Jings-residence: "Feeling Welcome In Beauttiful Surroundings"
Jing's Residence in the charming old town of Pingyao is one of a kind. It has all the attributes one wishes a hotel would possess, but rarely encounters in real life. For one thing, I was struck by the extremely appealing aesthetics of the compound, with its inner courtyards, its beautiful rooms/suites with all the amenities one would desire, its upstairs library with computers, its excellent restaurant... It is, however, the atmosphere of the place, the way you feel welcome and the sense that the staff cares about your well-being that really makes Jing's Residence such a unique and pleasing experience. My only regret is that, because of our tight schedule, we could not stay a few extra days and imbibe more of this relaxing, yet invigorating atmosphere.Rachamankha: "My favorite"
"My second visit to his wonderful hotel. The rooms are simple and roomy and the building feels like a piece of history. Lovely staff and a great bar. Best gin and tonic in Thailand? The local Thai breakfast option was delicious and interesting. Definitely worth a try as it's so different to what we expect from Western breakfast. Pool is quiet. No kids! Great!"Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Beautiful resort"
A beautiful khmer house with Very nice green garden with small pond, my first impression is staffs are very friendly and warm welcome. Nice swimming pool big enough for inhouse guest. Room are spacious will full of amenities. I will come back again in the future trip in Battambang.Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "The best"
We stayed here for two nights and it was wonderful. The individual room is beautifully design and has their own little balcony. The food at the restaurant is excellent. The reception has a great library. It is good to know you are supporting the local community as well. One of the drawback is that given it is so ecofriendly, we kept hearing noises from various animal on our roof which disturb our sleep a little bit.Chakrabongse Villas: "An Oasis Along the Chao Phraya River"
This is simply an oasis, tucked behind gates in a garden setting on the property of a member of the extended royal family. We felt that we were treated like royalty ourselves by Atom and Ohm. They were both so kind and helpful. The property has a resplendent landscaping of fountains, a long trellised archway with potted orchids that leads to the restaurant, which was lighted at night, and a nice private swimming pool surrounded by landscaping. We stayed nine nights and enjoyed the Mali room. The room had all the amenities of a fine large resort but with a more charming character. The room was large enough to be comfortable. We like the coffee bar just outside our room and found it nice to come back and have an English cup of tea after our day tours. The bathroom was kept tidy with fresh towels everyday, and supplied with a nice quality of shampoo, conditioner and lotions should need them. The restaurant overlooking the river is simply elegant. The breakfast was very good and the dinners were sublime. They also have a driver that they arranged to pick us up and return us to the airport for a fair price. This was so nice after a 12 hour flight to be met at the airport, by simple instructions, instead of getting a random cab. The hotel helped us confirm the time of our tour pickups each day we were taking a tour by calling the tour operator on our behalf. They would help us to get reservations at other restaurants when their restaurant was not open. We appreciate their kind and caring assistance. We enjoyed our experience so much that when we return to Bangkok we will stay at Chakrabongse, and so should you.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Once in a lifetime experience"
We only had one night at the camp but the experience will never be forgotten. The entire family loved it. The tents are basic enough to feel like you are properly camping but very comfortable (lighting, proper beds, camp shower, proper loos etc.). The staff are absolutely amazing - they really understand service and are completely focused on ensuring you have a good time from the moment you arrive. We did two game drives, 3 hours each, one in the evening and one (very) early in the morning. Both were fun and informative (enough to keep a 10 year old and 13 year old engaged) but the morning one was the highlight. We spotted a leopard and sat and watched it for 5 minutes as it walked right past our car. The food at the cap is truly fantastic. eating outside under the stars with other guests and telling tales of our safari was a real highlight. Danu was out guide and a complete professional. He knew every plant, bird and animal and was full of interesting information. The kids loved him. They run a really good operation, leopards cant be guaranteed but you will not be disappointedDavid’s Kitchen: "Lovely, thoughtful restaurant"
We came to David's after a long day at the elephant sanctuary in search of a little pampering, and David's did not disappoint. They kindly picked us up from our hotel which was very nice and convenient. The ambiance is very peaceful and beautifully decorated. It is apparent that David cares very much about each guest's experience and there is much attention to detail. Cocktails were amazing! The staff are very attentive and I would recommend coming here for a special evening you won't forget. Thank you David for making our last night in Chiang Mai so memorable!Jing’s Residence: "best hotel in Pingyao"
Manager and staffs are like family, provide invisible care when staying. Decent decoration, low key, quiet, with the best combination of sense of traditional beauty and modern experience design. A must staying place in Pingyao.CABOCHON: "The Friendliest place in BKK"
"I do not have enough words for how much I liked this hotel. I was traveling alone with a 10 month old baby (something that can be a bit hard from time to time as you have noone to share the work with). At Cabochon we had a great shelter to return to from the busy streets. Even though I love the whole style of this hotel I still think that the team is what makes it really really special. They are genuine friendly and independent and cared so much for us. Everyone is child friendly. I was able to arrange babysitting with them to go to a spa one evening. On top of this they have a great restaurant attached to the hotel which I can highly recommend. Since everyone wanted to play with my son I was also able to enjoy a peaceful dinner on my own which was quite nice. Breakfast is a treat and you can choose from a selection of breakfast types. We enjoyed an asian breakfast and it was my favourite on this journey. Apart from this the hotel is just beautiful and has a calm and cool colonial flair in the middle of the hot and dirty city. We enjoyed our stay at Cabochon so much that I can not praise this hotel enough! "Rachamankha: "Best place in the old city of Chiang Mai"
"Great location in the old town. Beautifull hotel. Charming and only 25 rooms. Nice room. Great restaurant with great food. Again the waiters do not speak english. How is this posible in a 5 star hotel? Nice pool but very bad hard chairs and no service at the pool the first day we were there. Breakfast is efficiently served A la carte. A bit strange; paper on the table during breakfast. Feels like we are in a cheap Chinese restaurant. In all the best place in the Old City."
