Locavore: "A must-experience in Ubud"
My husband and I had a truly memorable dining experience at Locavore during our honeymoon to Bali just two weeks ago. Not only is the food incredible and service superb, but the local ingredients provide such an amazing introduction to the place, time and history of this part of the world. We enjoyed dinner at Locavore on our first night in town and it colored the entire trip. In fact, we loved it so much that we stopped in at The Rooster (their bar across the street) and Locavore To Go (their grab-and-go spot just a few doors down) over the next few days. Do not miss this spot on your trip. Worth every single penny.Pindaya Farm House: "Relaxation"
Withing easy reach of the Pindaya shrine, this modern farmhouse in a traditional style is a place of calm relaxation, surrounded by pretty countryside, and lovely views from the house. Really nice welcome, excellent food, great room. Loved watching the sunset, and the morning (we tried doing watercolours). Bicycle rides provided.Locavore: "Amazing Culinary Experience"

We went there 3 times as a family and tried many of their dishes. It was great experience. The setting is romantic but not kitsch. Our daughter a vegetarian loved the food, so did we. Prices are OK, maybe a bit more expensive than in other places but the whole experience is worth it. Managed to get a 830pm seating here on a trip to Taipei. It's not a fine dining restaurant where you have no option but to take a degustation menu. Instead you get a pretty decent sized menu to choose a la carte options and almost everything we had was really good. Highly recommend the chicken liver, beef tartare, barley porridge. Though the menu might be different next time you go. It's definitely a bit on the higher price range of food options in Taipei but the same quality of food would cost almost double in Singapore or Hong Kong. We loved our stay at Rachamankha. In fact, it was our favorite hotel on our entire 4 week trip in Asia. Very quiet, great staff, and good location. The grounds and pool are absolutely gorgeous...if you stay be sure to save a day just to enjoy the hotel. The food at the restaurant was very good and reasonable price for a hotel restaurant. Also enjoyed massages which were reasonable. The room itself is not luxurious, but is very nice and cool Thai style. I don't know what they called it, but we got the room one level above the basic room and thought it was worth the money. Breakfast was also very good. Highly recommend this hotel.Maison Polanka: "Perfect relaxation"
Maison Polanka is one of the most beautiful hotels we have visited. The Khmer house was like a second home, a bit removed from the rest of the hotel, lovingly decorated and extremely comfortable and relaxing. The best feature is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, nothing is too much and every wish or question is dealt with immediately. The location is a bit outside the main part of Siem Reap but there is a great restaurant within easy walking distance. Transport is easily organised via the hotel but just walking outside would probably also enable one to catch a remork within minutes. Tours and transport might be cheaper when organised elsewhere but for us convenience was most important and we thought the prices offered by the hotel were very reasonable indeed. This is a small, simple hotel, where the emphasis is on the setting, the lake, the garden, the service rather than in-room facilities. The rooms are quite simple, but perfectly comfortable, with all the facilities you reasonably need, and mostly look over a wonderful little lake with waterlilies and all kinds of flowers. There is a small restaurant serving simple but beautifully prepared food, and offering three set breakfasts - all very well judged. The most notable thing, however, is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - they really make you feel as if you were in your own home. We cannot recommend if highly enough - we really didn't want to leave!Samanea Beach Resort: "Perfect for when you want to getaway"
On first arrival at Samanea we were pleasantly surprised at how pretty the resort was! A true resort, getaway in the quite town of Kep. Villas were very nicely decorated, had a real tropical feel. Bathrooms are novelty with outdoor tub and rain shower. Big, spacious rooms. Individual villas. Rooms have some air conditioning and an additional fan is provided. However aircon isn't strong enough to really cool the room down. Also as bathroom is outdoors - it has no air conditioning. Beautiful pool, lovely view out to the sea. Amazing sunsets. Please take insect repellant as being close to the water and mangroves there are alot of mosquitos and bugs. Overall food was good but not fantastic but the environment makes up for it. The open dining area was really nice. Good for a few days getaway. Great for couples - but as travelling with a friend a few days was enough. Note: no gym, wifi was relatively stable. We would highly recommend Samanea as a secret resort getaway.
