The Island Lodge: "Magic on the Mekong"
What a surprise, much better than it shows on its website and booking search engines. A touch of casual elegance right on the river. French influences everywhere as you'd expect with French owners, very classy open air restaurant and lounge area facing the pool and river on one side and the garden and villas on the other. Rooms above are bright, airy and extremely pleasant. The food is great, although mostly western style. There's lots to do - cycling and boat trips, visits to local markets etc. Only two hours drive from HCMC (the hotel will arrange a car) it's a great escape from the city - a must visit for people seeking respite from the big smoke. The Village House: "A diamond in the middle of nowhere"
We stayed here to enjoy a relaxed couple of days after a demanding tour theough malaysia and Borneo and though we have stayed at some of the fanciest and most luxurios hotels in the world we have to admit that the village house is one of the best accomodations we have stayed at. Sure it isn't a five star hotel with such amenities as flat screen tv's, tennis courts, jacuzzis and sorts but it makes up for it by being charming, romantic and being well taken care of. The house itself is as beautiful as it gets and gives you a 'home' feeling right from the start. You are welcomed by the manager herself and she takes care of your every need. If there is anything just let her know and she will find a way to wirl it out for you. Sort of like a good spirit. The girls are really nice as well and take good care of the facilities. The rooms are very well maintained and will be cleaned up twice daily. The food is (compared to malaysian standards) a bit pricey (but compared to western standards still ok) but soooo worth it! We can barely remember having had better asian food than the local Bidayuh cuisine. True, there isn't much you can do or explore around the village house but if you plan on a relaxing couple of days by the pool, maybe read a book then this is the place to go. My husband still claims its 'the best hotel/b&b i've ever stayed at'. We simply loved it!!SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "One of the best"
With a wonderful lake view and amazing ambience, this restaurant is worth a visit, even though it may be slightly out of the way. The food is delicious, with lunch sets that are of good value. The service is impeccable, as with people in Myanmar in general. Make a reservations for choice seats. Alternatively, go in the evening for seats near the lake. (It seems too hot in the afternoon when I was there.) I loved the classy decor, with their handmade pottery dining ware!Glenburn Tea Estate: "Lap of the Mighty Himalayas"
Tea Plantation Tour’ which makes “Darjeeling” world famous. This is which can make your ‘Tour Differently’ from the usual program in this region as you may visit one of the iconic tea garden called Glenburn Tea Estate. You will be experiencing the tea plantation & nature walk. ‘Eat Differently’ while you lunch with the local cuisines in the lap of the mighty Himalayas.MesaStila: "Wonderful days"
Very relaxing place, with a nice volcanoes and hills view. You can enjoy the restaurant, the spa and the pool. The staff is very kind and can organize meny activities in the coffee plantation or outside.Sea Dance Resort: "Our Happy Place in Thailand!"
"Thank you again Poy and your incredible team for welcoming us back with open arms and making us feel like family! A New Years Eve to remember! We where one of your first visitors 3 odd years ago and had no doubt in choosing to stay at Sea Dance again this visit even though there where a 1000 other places to perhaps try! We are still in Thailand, and at our third stop after Sea Dance! Although the venues we have chosen are visually beautiful, none have made us feel as welcome and special as you all did, at Sea Dance! It is really home away from home! We are so proud to see your beautiful resort mature and blossom and get all the awards you are truly due! Our only regret was that we only booked 7 days it went by too quickly! Can't wait to visit again! Hugs to you all! Lisa and Vaughan."Rachamankha: "Spectacular Boutique Property"
"We actually changed our travel dates to be able to stay at this beautiful hotel in Chiang Mai. We had the good fortune of staying in a 2 Bedroom Suite(#24). The space was large, the amenities very comfortable and the beds.....the most comfortable I have slept in for a long time The hotel is stunning. Don't go in expecting a big business hotel with lots of glass and steel. The hotel is a reflection of Lanna architecture and everything about it is so. Big glass windows with large wooden doors. Huge high ceilings. Tiled roofs. Greenery everywhere, all manicured to perfection. Every corner of this property seems to tell a story. The entire hotel has been curated and the architecture, art, artefacts, furniture all have an air of detail to them The breakfast is alacarte with more than enough options to offer everyone Its not an ideal hotel to come to with kids(we came with 2). its a bit too eclectic for them Would I come back? In a heartbeat. Would I pay the asking price? Without hesitation"SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Good job"
Atmosphere is cosy and warm. Chef welcomes the guest. The food is great modern cuisine with touches of classic. Service is very good. Price is very ok for the value. Strongly recommend!4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Delightful Glamping"
"If you like a very mild degree of roughing it, this is a fabulous place to stay. The tents are very roomy and comfortable, the restaurant is delicious, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the setting -- well, look at the pictures! And yes, you can swim right from your tent! But make no mistake: it's not a hotel. If your tent is too hot, there's no AC -- you have to go around back and open up the flaps to let some breeze in."Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Great food and service"
"We booked this months in advance. We had the 6 course menu at US$28 per person, which was good value for this standard of restaurant. All the courses were beautifully presented and were delicious. Their cocktails were also tasty. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, we sat inside that had air con. Staff were all very professional and attentive, spoke good English. Recommend you visit."
