VILLA SONG SAIGON: "Wonderful! Keep Up The Great Work"
"Stunning boutique property in district 2 of the city yet feels and looks like you are far more rural. We stayed here twice and were given a very warm and typical Vietnamese welcome each time. Service was impeccable and attentive without being intrusive. All seemed to have a very genuine interest in how we were and what we had done each day. Great sized lovely pool for the number of guests accommodated, chilled to exactly the right temperature! To the rear of the hotel is a beautiful garden, bar and indoor/outdoor restaurant overlooking the river and across to the fields. Chilled music adds to the very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out by the river with a drink (or two) each evening! An excellent menu and wine list provide great choice and all of the food was beautifully presented and absolutely superb. The hotels speed boat provides a courtesy shuttle service between the hotel and centre of the city in just 15 minutes, far quicker than going by road! Exceptional service from a clearly dedicated, highly trained and competent team. Nothing is too much trouble. We hope to return soon... "Reverie Siam: "Perfect Hotel in Pai"
"This hotel is very nice and charming. We stayed on a villa. The room is quite big with spacious bathroom with jacuzzi inside. You have a very nice garden view from your jacuzzi tub. It's like an open-air bathroom but closed with glass window. Very comfortable bed and day bed. You have your own balcony with private back yard. It's fantastic! You have a very generous breakfast here: 1 main dish, 1 sweet dish and 2 beverages. I Iove the decoration of every corner of the hotel. Staffs here are very polite and friendly. They are very well trained! Big thanks to the management team and all staffs. Stayed January 2017, traveled with family"The Island Lodge: "Excellent"
Loved this place with the super friendly staff, the welcoming owner, the huge room, the tour which we took and was guided by an excellent guide. I highly recommend for a couple of days after the busy Ho Chi Min City, it’s like a peaceful heaven. They were very flexible on check out timing too and let us stay for a couple of more hours.Chakrabongse Villas: "Bangkok’s best kept secret hotel"
I only knew about this hotel due to the history of the Chakrabongse family, and therefore really wanted to stay there. Quite frankly it feels that you are staying in a private house in the epicentre of old Bangkok rather than a hotel. We stayed in the garden room, and even had friends over for dinner on the terrace for one of the nights. I wish I could afford to stay here every time I am in BKK, but think I will just have to settle for when I want to treat myself (and the wife !) to something special. absolutely brilliant place to stay.
The Cabochon Hotel: "Outstanding and charming"
Amazingly beautiful colonial style hotel where every single detail has been meticulously thought through. Great staff, beautiful breakfast and the most charming bar with crazy good gin and tonics. Incredible to find such a zen like oasis in the middle of Sukhumvit and all it offers.Maison Polanka: "Hidden Oasis"
A wonderful haven -- such a luxury to stay in a tiny hotel that feels like it could be your own house. Incredible food and sweet caring staff. When we left and continued on the rest of our trip, no other hotel could compete.David’s Kitchen: "Wonderful night for our 21st anniversary"
"After our initial plans to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary fell through, we were immensely grateful that David's Kitchen could not only accommodate us last minute, but make the night so special with those little extra touches..table decorations, anniversary card and flowers. The food was wonderful! Atmosphere perfect, from the moment we drove into the parking lot. The menu was extensive, with so many wonderful things to choose from. We will definitely have to go back again and try all the other menu items! Thankyou to David and your staff for a wonderful evening."Mathis Retreat: "Excellent Boutique Hotel"
"Me and my girlfriend (both 25 y/o from London) stayed at the Mathis Retreat for 5 nights. We thought it was fantastic and was everything we were looking for from our first visit to Bali. Room: We stayed in room 1, this was one of the bungalows and it was beautiful. (As in, we got that tingly feeling of excitement when we walked in!). The decor was tasteful, the room was cool and spacious and amenities such as shampoo and tea were provided. Food: The restaurant on site was fantastic. Breakfast is from a menu where you choose the things that you want, then they are cooked and brought to you. There is a good range of food and as we tried everything (more than once) we can confidently say it was all delicious. However, breakfast paled in comparison to just how great dinner was - arguably some of the nicest food we had during our 3 week stay. It is more expensive than most other places but is worth it particularly considering the environment and setting (see below). There is a great range of Indonesian and westernized food. Setting/Environment: If rice fields and nature is your jam then this place will certainly deliver. Sitting at the restaurant/in the pool and overlooking the fields is spectacular and on arrival will certainly give that wow factor. Truly the photos on TA do not do it justice. Staff: Everyone is lovely, it really is as simple as that. Even when waking the receptionist at 2:15 am (climbing Batur) he came out with a smile and did everything he could to help. Special shout out goes to Karen the manager who clearly makes an effort to talk to all the guests and provide insight into what can be done in Ubud and how to do everything you want to. Tours/Guides: We tried to do as much as we could for our stay in Ubud and think 5 days was the perfect amount of time. However, this was utilizing the guides provided by Karen who were superb and we would highly recommend using them as oppose to navigating the place yourself. In particular, we were very humbled by an opportunity to visit one of the guides homes and see how him, his family and their community live (they had a blacksmith, weaver and fighting chickens!). This was an eye opener into just how different life is for most locals in Bali and how tourism has changed things. Our guides name was 'Susa Wayan' get him if you can! Conclusion: Mathis Retreat was great and we can't really fault it. Staff made it clear they were there to help for any issue and would definitely go back if in that part of the world again. One final point - we paid 350k for the journey to the airport in kuta. Don't pay anymore than that (and you can probably get it cheaper!)"Reverie Siam: "Wonderful Location for a get-away"
We came to Pai on a recommendation from a friend. When we got to town, we were nervous that we had made a bad travel decision. However, as soon as we stepped out of the car at the Reverie Siam, we knew we were going to be okay. The grounds were BEAUTIFUL!! It was so nice to have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the open air dining area. Lounging by the pool while taking in the gorgeous scenery was heavenly. Our room was charming and so comfortable. Definitely a wonderful stay and worth the almost 800 turns to the city of Pai!!
