Manda De Laos: "Very special food"

Review by: elphina | Source: Trip Advisor
We spent few days in Laos and we tried to eat typical Laotian food: laap, papaya salad, sticky rice, curry, baguettes, grilled fish stuffed with lemon grass etc. The taste of Laotian food is very good but nothing surprising. Taste is like a mix of Thai, Cambodian or in general South East Asian flavors. Visiting Manda de Laos made me change my opinion. The chef managed to add an interesting twist to typical dishes and create incredible combinations and still using local ingredients. The dessert we tried was western style but what can go wrong with banana, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. We ordered duck with tamarind sauce, Buffalo steak, steamed chicken hormok style, pate laotian. The crunchy rice coconut salad was definitely a highlight of the dinner. Everything was very tasty and well presented in bamboo baskets or wooden trays. The place is beautiful, tables around the pond, romantic lights the whole atmosphere feels very special. It's for sure not a cheap eat, but the price is reasonable for very good quality food and quite generous portions.

The Village House: "A little taste of paradise"

Review by: abbie15 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"Changed my mind at the last minute and booked the village house rather than a hotel in the city. The best decision I have made in ages. Arranged a shuttle service from the airport as arrived in the evening and had no idea where I was going. After about a 40 minute drive turned off along an unlit track and thought 'where are we going, what have I booked?'... To cut a long story short, it is beautiful! The grounds, the hotel itself, bedrooms, the pool etc all exceeded my expectations a long way; especially for the money we paid. All the staff go out of their way from start to finish to make sure you are not only happy, but comfortable, feel secure, well rested, fed well and completely pampered! (...) Every member of staff we met were fabulous. We honestly felt like we made friends with all of them. They all took the time to chat with us, talk about the history of the village house and the Santubong mountains that you can see from the gardens.Any questions we had were answered. Any request we had were met. What more could you ask for? The only recommendation I have is put the staff 'tip' box by the bar. We wanted to give the staff some money and explained this to the manager. The box is in his office."

Les Maisons Wat Kor: "Lovely and relax resort"

Review by: Elly d | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed here for two nights with a great design room plus a pool view and big garden. It is a real Khmer art for sure. Lovely, friendly, and helpful staff. Location is good, abit quiet but sleep well. Good experience and will go back with friends for next visit in Cambodia.

Tugu Bali: "It doesn’t get any better than Tugu Hotel in Bali"

Review by: SuyashO | Source: Trip Advisor
"First thing that impresses you about Tugu Hotel is the warmth of the staff! You will remember the efficient hospitality and the friendly nature for days to come! The beauty, the traditional ambience and the location takes you breath away. We were unlucky as we could not have their famed breakfast or dinner at the beach due to rains but the hotel staff was more than happy to organise the same in the best way possible indoors. We had booked their best villa i.e. the PurI Le Mayeur Villa for our honeymoon and we fell in love with the same. Every corner of the villa had such beautiful art to it. The villa is surrounded by a pond which adds to the experience of being alone with your loved one. Recommend the spa services here as they have experienced massage therapists who will give you relaxation in a traditional Balinese way that you don't experience in most spas! Also the All Day Breakfast is simply delicious and so filling! Me and my wife will always look back at this as our best stay in Bali and will definitely visit again! "

Tugu Malang: "Awesome hospitality!"

Review by: Ramesh B | Source: tripadvisor.com
Stayed there with a few friends. The hotel itself is so beautifully decorated with priceless antiques, and the hospitality was exemplary! We were to go to Pananjakan to watch the sunrise over mt. Bromo, and since we were to leave the hotel at 1 am, we would have had to miss breakfast that day. The hotel packed (beautiful presentation too!) a sumptuous breakfast for each of us. Highly impressed! Will surely return!

The Cabochon Hotel: "Honeymoon visit"

Review by: dd_editor | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed here for 2 nights to start our honeymoon. It was super cute. Great location and staff was awesome. Breakfast was nice and we had a nice air conditioned room. The only downside was no bath tub, only shower, but its cool, we were happy! Would love to stay again!

David’s Kitchen: "CHIANG MAI HIDDEN GEM"

Review by: Ponstingel | Source: Trip Advisor
Where to even begin? The atmosphere is very calming, beautiful and serene. David, the owner, personally comes to your table to talk with you about the food, your travels and your life. David is an amazing individual who runs an excellent restaurant with an amazing staff. The service and food is amazing, the best Chiang Mai has to offer, as well as their family-like waiters and waitresses. David took us to meet the chef because we were so impressed with our meal. Top quality ingredients, service and presentation. A little pricey (in Thai standards not US OR UK) but EXTREMELY WORTH IT! If you're even contemplating coming here when you're in Chiang Mai, Do it! You will not be disappointed in any aspect! 5 stars. A truly unique place.

Rachamankha: "Lovely – definitely unexpected in the city; quiet and peaceful"

Review by: Sonya G | Source: Trip Advisor
Beautiful Thai decor and ambience. It was very hot when we were there but the rooms were beautiful and cool. Drinking water was abundant and we did not have to purchase water whilst we were there. The design of the hotel is a great concept and interesting to read about in the books scattered in the common area - beautiful design; we would have used this area more had it been cooler. The library was amazing - my husband wants one like it! The pool is lovely, though warm later in the day as it is not sheltered - so we went for early morning swims. Close enough to walk to night markets - about 10 minutes.

David’s Kitchen: "Memorable six star experience"

Review by: BarbaraMD | Source: Trip Advisor
"We started our evening with the shuttle sent by The restaurant to pick us up at our hotel. The magic began. Words are not enough to describe our experience. The fabulous staff, the Decor, the high quality and food the attention to detail coupled with the warm personality of the family that owns this restaurant make this experience magical. My husband started his dinner with his favorite escargot and then a wonderful steak with a wine sauce. I enjoyed the spicy flavorful gazpacho and the chicken beast entree to keep with my diet. My husband enjoyed the homemade ice cream for dessert. If you are visiting Chiang Mei don't miss this experience. Thank you David and Prom and all the staff."

Reverie Siam: "Gorgeous grounds"

Review by: Matthewclarke60 | Source: Trip Advisor
Quite possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Stunning grounds and bedrooms. The staff here are so friendly, particularly in the restaurant. The food was very tasty, in fact we had dinner here twice and lunch once, as well as breakfast every morning (try the avocado omelette and then a mojito later in the day!) it was the small touches in the hotel which we liked. For example the bean bag cushions on the decking overlooking the river, we spent an entire afternoon lazing on these watching the world go by. Yes the hotel is not in the centre of Pai, but then most hotels and guest houses in the area aren't. Reverie Siam is a little over 1km from the walking street, and the hotel provide a free shuttle service at any time upon request. They also gave me a mobile so that I could phone them when I wanted to be picked up. One minor irritation was the dim lighting in the room, but everything else was so lovely including the free standing bath tub that this didn't bother us. Definitely somewhere I would stay again.
