Villa Song Saigon: "Villa Song"
We really loved this hotel, the location, the staff, the rooms and the food were all fantastic. The regular boat shuttle to the centre of the city along the river was also a real plus. Great stay, would go back and would recommend it to anyone. The Village House: "Best homestay in Kuching, Sarawak"
"Approximately 40 mins from Kuching International airport to The Village House (taxi ride is about MYR60/ car). This place is a total gem, very well hidden (no kidding as there's nothing much to explore around this homestay except for a quiet beach). If you're going for a short weekend to relax & chill with friends or couple, then this would probably be the best choice but if you're thinking to have a party there, maybe not unless you've pre-booked all their rooms! Food and drinks (Tiger/ Heineken beer per bottle is about MYR15 each) are available from morning till 10:30pm at night only (so pre-ordered your food/ drinks before they closed). Staff will clocked off after 10:30pm (Bar/ Cafe will be closed) but 1 of the staff who's staying next to this place is easily located incase of any emergency. I must say their sandwiches & Nasi Goreng Kampung is amazing but Potato wedges (do not try this if you're a big fan of wedges!) & Sarawak Curry Laksa definitely needs some improvement. Prices are affordable. (You can have your food billed to your room & make payment only when you check-out. Visa/ Master card accepted but with 3% surcharge incurred. AMEX not acceptable unfortunately). Rooms & bathroom (attached) are very clean and the air-condition can get pretty strong if you've it switched on the whole day (warning!). The only problem is they've very thin walls if you do not want to be heard by next door or anyone downstairs! They've extremely helpful and attentive staff here named Ms.Aliffah and Flora as they've helped us get our missing mobile phones (left it near the pool area at night), call and arrange our transportation. If you're not a local like me, you can even get some travel tips from them! The nearest sightseeing place is Sarawak Culture Village which is about 10 mins drive away (Daytime transportation is about MYR5/ way by car). If you want to explore downtown city centre, it'll be about 30 mins car ride (that'll cost you MYR60/ car per way). Do ensure you make prior transportation arrangement with the staff as there's seriously no transportation available there. I'm already missing this place and just can't wait to be back!"Tugu Bali: "Best Hotel in Bali"
Everything was excelent. The staff are very helpfull. Can't wait to stay again in this perfect hotel. This is a gorgeous hotel. The setting is peaceful and glorious and the staff is high quality & professional. They have that attribute of the best trained staff anywhere: they know when to step in and help and when to leave you alone.Tugu Malang: "A real jewel"
With a collection of Javanese and Chinese art to make a museum jealous and good rooms, pool, and food - what more could you want. Staff friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea with delicious and unusual Javanese sweet dishes was delicious. Would gladly stay againKinabalu Park: "good"
I'd like to think outside the hostel is very clean and convenient meals are good, but I see a moderate caustic ratio recommendedRice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Heaven on earth"
"We were two rather tired middle aged parents with two of our daughters (aged 18). Sea Dance could have been set up with just us in mind. One daughter is working out in Thailand and we came over with one of her sisters for three weeks. One of them was spent at Sea Dance and I was not joking when I told Faith that when the others left I would be hiding in the wardrobe and planned to stay forever. We booked into a double chalet. So we had two interconnecting double rooms each with gorgeous bathroom and our own private pool. Do not underestimate the bliss of a private pool. We are not talking an olympic monstrosity, even I only managed two strokes from one end to the other. On the other hand, at the end of the day we bobbed around in the pool in the warm evening sun with a G&T and the evils of work responsibilities etc melted away. We spent an afternoon with Doi (my apologies if my spelling is off) learning how to cook green curry, seafood salad and chicken and ginger stir fry. I don't care how experienced you are in the kitchen, this is worth doing. I have been cooking since I was about six, my mother is an expert in historical cooking with a library to match, there is little in the kitchen that surprises or scares me yet even I learned subtle and interesting tips. Back home a week or so I cooked Tom yum. Once I would have needed a recipe - Doi gave me the confidence to create it on my own and my super critical Tom Yum husband loved it! I also had a massage in the spa. This is not your run of the mill five star spa. This is an authentic, no English spoken, work out between you and your masseuse, spa. It was bliss. I had a several massages in thailand from the ""Oh heck put the stick away please"" foot massage in JJ market in Bangkok, to the ""oh please don't wake me up"" and ""I wasn't snoring"" massages in Chiang Mai. A bonus was that I bumped into Doi in her herb garden on my way back to our chalet. Doi gave me a guided tour around her garden, explained what she grew for the kitchen and what she grew for the spa. For an old fashioned gardener like me that was the most wonderful way to end the massage from heaven. there are any number of luxury hotels and resorts on Ko Samui. If you are looking for a personal touch, for a spot of luxury without bankruptcy and any number of wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly staff (Faith is worth twice her weight in gold at the very least) then come to Sea Dance. Or better still ...don't ...so that there will be room for us when we return. Stayed March 2017, traveled with family"4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Fabulous, a holiday highlight!"
We are in Cambodia for two weeks, exploring temples, villages and markets. 4 Rivers was our third location and was unforgettable. The service from the friendly staff was excellent, the food was delicious and cooked fresh, and the trips were great. Fully recommended going the waterfall trip (be careful if you decide to kayak down the Rapids, it is more difficult than it looks, so confident swimmers only!) and also the mangroves. We spent our evenings playing games and hunting for geckos and insects - with the staff too!! It was great to turn off our phones and socialise properly! I miss it already - definitely worth a trip if you visit Cambodia!Satri House: "Authentic Experience"
"Satri House delivers on its promise of being ""a historic destination, a unique design"". The original house was run as a hotel since 2002 and was extended in 2008 reflecting the original architecture. We stayed over Songkran for 4 nights and were warmly welcomed by Jacques Mury (General Manager) and Navinda Imbubpa (Guest Experience Manager). On arrival to the room, we were impressed by the handwritten welcome note from Jacques. Whilst it is true that the hotel is located close to a fairground (the source of techno music correctly referred to in the previous review), we understand that Luang Prabang is always tranquil and that the volume we experienced was limited to this New Year festival only. We reflected on the importance of a pre-visit study. Notwithstanding this, Satri House is an amazing hotel. The renovation mirrors the original house perfectly. The Satri House team is attentive and caring. Key takeaways: # the staff is incredibly warm and greet you with sincerity # the housekeeping and gardener teams are amazing # the breakfast is plentiful. We recommend the freshly made noodle soup # the restaurant is terrific. We ate in many restaurants during our visit and will review them separately. We found the quality of the food at the Satri House restaurant to be equal to our better dining experiences # we love the two pools. Whilst we agree that the main pool could do with more lounges, we note that there are additional lounges at the second pool # the hotel is not located in the centre of the (small) city of Luang Prabang. It is in fact a 15-20 min walk to the city centre. The hotel does provide complimentary lockable bicycles with baskets that will get you there in 5-8 minutes One suggestion is to resolve the positioning of the Google Maps location pin. I am confident that when return to Satri House outside of the New Year festival, we will rate our experience as excellent."MesaStila: "Tranquility"
"Tranquil and relaxing this retreat has everything you need for a break from the ordinary. My husband and I just returned from a four fabulous nights at MesaStila, its low season so not very many other guests but all the facilities were available and we were kindly upgraded to an Arum Villa. A large breakfast each morning filled us till tea time, both of which are included in the room price. Dinners were a very good selection of both asian and western foods but i'd highly recommend sticking with the Javanese dishes that the chef, Arya Kusumaatmaja, prepares so excellently. each day has an assortment of activities that are included such as , yoga, coffee plantation tour, martial arts, etc. and there are many optional tours you can book. The staff were all very friendly and professional, the village tour we took with one of the staff( I'm sorry I don't have his name to hand) was fantastic, he was very knowledgeable and brought us to several small cottage industries that are well 'off the beaten track'. I've already recommended this place to my expat friends who travel extensively throughout asia and I look forward to going back again someday "Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Great time"
"I loved it! From the first steps we made into the camp, till the minute we had to leave. Noel´s Safari Camp is probably the best and most ecological way of luxury living around the national park. Every tent has a comfy bed with netted windows, monkeysafe and outdoor styled bathroom facilities, solar lights, eco soap and wonderfully scented and clean towels and linen. Although we knew that we´re already in the national park, surrounded by wildlife we felt totally safe. We sadly didn´t get the chance to see any leopards on our safary, but the fact that we could spot lots of other animals in their natural environment itself is woth going there."
