Sea Dance Resort: "Chill out in the pool"
After sailing around Samui the whole week we need to chill-out at a special location. The Sea Dance Resort allow residents to use the pool during our stay. My wife enjoyed a deep thai massage and my son and me had a healthy lunch and some drinks at the pool bar. Great afternoon.Glenburn Tea Estate: "Amazing Location"
"We stayed in 'the bungalow' which was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable with the added bonus of wonderful scenery. The food and service in our own delightful dining room in front of a roaring log fire was perfect. The only major downside is the TERRIBLE access to Glenburn. I live in the country down an unmade up track and have a 4 X 4 to cope with our own tracks and lanes however, the 10 kilometre track that takes an hour each way (I was highly amused to see another review claiming it takes 30 minutes, this would only be possible if they flew!) to Glenburn is worse than 'challenging', it can only be likened to a steep dried up ancient river bed! My husband and I both suffer with arthritis and this journey very nearly killed us off. Such a pity as otherwise everything else was perfect!"Locavore: "Amazing Amazing Amazing"
"It's easy to see why this restaurant has been on the Top 50 Asian Restaurants list for 2 years in a row. What a culinary experience. What a journey of taste sensations. As restaurant owners ourselves, people just don't realise the amount of effort that goes into bringing the theatre of dining to life. Locavore exceeds on every front. Incredible food, impeccable service from knowledgable wait staff who can recite every ingredient of every dish, delicious cocktails and affordable wines. As others have said, around $320 AUD which makes it on the high side for Bali, but worth every cent. Two things to note. I think our 7 course ended up 16 courses with snacks, pre dessert and post dessert - so make sure you don't eat much beforehand. And one small issue with the squid, not sure it was 100% so didn't eat it. The waitress offered to give me an alternative (again, fantastic service) but I declined as we had more than enough food. But it was a minor blemish in an extraordinary dining experience. Lovacore is a must if you're visiting Ubud. Can't wait to come back. Great job team."The Cabochon Hotel: "This is a true boutique accommodation – wish we hadn’t left"
"We easily found the Cabochon (using transit on our first morning in Bangkok). We were greeted by the staff who took care of our luggage, got us inside for an instant check-in and took us to the little library for a refreshing coconut water drink. We were able to enter our room early with no charge because it was clean and ready. When we travel we prefer to stay in unusual accomodations. We chose well selecting the Cabochon Hotel for our first trip to Bangkok. The Cabochon is like an old mansion from before the war. You enter a quiet world of reduced light, and cool marble floors and steps. Vintage wood furniture and objets everywhere. Lovely people working hard to make you feel comfortable during your stay with them. This hotel is a labor of love. We enjoyed having our breakfast outside on the front veranda under the trees. There is a breakfast area as well as a little restaurant. You can stop by the bar for a drink or a latte. Our room was a nice size - not huge because we're in another era here but not cramped like Japan - with dark wood floors, old style windows, vintage style white tiled bathroom and crisp well made beds. You could see the care the housekeeper had put into making the room nice. We were only steps off busy Sukhumvit Road but couldn't hear it or smell the exhaust. The rooms aren't smoked in so you're spared that too. While we enjoyed being out and about we also needed a refuge to replenish ourselves. I hope this review helps someone find their way to the Cabochon. If you prefer a big sterile room and a hotel with a noisy bar/karaoke/disco scene don't come here. If you want the experience of being a traveler from another time yet with modern comfort you'll love it. This is the place to be. Room Tip: There are no ice machines or noisy people in the halls here. It wasn't too hot when we stayed s... Returned after visiting last year.Every bit as good if not better. The location on the beach is idyllic. The rooms in bungalows are outstanding. The staff go out of their way to look after you. The food is delicious. We went on 2 excursions- the hotel house boat and a local village tour- both excellent. The pool is lovely .We intend to return!Samanea Beach Resort: "Good service"
Friendly and helpful staff, clean and perfect. The food and location near sea and the resort have a nice brigde. Bathroom is so natural. You can swim in big pool. Quiet environment. Great place for weekend escapeLocavore: "Another amazing culinary experience in the best restaurant in Bali"
I had another amazing meal, 7 courses, with loads and loads of surprising, creative, interesting and very tasty morsels both at the beginning of the meal and around the dessert course. Presentation is a marvel. As usual I had the "carnivore option," but my two friends opted for the "plant-based option." All of us were pleased beyond expectations. I love oak-otak and Locavore's version, with the duck egg aioli (I guess that is what I would call it) was perhaps the star of my meal, though the old favorite--Into the Sawah--of course was delicious. The special Locavore tomato "soup" was, as always, spectacular. And i love the "freebie" cassava roti too. All seven courses were. My friends raved about their veg tasting menu. And I must admit I was a bit disappointed that I did not choice to have the Banana Blossom. This must become, like Into the Sawah, a main stay of the Locavore team. Service was super friendly and professional. Cannot recommend Locavore highly enough.Summertime Villa: "A true garden of Eden"
"I spent 3 truly stunning nights in Summertime a few months back. I waited a while to write this review to see if my opinion would change over time. It hasn't. This stay was a transformative experience. Built with love by a couple still in love, Summertime is an oasis of peace in one of the most beautiful region of India. Wild peacocks all around, graceful birds endlessly plunging in the infinity pool for a brief splash, beautiful gardens, a koi pond, a majestic living/dining room, 3 enormous bedrooms with ensuites and walk in closets and wonderful staff all awaited to make my stay one of the great experiences of my traveling life. I cannot recommend enough the warm and welcoming hospitality of Hans and Sucheta."Nam Bo Boutique Hotel: "Nice hotel, lovely staff"
This hotel is a little gem. Large rooms/ suites in a perfect location in this very nice town. The staff were uniformly so friendly and helpful. I can confirm that the breakfast on the roof terrace is excellent. We have a lovely memory of our stay here.Sukoon Houseboat: "Perfect place for honeymoon"
"#Excellent service #recommended for couples #premium range #classic interior with renovated hifi rooms and bio toilets #rooftop restaurant #traditional ala carte food menus included in the package #owned unlimited ferry shuttle service"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
