Had a lovely, lovely few days here. Resort itself is quite small so very personal. Pool is nice, huts were nice, restaurant was very nice. All in all a great way to spend a few days. Can definitely recommend.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "One of a Kind!"

Review by: Don1478 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I have never been to a place like 4 Rivers Floating Lodge. We were amazed by the spectacular view, the tranquility, and the over-all ambiance of the place. The travel going to the hotel was a little long from Phnom Penh but everything was worth it. I highly recommend 4 Rivers floating Lodge to people who just want to escape to a world of peace and quiet. The staff were great. I also loved the food that was served. But what I'm truly impressed about is that the operations of the hotel is sustainable and environmentally sound. Kudos. Stayed March 2017, traveled with friends"

Rachamankha: "Imagine you’ve got a very wealthy friend"

Review by: 770 | Source: Trip Advisor
".... and this friend invites you to stay at their house in Chiang Mai while they're away. You arrive crunching over the white gravel to a beautiful grand house, away from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. Your friend puts their staff at your disposal and says, feel free to use the pool, no one else does, oh and there's a decanter of brandy in the library if you fancy it while reading some books and magazines. This is what it's like staying at Rachamankha. Plus: Library! Breakfast (beautiful, tasty and endless)! Pool! Ambience! Downsides: rooms are OK, but no views, woken by dogs barking from neighbouring property, shower head too low if you're over 5ft10 and you can hear your neighbour going to the toilet in the next door room. Maybe I'm being too picky ...."

Mathis Retreat: "Excellent Boutique Hotel"

Review by: Thomas D | Source: Trip Advisor
"Me and my girlfriend (both 25 y/o from London) stayed at the Mathis Retreat for 5 nights. We thought it was fantastic and was everything we were looking for from our first visit to Bali. Room: We stayed in room 1, this was one of the bungalows and it was beautiful. (As in, we got that tingly feeling of excitement when we walked in!). The decor was tasteful, the room was cool and spacious and amenities such as shampoo and tea were provided. Food: The restaurant on site was fantastic. Breakfast is from a menu where you choose the things that you want, then they are cooked and brought to you. There is a good range of food and as we tried everything (more than once) we can confidently say it was all delicious. However, breakfast paled in comparison to just how great dinner was - arguably some of the nicest food we had during our 3 week stay. It is more expensive than most other places but is worth it particularly considering the environment and setting (see below). There is a great range of Indonesian and westernized food. Setting/Environment: If rice fields and nature is your jam then this place will certainly deliver. Sitting at the restaurant/in the pool and overlooking the fields is spectacular and on arrival will certainly give that wow factor. Truly the photos on TA do not do it justice. Staff: Everyone is lovely, it really is as simple as that. Even when waking the receptionist at 2:15 am (climbing Batur) he came out with a smile and did everything he could to help. Special shout out goes to Karen the manager who clearly makes an effort to talk to all the guests and provide insight into what can be done in Ubud and how to do everything you want to. Tours/Guides: We tried to do as much as we could for our stay in Ubud and think 5 days was the perfect amount of time. However, this was utilizing the guides provided by Karen who were superb and we would highly recommend using them as oppose to navigating the place yourself. In particular, we were very humbled by an opportunity to visit one of the guides homes and see how him, his family and their community live (they had a blacksmith, weaver and fighting chickens!). This was an eye opener into just how different life is for most locals in Bali and how tourism has changed things. Our guides name was 'Susa Wayan' get him if you can! Conclusion: Mathis Retreat was great and we can't really fault it. Staff made it clear they were there to help for any issue and would definitely go back if in that part of the world again. One final point - we paid 350k for the journey to the airport in kuta. Don't pay anymore than that (and you can probably get it cheaper!)"

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Peace, Tranquility & Comfort."

Review by: shirishnv | Source: Trip Advisor
"My title epitomises Neeleshwar Hermitage. This was our 3rd visit & it was as good or better than the previous 2 visits. For absolute peace, tranquility & as a stress buster from our hectic schedules Neeleshwar is the place to go to. The rooms are big & spacious, the bathrooms even bigger & a nice clean swimming pool. To add to this you have the beach & ocean right at your doorstep.... what more can one ask for. This beautiful resort is located 15mins from Bekal fort & a 2 hr drive from Mangalore in the quiet town of Neeleshwaram. Now coming to the staff, Jayan & his team have perfected the art of being perfect hosts. Hospitality oozes from them & they are ever smiling. The food has improved a lot since our last visit & they have more variety of dishes. Shashi & his team are willing to satisfy your taste buds. Basically 5 Stars to all the support staff.... Melbin, Rajitha, the head chef to name just a few. Thanks to all of them for making our trip memorable. Getting to see the Theyyam ritual was a added bonus."

Flower Island: "Second Home"

Review by: Luis E | Source: Trip Advisor
A paradise of rustic luxury where privacy and hospitality is 5 star. You can trek, hike, follow a trail path, visit a marine sanctuary, a pearl farm, a sustainable foundation or simply lounge around paradise the whole day. A gem of sacredness, nature is untapped and one can experience something magical or mystical with the resorts captivating beauty. A sanctuary when one can immerse and be one with nature. The Amazing gourmet-like food done buffet style but a must try is the pearl meat which is known as an aphrodisiac. Picture perfect sunrise and sunsets view can compete with the best in the world. One can leisurely walk around the island trail in just 25-35 minutes. Or go up the tower in 15-20mins. Most importantly are the people. The staff makes you feel you're at home. No need to lock your rooms, NOTHING gets lost. Leaving the island will bring you to tears and makes you look forward to coming back - home.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Perfect place to unwind and experience a tea plantation"

Review by: Boodle20 | Source: Trip Advisor
"What a wonderful place to finish an awesome trip to Sikkim and Darjeeling. The host and hostess, Faye and Will, greeted us after a very long drive from Yuksom, made longer by the landslides blocking the direct route. The Glenburn had sent a driver an hour and a half to meet us at a wonderful viewpoint with a delicious picnic as we were going to miss lunch. The rooms are all different and beautifully furnished. The evening meal served in a beautiful dining room around a large table where the guests can interact if they wish. We enjoyed a 2 and a half hour walk to the river through the tea plantation, with a well informed guide, where we were served a delicious lunch next to the two bedroomed lodge. I also had a massage in the spa which was amazing and so relaxing before being served afternoon tea and freshly made cakes on the verandah. This place is something special and I can recommend a visit to anyone who wants to experience tranquility with wonderful views of Darjeeling and Mt Kanchenjunga."
