Amata Lanna: "A quiet gem in the heart of Chiang Mai"
What a great find, quiet, clean and comfortable, and more than I was expecting. Thank you Yu for all your help, you were the perfect host. This hotel is very close to the night bazaar and restaurants. There are loads of travel shops advertising trips, but we used the nearest one just around the corner and had a great trip with them. The White Palace and the Black House are a must to see as they are so unique. On a rainy day we went to the 3D art exhibition at Art in Paradise, it was such good fun, and far more than an exhibition.Satri House: "Gorgeous hotel!"
We stayed at this hotel 4 nights and it was a very relaxing stay. The grounds are beautiful and the sculptures that are in the hotel and gardens are wonderful. The food at the hotel was good and I would recommend eating there one night. Loved Luang Prabang!Tugu Bali: "Delightful"
My family and I totally enjoyed our time at Hotel Tugu. Amazing entrance with a world class selection of Asian antiques. The rooms were amazing and the food and staff were all superb. Forget the traffic and congestion of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak and head to Cangguu. Their Japanese restaurant, JI, is a mustMuang La Lodge: "A stunning gem in a remote location"
"This unheralded, stunning resort is a great reward for the traveller who is prepared to undertake a relatively long road journey. Though arduous, that journey is not without some great experiences and vistas. Guided trips would be essential to help reveal the highlights along the way. Planning an extra night stay might appeal to those seeking even more pampering after their endeavours. The swimming pool is wonderful. The hot spring baths and massage service offer other opportunities for indulgence. The accommodation is beautiful and well designed. The beds are sumptuous. The river views are majestic. The restaurant provides fantastic meals, particularly the set five course dinner. The variety of tasty ethnic and local dishes each night was unique. Breakfast was excellent and personalized. The provision of gluten free pancakes demonstrated not only skills at improvisation but also determination to ensure guest satisfaction. For me it was a real bonus and very touching. The walk to the nearby village was great but knowing precisely where and how to access the exciting bamboo raft ferry back across the creek is recommended. The service was superb at all levels within the stablishment."Sandat Glamping Tents: "Really liked it but needs a little improvement"
"We were there on our honeymoon, i loved the pool and how quite it can be. The only downfall was that everything can be heard. The resort consists of 5 tents and 3 tree houses/ huts. We could hear the breakfast buffet being prepared, our neighbors talking so we couldn't enjoy our time together as much as we would have liked because everything and everyone is so close to each other. I like my private life kept private, not for everyone to hear just because ""ill never see them again or don't know them"". I did like that they offer a complimentary shuttle service into town, you should order it at least 30 min before. As for the tents they are nice and cozy but our tent was full of ants for some reason, and when we showered the drain was semi clogged so just after 2 minutes the water would over flow and get all over. The fans would make the room cool enough at night but during the day we preferred staying in the pool or going into town, AC's are optional for an extra charge. The pool was beautiful overlooking the trees and listening to the nearby birds and nature which was nice and relaxing. The breakfast was nice and simple. I loved the freshly made jams and juices and the staff was always kind, helpful and had a smile on their faces. We didn't take a yoga lesson but i would recommend it or even if you know yoga to try out the yoga deck by the reception cause its beautiful all in its own. I would recommend that they invest in either training or obtaining an actual bar tender as the staff isn't equipped to make cocktails. Overall, it was a good experience, it just needs a few tweaks here and there."Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Heaven on earth"
"We were two rather tired middle aged parents with two of our daughters (aged 18). Sea Dance could have been set up with just us in mind. One daughter is working out in Thailand and we came over with one of her sisters for three weeks. One of them was spent at Sea Dance and I was not joking when I told Faith that when the others left I would be hiding in the wardrobe and planned to stay forever. We booked into a double chalet. So we had two interconnecting double rooms each with gorgeous bathroom and our own private pool. Do not underestimate the bliss of a private pool. We are not talking an olympic monstrosity, even I only managed two strokes from one end to the other. On the other hand, at the end of the day we bobbed around in the pool in the warm evening sun with a G&T and the evils of work responsibilities etc melted away. We spent an afternoon with Doi (my apologies if my spelling is off) learning how to cook green curry, seafood salad and chicken and ginger stir fry. I don't care how experienced you are in the kitchen, this is worth doing. I have been cooking since I was about six, my mother is an expert in historical cooking with a library to match, there is little in the kitchen that surprises or scares me yet even I learned subtle and interesting tips. Back home a week or so I cooked Tom yum. Once I would have needed a recipe - Doi gave me the confidence to create it on my own and my super critical Tom Yum husband loved it! I also had a massage in the spa. This is not your run of the mill five star spa. This is an authentic, no English spoken, work out between you and your masseuse, spa. It was bliss. I had a several massages in thailand from the ""Oh heck put the stick away please"" foot massage in JJ market in Bangkok, to the ""oh please don't wake me up"" and ""I wasn't snoring"" massages in Chiang Mai. A bonus was that I bumped into Doi in her herb garden on my way back to our chalet. Doi gave me a guided tour around her garden, explained what she grew for the kitchen and what she grew for the spa. For an old fashioned gardener like me that was the most wonderful way to end the massage from heaven. there are any number of luxury hotels and resorts on Ko Samui. If you are looking for a personal touch, for a spot of luxury without bankruptcy and any number of wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly staff (Faith is worth twice her weight in gold at the very least) then come to Sea Dance. Or better still ...don't ...so that there will be room for us when we return. Stayed March 2017, traveled with family"Samanea Beach Resort: "Great place"
The pier is the star attraction, best place in Kep to experience sunset and because of the small amount of rooms available the resort is never crowded, there are always available beds around the pool. All in all affording a feeling of exclusivity rarely experienced at larger resorts.Labyrinth: "Fantastic Dining Experience"
Fantastic experience and very unique concept to local Singaporean food. I rang the restaurant 2 days earlier to check on the menu and mentioned we were celebrating my partner's birthday and the restaurant served us a cake with a candle at the end of the meal! That was really unexpected and a very pleasant evening. Thank you JosephMrauk U Princess Resort: "The best resort in Mrauk Oo"
You can't go wrong by booking a sister's resort of internationally acclaimed Inle Princess Resort. Great bungalows, friendly service, nice atmosphere. Definitely exceeds expectations for such a off the beaten track destination as Mrauk Oo.Sandat Glamping Tents: "WOW!! THE BEST HOTEL I’VE EVER STAYED IN!"
"Well what can I say, it was such an amazing experience I cried I was that overwhelmed. What beautiful, kind and caring people who actually meant it. Tengo the manager was by far my favourite who was so kind he made me cry at breakfast, I gave him the biggest hug when we left :) We was sadly only here for 3 days :( and had so much booked we didn't spend as much time at the hotel as we would of liked. I say hotel because it's far too lovely to be called glamping :) I had a yoga lesson first thing in the morning which was breath taking over looking the rice fields and a great teacher who corrected you when you were out of place. I also had a massage in my room which was the best massage I've ever had. We ate here twice and both times the food was superb along with their cocktails and wine and such a stunning setting, the owner really does have amazing taste, shabby chic but with immense attention to detail. The waitress's were also lovely and so sweet, would do anything for you. People moan about the location, but it clearly states it's not in the centre and offers a free shuttle bus which is basically a private taxi to 2 drop off points so really no need to moan there. We had a lovely driver one day who took us to the waterfall, holy temple and coffee plantation which I'd highly recommend. We got the shuttle to the monkey forest one day, if you're not scared do try and buy some bananas to feed them, it's a great experience when they jump on your shoulders, amazing creatures. The hotel offered to book the mount batur trip for us which is a MUST but i'd advise booking in the town, it's a quarter of the price and you get to do this with a group which is much more fun, keep in mind you have to be quite fit and there are no loos once you start climbing, but one of the best experiences of my life, incredible and breath taking views. Breakfast was beautifully laid out and they will cook you any eggs you like, omelette, pancakes, scrambled etc, some great healthy options too including bee polen for your cereal. Now if you are scared of creatures this place is not for you and they state that on their site, I loved it and really enjoyed the frogs hopping around and beautiful geckos, but they will be in your bathroom and may even visit at dinner, but hey this is why this is called glamping, you're in with nature and I think it's fantastic but like I said if if you're scared it's not for you. The rooms are out of this world with stunning furniture and outside bathroom and your pool which is shared or your own depending what you book is right outside your room which is great. I honestly can't express to you enough what an unbelievable experience this really was and was a sad moment to leave such a unique and beautiful place, I will defiantly return as Ubud completely stole a piece of my heart!"
