THE SAMAR: "The Samar Villa & Spa Resort"
I highly recommend this delightful boutique hotel in Siem Reap. The staff were welcoming, efficient and professional. We received good advice with regard to visiting the historic sites from the General Manager Bertrand and arrangements were put in place to make it very easy for us to make the most of our time there yet we were still able to fully enjoy our stay. Situated near to Angkor Wat and the center of town yet peaceful and quiet within the bounds of the hotel. A clean and pleasant swimming pool. We were served a very generous breakfast. All the meals we ate at the Hotel were well presented and very tasty with dishes on the menu to suit all palates.Villa Song: "Simply Wow"
This was the hotel we chose as our starting point for your adventures in Vietnam. And what a place. Calm location right by the river proved to be the best possible introduction. Great staff and marvelous food.Sandat Glamping Tents: "Loved it!"
My boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves and try glamping. We absolutely loved it! We stayed in a rice hut (Barong) and it was amazing. Staff were really friendly and always happy to help. Although the location is a little far out, the shuttle service acted like a personal driver for us! The road leading to Sandat was a little bumpy, but not a big issue at all. Breakfast was great as well. The whole experience was lovely and the quiet of the surrounding rice fields really made out stay more relaxing. The only drawback would be the wifi which was a little temperamental.Maison Polanka: "Haven in a garden"
"We had a blissful stay for three nights. Staff was very friendly, helpful and made us feel at home. We stayed in the Yellow room which we thought was the best room in the main house as it was private, located right next to the shared coffee/tea making facilty and had a big, light bathroom. We arranged for two temple tours through the hotel and the guide allocated was informative and a terrific photographer. Choose this place if you want a quiet place off the touristy area but close enough to hop on a tuk tuk to Pub St in approximately 10mins!"Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel: "A great, deep and perfect experience"
I spent 3 days with my family (kids: 7 & 8 years) in the Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel. I am a very spoiled customer but can say: Wow! What a great and deep experience. We felt welcomed from the very first minute. We loved the very friendly and attentative service be it in the restaurant or at the reception. The hotel team organized excursions for us to Edo Wonderland, the cultural highlights of Nikko or a rafting trip on the Kinugawa river. The team took care end to end and even organized the required tickets. The rooms (we had a japanese standard room with2 beds) were very clean and a good mix of modern luxury and the traditional japanese style. The onsen is beautiful and the Kaiseki kitchen is remarkable.(...) And yes, you need to have time. Not all members of the hotel team speak English but they surely will get you someone with the required language skills. That might take a minute longer but the hotel team demonstrated to be very flexible and even more important: they really took care to make our stay a relaxed, pleasent and deep experience. If you are up for that, this is the hotel for you. If you are looking for an international highspeed service and have no time nor patience or interest to have a dialogue with people then you might stay in a larger hotel chain.Muang La Lodge: "Unforgettable!"
"Our 3 nights in this timeless place were absolutely fantastic! The place is magic. The staff is incredibly professional and attentive and services went over our expectations. Breakfast is absolutely gorgeous. Croissant, Pain au Chocolat, Bread, Eggs, Homemade Jam, Fresh fruits...we enjoyed everything! The lunch is also very good. Simple and very tasteful dishes. Dinner is a bit more fancy. The taste and the presentation were much more subtle. You should try their cocktails! Especially one made with passion fruit, basil and Lao Lao, a traditional alcohol. We really enjoyed the food and the service. For our last dinner they even prepared an isolated table just for us! Thank you again for this very kind attention! The room was very clean and well furnished. The view on the river was very pleasant! We were very impressed by the discretion and level of professionalism of the housekeeping team. The swimming pool and the pool bar has been the place where we were spending our last minutes of sun everyday. Definitely a place where we were astonished by the beauty of the scenery. In short, our experience has been much more surprising than expected...This place made us aware of the incredible moments we were living. Priceless."Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "More than excellent hotel on the lake"
"This hotel far exceeded expectations. We were drawn to this hotel because of their approach - not for profit organization which provides on-site vocational training to young people in the region providing them a skill set in the ever growing hospitality industry. - Property/rooms nicely designed & well-maintained. - Housekeeping staff great. Rooms thoroughly cleaned. Great turn down service. - Restaurant staff also great. Helpful and had good command of English language. - Breakfast and dinner was delicious. Extra star for breakfast - homemade baked goods and jam! I've had over cooked scrambled eggs in many places. But not here! - Gift shop was great. All their products are from disadvantaged community groups around the area so what you buy goes back to support their livelihood. - Loved the organic vegetable garden growing on property. - Only thing average was massage service. Not sure they are properly trained. Only regret is that we didn't stay longer! I was pleasantly surprised to see the caliber of service from these student trainees we received. To the management - whatever training program you have designed, you have done it extremely well! Please keep up these standards! Stayed March 2016, traveled with family"Misool Eco Resort: "Almost Unbelievable"
Spent a very happy week here after a previous week in Northern Raja Ampat. The diving here is the best we have ever experienced with seemingly endless coral gardens and abundant fish. The lagoon on which the resort was built houses many juvenile fish and sharks and can be snorkeled directly from your cabin. Cabins are excellent and the whole resort beautiful but what makes it is the staff - friendly, attentive and passionate about what they do ... the daily fresh biscuits aren't bad either. Magic Mountain is the best dive site... I could dive it every day and never be bored.Amata Lanna: "Beautiful Amata Lanna"
Amazing staff. Very poilte and helpful. Hotel has bikes to ride to the city and other helpful items such as umbrellas. Hotel is very peaceful and spa like with beautiful wooden features. Delicious breakfast. Well worth the price. Would highly recommend!Maison Polanka: "Our favourite place ever!"
We have never enjoyed a place to stay - anywhere we have travelled - more than Maison Polanka. This is like staying in someone's home - or the home you might dream about having one day. With large, beautiful gardens and an elegant swimming pool, but only a handful of rooms so it's very peaceful never feels crowded even with other guests around. We also had the best Cambodian food of our trip in their restaurant, which is really just a few tables outside by the pool, but outshone anywhere else we ate. Off menu, they were kind enough to make a special noodle soup (nom banh chok) one day for us for lunch - it was delicious and worth making a special request for (in advance). We stayed in the Khmer House as a treat, and it was beautiful and spacious, though I think anyone would be happy with any of the rooms they have. But the best part of Maison Polanka are the people who work there who are warm, welcoming and willing to help with everything, from tour planning, surprise afternoon cakes by the pool, and a wonderfully memorable trip to the Road 60 night market for a dinner of insects, stuffed frogs and other more familiar foods! Our thanks in particular to Cathy, Chan, and Vong! Don't bother looking anywhere else in Siem Reap, just stay here!
