Mie Cafe: "A lovely experience"

Review by: Rosemary P | Source: Trip Advisor
"We chose this restaurant for its proximity to the Beatocello concert at the children's hospital. (Saturday nights - an extraordinary event put on by Dr Beat Richner in support of the children's hospital which he founded.) The restaurant is stylishly cool and modern, with a little fish pond running alongside the outside patios (into which my fork unfortunately dived.) The food is delicious, and the chef came out to talk to the guests about his plans to develop the restaurant. a very enjoyable evening."

Maison Polanka: "“Excellent – best service Experienced in SE Asia”"

Review by: admiral b | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed three nights at maison polanka. We have lived 12 years in Thailand where the people are hospitable. However, the service we encountered at maidon polanka is unlike anything we have experienced. It feels like a home away from home. No detail is lacking and the fact that the hotel staff remember your name is notable. For those wishing a unique, Beautiful and u forgettable Experience to compliment your visit here, than maison polanka is a must!

Inle Princess Resort: "Quiet piece of heaven"

Review by: Matevz | Source: Trip Advisor
"Everything starts when you enter the hotel area. By boat, of course, but with the engine turned off - not to disturb other guests, and also to let you enjoy the serenity of the place. A boatman joins your boat at the gate and helps bringing your boat (using traditional rowing by leg) to the jetty. Everything is peaceful at the hotel; it is really a place to rest and relax. It is environmentally friendly and provides a lot of info on the surrounding nature, particularly the birds. The water in the pool is very cold; when you experience the evening and even more the morning temperature here, it becomes clear, why. The staff is utmost helpful, the free minibar is a nice touch, all the toiletries are high quality and locally made. The clientele is upscale and old - if you are 40, you will probably be the youngest guest; if you don't wear a shirt for dinner, you might be the only one. The breakfast is as good as the view from the restaurant which was a refreshing change from the rather dull and disappointing dinner the night before. They even make traditional dishes if you ask in advance - I tried the Shan noodles and was happy. Perfect, at a price. But this is the kind of tourism Inle Lake should do to stay as unspoiled as possible. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Neeleshwar Hermitage peaceful and comfortable"

Review by: indefatigable | Source: Trip Advisor
"Do not be put off by the proud boast that Monty Don has been a visitor, this is a very nice hotel indeed. The bungalow style rooms are very nicely appointed, comfortable, and even the cheaper rooms are spacious. When booking, look at the hotel plan on the hotel website and they will try to book you into your selected choice. During our stay the hotel was occupied almost entirely by English couples of a certain age so do not expect a great deal of exited activity, but that is not the point of this hotel. It is quiet, peaceful, and a great place to recover from a journey to the subcontinent and recover from jetlag. The gardens in which the rooms are set are beautifully kept. The staff are a delight, have good english, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is very good; there are two restaurants which is a good effort from a relatively small property. This hotel is highly recommended. There is one quirk. Visitors to Kerala should know that very few hotels have full liquor licences. Neeleshwar Hermitage supply a very limited but entirely satisfactory choice of wines and very cold beer at a fair price for a top Indian hotel. I don't think spirits are available at all, soft drinks like Coca cola are strongly discouraged as their own enormous selection of fresh juices are provided. Try their freshly squeezed orange juice with your contraband duty free gin. There is no fridge in your room. Booking seven months ahead we were not able to incorporate a trip on their boat 'Lotus' so I can't report on this but it is clearly a popular choice. Room Tip: Look at the hotel plan on the hotel website and request it on making your reservation"

The Island Lodge: "Perfect"

Review by: Mhanoi | Source: Trip Advisor
"We went on a Les Rives Cruise (two day cruise) and this was our overnight stop. I cannot fault this place. The swimming pool is wonderful and it's right next to the Mekong so you have wonderful unspoilt views. While swimming I spotted a kingfisher (or similar) just perched nearby. We enjoyed some lovely French wine with dinner and the food was very nice. I am vegetarian and I wouldn't say it's exceptional but there are enough options. The live music at dinner was also a wonderful touch. Breakfast was amazing - but a big risk of over ordering. The small cakes on arrival and by the pool were a lovely touch and tasted great. Our room had a wonderful view over the Mekong. I very much wished we'd stayed longer and it is the perfect place to relax. It's also a relatively small hotel so never feels crowded."

Villa Song Saigon: "Last destination and wow"

Review by: Thomas M | Source: Trip Advisor
"After a 20 minute taxi drive we arrived at the hotel in the evening. Our first thoughts were - very nice place but outside from the buzzeling district 1. However the hotel offers a shuttle boat service and while enjoying the boat ride you are very fast in downtown. We stayed 4 days with a break and we got 2 upgrades. The staff is very friendly motivated and helpful. The breakfast is a selection from the a la carte Menu. Therefore the food is always fresh cooked and very delicious. Yesterday evening this was topped by the dinner. Fantastic and very tasty food. A great thank you to all of you. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"

SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Michelin star quality lakeside Yangon"

Review by: Glen C | Source: Trip Advisor
My second time to Yangon and this is the best ! Sensational food and wine set in amazing gardens on the lake. I recommend arriving before dinner for a cocktail in the stunning lounge area. It’s so beautiful to sit under the outside terrace or if you want something super romantic and private choose one of the private dining options (see photo ) or there is one lakeside. Service was impeccable. Must do !

Villa Song Saigon: "Perfect"

Review by: Stephen C | Source: Trip Advisor
"Villa Song is located in District 3 outSide the city centre. Some say that is a negative, I dont. The city is chaos which is fine for the excitement....but to wind down and enjoy a relaxed peaceful evening this is the place. It's a beautiful boutique hotel with a fantastic saltwater pool to cool down and a riverfront restaurant and bar to enjoy the breeze and view. As for being outside the city, Villa Song provides a free boat shuttle that drops near the main promenade. You get incredible views and bypass the traffic. The times are limited so plan accordingly. The area has the british international school so mainy restaurants, bars, and grocery stores are close by."

The Apsara Rive Droite: "Wonderful hotel with first-class service from friendly staff"

Review by: GrahamLB2017 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Everything about the Aspara Rive Droitte is just right. Mr Ai and Mr Hann (the management team) and Mr Ivan (the owner) went out of their way to make our stay wonderful and all the other staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, with the hotel's dedicated Aspara Queen taking 60 seconds to cross the Nam Khan and deliver you to the heart of Luang Prabang - and, conversely, escape to the more serene side of the Nam Khan. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, and breakfast wonderful. The pool is a welcome relief from the heat of Laos, with the bar just a few steps away. After 5 days at this home-from-home, we were sad to leave. We hope to go back"
