Tandjung Sari: "Nice surprise"
"We spent three nights in Tandjung Sari. Everything was excellent. The room very nice and confortable, the quality of the food very good. The building is very fascinating and rich of history. The garden beautiful and peaceful. We appreciated the quality of the service. The staff was very nice and friendly with our daughters. The path along the beach is very beautiful and you can enjoy the view in every moment of the day. It was a really nice surprise for us."Talabgaon Castle: "A peaceful stay in a beautiful heritage property"
"This property is just fabulous. We were there for two nights and I must say we had a lovely time there. The place was so calm and the ambience was amazing. The food was delicios and the staff really courteous, always at your disposal to make sure you dont have any issues. Since it was my parents 25th Anniversary, tey happily arranged a cake and a beautiful table at the terrace so that we could welcome the occassion under the sky full of stars. I must salute the staff for the cleanliness they have maintained. And last bust not the least, the owner is really humble and polite. He too comes, and spends sometime with you and makes you feel at home. All in all, A must visit!!!"The Island Lodge: "A charming adress in Mekong"
After a vibrant week end in Saigon, the island lodge is the perfect place to be : stunning view on the mekong river, just wildness around, an amazing lodge with only 12 bedrooms, lovely decorated in the spirit of the old 'indochine', superb bathroom and a terrace on the river to relax. The swimming pool is beautiful, cristal clear, and you can enjoy a jacuzzi, a sauna and also a typical spa for great vietnamese massages. Michel and Francoise, the french owners will ensure that everything is made for you with a true sign of details and perfection. If you want to pick a unique adress along the Mekong, the island lodge is the place to be ! We left by boat to Cai be and the lodge had organized a nice pack lunch on the boat....what a pleasure !Samanea Beach Resort: "Beautiful resort, lovely staff."
Upon arrival really all we could do was say "wow". Samanea Resort is utterly beautiful, it is like being invited into someone's personal retreat. The resort is made up of bungalows dotted amongst lovely gardens, there is a lovely pool area and a small (man-made, not that it made any difference) beach, and a long pier going out over the sea. The restaurant/bar is lovely, with tall doors thrown wide to the views. The menu is fairly restrictive but we ate there several times and everything was perfectly presented and totally delicious. The staff are attentive without being overwhelming (for 2 days we were the only guests!) and very friendly. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean, the bathroom with the outside shower/bath area was very nice, my son and his wife absolutely loved it. It was a bit pricier than some other options we could have chosen but we all really enjoyed our stay. Located a 10 min tuk-tuk ride from the centre of Kep, but the hotel staff rang tuk-tuk's for us whenever was needed one, and the price was fixed at a reasonable rate. Due to the bungalows being within a garden setting we did find that there were quite a few bugs and creepy crawlies made their way inside, but nets over the beds and cans of spray were provided. All in all, it is a very beautiful place to stay, wonderfully peaceful and relaxing while you are there, and not too far from town if you want to go out.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Wonderful food, setting & service"
Don't know why this is not No. 1 restaurant in Siem Reap. Have been 3 times in last 5 months and tried many other upmarket restaurants, this is by far the best. Flavours of Cambodian food explode in your mouth in a wonderful tasting presentation by the French chef. Other Cambodian restaurants try and some are very good but this is miles ahead of all others. Can't wait to go back. The Cabochon Hotel: "Lovely small hotel"
"Old colonial style boutique hotel with friendly staff. Quiet location on side street. Lovely rooms with interesting furniture and artefacts. Small pool on roof. Lovely smell of burning candles throughout. Cute little restaurant if you don't feel like walking out. Good Thai food plus western options available. Breakfast was good too. Good wifi connection. "Satri House: "Perfection in Luang Prabang"
"We recently stayed three nights at the beautiful Satri House and loved every bit of our stay. The hotel seems straight out of a travel magazine as it is decorated very stylishly but simply, without skimping on luxury. It's a quiet oasis to return to after a day of sightseeing - have a beer Lao and a relaxing swim at the beautiful pool! The location is ideal - just a few minutes bike ride to town, and on a quiet street away from the main drag. The staff is wonderful: kind, attentive, and one of the best parts of the stay. They easily made dinner reservations and arranged private excursions; they even went out of their way to get us bubble wrap for things we had bought. No complaints at all about this gem of a hotel in beautiful Luang Prabang - can't wait to return one day!"Tugu Bali: "Luxury By The Beach In The Heart of Canggu"
"The history of Hotel Tugu is a great story! Some time ago a poor student took a trip with a professor to Canggu and at sunset met with a stranger who gave the professor a Cupu Manik, a 16th century stone bowl of three parts from which was used by a priest to sprinkle holy healing water over sick villagers. The Cupu Manik was of priceless cultural value and inspired the students deep and lasting love of Indonesian antiquities and history. Several years later, the poor student had become a professional antiquarian and continued to search for the Cupu Manik to own for himself. Eventually he found the precious artefact which is now housed at Hotel Tugu. The student is the founder of Tugu Hotels, Exotic Spas and Restaurants, and these hotels now house his large collection of Indonesian art and antiques. A trip to Hotel Tugu is truly a step back in time! THE ROOMS There are 22 rooms, 19 of which are suites, 2 one bedroom villas and 1 two bedroom villas. The suites are large, with a living area, bedroom, separate shower room and the best bit, the bathtub which has a huge room all for itself looking out to the gardens and the ocean! If you treating yourself or this is a special occasion you may want to opt for the luxurious Puri Le Mayeur villa, a spacious single story villa overlooking the stunning lotus pond. The villa celebrates the eternal love between the famous Belgian artist, Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merprès and Ni Polok, his muse and his wife. The second incredible villa option is the Walter Spies Pavilion, designed with the art deco era of Java in the early 20thcentury in mind. This room is dedicated to German poet and artist Walter Spies, an influential German musician and painter who made Indonesia his home. SPA TREATMENTS I was treated to a 'Purnama & Tilem Massage' Energy of the Bali Moon, during my stay at Tugu and I can honestly (yes, really) say this was the best massage I have ever had. Not just because of the massage itself, but at Tugu they take the care to the make the treatments a unique experience. My therapist, Widia, greeted me and explained that before the massage we would walk down to the beach where we would wash our feet and place an offering for the gods. At the end of the massage we would do place a second offering at the hotels temple. Its hard to explain why, but there was something extremely relaxing, just going through these spiritual rituals that you almost don't even need the treatment! But of course, I had it! The massage itself is essentially a traditional Balinese massage that lasts for over an hour and is in the outdoor spa area, so you can drift off whilst listening to the sounds of the ocean. FOOD & DRINK Breakfast and Afternoon Tea is included in your stay at the hotel. For Breakfast you can take this in your room, outside in the courtyards by the pool or in the open plan dining area. There are several delicious breakfast options to choose from, each coming with fresh fruit juices and fresh fruits. In the afternoon, between 4 and 6pm, you can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea with an array of delicious cakes and treats. Make sure you get back from any surfing or sightseeing during the day in time to enjoy this! And for the evening you can dine at the hotels stunning restaurant, and enjoy cocktails upstairs at the bar overlooking the streets of Canggu. Tugu offers a range of traditional dining experiences that can be enjoyed in a variety of private nooks around the hotel. Food truly outstanding! Beautiful setting , very friendly efficient staff , just everything perfect - go at sunset if you can . 5 starsTugu Bali: "High quality hotel with strong historical identity"
"We enjoyed very much Tugu Hotel for the beginning of our honeymoon with my wife, through a three nights stay. The particularity of Tugu Hotel is that it is also a kind of museum with valuable and well designed pieces of furniture, decorations and paintings. Rooms are like small houses with an internal private courtyard and a swimming pool. The garden is also well designed with nice statues coming from ages. The staff is nice: everyone in the hotel knew our names since the beginning for instance. "
