Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A Room with a View"

Review by: lesleyrosemary | Source: Trip Advisor
I had the most amazing view of the mountains from my stone bungalow. My 4 poster bed was warmed each night with a hot water bottle. The staff were very helpful and the food the best that I had in Nepal. A bird watcher's dream.

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Nourishing for body and soul"

Review by: Judebarton | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed for 10 nights which included 2 nights on the local backwaters on the hotel owned boat - The Lotus. The whole stay was amazingly relaxing and the time on the boat was the most peaceful and comfortable 2 days I have ever spent. There are only 18 very comfortable cabins Either facing the garden or the stunning, endless sandy beach. The staff are all amazing and well trained and so helpful from morning bed tea till the end of a delicious supper. Mainly Indian food ( fine by us) eaten in one of 2 restaurants-one on beach and the other in a cool vaulted traditional structure in the garden. Also serving as a bar and library. Excellent ayerverdic treatments, free daily yoga and various excursions including bird watching from a canoe. Open air bathrooms lovely but watch out for frogs. Excellent tailor on site and have a cookery lesson with Deepak the chef. Everything fairly expensive but done extremely well. Good for individual travellers.

Villa Mathis: "Fantastic stay in a little piece of paradise"

Review by: Eatpray | Source: Trip Advisor
"Stayed in La Villa Mathis for three days and enjoyed every bit of it. Me and my travel companion tremendously enjoyed the quiet ambience of the villa and the villa manager Christian was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. The villas have several swimming pools secluded from one to another and we felt like it is reserved specially for us! What a treat! The villa is located quite near with Seminyak strip and the villa staffs will assist you in arranging the transportation. The room was designed in a very thoughtful details and we felt like we can really switch off and rejuvenate in this place. Overall it is an absolutely amazing stay and we definitely will come back to Villa Mathis!"

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Wonderful experience"

Review by: 63Jack | Source: Trip Advisor
Stayed here for two nights at the end of a hectic 3 week tour. The charm of the old buildings is apparent as soon as you arrive. Courteous staff ensure you settle into your accommodation [ in our case a bungalow in the grounds ]. The food is excellent and we managed to go on two accompanied walks which were great. The walk to the river was down hill all the way. On arrival, out of nowhere it seemed, a barbeque lunch with cold beer appeared ! Thankfully a 4x4 took us back up the hill to Glenburn.

Locavore: "world class dining in Ubud, Bali"

This is an extraordinary French fusion cuisine restaurant. Everything is first class: food sourcing, preparation, presentation, taste.

Satri House: "Super stay at Luang Prabang"

Review by: mukeshshah_fine | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We were delighted to be at Satru house in Luang Prabang .. Very old style historical villa which was earlier used by a communist head of Laos after Frenchs left.. Excellent rooms.. Superb services.. Good breakfast.. Efficient services.. On our request they also made Vegetarian Lao cuisine for dinner. It was really a pleasure to be in Satri house for 2 nights.. We wished we were here for one more night.... We highly recommend travelers to stay in this marvelous hotel..."

The Village House: "Mr and Mrs Smith style boutique hotel"

Review by: hazblome | Source: Trip Advisor
"Myself and a friend stayed at The Village House for one night a couple of weeks ago, and we both left saying that we could have stayed for much longer. If I go back to Borneo I intend to stay there for at least a week! The room was lovely and clean, modern, unpretentious and very comfortable. The bathroom was big, with a powerful shower. It was quiet and felt safe and secure. The hotel has a lovely pool, which has lots of nice plants and trees around it that give it a great deal of character. The restaurant and 'bar' area is around the pool, we ate both lunch and supper at the hotel as there is nowhere else around (I believe the closest restaurant is a 5km drive away), but eating at the hotel was the best decision anyway, as their food is some of the best we had over the course of the trip, which is high praise in Malaysia! The beach is about 2 minutes away from the hotel on foot, it is huge and quite striking with lots of trees and deadwood on the beach. The sea was extremely warm, it is quite shallow for a long way out, so perhaps not the best if you want a real dip. Sadly I was attacked by a jelly fish so my swim was abruptly ended. According to the hotel they are not that rare, but not dangerous, perhaps not the best place from swimming though! Overall I found it comfortable, the staff were lovely and helpful, and I would highly recommend its restaurant. If you are looking for somewhere with lots of bars and restaurants, however, this is not the area for you!"

YL Residence No.17: "Our wedding venue"

Review by: Alallover | Source: Trip Advisor
"This was our wedding venue for over 100 people last weekend. Pros: gorgeous location, good lawn to hold ceremony or reception, club house is big enough for contingency plan for 100 pax, good dance floor area and the rooms are lovely. You can sit out on the coconut lawn with your guests staying at the venue (we booked the whole place out over the weekend), it's very relaxing and the staff try their best to cater for your needs. Cons: communication leading up to and on the day of the wedding could be better. A few things went wrong (which had previously been discussed and agreed over emails and after a personal site visit made last August) such as glasses weren't pre filled for the first toast at our dinner, wine wasn't on the tables for guests to help themselves, the projector and audio during speeches broke and the team were very quick to jump in straight after dinner and clear everything out. The night before the wedding a unknown man came into my room at 4 am which was a bit odd - lucky I was in there to ward off any unwanted guests! The day after the wedding (Sunday) I was disappointed to see they had endorsed the next wedding structure to be set up right on the main lawn - we were checking out on the Monday and had just finished our farewell brunch so couldn't use the lawn even though we had booked all the rooms and paid ""location premium"" for exclusive use of the grounds. So it felt a bit sausage factory like - clearly it's a very popular venue! Overall I'd say it was a great wedding, very expensive but stunning location - you'll have to be patient with the emails and be prepared to invest a lot of time in going back and forth organising various members the YL Team and thinking of things that may be obvious - such as clearing the rubbish off the beach that YL overlooks."

Sandat Glamping Tents: "Really liked it but needs a little improvement"

Review by: suma8587 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We were there on our honeymoon, i loved the pool and how quite it can be. The only downfall was that everything can be heard. The resort consists of 5 tents and 3 tree houses/ huts. We could hear the breakfast buffet being prepared, our neighbors talking so we couldn't enjoy our time together as much as we would have liked because everything and everyone is so close to each other. I like my private life kept private, not for everyone to hear just because ""ill never see them again or don't know them"". I did like that they offer a complimentary shuttle service into town, you should order it at least 30 min before. As for the tents they are nice and cozy but our tent was full of ants for some reason, and when we showered the drain was semi clogged so just after 2 minutes the water would over flow and get all over. The fans would make the room cool enough at night but during the day we preferred staying in the pool or going into town, AC's are optional for an extra charge. The pool was beautiful overlooking the trees and listening to the nearby birds and nature which was nice and relaxing. The breakfast was nice and simple. I loved the freshly made jams and juices and the staff was always kind, helpful and had a smile on their faces. We didn't take a yoga lesson but i would recommend it or even if you know yoga to try out the yoga deck by the reception cause its beautiful all in its own. I would recommend that they invest in either training or obtaining an actual bar tender as the staff isn't equipped to make cocktails. Overall, it was a good experience, it just needs a few tweaks here and there."
