The River Resort: "Magical spot on the mighty Mekong"

Review by: SaigonSophie | Source: Trip Advisor
This is a peaceful and tranquil spot, views of the river and surrounding mountains are stunning. Sunrise over the water was mesmerising. Chamapasak is a sweet little town and Wat Phou, an enchanting temple complex, is a short moped ride away. The staff were charming and attentive and helpful.

Sanak Retreat Bali: "One of the most beautiful places I have stayed in"

Review by: Rachel G | Source: Trip Advisor
"We chose to come to this area of Bali with our adult children hoping for some quiet and beautiful scenery- and that is exactly what we got. This beautiful resort offers exactly this in the way the resort has been designed among a backdrop of rice paddies and mountains. This place is absolutely stunning. I loved the way the doors opened out on all sides to let the breeze in. It is best to have a villa with a balcony to capture the views- both sunrise and sunset. The service was great from all staff. The meals were good. Pool wonderful. Highly recommend for adults...young children i feel could spoil the serenity for others."

Tugu Bali: "Beachside Balinese Bliss"

Review by: Sharper28 | Source: Trip Advisor
We wanted to spend sometime on the beach in Bali before heading inland and our stay at Tugu was exactly what we had hoped for and more! Within close reach of nearby cafes and beach clubs for surfing and drinks; the hotel is beautifully decorated, well maintained and has an authentic Balinese style. Canggu is a much quieter beach location than Kuta and Seminyak and the waves are more suitable for beginners. The service was superb, our room was beautiful with a massive comfy bed and the food was amongst the best I have ever eaten. I cannot stress enough how good the breakfast was!! Yum! Whilst the location was a bonus for us, it is important to note that it is in a bustling area and as such you can hear some noise on a weekend. The spa services are on the expensive side and pretty average, but this didn’t bother us too much as the food and everything else was so reasonably priced. The free Balinese dance night was our favourite evening in Bali and the staff were all so friendly and helpful, we would recommend to others and come back in a heartbeat!

Me and my wife loved the experience there and just how creative they were with the menu! Recommend it for a special evening

The Village House: "Best place to stay on the peninsula"

Review by: AndyHopz | Source: tripadvisor.com
I would echo all the previous reviews. Yes this place is out of the way, and in a completely different spot to the big resorts in Damai. But that is exactly the reason for choosing it, it's very intimate and relaxing, there's no kids around and you feel like you're experiencing something closer to Malaysian culture.

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Wild at Heart"

Review by: sabrinaMelbourneVic | Source: Trip Advisor
"As we pulled up to the meeting point , we were met with a striking man in safari attire, Danu. Danu (our host) is a much younger Sri Lankan version of Sir David Attenborough-with a dash of Indiana Jones. His knowledge for wildlife is amazing and he has an eagle eye for spotting animals as did our amazing driver who is so knowledgable and we loved hearing about his tiger encounters in India. Both these guys are passionate conservationists but make it really interesting and are very sensitive to the needs of wildlife and safari newbies. My husband and I became so comfortable around then we found ourselves asking ridiculous questions like ""Does that elephant get lonely?"" Danu is a true professional for keeping a straight face when he answered ""Um, I haven't gotten around to asking him""... We are still laughing about but seriously these guys are like your personal wildlife Wikipedia. We booked the normal tents and were absolutely blown away by the luxury. We have been staying in 5 Star hotels throughout Sri Lanka but this was the cleanest room/tent we have ever seen with the crispest sheets and plugs for my phone. I will miss my outdoor shower, there is no better feeling than having an outdoor shower after a big day in the park. I have to talk about the food. It was next level! This was by far the best food I have had in Sri Lanka and what made it SO special was Danu showing us how to eat it like a local. I loved learning about the cuisine and Sri Lankan culture under the stars. The guys who were serving us in the bar and restaurant- a lantern lit space under the stars treated me like a jungle queen! I miss them already and plan to kidnap them the next time I come back. So I would highly recommend these guys to anyone who has a deep respect for wildlife, a love for a bit of luxury in the jungle and those who are wild at heart. Yala is calling for you. Glenburn Tea Estate: "Shangri-La in Darjeeling"

Review by: junobeach2 | Source: Trip Advisor
We spent four wonderful days in this Shangri-La situated in the Himalayan Mountains, surrounded by tea gardens, hikes through the tea gardens and tiny villages, scenery to paint, and of course wonderful tea picked at the estate. Each evening a delightful family meal, meeting fun and interesting people, and wonderful food from a different region each evening. A little off the beaten path, but worth the little extra effort to get to paradise.

Satri House: "Truly beautiful hotel"

Review by: TiraG | Source: Trip Advisor
This is one of the most beautiful historic boutique hotels in the world. From the moment of our pick up and check in to check out everything was truly 'royal' and perfect. The staff was the most impressive. The architecture and grounds are breathtaking. The rooms lovely and relaxing in decor. One really felt as if you were a guest of royalty long ago. Breakfast was elegant and delicious. The restaurant served tasty dishes though we liked some more than others. The red curry was super delicious.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Speechless"

Review by: JohnSchitthelm | Source: Trip Advisor
"Words cannot describe how amazing this hotel is. The service is unparalleled. Everyone is so attentive and friendly. I felt so special to each one of them. They really go above and beyond to make your stay excellent. The ""tents"" are fabulous. They are quaint, clean and quiet. The barrel tub is super cute and fun to use. There are lots of exertions you can experience or just relax. It truly is the most relaxing place I've ever experienced. Once you get over the initial shock of no internet, it was magical how much of the world you connect with. We chatted with the other guests, the staff and each other. We just sat and enjoyed the tranquility of the place. It's the most peaceful place we've ever seen. In addition, we went hiking (with Rovie guiding us), kayaking, and the waterfall trip. The fireflies are so pretty also, and after a day of all this relaxing, we had the best meals. Every plate would impress Martha Stewart and the quality is even better. It is the perfect way to end an exciting and busy trip to Cambodia. Thanks to everyone for making this the most memorable experience! Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"
