Maison Polanka: "Amazing!!!"

Review by: mmcbattin | Source: Trip Advisor
My husband and I recently stayed at Maison Polanka for our honeymoon. From he moment we arrived we were blown away! The staff was unbelievable! They we were warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The hotel property is beautiful and the room was very clean and cozy. Breakfast was delicious! We also had dinner at the hotel a few nights and the food was superb! We were sad to leave this special place and can't wait to return.

Sea Dance Resort: "Spot on – relaxed vibe, great hospitality, great team and lovely, clean rooms"

Review by: MiaElza2004 | Source: Trip Advisor
Thanks to the team - Faith, Helen, the entire staff at Sea Dance and Poy, the hotel owner, for making us feel so welcome and answering all our questions and giving us great recommendations of where to eat, what to do and see. Lovely beach, infinity pool, the place to chill after a day of exploring Ko Samui. The live music and buffet evening was outstanding and fun, kicked off by free cocktails on the pool deck. Absolutely gorgeous rooms, we had a pool villa which was private. Shops are around the corner, busy Chaweng about 10 minutes away. This lovely retreat really hit all the right spots for us and we would return in a heart beat. Go on and book it, you won't regret it.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Touching perfection"

Review by: Philip C | Source: Trip Advisor
From the moment you arrive at Glenburn and greeted by Will Faye and Alex, the wonderful experience of Glenburn begins. The buildings might be old English but the staff and the service is warm and attentive. A morning walk to the river of a little over 2 hours through the Glenburn Tea plantations with a wonderful guide is rewarded with welcome refreshments and a BBQ lunch. Heaven. On another day, Parveez the Plantation Manager, who manages 1000 people, took time out of his busy schedule to take us on a tour of the Tea Factory and educate us on the finer points of making tea, Darjeeling tea. We learn about Silver Needle, First Flush, Green and Oolong tea. Further walks through the local villages and we meet such happy and smiling people. You feel yourself wind down and relax. The meals are wonderful at Glenburn, all prepared with themes each evening around a table with all the guests eating together. Breakfasts and lunches are either taken on the veranda with the other guests, in your room or packed up for you if you are travelling. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is possible at Glenburn. Train tickets were changed, guides provided for private trips and food and drink prepared on request. Heaven! As Arne said famously "We'll be back!"

Reverie Siam: "Absolutely Amazing"

This is a hidden gem. Just had cocktails at sunset. Amazing! Staff is overly friendly. You feel like you're at a 5 star resort. If you want to feel like a king, stop by and check it out for a drink. And if you have the budget, stay here!

Satri House: "A gem of Laos"

My wife picked this hotel. I was very impressed with this choice. It was unbelievably comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Since we stayed more than a week here, we changed room twice to get different feel. Money was well spent.

Locavore: "Experience of a lifetime"

Review by: Elleron540 | Source: Trip Advisor
"First of all: YOU MUST BOOK AHEAD if you want to go to dinner; lunch is less in demand and somewhat easier. We had the most amazing evening with friendly and efficient staff, an elegant and comfortable dining room - with plenty of space between tables, such a luxury - and then the food. Our party of three included one who is violently allergic to shellfish/seafood so with great care and input from the chefs, an alternative menu was chosen for her that included dishes from the vegetarian menu as well as safe dishes from the meat/fish menu. Then we sat back and the dishes started coming. Not only is the food exquisite, but the dishes (or rocks!) on and in which it's served and beautiful too. We settled for the seven courses and even though each is little more than one or two mouthfuls, it was more than enough and every dish was a surprise and beyond delicious. My favourite (apparently I'm not alone) was the quenelle of Bloody Mary sorbet on a slice of frozen tomato that then had a little jug of hot and clear tomato broth poured over it. More like essence of tomato than broth: absolutely marvellous! Didn't have the matching drinks as I felt a puritan need to walk out under my own steam, but wine is an easy alternative and uniformly and reasonably priced. The chef-owners are passionate about local and fresh produce and experimenting – and it shows. Altogether a memorable evening."

"from the moment we walked in the door.....we fell in love with this place.....we can not recommend it highly enough! if you want something special, tucked away, unexpected with the most divine attentive staff.....this is it! we will only stay in this gorgeous hotel whenever we choose to visit this city. a very very special place indeed! the attention to detail, the drinks and cocktail choices are just perfect and the rooms to enjoy them in....are so so beautiful. a thai restaurant too with delicious food, a swimming pool, everything is here. all I can say is, we just don't want to leave.....its the perfect get away in a busy bustling city that can be very overwhelming. The Cabachon is an oasis with styling perfection. thank you for having us!"

Reverie Siam: "Simply outstanding"

Review by: Piotr L | Source: Trip Advisor
This place is a hidden pearl worth the long way of 762 curves on route from Chiangmai and we simply loved it so much that we didn't want to leave. Great atmosphere, service, stylish rooms and gardens as well as one of the best places for yoga in the early morning. The food is a innovative mix of tradition and experiments with new ideas, most of it really worth trying. Definitely one of the best cappuccinos in Thailand. We also liked a lot the concept for breakfast that you order a la carte. Things for improvement - bathrooms could do with a little more privacy and water saving. Overall it's a place to come back to.

Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Excellent reasonably priced fine dining"

Review by: GlobalVagrants | Source: Trip Advisor
You must visit this place if you can afford to and can get a table; delicious food that is a cut above the rest, successfully fusing traditional Khmer cuisine with all sorts of other influences. Atmosphere can be a bit stuffy, mainly due to the type of customer it attracts, but come for the food and enjoy yourselves. Is actually good value given the quality of cooking when you compare with typical costs of other tourist oriented restaurants in town. We visited with young children and they were very accommodating doing the full menu with smaller portions for our 9 year old and some chicken fried rice for our 5 year old; both kids declared the food delicious and ate everything in sight. Some very good wines as well. We managed to get an outside table at quite short notice despite them saying they were fully booked for months; if you don't ask you don't get!
