"This has to be one of the best places we have ever been. So relaxing & looked after with great surroundings with also plenty of things to do with the kids. That is what a holiday is all about. The beach is so clear and perfect for kids as is not too deep! The architecture in this resort is breathtaking and the rooms are luxuries. When you walk in you will be amazed! "Cabochon Hotel is a hidden gem! A hotel with great service and unique atmosphere!. We spent 4 nights with our 3 young boys and everything was delightful, from check-in to assistance in dealing with activities, to great food. We enjoyed a 2 interconnecting bedroom which was ideal for the family. Swimming pool on the roof is the cherry on the cake and works really well with kids! "We stayed a couple of nights at this hotel and it is really special. Right on the Saigon River and in District 2 of Ho Chin Minh. The service was really good and the location is perfect. You can catch the hotel boat shuttle directly to the main district 1 if required. The area around the hotel is quiet and we found some really nice restaurants. "We came to the River Resort after a somewhat disappointing Mekong Cruise and felt we had landed in heaven. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern, the view of the river was beautiful. Dinner was excellent and since we had to leave before the restaurant opened in the morning they gave us a very good breakfast box. "We stayed in double bedroom apartment (4 people) and had a wonderful stay. Building and decoration of exquisite taste, remarkable artifacts you would not find in standard hotels, rooms in pre-existing local houses, refurbished with attention. Location is half way between crowded city center and Ankor Wat - tuktuk is definitely needed but arranged by the staff. Food is really good, and staff really helpful - they were kind enough to arrange for us a barbecue after an event outside. Very nice! The pool is very comfortable and enjoyable. Wow Borneo is very well run. The boats are clean, modern and the crew fantastic. The food is without a doubt 5 star. The 2 owners are really committed to giving you the very best service. I have been 3 times now on the boat. You see the orangutans up close and its such an intimate experience. You enter by small boat to see them. The Dayak villages are so beautiful and keep their old ways. Its a great trip. Such a beautiful part of the world.Muang La Lodge: "Super get away."
"Great small lodge right on the river Ou. Indeed the swimming pool is on an island in the middle of the river that you get to via a wooden bridge. Lovely big rooms (somewhat like a Lao 'Tudor' look with all white and dark exposed timbers). Super meals ... dinner is a 5 course degustation. There is a natural hot spring that the locals use, and the lodge has permission to pump from the spring into two huge baths on small towers for the use of guests from 4.30.pm when it is still 42C - let it cool into evening a little! Great local market if you want to rise at 5.30am and have a bit of a stroll into the village. Don't miss a trip to the hill tribes. This is a truly wonderful place to arrive at after a week of trekking (with sometimes hilarious hospitality conditions!). Or indeed just to arrive at after the hurly burly of Kathmandu! Marcus oversees a superb hotel with glorious views, beautiful lodge-style rooms and simple home-cooking. It is with some reluctance that I left, and to my disappointment now back home, there is no thoughtfully placed hot water bottle in bed at the end of the day, or mosquito net drawn to envelop me and my dreams.Amata Lanna: "Paradise"
"Beautiful small hotel in Chiang Mai - only 12 georgeous rooms. Very warm welcome & and wonderful surprise when we were shown to our rooms - even better than the photos that we had seen prior to booking. Rooms are spacious, v tastefully decorated in traditional dark wood & the bathroom hosts both a jacuzzi bath & a shower. Outside areas are compact but leafy & relaxing, & the pool is very small offers welcome respite from the hot temperatures. Stayed here for business and then my husband joined. In district 2 away from the hub bub but still close to everything. Walking distance to great food and a short ride to the center. The hotel is on the river and you will start your day with a lovely made to order breakfast outside with a view. The hotel anticipates your every need and is beautiful inside and out. Would definitely stay again.
