Maison Polanka: "Luxury and pracefulness"
My wife and I visited in March and stayed in the separate room beside the dining and pool area. The service was excellent, as were the facilities. The staff were always helpful and we always felt we were returning to a luxurious retreat every time we came back from a day of temples and walking in the heat. We would happily stay again.Villa Song Saigon: "The best hotel in Saigon"
"Our stay was wonderful, this is a truly beautiful hotel with great views of the river. The restaurant and food was terrific and most importantly the staff are extremely fantastic and also extremely helpful. In particular the managers were always great with helping out with referrals or last minute tours. Stayed February 2017, traveled with family"Tugu Bali: "tranquil, beautiful hotel with impeccable service"
Absolutely loved this hotel. So well looked after by the gorgeous staff. Fabulous food with breakfast served anywhere anytime in your choice of private enclaves around the hotel. It was a peaceful & beautifully appointed hotel that has tons of Indonesian charm - stunning gardens & antiques. Husband & son were happy to go out surfing, but I didn't want to leave the tranquility of Tugu.JL Studio: "Memorable experience"
"We went to JL Studio to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. The booking process took a while because the phone number is used by the restaurant below and there was some kind of miscommunication, however, all was sorted out. Upon arrival, we were greeted by staff, sat down and offered drinks. I'm quite a talker and it was great that the staff were so friendly and easy to talk to. Our waiter explained to us about the meal that we would soon try. The thing that he made very clear to us is that the progression of meals would be like a journey, that was definitely the perfect way to explain it. Over the 8 or 9 courses, the meal progression was perfectly set up, the flavors were well defined and everything was delicious. When the signature dish came out, the vision was explained to us by Chef Jimmy himself. He stayed a few minutes and spoke to us which was a very nice gesture. I told him that one of my favorite Singaporean dishes was chill crab. He told me that upon my next visit, I'd just need to mention it to him and he would prepare it for me, again, the feeling of importance that he gave me was a nice touch. I'll definitely be going back, hopefully for my own birthday this November."Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Dreams don’t come better than this!"
"In the quiet most northern part of Kerala directly overlooking the Arabian Sea exists this hidden jewel. If it's night life and hustle and bustle you're after, this is not the place for you, but if you’re seeking a place without music playing, with miles of empty beaches and total relaxation in quiet luxurious surroundings, then you've hit the jack pot. We stayed for 2 weeks over Christmas and New year and observed the managers, both of the hotel and restaurant, running this establishment with discreet panache. They pay impeccable attention to detail so that from the moment of arrival every possible requirement is taken care of. The staff are incredible - gracious and hardworking but without being obsequious. It seemed as if nothing was too much trouble for them, and indeed on one occasion, I asked the pool waiter for a coconut drink and without my knowing it, he went and picked a coconut for me from one of the nearby coconut palm trees. It was my husband's birthday whilst we were there, and again they managed to make it a very special day for him. The food is simply delicious- wonderful breakfasts, fresh crayfish eaten under the stars, delicious exotic smooothies brought to you by the pool, pots of tea with freshly baked biscuits brought to your veranda. We also took advantage of the excellent serious Ayurvedeic treatments available as well as having having some clothes made by their in-house tailor. We had the good fortune to go on their own houseboat for a couple of nights. This is the stuff of dreams, the kind of experience that memories are made of. The only small gripe was that certain residents began to put their towels on the best sun beds before breakfast and this set off a sun bed war for a period time. However, this is human nature and not the fault of the management. This is a low key 'Claridges -by- the- Arabian -Sea' with a dash of bohemianism; a place where one can walk barefoot, literally and mentally,in a state of deep cosseted relaxation. All that made it bearable to leave was knowing that we will be back. If anyone reading this is hesitant about going, don't be. Book it now! Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"Les Maisons Wat Ko: "“Maison Wat Kor – Peaceful, beautiful, welcoming”"
This is a small, simple hotel, where the emphasis is on the setting, the lake, the garden, the service rather than in-room facilities. The rooms are quite simple, but perfectly comfortable, with all the facilities you reasonably need, and mostly look over a wonderful little lake with waterlilies and all kinds of flowers. There is a small restaurant serving simple but beautifully prepared food, and offering three set breakfasts - all very well judged. The most notable thing, however, is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - they really make you feel as if you were in your own home. We cannot recommend if highly enough - we really didn't want to leave!Slow Villas and Spa: "Absolutely wonderful stay"
The minute I walked in, I felt relaxed. It was quiet and peaceful. The villa was well equipped - I did like the outside bathroom too! Room was very comfortable and it was good that water was provided for drinking. Breakfast was good, and a great start to the day sat by our pool. We enjoyed our massage in the new spa too. It was easy to get around the island with the bikes provided. Staff were super helpful over booking our transfer back to Bali too. Loved the private pool and sun loungers - felt so relaxed by the end of our stay! I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you!Heritage Suites: "Great choice"
My wife booked us for long weekend holiday to Siem Reap. There are certainly lower priced options. Slightly quirky including vintage vehicle transfer from airport. It was a 1968 Mercedes which had seen better days but charming nonetheless. Service was sincere, attentive and charming. Room was nicely appointed but slightly awkward setup for couple with teenage daughter. For cpuples itvwoukd be easier. Rollaway bed was not cheap but setup when we arrived. Minor issues like power outage and dead telephone were quickly resolved. Had one lunch, 2 breakfast and drinks in restaurant. Certainly cheaper outside but good service and great food/wine made it worthwhile. Lots of other great reviews. Add mine to the list.Manda De Laos: "Beautiful setting"
Striking setting... the large wooden decks over the ponds, the lights and colors... it is a unique place in Luang Prabang. Pan-asian cuisine, original presentation and attentive service: Manda de Laos must be on the list of gourmet romantic diners when visiting Luang Prabang.Jings Residence: "Fabulous peaceful retreat in Pingyao"
A superb hotel - with attentive staff, very well appointed rooms and food second to none. The traditionally laid out courtyard, with room off it, provides a serene haven for recovery after a long journey (you must have travelled a long way to get to PIngyao!). The staff - led by Imam - are quietly attentive seeing to all of your needs. The room are well appointed and comfortable. If you can, eat in - the standard of food is the very highest. I wish there were more places like this!
