Rakkojae Seoul: "Hanok Stay with modern conveniences"
We visited Seoul as a family reunion. Rakkojae was within walking distance to The Blue House, the Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Buckchon Village, Jogyesa Temple, Insadong, and lots of Michelin rated restaurants. The staff and Mr. Kim, our host/concierge was very helpful with recommendations of what to do, where to eat, arrange taxi rides, etc. He even was kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage before and after our stay to allow us a little more time in Seoul. Rakkojae Seoul is located in a very quiet, off-the-beaten-track neighborhood that make us feel like we are back in the Joseon Dynasty. Oh, and the staff provided us with a delicious traditional Korean breakfast, and Continental Breakfast. If you want a Hanok experience with modern conveniences, we highly recommend Rakkojae Seoul.Manda De Laos: "Amazing restaurant and food, and surprisingly reasonable prices"
We did not have reservations but were welcomed with a smile. Excellent service, fresh and delicious menu items: a real find.Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Traditional house in bustling Seoul"
"Stayed for a night in the separate house (which has 2 bathrooms) with 3 other friends. The house was well maintained and clean!Hosts were responsive and helpful. You could borrow the hanboks from the host to try on and take Instagram-worthy pictures with the traditional setting. As if you just hopped on the time machine! What we love most was the breakfast! It's ""SEOUL YUMMY!"" (So yummy, pun intended). Just by looking at the picture is enough to salivate!' It's so good that we felt all other meals we had during our trip were just so plain and average! Words can't express how good it was. You have to try it to know it! :) The location of the house is not so straightforward. It would be good if you have wifi-egg to navigate and locate using your phone! Otherwise I would advise you to get detailed directions from the host before the trip. "Rachamankha: "Incredible Hotel Stay"
This hotel is absolutely beautiful and it was the best place we stayed at while in Thailand. It is centrally located to many city attractions and it is within walking distance to several spas, restaurants, etc. The hotel grounds are meticulously maintained and it has a magical feel to it while you stroll through the various buildings. The breakfast is very nicely done and there is a patio so you can enjoy your meal on the terrace. The rooms have more of antique feel with a modern twist - lots of nice amenities including a canopy bed, Molton Brown products, and good A/C. The only challenge I had during my stay in Chiang Main was that I got a lot of bug bites - please note the hotel also provides free bug spray so don't forget to use this religiously if you are prone to bug bites (I made the mistake of going without it for a couple of days). I would highly recommend this hotel to others who go to Chiang Mai...you won't be disappointed! The Village House: "A little bit of Borneo"
"We visited for 2 nights from Kuala Lumpur to see a little of Borneo. The booking process was really smooth, and we had lots of advice on which trip to book. We arrived late on a Friday and the taxi the hotel had arranged was waiting for us to whisk us to the hotel. About an hours drive. We booked the suite which is a large room, decorated in a local style but all the mod cons, so to speak. Comfortable large bed with a large screen TV at the base. Good coffee machine, and large bathroom. Everything we could need. Saturday morning we went to Bako National park with a guide arranged by the hotel – we had a great day, he knew where to find all the local species of monkey! Saturday evening we had the 8 course tasting meal, which was delicious and not too much, although we had been walking all day! The beach at the end of the road is worth a stroll along, it is beautiful. As others have said, not somewhere you’d stop to sunbathe. The staff were charming, the bar was a great place to grab a drink before and after dinner. It is a quiet hotel, but it’s perfect for a short break."Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Delicious food and friendly service"
I was only my way to another restaurant but i stopped by and checked it out as i saw this on tripadvisor. While i was looking on my phone on the tripadvisor review, the owner came out and said i shouldnt be standing on the road as its dangerous. He invited me in to look at the menu and i decided to stay for dinner. There were two set menus with 5 or 6 course and they are very delicious and value for money (US 27/31). The duck pancake was particularly delicious. I asked to switch some dishes from the other menu and they were happy to accommodate. Wine was only US 4 per glass. Service was good and the decor was lovely. The owner will also come and present some fruit as well as chatting with you after your meal. Id have to pay more than US 100 a meal like this. Highly recommended.Mrauk U Princess Resort: "Fabulous Food in a Fabulous Setting"
We were not staying here but came to look at the resort and eat a late lunch after four hours of visiting ruins on bicycles. We were hot and sweaty so definitely appreciated the cool, open restaurant. Delicious drinks. Delicious homemade bread, along with chilled cucumber soup, chicken sate, banana leaf shrimp salad, potato curry, and ice cream for dessert. Excellent service provided by Kyaw Soe Paing and the staff he was training. An expensive treat to ourselves but well worth it!Mie Cafe: "Amazing"
This hidden gem is amazing. Ribs you can cut with a fork and the coconut ginger ice cream are must haves.Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Outstanding Cultural Experience"
Staying at Rakkojae Seoul was incredibly fun. Highly recommended for anyone seeking history & culture vacation. Rakkojae resided in the heart of the Bukchon village, convenience location, great walking neighborhood, steps away from tourism info center, and minutes away from subway station. We stayed for 3 nights in the separate house. The house was well maintained very nice and clean. The staffs were very friendly and helpful especially Mr. Kim the manager. The traditional breakfast serve daily was excellent. Rakkojae brought us an amazing experience in Seoul that one may not get if staying at modern hotel.Villa Song Saigon: "Top class!"
"We recently stayed at the Villa Song for the first leg of our honeymoon in beautiful Vietnam. After a choice of two rooms, we opted for a suite with balcony overlooking the river at the front of the hotel - what a fab choice! The hotel oozes charm and elegance with stunning French colonial decor and a relaxing pool area away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Food and service is exceptional with a particular thanks to the front of house team and Freddie the restaurant manager who made us feel very welcome. This really is a gem of a hotel..we hope to return again one day."Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
