Villa Song Saigon: "We saved the best till last"

Review by: MikeLeicester | Source: Trip Advisor
"This was superb! Had a lovely suite (206) and the lay out was very impressive. Mini bar items were complimentary and there was an Apple TV supplementing the normal TV. We booked dinner for 8:00pm and were a little perturbed with the number of noisy children in the restaurant. The Executive Chef, Kevin Marchetti, stopped by to welcome us and wondered if we would be happier dining outside. We hesitated as we were nervous of insects as we would be sitting next to the riverside and he suggested we spray ourselves with insect repellant which he produced quite promptly. We accepted his suggestion and were very pleased that we did. The Menu came on an iPad and there was a photo of every choice which was very helpful and not tacky like some places we have eaten at. The meal was superb and it was a pleasant evening to be sitting outside. And no bites! The next day we took advantage of the boat shuttle into Saigon which was prompt and a pleasant experience. There was a wedding scheduled on our last day and it was laid out really nicely. As we were leaving, the Hotel were very accommodating and found comfy chairs where we could wait for our pick up taking us to the Airport. All in all, a superb experience."

Chakrabongse Villas: "A small hotel in beautiful gardens on the river"

Review by: cwb50 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I stayed in the river view villa for 3 nights during my Bangkok visit. The villa had everything I needed, it was a generous size with a separate lounge & study area, all beautifully appointed. The view of the busy Chao Phraya river with the passing barges, plentiful boats and ferries was a delight to watch. The famous Temple of the Dawn 1- Wat Arun is just opposite. The Villas lush gardens, water features and pool area were stunning. So calming after the hustle and bustle of the city. It is in a great location to explore the old city comprising the Grand Palace and Wat Po. The flower market is also walking distance as is Chinatown (a bit further). If shopping is more your style then it is only a few minutes walk to Pak Klong Talad Pier to catch a ferry to Central Pier where you can catch the BTS skytrain. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The managers (Atom in particular) were wonderful and arranged my airport transfers, made site seeing suggestions & eating recommendations."

Inle Princess Resort: "Gem of the lake"

Review by: Michael C | Source: Trip Advisor
"We just returned from a four night stay at the Inle Princess Resort. What a treat! This resort, which sits on the northeast corner of Inle Lake, is locally designed, owned and run. And it shows, from the local crafts that are made on site to the quiet efficiency and welcome of the staff. We arrived via Heho airport by road (about 60-90 minutes and ~$50 US). The road entrance is modest, giving no clue of what lies behind the low key security gate. The grounds are spectacularly but sympathetically landscaped, with stands of bamboo framing lotus filled lagoons. The rooms are absolutely unique in design. You might want to avoid the Mountain rooms only because they are a bit smaller with less spectacular views. Any of the other rooms will exceed your expectations. The dining is lakeside, serving a mix of excellent local and Thai style fare and goreng. The views from the restaurant patio are tranquil, with boats approaching the jetty required to row (almost always Inle leg oar style) with engines off. The pool is otherworldly. We spent a good deal of our time exploring the lake. One of the lessons we learned was that the locally sourced goods in the crafts shop at the Inle Princess are not only superior quality but are priced very fairly. I am lucky to travel widely. The spa is the finest with the kindest and most skillful (Shan) therapists I have encountered. The setting alone will draw you out of your highly strung world. A couple of words of caution to high maintenance travelers. The hot water can run out quickly, so shower efficiently (many rooms have private outdoor showers). And service (e.g. by the pool) can be slower than you will find at Four Seasons. They just don't rush. The food and drinks are wonderful. So relax and enjoy. There is simply nowhere remotely like the Inle Princess. If you are looking for a slice of Myanmarese heaven on earth, this is it. If you are looking for chain resort style service, stay somewhere else."

Maduzi Hotel: "Worth the experience at Maduzi"

Review by: christinachea | Source: Trip Advisor
"Everything here is excellent! Service is very good. Although some of the young staffs do not speak much English but the senior lady in charge, who speaks good English tries her very best to help with enquiries. Food was great, served in a lovely dining area with relaxing ambience. It's worthwhile to add breakfast into your booking as you are allowed to order 2 dishes + 1 juice + 1 hot beverage. Although it's not buffet style here, the menu is great with seriously delicious French, Thai and Japanese cuisines. I love best the 'Avocado in 4 ways' and the Japanese salmon dish! It's a fresh change from buffet style breakfast in most hotels where one gets many choices of food but nothing really spectacular. The bar near reception serves complimentary drinks and everything in the mini bar of the room is also complimentary with personal coffee machine. There is a fantastic work station plus a luxurious recliner chair too which are so convenient. Bed is really huge, with super comfy sheets and ample big and normal sized pillows. Room is huge, decor is lovely with spacious dressing area + walk in wardrobe area. Only setback for the bed was the comforter which is not big enough for the bed, but it's a negligible issue. The bathroom is creatively designed with infinity jacuzzi bathtub. It's great for most guests but what is lacking here is a good strong shower. It's rain shower here with weak 'splayed out' flow that is not adjustable, and one can almost stay dry standing at the centre. There is no shower head at the jacuzzi bathtub. I had to shower using the strong flow of water coming from the ceiling meant to fill up the jacuzzi tub. Hope this problem will be looked into by the management as taking a strong satisfying shower is vital for some guests! Overall this place is awesome, location is good and prices are reasonable! "

Samanea Beach Resort: "It’s gorgeous place!"

Review by: Phong N | Source: Trip Advisor
Manager who was very kindly friendly with their guests. The room look like older but seems to be based traditional structure of the local citizen. The outside bathroom is definitely a unique feature. The resort was very silence that you could heard some songs from insects in night time hi hi hi. The beach that where you maybe swim but watch sunrise or sunset then that is a great experience. The long wharves that made me better feeling as on the sea by my foot. The food was so good. There are not many rooms in this resort with their large site, almost of them for tree, swimming pool. With kindly noted, the resort must control better against mosquito. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Mie Cafe: "A wooden House restaurant"

We had dinner here and we ordered the Amok fish, fried vegetable beef, fried rice with Angkor Beer. This was a nice dinner. The staff here were friendly and the service was quickly. Highly recommend.

Rahai’i Pangun: "River cruise – Indonesia’s must see Orangutans"

Review by: Ketu S | Source: Trip Advisor
My husband and I went on a 2 night / 3 day day river cruise and the river cruise was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Jeni was fantastic and the crew could not do enough to make our trip comfortable and memorable. The Orangutans in their natural environment were a delight to watch and what magnificent creatures they are. Such a shame what the ever expanding human population is doing to these magnificent great apes....but there seems to be hope for them which is heart warming and Wow Borneo is definitely the company to book this once in a lifetime adventure with. The boat is very comfortable, except for the cold shower brrr... and the food scrumptious.

Tugu Malang: "Excellent Place to Stay"

Review by: Retnomsf | Source: Trip Advisor
"Hotel Tugu Malang is a place to stay for those who love art and history combined with pleasure. While the service is way beyond average, one will also find that the food served in the restaurant and the snacks sold in the small shop house behind the hotel are able to entertain the taste buds. The artistic decoration of the hotel can also entertain the eyes. Absolutely nothing to complain, but....since there is nothing perfect in this world, I would suggest that each staff is provided with the same level of knowledge and way to explain the history of the hotel, the owner, the rooms and the antique goods so that all guests will get the same knowledge"
