Chakrabongse Villas: "An Oasis Along the Chao Phraya River"
This is simply an oasis, tucked behind gates in a garden setting on the property of a member of the extended royal family. We felt that we were treated like royalty ourselves by Atom and Ohm. They were both so kind and helpful. The property has a resplendent landscaping of fountains, a long trellised archway with potted orchids that leads to the restaurant, which was lighted at night, and a nice private swimming pool surrounded by landscaping. We stayed nine nights and enjoyed the Mali room. The room had all the amenities of a fine large resort but with a more charming character. The room was large enough to be comfortable. We like the coffee bar just outside our room and found it nice to come back and have an English cup of tea after our day tours. The bathroom was kept tidy with fresh towels everyday, and supplied with a nice quality of shampoo, conditioner and lotions should need them. The restaurant overlooking the river is simply elegant. The breakfast was very good and the dinners were sublime. They also have a driver that they arranged to pick us up and return us to the airport for a fair price. This was so nice after a 12 hour flight to be met at the airport, by simple instructions, instead of getting a random cab. The hotel helped us confirm the time of our tour pickups each day we were taking a tour by calling the tour operator on our behalf. They would help us to get reservations at other restaurants when their restaurant was not open. We appreciate their kind and caring assistance. We enjoyed our experience so much that when we return to Bangkok we will stay at Chakrabongse, and so should you.Discover Muang La | Visit Laos | Luxury & Boutique Hotel: "Excellent"
Muang La Lodge is one of a kind--I stayed only two nights, but wish I could have stayed two weeks. The staff are charming and attentive, and have a way of foreseeing your every need. The food is fantastic--particularly the five-course dinners--and the service is top-notch. Highly recommend taking a nice soak (or fifty) in the hot spring, and making the trek to see the local villages in the hills. The rooms are comfortable and wifi is available, but let's be honest: those emails from your horrible boss can wait, and you can binge watch Netflix when you're not in paradise. In short, one of the most positive and relaxing stays I've had in a long time. So treat yourself--we all know you deserve it.MesaStila: "Exquisite Gem"
This is the perfect place to relax and unwind from the busy city life. Surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains and the forests and ricefields and plantation. The public areas are very well appointed, having taken pains to fill the clubhouse and the bar/lounge with vintage, period pieces. The staff is always helpful and polite. Excellent service by everyone. We even had a private tour of the coffee plantation where we were introduced to the flora and fauna of the place, the organic garden, the coffee area and once more given traditional snacks and more coffee and jamu. One can spend an entire day just lounging by the infinity pool by the jungle. Or playing billiards in the lounge. Or walking around the extensive estate. The spa/hamman facilities and menu are also top-notch. I can't say enough good things about the place. It is a very, very gracious place full of hospitality, warmth and the beauty of nature.Satri House: "Truly warm and friendly staff, Navitha"
"Cute boutique hotel in this lovely Unesco city with a colonial arquitecture. We were sad living this place, lovely staff, amazing Navitha (hope name is well written) who welcomes every guest of the hotel, she advised us where to go, eat, do....she was so helpful!! If it wasn't for he we would have missed many things there. We wish we could remember every single staff name, from reception to cleaners, waiters, they are all super professional. Service is exquisite, a la carte and with local food options. Free bikes to go around which were so handy. Bed has a mosquito net that they prepared for us everyday. What can I say about this place? We will be back!"4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Simply stunning"
"My wife and I booked our trip to Cambodia a year ago. The 4 Rivers Floating Lodge came highly recommended so we were really looking forward to our stay. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. The location is stunning, the rooms are wonderful, the food is superb and the staff are some of the nicest people we have met on our trip. We went on a couple of excursions which were both great fun. The guides are very knowledgeable and ensure you have a great time. Do not miss the trip to see the fireflies. It’s only a short trip by boat but really impressive. The owners deserve a special mention for the great work they are doing with the local community. They employ a number of people from the local villages and I understand that they support a local school. I would go back tomorrow if I could. Nick & Jo"Sea Dance Resort: "Best Stay Ever"

"Summary - great hotel, we were upgraded to a suite as booked through SLH, which was wonderful. Pros -Lovely hotel, suite was huge and bathroom was massive. -Very sleek minimalist decor. -Coffee machine, that made cappuccinos! -Snacks provided daily including drinks, chips, etc. A nice touch. We kept nipping into the nearby 7 11 for beers, water and additional stacks. -Great service. -Great breakfast, although this was only included due to SLH booking. If it is not included it is a little pricey. -Very convenient location to access the rail transport. -Loads and loads of restaurants within walking distance. Cons -We had constant issues with the toilet. It was one of those poorly designed American ones, which tend to block ridiculously easily. However, the staff were great about dealing with the issue on multiple occasions."The River Resort: "Great place to stay."
"The River Resort lived up to our high expectations. At very short notice we requested our stay to be brought forward by one day and the emails were handled speedily and professionally. All our subsequent requests for services were similarly well handled and in a very friendly manner. The property is of a high standard and although we booked one of the cheapest rooms, its size and fittings were perfect for us. The bed was comfy, the a/c was efficient and Wi-Fi worked well over the whole resort. The restaurant comes in for special mention as it is exceptionally well run. It has a varied well priced menu, the food is beautifully prepared and we would particularly like to highlight Kraemer whose service level is impeccable and would not be out of place in a Four Seasons. A good place to spend a few days."Locavore: "Outstanding"
"We chose to have the 5 course degustation menu with accompanying cocktails for each course. While we may have had some reservation about having cocktails instead of matching wine, they were a revelation! While we were waiting for our meal to begin we were stunned to be served with SEVEN 'amuse bouche' dishes prior to this. All were outstanding and each was described to us in detail by a member of the staff - sometimes a waitress but often one of the cooks - including the head chef. In a similar vein - the 1 dessert course actually ended up being a 'pre-dessert', main dessert, and then about 3 'post desserts'. All the dishes were of a very high standard with interesting combinations and flavours. The open kitchen allows you to observe the staff preparing the food - all in a seemingly tranquil manner. Service was outstanding and we waddled out after almost 3 hours, overwhelmed by the experience. Even though it is reasonably pricey compared to other restaurants in Bali (~US$150pp including drinks), it is well worth it."Villa Song: "Lovely Saigon hotel in quiet location."
Quiet location right on river, lovely Colonial - style hotel with many pluses. Friendly, helpful staff with a high service ethic. Good dining experience, attractive room overlooking the Mekong. Own fast motor boat for complimentary speedy transfer to City.
