Les Maisons d’Itac: "beautiful property and great staff"

Review by: Adam W | Source: Trip Advisor
The property is beautiful and the pictures don't really do it justice. It is extremely peaceful and a wonderful place to stay outside of Moalboal. The staff and the community are very welcoming. Overall, a terrific trip and we certainly look forward to our next visit.

The Island Lodge: "Lovely Oasis on Two-Day Bike Tour"

Review by: P L | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed at the property in later December 2016 on the night in the middle of a two-day bike trip. After a long morning and part of the afternoon on bikes we were very happy to arrive at this beautiful property. The owner and his staff are very welcoming and the rooms were spacious and very clean. The bathroom is well decorated with pretty rocks in one section of the shower and lovely ceramic mugs near the sink. We had booked ahead to ensure we could each have a massage that afternoon and the spa is small but pretty. There is a large pool and deck area along the river but it was cool enough that we were not interested in sitting out by the pool. We had a cocktail in the bar area which is open on all sides and has a fun decor that incorporates old world items. The restaurant was good but we were not clear at the time of booking that we would be on a set menu. I think we would have preferred to order a la carte. All in all a good stay and we would return if in the area.

Hotel Tugu Malang: "Great historical place!"

Review by: KingofKongs | Source: Trip Advisor
"We had a pleasure to stay at Tugu. This hotel is like a museum -- antique collections from through out Java with some twist of local chinese immigrants house in a very nice Dutch colonial era building(s). Do not miss the complimentary afternoon teatime and snacks. You will also enjoy Melati restaurant located next to the swimming pool serving great traditional and western dishes. I recommend the ZAMRUD room (a step up) — larger than king size bed, huge handmade round bathtub and so on. We wish we had more time to explore the hotel. Perhaps next time."

Mume: "Food is very delicious! I will visit again!"

Review by: Seok Ting C | Source: Trip Advisor
Currently ranked #43 on the Asia Top 50 Restaurants, food at Mume is very delicious. The menu is ala carte, and the selections are short and easy to decide. The cooking is European-Asian fusion. Using a combination of Taiwanese ingredients and Nordic influences to deliver a modern, light cuisine. All the dishes I ordered were very good. I wish to order more, but I had a big lunch and dinner at Mume was early at 6pm. Great service. Will visit again. The restaurant is small. Please make reservation ahead.

Locavore: "European Cuisines using Indonesian Ingredients"

Review by: non_non8668 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I was so glad to be able to secure a table this time in only 4 weeks notice. My friends & I were really impressed with Locavore because it always tries to use fresh local produce from Bali and other parts of Indonesia. The menu is very ingredients driven, meaning that it is always updated according to what's available fresh in the market. Service was attentive but perhaps waitresses need more training in story telling skills about origins of ingredients, in what conditions they grow or how special the food was prepared. Those things adds up to the overal dining experience. Locavore offers lunch & dinner tasting menu of 5 or 7 courses with a choice of vegetarian (herbivore) or non-vegetarian (locavore). Although they come in really small portion, you will end up full with line up of snacks, amuse Bouche and pre/post-desserts. Definitely worth visiting. Reservation is compulsory to avoid disappointment."

The Cabochon Hotel: "Unique interiors charming staff"

Review by: John P | Source: Trip Advisor
Our room was spacious and unique in interior design. The staff were charming and very helpful. Hotel is small and has the feel of a private club. Good location near major shopping centers and the train.

Labyrinth: "An amazing culinary experience"

Review by: Fadzillah A | Source: Trip Advisor
"Restaurant Labyrinth got a one-Michelin star in Singapore. As most people do not know what these stars mean, they would naturally associate it to taste and taste alone. Ambience: Comfortable and intimate setting. Tables are well-spaced out for privacy between customers. The size of the table is sufficient for the restaurant's style of service a couple of dishes at a time. Dining cutlery has a nice weight and feel to it, making the dining experience feel more posh. Drink glasses are clean and spotless. The lights are not positioned to the table (purpose-built) hence you have some tables that are more lighted on one end but poorly lit on the other. Moving forward, it would be great if they can get lighting consultant instead of regular general interior designers. Food: Having been to two 3-Michelin, three 2-Michelin and a few 1-Michelin starred restaurants, I would rate the taste as excellent. In fact, the culinary style of food is similar to The Fat Duck by Heston Blumenthal (Bray, England), where it is more of a culinary wonderland than anything else. These types of restaurants let you discover taste experiences that are out of this world. They play not only with flavours, but also texture and temperature. Honestly, I would rate the food at Restaurant Labyrinth better in terms of taste. It is amazing how they made the ""chilli crab"" taste exactly the way it should taste but appearing like the a crab on sand, with cold ice-cream. Your mind will be blown away as your brain juggles the totally new experience to a very familiar taste. Imagine that experience, multiply that with the number of dishes as each course will give you a new perspective. It is such a delight. Service: This is where they lacked a lot. One thing 3-Michelin starred restaurants have in common, the service team makes you feel as though you are the VIP of the day. It is amazing how they manage to do it every single time. Despite having other tables, the staff to diner ratio is amazing. The staff at Restaurant Labyrinth is friendly and warm, but it is not too easy to get their attention as they are busy with other diners. They had to be more reactive (instead of proactive) because they are tied down with other tasks that are ongoing at the same time. Overall: From my dining experience at Restaurant Labyrinth, I would have given them 2-Michelin stars as they were not just ""the best in their category"", but they were ""excellent and worth a detour"". I hope they work on the staffing, the service level and lighting to improve the experience. The food is simply amazing and it is really worth your money and detour (if that applies to you)."

MesaStila: "I Love This Resort"

Review by: Toru S | Source: Trip Advisor
"I had a wonderful time at this hidden jem of Indonesia. This Central java's coffee-plantation-turned-resort is so lovely. I just loved every minute I spent there and hated the moment I had to leave the resort. Villa was nicely done in Javanese style, food was good (serving tended to be on a slow side, though - may be suitable for a leisurely resort time?), service was responsive, attentive and nicely done, the place was kept very neat and clean. The place with 22 hectare coffee plantation is something must see. I learned a lot about my favorite drink called coffee here. Thank you for all the service that made my stay wonderful. Keep at it!"

Satri House: "Quiet very stylish place with excellent breakfast under new competent management"

Review by: mjwitter | Source: Trip Advisor
"The place is a ""total work of art"" - the traditional building- the impressive collection of precious regional artifacts . We felt very relaxed in a wonderful secluded and quiet atmosphere- yet with one of the hotels bicycles or also by feet very close to the center of Luang Prabang or Mekong river site. The personal was very friendly and helpful -they even followed our taxi as we had forgotten something when leaving. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"

Villa Song Saigon: "A Peaceful Retreat"

Review by: galapagaswhaler | Source: Trip Advisor
"Villa Song is a small boutique hotel with only about 12 rooms. The grounds and building itself are luxurious and full of style. Each room is quite different in terms of size and configuration, so it pays to be sure you know what you're booking. We asked if it was possible to move to another room shortly after check- in because there was only one small window in the room and the reception staff were very helpful in offering another room. The breakfast is menu style rather than buffet and is very good with plenty of options on offer. The food at bistro song where we had two evening meals was great. The shuttle boat service in to district 1 is very convenient and worth a return trip just for the river cruise. Thao Dien, District 2 is worth a look around with some obvious wealth on display in the neighbourhood homes. Not as many local eating options as district 1 but a lot of work going on in the area with plenty of new places opening all the time."
