Villa Mathis: "A Trip to Paradise’"
What a fantastic holiday with my Mother and two sisters!! Fred and Fifi where the ultimate managers, dropping by for a chat each day. You don't get that at the big hotels! The staff where brilliant, and the rooms and gardens fabulous in this secret, private, quite boutique hotel. The Bali 'feel' was everywhere, with its beautiful architecture. Perfect for a romantic getaway or like us, a family get together.Maduzi Hotel: "Worth the experience at Maduzi"
"Everything here is excellent! Service is very good. Although some of the young staffs do not speak much English but the senior lady in charge, who speaks good English tries her very best to help with enquiries. Food was great, served in a lovely dining area with relaxing ambience. It's worthwhile to add breakfast into your booking as you are allowed to order 2 dishes + 1 juice + 1 hot beverage. Although it's not buffet style here, the menu is great with seriously delicious French, Thai and Japanese cuisines. I love best the 'Avocado in 4 ways' and the Japanese salmon dish! It's a fresh change from buffet style breakfast in most hotels where one gets many choices of food but nothing really spectacular. The bar near reception serves complimentary drinks and everything in the mini bar of the room is also complimentary with personal coffee machine. There is a fantastic work station plus a luxurious recliner chair too which are so convenient. Bed is really huge, with super comfy sheets and ample big and normal sized pillows. Room is huge, decor is lovely with spacious dressing area + walk in wardrobe area. Only setback for the bed was the comforter which is not big enough for the bed, but it's a negligible issue. The bathroom is creatively designed with infinity jacuzzi bathtub. It's great for most guests but what is lacking here is a good strong shower. It's rain shower here with weak 'splayed out' flow that is not adjustable, and one can almost stay dry standing at the centre. There is no shower head at the jacuzzi bathtub. I had to shower using the strong flow of water coming from the ceiling meant to fill up the jacuzzi tub. Hope this problem will be looked into by the management as taking a strong satisfying shower is vital for some guests! Overall this place is awesome, location is good and prices are reasonable! "Misool Eco Resort: "Spectacular and Amazing vacation"
"Wow, how does one write a review about paradise. This place is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth with diving that surely rivals the best on earth. From A to Z, this place is top notch. We stayed in Water Cottage 1 right by the Dive Shop and loved the proximity to our daily dive ritual. The cottage itself is gorgeous, all made from salvaged local wood. The outdoor bathroom/shower is perfect for the setting, full of eco-friendly bath products. The veranda is amazing with lounge chairs, a bed and a hammock (over the lagoon), offering incredibly views of the lagoon and fish down below, plus stairs down to lagoon for easy access for swimming or snorkeling or just a dip to cool off. The cottage was cleaned and refreshed every morning during our first dive. The bed set up with the AC and mosquito netting is tastefully done and did in fact prevent mosquitos from getting in while keeping us cool and comfortable at night. The food was delicious from morning till night. Fresh bread, tasty homemade granola, egg dishes, smoothies, juices, salads, desserts, fish, chicken, pasta, etc. And I can't forget to mention the fresh baked fantastic cookies served every afternoon. The chef serves a wide variety of great food to keep the guests sustained and ready to spend their days diving or snorkeling. They also serve a wide variety of wine and some beer. The staff in the restaurant provided excellent service. As for the diving, well, it's impossible to really describe other than to say it is out of this world. Since returning I have decided the best way to describe it is like in the cartoons such as Finding Nemo or The Little Mermaid. The incredible variety of coral really is THAT colorful and gorgeous. The fish really are that big and stunning. Tons of schools of all sorts of fish - bump heads, snapper, giant trivially, and batfish. Plus sharks, turtles, eels, sea cucumbers, sea horses, starfish, sea worms, banner fish, clown fish and the list goes on. But the coup de grace of Misool diving is the manta ray. Massive and majestic creatures that are otherworldly. I could dive with them all day and never get bored. The organization of the diving is the best I have ever experienced. Extreme attention is paid to safety. I always felt in good hands thanks to all the staff including Calvin and Sabine, but especially our amazing and caring dive master James. We went diving with him for 8 days on the same boat with the same equipment master and speedboat driver. They were so kind and thoughtful, I wanted to take them home with me. There was something amazing to see on every single dive. The one down side about this place is that we had to leave. And I do believe that I am now forever spoiled. Misool Eco Resort is truly a 5 star destination."Satri House: "Most Lovely Stay"
"Go to Luang Prabang, a World Heritage City, and stay at this lovely, restored French colonial hotel. Every detail is carefully addressed, and the rooms are really charming. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is good, and bikes are provided to ride into town. It is a relaxing oasis in a beautiful town. Stayed July 2016, traveled solo"Villa Song: "Colonial luxury at a reasonable price."
"We stayed at Villa Song for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and efficient, giving tips about taxi scams to avoid and guiding us to very good excursions to both the Cu Chi tunnels and the Mekong Delta. There is a complimentary private water taxi from the hotel’s jetty into the centre of Ho Chi Minh city which made the journey much quicker, more scenic and gave a touch of exclusivity. The hotel is well appointed, our room had a river view and was really quite big. It had all the things you’d want as well as a lovely view of the river. The hotel itself is very attractive, in a colonial style with a sweeping staircase and plenty of airy space. The pool is a good size (perhaps 25m) and there is plenty of loungers etc, thick towels and an adjacent gym. Although we didn’t use it much the fact that the mini bar was complimentary was a nice touch. My only criticism would be that the laundry service was unnecessarily expensive with it costing over 1 million Dong to have a few shirts, shorts and underwear washed and pressed. Admittedly we did use the express service but it just felt like it was more expensive than it needed to be, especially in a place where you’d want to wear an ironed shirt and shorts. I must point out that the cost of the service was clear before we used it with a full audited list completed by the guest and the hotel, so there were no surprises. The restaurant has a very nice set menu or a la carte although the set menu didn’t change over our three night stay. We ate there twice and enjoyed the food both times. We also ate in the restaurant of the hotel next door which, whilst it was nice, was not of the same quality (or price, quite a bit cheaper) and the service was a little rushed. My wife used the spa and felt her pedicure was well done and good value for money. All round I’d say if you like a bit of luxury and are happy to pay for it you’d be hard pressed to find a better location than Villa Song and I’d happily go back again another time."MesaStila: "Amazing!"
We just spend 4 wonderful nights at MesaStila! The good experience already started when we were picked up at the airport - our flight was delayed quiet a lot but the chauffeur was still there waiting for us with cold drinks, snacks and cold wet towels just What we needed. He also arrange for us that pizza was awaiting us when we arrived at then hotel as it would be very late before we arrived . We stayed in the family vila and it was really nice. It was spacious and with a wonderful bathroom (big golden tub) and with a huge balcony with the most amazing view. The hotel was so clean and all the surrounding at the hotel was just stunning. The staff was extremely helpful and also the food and spa was great. We also booked the combined temple sunrise tour with the hotel and that was also really good! Can only give my highest recommendation to this wonderful place!Mie Cafe: "Modern ideas paired with Cambodian Kitchen"
A lovely setting in a Khmer style house. Sit outside and enjoy the dishes prepared by a chef with creativity. Very attentive and friendly staff.Tugu Bali: "Beautiful Tugu"
There is a delightful languor that hangs over the Hotel Tugu. Canggu is laid back and beachy and casual but the hotel exists in its own little bubble of languid splendor. It takes a little while to surrender yourself to the requisite level of sensual abandon to truly appreciate the place, but try. A cup of ginger or cinnamon tea served in a celadon green tea cup on the veranda whilst you nibble delicious Balinese sweets, a swim in the sparkling pool adorned with fountains or (if you are lucky enough) a refreshing plunge in your own private pool, a long shower or soak in your semi open-air bathroom, while the carp in the adjoining pond look on, a short nap in the enormous four poster teak bed followed by an Arak Exotica as the sun sets over the beach and you should be suitably in the zone. If you are feeling moderately adventurous you can wander around the grounds and appreciate the architecture, art and antiques or poke around the cool, dark museum shop for treasures. It's a gorgeous, delightful, sexy place. I was well looked after.NEELESHWAR: "Superb"
"What a wonderful place. We are not easily impressed as we have been working in the travel industry for years so have stayed in some of the top hotels of the world but Neeleshwar is exceptional. We stayed 6 nights and left regrettably so happy and relaxed. Everything was perfection!! "Slow Villas and Spa: "Luxurious Retreat"
"We stayed three nights in the 2 bedroom/2 bath villa at Slow and had an amazing time! The accommodations are wonderful and very private - comfortable beds and very clean. The outdoor bathroom allows you to take a shower under the stars! There was so much attention to detail, including beach hats and bags, head lamps, and a cell phone left in the rooms for our use. Bottled drinking water is provided and is refilled as needed at no additional cost. There was a free pilates class offered every other day and our stay included a 30 minute massage for each person. Bikes are available for rent at a reasonable cost. It is also possible to order food to be delivered to your villa or have a chef come to your villa to cook for you. Julie, one of the owners, is super accommodating and helpful. She helped us to plan our next destination in Lombok and very graciously made sure that all of the plans were secured before we left. The location of the property is on a dirt road (like all of the ""roads"" on the island) about a 5 minute walk to the beach. If you go out for dinner, you will probably need to walk about 15-20 minutes to reach a restaurant. Take flashlight and mosquito spray with you, as there are no street lamps, but it still felt very safe. The villa area is locked up at night and there is someone on duty to provide security. Breakfast was included in the stay and delivered to the villa each morning. There were about 6 different breakfast options to choose from. The food was delicious and such huge quantities! What a treat! If you want to be pampered and relax, this is the place for you! Thank you, Julie and all other staff at Slow Villas for an amazing time on Gili Air!"
