Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Amazing experience – excellent service"
"Visited for one night on our honeymoon. Were greeted by the friendly Dhanu who drove us in the jeep to camp. Stayed in a couples tent. Tent was spacious, fans, proper flush toilet next to the tent, shower under the stars (they offer warm water shower). The lunch provided was the best Sri Lankan meal I have had in our holiday in this country. The flavours and variety was specialist. Trying all the different types of vegetables and spices. After lunch we went on our first game drive. We were so lucky to see Leopard resting on branch of tree. Saj was great at spotting the wildlife and very informative about the park, history, leopards etc etc. Lovely dinner under the stars and Noel was also there for the night which was great to meet him. We were up early for the dawn game drive. Again we were very fortunate to see he bears (one which charged the jeep) and 2 Leopards which we saw mating. Amazing experience and very lucky to have these encounters with the wildlife. Overall we had an amazing time and wish we stayed 2 nights. We were lucky to see that variety in wildlife in just 2 game drives. Highly recommend. Thank you to all staff, your service and hospitality was impeccable"Amata Lanna: "Great boutique hotel"
Awesome hotel with a really amazing staff that makes you feel welcome from the time you walk in. Rooms were very cozy and we enjoyed the nice firm bed! Close to the night bazar and city center. The staff also helped with taxi's and suggested a great spa that offered free transport! Overall a great time at the Amata LannaMesaStila: "Must-visit place for nature lovers, coffee lovers, & traditional Java-Dutch royal lovers"
We fell in love since we arrived at the gate of Mesa Stila. My older daughter (6 yo) said it's just like her dream castle :) the concierge, lobby, and the villa were beautiful as well as overall resort landscape. The staff's service was impressive & very helpful. We enjoyed the coffee plantation tour, beautiful afternoon tea, bicycle riding for my two-daughters, swimming, and quality breakfast indeed. My daughters did not want to go home after stay, so did I and my husband actually haha. Mesa Stila is exactly the place to spend quality time with your beloved. Thank you for the great service!Reverie Siam: "Perfect Hotel in Pai"
"This hotel is very nice and charming. We stayed on a villa. The room is quite big with spacious bathroom with jacuzzi inside. You have a very nice garden view from your jacuzzi tub. It's like an open-air bathroom but closed with glass window. Very comfortable bed and day bed. You have your own balcony with private back yard. It's fantastic! You have a very generous breakfast here: 1 main dish, 1 sweet dish and 2 beverages. I Iove the decoration of every corner of the hotel. Staffs here are very polite and friendly. They are very well trained! Big thanks to the management team and all staffs. Stayed January 2017, traveled with family"David’s Kitchen: "Almost wheel-barrowed out!"
My wife and I were celebrating a year after getting married in Chiang Mai. There were whispers around town that David's kitchen was an excellent restaurant and we decided to chance our luck and book a day in advance. Luckily enough we managed to get a table and our dining experience surpassed anything we imagined! Everything was lovely. The ambience, the company, the setting, the staff, David himself came to chat to us (interesting man!) and the whole restaurant was thoroughly enjoying itself immensely. Most importantly, the food was incredible. We tried the escargot, the pumpkin soup, the signature beef cheek as well as the bourguignon. After that, we couldn't help but try their desserts in the sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate souffle. By the end of it, we were so relaxed, happy and content that indefinitely felt like we needed to be wheel-barrowed out of the restaurant. I offer my highest recommendation to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Food lovers would leave David's Kitchen saying Chiang Mai definitely has a top restaurant in town.Sandat Glamping Tents: "Romantic getaway"
"Thanks Sandat for a truly lovely and relaxing few days! Passing through busy Ubud your driver takes you along narrow local roads, passed rice paddies and suddenly you are in a luxurious oasis. We found this to be the perfect mix of serenity allowing us to chill out but close to Ubud's restaurants, shops and attractions when we wanted more action. The staff were attentive but not invasive, the food at the restaurant tasty and fresh (we ate in a couple of times and in Ubud a couple of times), I would thoroughly recommend the Glamping tents for a romantic getaway which is slightly different to a traditional hotel."Muang La Lodge: "A truly wonderful hotel"
"A superior hotel that offers a wow factor. At the time of staying we were the only guests and were treated like royalty. The quality of the room was stunning, and the service provided by the staff was second to non, including satisfying an urgent need for clean laundry. We would highly recommend a trek from the hotel, this was a challenging adventure, but highly worthwhile. The location on the banks of the river with accompanying hot springs was spectacular, and we were made to feel very much at home. Food was really rather wonderful. We cannot rate it highly enough, and would love to return one day. Stayed October 2016, traveled as a couple"Tugu Malang: "Amazing!!"
This hotel is the 'Raffles' of Indonesia....an amazing collection of the finest antiques and every space has a surprise!!!... just stay or go for a drink but it's a must see if you visit Malang....there is also a quaint little shop attached selling every type of Indonesian biscuits, crackers or lollies...we just love this place!Reverie Siam: "What a little gem of a place this is"
We heard good reports about this place and just had the weekend there. It was probably one of my nicest off the cuff getaways and just a 3 ½ hour drive from Chiangmai. Management is under the careful eye of Sebastian who is English and clearly makes sure that attention to detail is not missed. This property has been magnificently designed to give that period feel and look with close attention to not just the decor but the collection of antiques and artefacts which surround the property. The food and extensive choice of wines was just excellent and I must mention how pleasant and polite all of the staff were. Proof that a small family owned and operated property can be better than those big corporates. We highly recommend this hotel and are already looking forward to our return soon.Locavore: "This is an experience, not just a meal"
"We weren't sure about going as we are not normally into the fine dining scene, but the reviews of Locavore swayed us to give it a go. OMG - it was fantastic. What an experience! We sat along the open kitchen where we could watch and talk to the chefs - I highly recommend doing so if you can as it really added to our experience. We went for the 7 course degustation (non-vegetarian) accompanied by matching cocktails. We also had 2 cocktails off the menu before we started and these were delicious and not lacking in alcohol. I had one with passion fruit and rum and it was sensational. Along with the 7 course degustation there was a multitude of amuse bouche served - I think in the vicinity of 8 or 9 extra little surprises. We left feeling very satisfied, but not overstuffed. Now - on to the food and drinks themselves. The whole repertoire was simply bursting with flavour. We were amazed at how much flavour could be packed into small amounts of food. Each thing we had was unique and interesting. The cocktails were very well matched with the food. Even though I would not order some of the cocktails left to my own devices, they went very very well with the food served. Similarly, there were foods I would not necessarily order (such as ox tongue) but that was all part of the adventure and there was nothing I didn't eat. I also loved the imagination behind the food. For example, one dish was called ""into the rice paddy"" and the chef explained that it had all the things in it from the rice paddy that one could eat - duck egg, heritage rice, frogs, snails and wildflowers. We actually discovered in the course of the day that there are many flowers and decorative leaves that could be eaten. We were there for almost 3 hours and it went by in a flash. We were kept engaged in the experience the whole time (helped by sitting at the kitchen I think). I am very happy to report that Locavore is non - smoking - MASSIVE THUMBS UP. Apart from the fact others' smoke blocks our sinuses etc, there is no way you could serve this quality of food in a smoke-filled atmosphere. This kind of experience doesn't come cheap but we loved it and would highly recommend it. If you can, book before you get to Bali (through their website). We had 2 weeks in Ubud in shoulder season and could not get in for dinner, but managed a lunch. Thank you Locavore for a great afternoon and a real adventure."
