The River Resort: "A destination in iteself"
I am just back from an extended week-end trip to The River Resort. The resort is so peaceful, the rooms are absolutely beautiful, with large terraces, and the outdoor shower is fabulous! We went to visit the temple and some waterfalls, and I had not realized that so many other attractions are available nearby. That is great: I will come back then :)Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Paradise for our family vacation in Thailand"
"We stayed at the Golden Buddha in April for 3 nights and my only regret is we weren't there for our entire 2 week vacation. In planning our trip I was non-committal to any one place concerned we would be stuck somewhere that didn't turn out as we expected, but had I only known. Our family of 5, kids aged 13, 11 and 9, stayed in the Baan Lucy which was beachfront and the perfect distance to the clubhouse and the bay. The house was lovely but when we come back, which we are definitely doing, I may look at one of the larger houses that had a bit more sitting/lounging area. We loved staying on the beach with the sunset and the breeze, but the back houses looked lovely as well. The arrival is something our family will never forget. Golden Buddha is not easy to get to and after a 3 hour drive from Phuket and a 90 minute ride on a pretty rough long tail, we pulled into paradise. The bay is great for kids of all ages as well as the grown ups. Pizza bar, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, swimming. It is a great way to spend the day. The beach is also beautiful and swimming is very nice- soft soft sand and great shelling. The food is over the top- very local and authentic but also sophisticated. There are a ton of families at the resort, for good reason, but could possibly be overwhelming for a couple on their honeymoon, although the clubhouse has an upstairs that was more dedicated to adults. Really a top notch resort in an unbelievable location. Almost hate sharing as it seems like a hidden gem in Thailand. Such a great experience after spending time in Bangkok, Railay Beach and Phuket. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"Villa Mathis: "La Villa Mathis is the perfect place if you’re looking for a beautifull place and outstanding service"
We stayed one week in Villa Mathis and enjoyed the outstanding service of Chris and his team. The rooms were spotless and the free shuttle to the centre of Seminyak brings you within 10 minutes to the centre. The resort is a very tranquille place and the villas and rooms are beautifull decorated. There are several swimming pools were you can enjoy the silence in the nice gardens. We will surely return here again when we visit Bali. We can highly recommend this place!
Wonderful! Brilliant!"
"This is a small hotel right on the river. It's nestled among trees which does mean the inevitable wildlife around you (although we didn't see mosquitos!). The room we had was huge and wonderfully well equipped. The terrace area was comfortable and peaceful. The staff were very helpful and friendly (not always visible but never very far away). For a two night stay to see the villages it is a great base."Tugu Bali: "Excellent romantic artistic getaway"
"The history and art of this exclusive hotel is very interesting. The staff can tell you even more about the art. The hotel is beautiful and gives you al the freedom and serenity you need. After a year of hard work, we arrived in Bali and stayed at the Tugu hotel the first couple of days. Our room had a perfect beach view with an incredible sunset. Just WOW. Waking up with the rhythm of the waves in the back ground is so relaxing... From the moment we arrived we found that peace and holiday feeling we have been waiting for for so long. Everybody of the staff is very polite and gives you the feeling that you are special, that you are welcome, that you are their number one priority. They give you the attention you need. Not to little not to much. Excellent job every one. A special thank for you, Arie. You have been so nice and so friendly. You did the extra mile for us. Terima kasih dari Amsterdam. Canggu becomes more and more popular - which is a good thing. And just out of the hotel you'll find some nice bars and cool hangouts (also on the beach). Unfortunately that becomes some kind of a mismatch with the serenity and calmness the Tugu hotel has so well mastered."The Island Lodge: "Chill out space extraordinaire"
You know that feeling of leaving a perfect place and grieving for that experience? Well, that is how we feel right now. The Island Lodge provided us with much needed healing and relaxation from the stresses of our work, health issues and our lives in the 'rat race'. The world is becoming a harder place but The Island Lodge provides a respite from all of that. Thank goodness for such a place. We spent most of our time outside or on our balcony watching the river life - a busy artery of interest and diversity. The breakfast was personalised - no buffet. Beautiful basket full of breads, a variety of juices, eggs to suit and more. Dinner and a nice wine list enhanced the open wall dining area so we could still see the river! Pool was the perfect temperature for me. A comment about the staff - they were gracious, polite and seemed to be able to predict your needs. Thank you to all.Mume: "definitely creative and top 10 Taipei"
"It is hard to understand how the restaurant could be rated anything less than 5 stars. The food is definitely creatively presented, ingredients atypical and the flavours wonderful. This all leads to great tasting food in a classy yet casual environment. My favorite was the beef short ribs and the Mume salade terrific. The night before I ate at Le Blanc, which is the sister restaurant for steak frites and lobster. Mume is about double or triple the price of Le Blanc and the food is not necessarily that much better, however Mume is for a more special occasion. Definitely recommend and you are paying full price."Samanea Beach Resort: "Perfect for a relaxing getaway"
"We stayed at Samanea for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The resort is spacious, with a large swimming pool and a private beach. The villas are quite big, with a private patio and an outdoor shower and bath, which I really liked. The restaurant was good, we had daily breakfast and a few times lunch and dinner during our stay. I would say that Samanea is ideally located for a relaxing getaway, it's not in the center of town, but privately located at the edge of Kep. Still within walking distance to the crab market and to the Kep National Park, or alternatively the hotel can call a tuk tuk for your convenience. We'll be back!"David’s Kitchen: "A True Chiang Mai Treasure"
"On our first night in Chiang Mai, we wanted to start our stay here with a nice dinner, and after reading all of the wonderful reviews, we decided there would be no better place than David's Kitchen. Our experience not only met our expectations, but exceeded them. When we first sat down, David came to our table and was more than kind and welcoming. The staff paid such close attention to detail and with their superb service, it made our dining experience unforgettable. There was never a moment we were left unattended. The pumpkin soup and the raw salmon with cucumber salad was absolutely delicious and I definitely recommend those as starters. Then, I ordered the Beef Cheek as my main course and it was magical; a true culinary experience for anyone who has a passion and appreciation for food. You could feel the chef's heart and soul in every dish. Then, as if it couldn't get any better, we were talking to David again, telling him how much I love to cook and that's when he invited my whole family to the kitchen to meet Chef O. The Chef and his team gave us a warm welcome and took a picture with my family. Overall, the experience we had here was an utter treat and one we will never forget. Thank you David and Co. for an amazing night filled with impeccable service and food. Anyone who is staying in Chiang Mai should not leave without getting the pleasure of visiting this Chiang Mai treasure. Sincerely, Alina Aslanian & Family"
