Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A visit to paradise"
"I had another destination in mind for my Easter holidays, but a friend told me I had to go to Nepal, and especially to Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. Great advice. The lodge is beautiful, in a magnificent location, and very comfortable. Every member of the staff was exceedingly attentive to me as well as to the other guests. Tiger Mountain was the perfect centerpiece of my first visit to Nepal. The staff was ready to make my visit as active as I wanted it to be, with many options for walking and hiking, sightseeing, or simply relaxing at the pool with one of the most fantastic views in the world. The meals were special events in themselves, with a choice of either western or Nepali cuisine. Yes, Tiger Mountain offers a glimpse of paradise. Stayed April 2017, traveled solo"The Village House: "Rustic with a touch of luxury"
"Definitely a place to consider when travelling to Kuching. It's 40minutes away from town so do consider renting a car to get about. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even went out of their way to drop us off at the foothills of santubong mountain which is 5minutes away. There's no 24hr concierge but if you inform them on time they will stay up to greet you and even prepare meals if you pre-order. Accommodation is clean. Nice rooms and bathrooms and clean sheets and towels. Breakfast isn't fantastic but there's a variety to fill you up. The others meals at the restaurant were really good."Slow Villas and Spa: "Perfect"
Very relaxing to be there, everything is perfect & now with the new spa you can treat yourself with worderful massages & facial/hair/body treatments...before or after the yoga class, the ride along the island or the swim in the sea or in your private pool...just luxury (-:Tugu Bali: "A true gem"
We stayed at this beautiful and unique hotel two nights and enjoyed every moment. There is much to see with it's great collection of art and well curated furniture. General feeling is very welcoming, easy going and effortless luxury. The room was really our kind of taste: eclectic furniture, natural and nice ocean view. Def coming back with better time!Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Best of both worlds!"
This hotel gives a beautiful break from the fast-pace of most areas in India. This place is simply heavenly. The food is very healthy and prepared perfectly. Try the beetroot with coconut soup and the paratha soup. This hotel also offers the opportunity to sail on The Lotus for a few nights and watch the reflection of the sun and moon dance on the water.Hotel Tugu Lombok: "Once you had to be good all of your life to seek Paradise, and then there was Tugu"
"We had great expectations regarding staying at Hotel Tugu, they were met and exceeded. One experiences what it might have been like to be a Royal family staying at their chief Royal residence; it was so good. The hearts of the staff were on their sleeves with welcoming wishes and behaviour that was so genuine, they really care and whilst training can be taught, this seemed well beyond that, really like coming home to a loving family. Facilities were of the high standard expected and as the name ""Tugu"" implies, artifacts of a bygone era were everywhere including your spacious abode. I cannot add many more photos that would exceed those already on display on their web page but shall add a short video of our last night's dinner (St Valentine's day) and photographs of the surprise we got when returning to our room; thank you so much room staff, you are the best. Thank you Hanny for providing us with a five and a half star experience and thank you for the magnificence of the meals provided, sumptuous breakfast, wondrous and delicious afternoon tea and glorious dinners. Fortunately the secluded and long white sands of the beach out front, enabled some exercise to keep the waistlines within (reasonable) shape. Jon and Nancy"Locavore: "Great cuisine"
"Tolle Küche , viele Überraschungen . Hat Spaß gemacht . Super vegi Menü . Toller Service mit außergewöhnlichen Cocktails . Ein muss in Ubud ."Tugu Malang: "One of the World’s Great Hotels"
"It is rare to find a hotel where service is flawless in every detail: The Tugu Malang, one of the world's few truly great hotels, is such a place: The hotel is of such astonishing beauty and the staff are such nice hard-working people, anxious to please in every way, that the Tugu is in fact a destination in itself. If you have no other reason to stop in Malang, then do so to enjoy the extraordinary pleasures of the Tugu. The rooms are ravishing, each one with some element of art and designed thoughtfully for maximum comfort. Exotic fruits await you; the bed is turned down with a friendly note before you go to sleep. Want your shoes cleaned? They come back polished better than when they were new. Breakfast includes almost unlimited pleasures: the menu is vast and you can combine local and Western dishes. Everything is both artful and delicious and the restaurant setting is a work of art in itself. Afternoon tea is included, with an array of local delicacies, served with the ever-present Tugu charm. The hotel owner has built a world-class museum into the hotel. Seemingly endless antiques and art are fabulously displayed; and the best part is that the hotel supplies a brilliant and knowledgeable tour guide to take you round. My guide was Wahyu, who clearly loves the hotel and told me he takes considerable amounts of time to research the objects on display so as to give the best presentation. His tour was completely involving because of his intelligence and enthusiasm -- it felt like being a celebrity receiving a highly-privileged personal presentation from the head curator of a national museum! I do hope that management will recognize Wahyu's excellence and ensure his career development in both museum curating and management! Reception also has the best people: kind, knowledgeable, helpful. They can get you wherever you want in town and make any needed arrangements for you. If you'd like to visit Bromo I'd highly recommend taking the cross-desert route from Malang: it is highly scenic and also quite surreal in places. I did the trip the other way round by ojek (motorbike taxi), but you can also do it by jeep and the Tugu can make arrangements. The ability to take this mindbending route is reason enough to stay in Malang. But you don't even need that reason. The rare graciousness, fragrant beauty, opulence, detailed service and pure delight that exemplifies everything the Tugu stands for means that you should head for the Tugu if you are anywhere in the region for no other reason than to stay in one of the most fabulous five-star hotels in the world at a price for which you would get something only very ordinary in the USA or Europe. This is a best of the best, a treasure, a complete delight: don't miss the opportunity to stay there!"Satri House: "Fantastisk"
An excellent experience. Never seen it better. Well located. Nice people and an athmosphere from a forgotten time. I will come back. Ask for help and you get it. Afternoon tea in the garden is a must. You Can use the free bikes to acces all locations of importance within the City.David’s Kitchen: "The Highlight of our Chiang Mai Visit, Excelled Expectations"
We recently visited Thailand and Singapore for 18 days and this wonderful dinner definitely makes it into our top 3 best restaurant experiences. Firstly the venue is a delight and the elegant and contemporary decor was refined and impressed us greatly. Although the three course meal was exceptional as you would expect, it was the wonderful ambience and vibe of the place that so impressed us, as well as the attention to detail. There was a welcome card on our table (which we were permitted to keep) and from the first moment of greeting the wait staff were impressive and so welcoming, showing an interest in us and our travels. The pianist in the background was first class and really added an element of romance. Perhaps the highlight was meeting David Gordon himself. He was incredibly friendly and down to earth, and gave us the time of day which really resonated with us. He even consented to us taking a photograph together. At the conclusion of the meal I was presented with a beautiful red rose and we were sent out by David and his wife. A DK car was on hand to take us back to the hotel, which was also a welcome and special touch. If you're wondering about the food, the pumpkin soup was perhaps the best I've ever had Simply executed and divine flavour. We both enjoyed the signature beef cheeks, and we had to make room for dessert. I can say if you're after an experience where you feel special and valued, and want to be comfortable and pampered DK is the place to go. We have been to many hatted restaurants in Australia, and we think we are qualified to give David and his team 5 stars. If we're ever back again, this will be our first stop.
