Flower Island: "Relaxing in paradise"
"Staying here was like being in paradise- your own tropical heaven away from everything. There's some incredible coral reef around which makes for some excellent snorkelling: we saw turtles on a number of occasions as well as a plethora of tropical fish. They also have some giant clams in the coral right in front of the beach. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and on one day took us to a pearl farm. I highly recommend a visit to the pearl farm - it's so fascinating to see this industry at work (not to mention more amazing snorkelling opportunities along the way!) (...) You can also hike up to the light house (around 10-15 mins) to get some lovely 360 degrees views. And there is a stone path going around the island for running: a complete cycle is around 1.7km, so 3 rounds, we did 5.5km ish. Oh - and did I mention those stunning sunsets...?"Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Glorious in every way"
"Well, probably our sixth review of this place over past 10 years and it continues to amaze us, and is better each time. You know already what this place offers, so briefly this time a huge pat on the back for every member of staff; and a warm embrace for Alex who continues to plough his own yoga furrow, teaches beautifully and cocks a snook at modern middle class yoga cultists! Go, before places like this become inaccessible or even slightly over developed. It remains unique. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Le Passe-Temps: "A cosy place to relax away from the crowds"
This small hotel is set on a quiet beach overlooking Ao Phang Nga bay, Beer and the staff are wonderfully attentive, and do everything to make your stay perfect. The sitting room / reception is beautiful, with a resident barman in the evenings. The rooms are well furnished, cosy and the hotel is ideal spot to relax after exploring the canyons of the Ao Phang Nga magrove forest - one of the most magical experiences I have ever had or taking a slightly less serene boat trip around the islands. The only shame about exploring the bay itself is that it is often populated by large crowds of lifejacket wearing tourists bobbing about in the water at every spot with a nice beach. The hotel's own beach is deserted as you can only swim for a couple of hours at high tide, so creating a glorious Robinson Crusoe feeling in such a busy area. The hotel is simple, but everything you need is well done. To be recommendedSlow Villas and Spa: "Relaxing, privacy, surrounded by nature and friendly staff"
"Great villa, with everything you possibly need! Cannot say anything bad about this location (except from the fact that their price for the boat to go to Bali is way too expensive - go to the harbour and negotiate the price over there!) I love the fact that they use environmentally friendly products! Definitely want to come back!!"Tugu Bali: "Amazing Karma Mantra Massage"
"Went for a Karma Mantra (Chakra Awakening) massage and what an amazing experience. Very powerful and beautiful space. One of the best massages ever so I ended up booking a second one 2 days later before I left Bali to experience again. Worth every penny. Powerful ceremony after the massage after which time a plate of fruit is delivered. Nice space to integrate the energies. Must try. Also had lunch at hotel and it was amazing. Stayed March 2017, traveled solo"The Island Lodge: "Serenity"
"Recently went here a second time and it pure bliss. The resort is stunning, beautifully designed accompanied by good service and a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere. We live in Saigon and we usually travel outside the country when we have any spare time but we make time to come to Island Lodge because it's that's great. We're actually going for our third visit in less than a week. Can't wait. "Nimmu House: "Absolutely lovely and charming hotel"
A beautiful heritage property with a lovely staff who is always ready to help. Peaceful and relaxing days spent at Nimmu, and the best food! Would love to go back again soon. Close to Leh and the tent spaces outside are lovely.tugu malang: "Quite charming and well worth a visit"
This is a lovely little bijou hotel, filled with Indonesian and Chinese antiques and art, conveniently situated right in the heart of the old town facing a pleasant open square. The architecture, like the rest of the hotel, is slightly idiosyncratic and charmingly individual, which differentiates it from the usual run-of-the-mill ‘international’ hotels. The staff in reception, housekeeping and the restaurant are exceptionally efficient and helpful in a relaxed, friendly way. The restaurant has a wide selection of cuisine – Indonesian, Chinese and international – which often spells trouble, because it is difficult to keep such a range of ingredients fresh. However everything we ate in a week-long stay was fresh, delicious and cooked to a every high standard. If you visit Malang, I would definitely recommend this as a most enjoyable place to stay.Dewakan: "Impressive modern Malaysian cuisine"
I had a dinner here on the christmas night. Impressive 10 course meal with additional snacks and dessert. It's a marathon dinner of almost 3 hours with variety of food items to try. Each dish is unique and burst of flavours. The chef uses local herbs and spices creatively in each meal. You will think that such a simple ingredient wouldn't be done it this way. Each meal is also an art by itself especially blue mackerel with raja ulam which the cured fish meat topped with edible flowers. Overall almost all the dishes were excellent except two which I don't quite like it. However, the food concept may not be for everyone. People who don't like the smell of ulam and spices may not like the overwhelming flavour of the dishes here. Also you also need to be patient and enjoying good time here of enduring 3 hours of eating session. The food here are even better than some of the Michelin star establishment. Dewakan does not serve ala-carte meal. They only have 3 or 4 course meal during lunch or 5 or 10 course during dinner. Price starts at MYR80.00 for 3 course lunch and the dinner of 10 course at MYR209.00. I would say for fine dining, the price is actually quite reasonable with total of 10 course.Inle Princess Resort: "Lakefront luxury"
From arrival to departure, everything at Inle Princess resort was an absolute delight. The enormous lakefront room is filled handcrafted decorations and a beautiful ceiling that stretches 10 metres above you. The outdoor shower is a fantastic addition. The resort grounds are again filled with handmade pots, signs and other decorative elements - all crafted on-site. The pool is wonderful, and quiet, the free breakfast consists of warm freshly made pastries and delicious eggs to order, and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. To have received a hand-wrapped and hand-written gift from the staff at the end of the stay was the icing on the cake. A wonderful experience. One minor criticism was that we found the taxi to the airport to be a little expensive so we sourced our own but a very minor blot on an otherwise fantastic stay.
