Chakrabongse Villas: "A tranquil haven in the middle of Bangkok"
"We stayed for the last night of our Asia tour and wished we had booked for longer. The Villa is a beautiful place in lush tropical gardens on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Diner and breakfast were superb and you really cant beat the view from the dining terrace. The staff were super friendly, making it all in all a lovely end to our trip. I hope their literary weekend was a success as they were all very excited to be hosting it and opening their doors to the general public for the 1st time."Tugu Lombok: "A place for privacy and serenity"
"My hubs and I wanted as short getaway in Lombok. We were looking forward to a quiet and relaxing time and Hotel Tugu delivers it. The resort is Balinese style with a lot of art collections since the owner, I heard is an art collector. The resort is within a huge open space fronting pristine white beach. The villa we stayed was comfortable, clean and cooling. Food in the resort was delicious and reasonably priced. The most outstanding part of this resort is its team of people. Everyone was highly service oriented, from the front manager to the pakcik cleaning the ground. we had lovely chats with some of them. An area they could improve was probably the spa. It felt more like a massage than a spa. Small touches like a foot wash before the massage and a cup of ginger tea would have improved the whole experience. But it is a tiny blip on an otherwise outstanding experience. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Cuisine Wat Damnak: "First Class Food"
Great restaurant in Siem Reap. World class food. just excellent. highly recommended. if you are in SR you should def go here.Amata Lanna: "Beautiful"
This small hotel is just wonderful- made of teak wood, it is traditional in style with all rooms centred around a beautiful courtyard with a swimming pool. The rooms are large and well appointed. We arrived on a cool day so the large spa tub was a delight for a warm relax. The staff are just delightful and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. There is the choice of shrimp or pork rice soup, or a western breakfast, as well as options for toast and fruit and juices. The mango sticky rice was a highlight and the coffee fabulous. We walk a lot, so we found it easy to walk to the old town (20 min), and the river is closer as is the Night Bizaar. The Anusan market is just to the north of the hotel- we found this a great walk through to the old town. Adored this place, highly recommend it and would stay here again.MesaStila Resort and Spa: "Beautiful place"
It is a beautiful place surrounded by nature. You would be able to hear birds singing and the wind blowing from morning to night. It is truly a relaxing place. The food at the restaurant is wonderful and the staffs are excellent. They are very attentive and will remember personal requests. It is a place to appreciate the history and the culture behind the resort. It is the place to enjoy the nature but if anybody is in to modern style they should think again.Maisons Wat Kor: "Gorgeous place to relax and have great food"
Gorgeous place, with tastefully decorated traditional Khmer houses around a pond filled with waterlillies. Excellent food, cosy chillout corners and a saltwater pool. The place is run by a wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable Cambodian couple. It is a 10 minute tuktuk ride from the town center, or a pleasant walk.Inle Princess Resort: "Beautiful hotel on a beautiful lake"
"Out canoe took us from the pier at Inle to our hotel. As we neared the hotel and passed a small hut, our boat slowed down and one of the hotel employees jumped onto the front with an oar. He steered the boat slowly and then started using his right leg to maneuver the oar while balancing on the edge of the boat with his left leg. He would use his hands to put the oar in the air, then use the heel of his foot to bring the oar back in and around through the water. It was amazing. I thought they were doing this especially for the tourists, but later we saw many, many fishermen doing the same thing. This is the way of the inhabitants of Inle. The boys learn this skill as soon as they begin to walk. What balance! The resort is owned by a local Shan family. And of course it is right on the lake. Inle Princess Hotel is in the midst of nature surrounded by tropical gardens and lily ponds. The rooms themselves are traditional pyinkado (a Myanmar hardwood), teak and bamboo thatched houses. The dining room overlooks a large deck which overlooks the water. What a perfect place to sit in the evening, have a drink and watch the sun set. We checked in, were greeted with a warm towel (this was the custom at all the hotels), served some tea, were escorted to our room. Each room is a hut with tall ceilings, a large bed with a canopy (later, when we returned from dinner, the entire bed was surrounded by the canopy for warmth and to keep the bugs out. It was like sleeping in a cocoon). There is a sitting area and a big fireplace. Our view is of the mountains as the lake view rooms were not available. But still beautiful. After spending the day on the lake, we got back to the hotel just in time to go the bar, order a fancy Mandalay Rum drink and watch the magnificent sunset. The sky burst into flames of red, orange, pink, purple. And all that color reflected into the water. A beautiful way to end the beautiful day. Dinner had to be at the hotel as obviously you can’t get anywhere. It got cold once the sun the down and we were glad to have our fleece sweaters. A light down jacket would have been great. The locals all wear them! The food was delicious, the menu with beautiful paintings, the room surrounded by ovens. After dinner, back in our room, the fireplace had been lit with coals, the room was toasty, the minibar was free, our bed was surrounded by the cocoon and all was well. This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay."Jing’s Residence: "A wonderful experience in the old city of Pingyao"
"A truly wonderful experience. Jings is located in a traditional Pingyao building. When you arrive the outside is a timber facing with large solid wooden doors. In reception there is a very strong feel of wood. The reception staff could not be more professional, helpful and caring. All staff spoke English. The rooms are set around two courtyards and these grey brick buildings have a very original feel. Our room had a large double bed on a raised area, sofa, chair, and desk with stool. The bathroom has a shower. The room has a mini bar (free of charge), mini safe, tea/coffee making facilities and very quiet air conditioning. Breakfast served in the dining room was very good and had local as well as western options. Nice and tranquil. On the first floor of the main reception dining area there is a bar and reading room. Afternoon tea was served there (included in the room rate). The hotel is just a few moments stroll from a host of restaurants and tourist shops. I am very pleased to recommend this residence if you want a truly authentic experience in most pleasant surroundings. Thank you to all the staff team for making our stay so enjoyable."Bassac Cruises: "Relaxing Mekong Delta cruise"
"Unfortunately, we only did a one night cruise on the Bassac 3. We really liked the cabins, the food, the staff - all was very harmonious. Our guide Annie came from the Mekong Delta and when you walk through a local village you pass her auntie's house. We had a great relaxing trip and would definitely recommend a cruise with a Bassac boat."Manda De Laos: "Great food and setting"
My wife and I visited the restaurant and enjoyed a really nice meal. The Lilly Pond is beautiful and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely return.
