Muang La Lodge: "A surreal dream in the midst of rural Laos – and so child-friendly"

Review by: SandraKubota | Source: Trip Advisor
"We absolutely LOVED it! Room with river-view was wonderfully serene, the 5-course dinner was thoughtful and delicious (loved their vegetarian versions, so flexible!), and our hearts were warmed by the sincere care and support the whole team - from guard to managers - showed towards (us and) our almost 2-yr-old son. We can whole-heartedly recommend the hotel to other families with small children. Also, we were really astonished by the loving thoughtfulness which was put into every detail of our stay, starting with flowers and a hand-written note for our wedding anniversary and ending with an email to check if our flight really worked out...just amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We´ll come back! Stayed March 2017, traveled with family"

Satri House: "Beautiful quiet hotel"

Review by: wards885 | Source: Trip Advisor
Our plane arrival was two hours late and Satri House was there to pick us up on arrival. The service was kind, friendly, and gracious throughout our stay. Navi, the guest services manager was present to offer dining suggestions and answer any questions we might have. All of the staff were excellent. The hotel is arranged in beautiful gardens and pools around a Lao prince's residence. The furnishings and interiors are antiques and one of a kind art pieces. It is almost like staying in an art museum. The impressions are fantastic. The food in the dining room was excellent. We had dinner twice and breakfast every morning. It is good value for money. We used the hotel bicycles to go sight seeing which was fun. It was overall a wonderful experience. We stayed in room 622 which was large, artfully arranged, and quiet, with both air conditioning and a ceiling fan which we loved.

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A really beautiful hotel"

Review by: ADix16 | Source: Trip Advisor
"The Blue Mansion is such a beautiful hotel. The history, decor and ambiance are so relaxing. The staff were very friendly and willing to help with anything. It's in a good location and they also lend you push bikes to go exploring on. There were so many thoughtful details eg in the presentation, room ""turn down"" with cake tin, and homemade jams and marmalades for breakfast. Fantastic. Room Tip: My room was on the supposed ""loud side"" but it didn't bother me. I could hear the kara..."

Tugu Lombok: "Happy Place"

Review by: Kempes_12 | Source: Trip Advisor
Spent 4 days at Hotel Tugu at the end of a brief trip around Indonesia with the family. This is an excellent hotel on the beach. It has some amazing buildings and antiques which make it unique but the best bit is the happy and attentive staff. The kids even got taught how to make animals from the bath towels by the housekeeper. Also ideal for golf at nearby course and, of course, beach activities like snorkelling.

Sukoon Houseboat: "paradise"

Review by: Orbitaleee | Source: Trip Advisor
We had a lovely time at Sukoon. High end houseboat with heating, fancy bathroom with a bath - it is a five star experience. It has a lovely sun deck - perfect to lounge in the evening sun, read a book, just watch life go by and sundowners. It is in one corner of the Dal lake so pretty private. Highly recommended!

Manda De Laos: "Great experience, great celebration and great food"

Review by: Chingsabung | Source: Trip Advisor
"Went there yesterday evening for my wife secret birthday so emailed the restaurant few weeks ago as we knew we would be in Luang Prabang that specific day. The restaurant manager replied really promptly confirming dates hours etc. The restaurant looks stunning and give you a first great impression. Our good surprise was to find out that the restaurant manager gave us the special table in the middle of the pond so you get your privacy. I didn't know even myself so was really impressed and happy. Makes it quite romantic and perfect for the occasion. Food also was great, we had lao pork meatballs to start to share, for main we had the ribs and duck, was delicious. For desert we were full so shared a lovely coconut creme brulee. Then came another surprise after our desert with staff bringing another desert with candle and singing happy birthday. Such a nice and sweet attention mainly when I did not ask for anything but manager had the note from my reservation it was special occasion. We truly enjoyed our dinner and can only recommend it. Not a criticism as it did not affect our happiness but small constructive information, the cocktail menu has lots of vodka based drinks (all expect one based on whisky). Unfortunately that's the only alcohol my wife does not drink so would be nice to have other cocktail options. The other thing more informative for people who have never been, the food is quite refine and we would usually not go when travelling in South East Asia. It was mainly because it was special occasion for us so if you are like us you might not enjoy it but again all was amazing. It is definitely more expensive than average Lao prices but not overpriced for the service and food we had. Just thought I would mention this as I saw some bad reviews on this place which I think is more due to choosing not suitable place than the restaurant itself not being great. Hope that make sense. Basically just enjoy this amazing restaurant."

Glenburn Tea Estate: "New Year’s Eve"

Review by: Ajit K | Source: Trip Advisor
A boutique property in the midst of the tea estate with captivating views of Mt Kanchenjunga. The 19th century built cottages are luxurious and remind of the English countryside. One can spend the entire day relaxing and sun bathing in the beautiful lawn gazing at the variety of flora and the majestic mountain ranges. They offer various hikes exploring the nearby villages walking though the tea estates with expert in-house guides. Must visit property if one wishes to get pampered in the most beautiful of locales.

Locavore: "Spectacular Food, Great Cocktail Pairings, Beautiful Service"

Review by: mbaas | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is absolutely a place to be highly recommended. We went for the seven course meal with cocktail pairings and were definitely not disappointed. The restaurant is located on a busy street in the center of Ubud but inside its an oasis of quiet and style. Before the actual seven course meal started several amuses were served, all highly innovative, delicious and interesting. The menu changes regularly and I think there's little point going over the individual dishes but here's a couple of things to note: - There's a seven and a five course meal. If you are not a big eater five might be more than enough since there will also be some amuses and extras. - The restaurant does an all-vegetarian variety of the seven/five course meal. In case you can't choose, it's perfectly fine to have one and your partner the other. Courses are served at the same time but do come with other cocktail pairings. - The cocktail pairings are really a treat. However don't think of them as regular cocktails, more like smaller/less potent versions (so you won't be completely drunk at the end of the evening). - If you rather have wine with your meal the restaurant has an interesting wine list. - - Cocktail pairings for two equal roughly two bottles of house wine to give you an indication of prices. - We paid about four million Indonesia Rupiah (or four hundred Singapore dollars). For that we had two cocktails to start with, one veg and one non-veg seven-course meal, plus cocktail pairings. Absolutely worth it."

Review by: Cécile D | Source: Trip Advisor
"A really place, quite ans sophisticated in a very quite area, next to Battambang, Beautiful décoration in traditional khmer houses. The atmosphère in the evening with the small lac illuminated is Wonderfull. Also we loved the restaurant : very good and cheap. It is better to stay there than to go to Battambang. Can be good for a long stay to enjoy the area."
