Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "A brilliant stay at the Cabochon Hotel"
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Cabochon Hotel and already cannot wait to return. A 5-10 minute walk from Phrom Phong BTS station off Sukhumvit- the location was ideal. Close to public transport, restaurants and shopping. The hotel is incredibly beautiful and filled with antiques and interesting things to look at. It was wonderful to return to such a calm and quiet space after a busy day out in the city. We stayed in a studio room and found it to be perfectly adequate for our needs. The bed and linen was comfortable, the air conditioning great and the general design of the room and furniture extremely chic. Breakfast is served from 7:00am to 10:00pm and we loved the continental buffet as well as the a la carte choices which included both Asian and Western options. The staff are extremely friendly and couldn't help us enough. They answered all our questions and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We will definitely stay at the Cabochon on our future visits to Bangkok and will be telling all our friends and family about it too!Villa Song: "Villa Song Excels"
It is not at all surprising that former patrons of Villa Song are so enthusiastic about this boutique hotel. It is located in a quiet part of Saigon and has river frontage. The hotel is very well appointed, with friendly staff and very good food. A private (free) water taxi can quickly take you to the heart of Saigon thus avoiding the crazy city traffic. The rooms are large and our bed was very comfortable. My only concern was the steep spiral stair case to the top (3rd) floor bedrooms. This can be a bit of a challenge with those with knee/hip issues, as there is no lift. Do not miss the large swimming pool that is located at the rear of the hotel. If you are wanting a boutique quality hotel in Saigon, then this is it.SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Superb Setting and Service"
We were at Seeds for our last meal before leaving Myanmar. It was a very satisfying lunch. The setting was serene, the menu was great, the presentation beautiful, the service was impeccable, and the food was innovative and tasty! I would highly recommend a meal here. We will definitely come here again. The Village House: "Relaxing romantic retreat"
"My boyfriend and I drove down to this getaway after an afternoons walk around Bako park. We found this place through agoda and thought we should give it a shot. Fair warning, the place is very hidden and it does not look like much from the outside. There is no sign at the gate, but since it was google-able, we called the hotel straightaway to get clarifications on the place. Sure enough we found the place! When we arrived, we thought maybe we would be the only ones there, because of how isolated it was... but come dinner time, a few other couples came out of their rooms.. dinner was delicious The staff was polite and kind. However I must commend the service and kindness they gave. We checked out and left for kuching city and had forgotten my shoes behind. One of the staff offered to bring them to town as he was going to the main office. I was sooo thankful for that! Was pretty bummed in the car thinking we had to drive 50mins up to Santubong again and back down to town again. So, thank you very much for bringing my shoes to me! Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Tugu Malang: "Wonderful Heritage Hotel"
"This is a 5 star hotel and more on the expensive side. We stayed here two nights and were very content. The reason we decided to stay here was because they have a room that the first president of Indonesia, Sukarno, used to stay in. You can see his room on request. They also have a lot of historical indonesian objects on display like a full gamelan set which you also get to play, an original tea room with complimtary teatime and snacks, breakfast was included and you have the choice between continental breakfast and indonesian breakfast (both are excellent). Our room was pristine with crisp linen sheets and has ac. The shower and toilet is outside and feels very exotic with all the plants. On your arrival you get a complinentary drink and fruit. The staff is very friendly and help you with anything you need. What we especially liked about the hotel was that all the packaging wasn't plastic. They used natural material. We would definetely stay here again if we could."The Governor’s House: "An oasis in Phnom Penh"
"Went to Phnom Penh for 3 nights on a business trip. This was my second trip to the city and checked into The Governor's House. Initially somewhat difficult to locate which caused some distress. However, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Tucked away just off a main thoroughfare, it is an oasis from the mad traffic of Phnom Penh. The establishment has only 12 rooms. After all it was a residence. And it certainly retained that warm homely feel. Once inside gate, one would enter into an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity - save for the play school next door. One may be deceived to think that this is an isolated location. There is a local market within a few minutes walk which offers a very interesting insight into the local life. I would recommend a morning visit. The establishment staff are warm and friendly adding to the homely atmosphere. While The Governor's House lacks the upscale look of other establishments near the tourist area closer to the river and palace, the warmth and tranquillity of this establishment more than make up for it. I will be coming back to The Governor's House again, soon."MesaStila: "Magelang’s hidden paradise"
I've lost my words to describe how beautiful this resort is.. tranquilizing, mesmerizing, friendly staff, great details on the decorations, very private, we're fallen for the beautiful bathtub in the bathroom with the scenery of mount Andong, i'm looking forward to visit Mesastila again with my big familyCuisine Wat Damnak: "Best Meal – Must Eat Here"
"Spectacular experience! Food, setting, service - all were perfect. The chef really draws on Cambodian flavors and seasonal fruit and vegetables, and combines them in an impeccably thought-out menu. The fish and seafood dishes were particularly delicious - although we loved everything we ate. You could easily pay three or four times the price for this standard of menu in the US. I cannot recommend Cuisine Wat Damnak highly enough. They were very accommodating of my pescatarian diet. And it was such a charming and relaxed dining experience. Ps. Opt for the fan seating rather than the A/C as the fan seating is in the more charming upstairs of the restaurant. Make reservations at least a few weeks in advance. I would also recommend the tamarind collins if you would like a cocktail with dinner."Tugu Bali: "Mr Roni Braitanbaum"
"It was an amazing experience . The staff were so professional and polite and try all the time to make sure we are ok . The variety of art collection is amazing .The facilities were so comfortable and clean . The rooms were very large with outdoor shower and fish pond . The food was great. I highly recommend to stay in the Bali Tugu."Villa Mathis: "Truly Memorable!"
We stayed a total of 4 nights and proved to be the most romantic and relaxing getaway. The GM Chris and his staff was very warm and attentive to our every needs. We especially enjoyed our romantic dinner under the stars, complete with a Balinese massage and a flower bath. The resort is beautifully laid out and decorated, like a magical oasis. The location from Semanyak was perfect so that you could visit the bustling shopping area and restaurants in less than 30 minutes from the quiet surroundings of the resort. I would highly recommend Villa Mathis to any couple (and even families) for an ideal getaway to beautiful Bali.
