Sandat Glamping Tents: "Stylish camping amidst the rice field and tropical jungle"
"We stayed 5 nights over the Christmas period with our 8 yo boy. A beautiful location amidst the rice fields and jungle. Our tent has a amazing infinity pool facing the jungle. The tent from South Africa was very well designed . If you stay in the suite tents , they are air conditioning but over our stay we never has to turn it on as we much prefer the naturally cool breeze of the jungle and it was never too hot and can even get a little chilly in the early morning if it rained over the night. There is no TV and the only other electrical appliances in the tent are the fans and lightings which was perfect for us as we are looking for natural living experience away from the city. We never have any issues with bugs or mosquitoes during our stay , in fact we got more mosquitoes at a luxury villa we stayed after sandat in Sanur. The team at sandat did a good job in keeping the compound clean , although you do get ants , other insects and geko but then this is part of the charm of the camping experience albeit a glamorous one. So if you are looking for a urban 5 stars hotel experience this is not for you. All the staffs are friendly and helpful and always ready to do their best to make your stay a happy one. The breakfast is adequate but could be improved with more choices although I understand it is never easy with a small property of only 8 tents to do a interesting buffet. Perhaps it's better if they could offer by order ala carte menu breakfast. Free shuttle to and back from ubud centre is offered by request, and we never have to wait too long and the drivers are always happy to do their best to drop you off anywhere in ubud when they are not busy. Overall, I feel this is a property run with heart to do their best for their guests and given the tent settings and location they are doing a good job. I have stayed at other similar accommodation like Soneva Kiri that are more luxurious but then again it's not fair to compare given the price differential. I would highly recommend sandat if you are looking for a experience to live close to nature and a peaceful break from urban life. I truly missed the sound and smell of the jungle sleeping in the tent. I would rate it 4.5 out of 5."The Governor’s House: "Relaxing place into a colonial house"
"Cute 3-floors colonial house with a nice pool in the back of the hotel including chill-out terrace. 8 rooms only makes you feel like ""at home"". Room no. 1, next to the pool to be recommended. If you are lazy to go out, try restaurant. Notice choice of dishes at excellent quality at very affordable prices. I would recommend this hotel for short stays to PP traveling with friends or couples."SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "If I could give 6 stars i would"
"We had heard that the Swiss owners of this restaurant, with their Michelin star history had created something special, but this was beyond our high expectations. The setting is romantic and set off on a beautiful lake. The building was redone to hip minimalist beautiful décor. The food was out of this world. Service was impeccable. The owners have even sought out hard to find wines and serve at reasonable prices to fit any budget. The restaurant is not cheap for Myanmar standards, but a third of the price you would pay in Europe or the U.S. for food that is in a word...memorable. The chef and his lovely wife both came to the table and their watchful eye was on every detail. Although Michelin tends to be giving stars for micro-cuisine, this is a finer restaurant than most multi-Michelin star restaurants that we have frequented. You know, that feeling that each course is perfect and you don't want it to end. The only thing sad about this review, is being in Yangon we can't just go back there next week!!! This is a restaurant that you will use as a standard by which to compare others."Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Didn’t know what to expect and had a memorable evening"
A relaxed environment, not at all pretentious. You can eat inside or out. This was booked way ahead, which we understand is necessary. Wonderful, imaginative food, served without fuss, but just attentive enough.Supanniga Eating Room: "Consistantly good"
"We've hit Supanniga again last night. Every time (twice a year) we come to Bangkok we make sure to have dinner there and have always been rewarded for sticking to good old habits. Last night was no exception. We tried to innovate choosing dishes we'd never tried before and were pleased with every single taste. Service was as always attentive. Supanigga remains a good destination for whoever is looking for good thai food with a twist in a cozy yet animated environment"The Island Lodge: "Paradise on the banks of the mighty Mekong"
We had 24 hours at Island Lodge in April and from the moment we were collected at the main road in the Lodge's golf buggy and whisked down the narrow lane to the hotel, we knew we had found something very special. Michel and Francoise have gone to enormous trouble to make sure that every detail is perfect. The staff are charming courteous and discreet. The rooms are large, cool and ours had a terrific balcony overlooking the infinity pool and the Mekong River beyond. We had a very pleasant afternoon boat tour round Unicorn Island before settling down on the terrasse with an ice cold beer to watch the evening light on the river and the boats of every size and shape. Swimming early in the morning in the large 24 m pool with the Mekong just a few metres away was surreal.Reverie Siam: "Truly memorable stay"
Amazing place, very quiet and peaceful. The garden and hotel grounds are gorgeous. Room is huge and clean. Food is really delicious, great option for breakfast and dinner. Staff is super warm welcome and will sincerely do everything to make your stay truly memorable. They know very well how to provide the best service. Especially thanks to Khun Dee from restaurant. We'll definitely be back.THE SAMAR: "THE SAMAR"
" Siem Reap itself is something else. You can feel certain peace and tranquility immidiately after you land there. When you check in to hotel Samar Villa & Spa, this feeling of serenity and relaxation comes to it's full power. It is situated just a bit outside of the city centre limits, which is actually great. Tuk tuk is affordable so a 4,5 minute ride to the Siem Reap centre is really not a problem. On a contrary, nice way to cool down after a hot day in Angkor temples, before you step into the Samar swimming pool. Check in procedure is really smooth and relaxing, with nice welcome drinks and towels provided for all. Hotel is not big, so even if they are full, you are almost all the time alone and you feel like you have it all just for yourself. Staff are very nice and provide help but privacy in the same time, which we appreciated highly. Rooms are so nice, in french colonial style, maintained well, decorated with style. Breakfasts were so delicious, there is no buffet, but you can order your daily choice and they will prepare it for you. Very tasty. Some of the comments before were negative (eg maintainance, insect spraying,...). We found them not to be true, and as far as insects are concerned, of course they have to spray, but as the end result you can have nice relaxing evenings without bugs and mosquitos. They do it during the day, when all/most guests are out, exploring temples.... All in all, i really hope me and my family will come back to Cambodia and Siem Reap soon. Then we will stay in Samar again for sure! It is for every recommendation."The Island Lodge: "aradise on the Mekong Delta"
We were lucky enough to stay here for one night after booking the Les Rives 2 day Mekong Delta speedboat tour. After an awesome day, we had a 1-2hr speedboat ride and had a bit of a snooze.....we woke up just as we arrived at the lodge and wow, instantly it took our breath away. We were greeted personally by the check in staff, room manager and then Michel (one of the owners). This place is beautiful, not crowded, such a feeling a peace and tranquility. Every member of staff was exceptional. If we head back to Vietnam again.....we know where we will be staying :)Tugu Malang: "A stunning boutique hotel"
"This is my favourite hotel in this city, come here around 3-4 times. Full with antique items (like poteki puppet dolls, or old chinese porcelain etc), the hotel even provide a free tour for guest to visit their biggest suite and another romantic spot in hotel ground. And the rooms in hotel have different theme (only the basic one that don't have that kind perk) Breakfast is indonesian cuisine also afternoon tea also, blended with traditional snack. It comes with a price tag, not heavy for western standard, but yes higher than the rest of the other hotel in malang. "
