"This hotel is unreal. You will feel like you are in the movie, The best Marigold hotel. Very quite and calm(no offense to kids and parents, but thanks to their no kids policy) serene. Staffs were soooo nice. Their English was short but they tried their best. Location is perfect. Short walk to temples, street food, and sunday market(Must go!!!-food, music and everything is there, it's huge!!) You will get lost because every street looks the same and similar temples are every corner. We got lost so many times but just take tuk tuk back to your hotel. (I recommend writing down hotel addresss in thai since most drivers dont understand English. Room is beautiful, not 5 star hotel way, but more authentic kind of way which I love. The best part that made me almost cry? We had to leave hotel at 4am to catch our super early flight, they prepared us little bag of sandwiches, fruit, cracker, yogurt and soy milk. We arrived at the airport, nothing was opened, I had the sandwich which was made with love. Almost tasted like what mom makes for the kids. With a lot of love. Almost made me cry. I love love this hotel sooooo much. I will be back very soon."Mie Cafe: "Best meal in Siam Reap"
Siv Pala is a Cambodian chef to watch out for. He trained in Switzerland and has added European technique to Khmer cooking that is fresh and innovative. We tried the highly rated, over rated, very formal Damnak lounge but it pales in comparison. We had both lunch and dinner here the same day because it was so good. We had the gourmet set menu. 5 courses for $24 US but brilliant dishes starting with a shrimp cold starter and the fresh fish soup, then two amazing entrees-a langoustine crepe and an oxtail stew. Both were subtle with rich texture and full of umami. The setting, too, is lovely. Outdoor patio, romantic, opposite of stuffy. Staff were always attentive and the chef, good-ooking per my wife, youngish man of impeccable manners greeted us after dinner. Best meal of our three day stay. Do not miss! The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Amazing vintage style hotel"
"The hotel is just amazing! The rooms are nice and neat. Air-con is good and the bath tub is just so relaxing!!! The hotel itself is decorated in a vintage style and it is just lovely. The environment is quiet and peaceful. Thinking of a quiet and peaceful holiday escape? This is the place you would want to go to! The staff is very helpful. They show us the neighbourhood and help us to get transportation."Villa Mathis: "Quite fantastically wonderful!"
I would heartily urge everybody to plan to have at least one stay in their lifetime at Villa Mathis - and to prepare yourself for many return visits as once will never be enough! From the first day of our six nights' stay, we felt as if we'd walked into a kind of personal Eden. The grounds were full of arbours housing day beds, with all kinds of private relaxation areas nestling amongst the bird-filled trees, vividly coloured flowers and exotic vegetation. Chris and his team were wonderful: they were there when you needed them, discreet when not required and incredibly helpful, smiling and friendly all of the time. We took advantage of the "romantic night" offer and were given a pampering via massage and petal filled bath prior to a wonderful private meal served in fairytale candlelit surroundings. Even though the 18 bedded premises were apparently fully occupied during our stay, we could never have guessed - such is the design of the whole area. Our personal villa was spacious, comfortable and had beautiful décor. If you are looking for tranquility and balm to the soul - this is the place for you as it is out in the countryside but only a very inexpensive 10-15 minutes' taxi ride away from Seminyak. I am sure there are still some glorious rooms and hideaway areas that we didn't manage to discover - so we shall just have to go again!Maduzi Hotel: "Little gem of a hotel"
"Just stayed for 2 nights in this hotel which doesn't look like much from the outside & is on busy road but don't let that fool you as it is gorgeous inside & road noise is minimal. All the staff were friendly & helpful. Price is reasonable too especially having come from Shangri-La. It has the right boutique effect in terms of decor & little extras. The tap from the ceiling into the infinity jacuzzi was unique. There was a proper coffee machine in the room which had one of the largest beds I've ever slept in (sheets were amazingly soft too). Can't rate this high enough & I would definitely return if I went back to Bangkok. Great location for night life & a few stops to main shopping malls. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"Nimmu House: "Charming, peaceful, warm and stunning"
"Difficult to say what is best: the house? the tents? the whole staff? the location? the views? We had an amazingly fulfilling 7-day stay at Nimmu House. Met some great people. Had some great long chats. Had beautiful walks. Even had a very nice bicycle ride. The beauty of the valley and the surrounding mountains, the feeling of equanimity. It is pretty hard to beat such an experience."The Island Lodge: "Perfect"
"We spent a few wonderful days here after a cruise on the Mekong. We received a warm welcome and brilliant service throughout. We took full advantage of the infinity pool and it was a great place to lounge and read beside. We cycled around the island and noticed that lots of weddings were being celebrated. Our stay coincided with New Years eve and we hugely enjoyed the special dinner served. Don't forget to ask the owner to tell you the story about the Opium related artefacts!"4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Amazig"
Absolute heaven on earth. Beautiful location and the staff are all wonderful. You completely relax here. It is definitely one of the most unique places I have ever stayed. The tents are really comfortable with everything you could want. The trip to the Tatai Waterfall was a particular highlight. We also did the 7.00 am trek - although we didn't see any wildlife, it was still very enjoyable and the boat ride back to the Lodge was really beautiful.Sukoon Houseboat: "The best"
Wowww... We booked this houseboat only after thoroughly checking all the reviews. My main concern was the washroom and safety and my personal recommendation will be sukoon houseboat managed by a very reputed family of Kashmir. Try to book the suite as the room size is little bigger compared to other rooms plus a little more private. Good food and thank to the wonderful host Babu. Would definitely come back again soon.
