Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Magical stay!"
"We spent 2 nights at Tiger Mountain but it could have been much more. Superb stay from our first pick up and welcome to our goodbye. From Pokhara it is about 40 min drive up the mountain on a typical Nepali road but then you arrive in an tranquil oasis where you will only hear the birds. Lodge is located on a mountain with sweeping views over Pokhara valley on both sides. Rooms have amazing views towards the Himalayas, perfect for sunrise watching (they will serve coffee/tea and cookies at about 5.30 in your room to accompany the sunrise) Upon our arrival, the lunch table was set on the terrace with a view to the Himalayas and we were served delicious Nepali dishes. Tea was served in the afternoon with home made snacks. Followed by happy hour at 6 and diner around 7.30. Again with delicious Nepali dishes. Had amazing jackfruit curry, some sort of stir fried ferns, spinach dish, home made chutneys, water buffalo curries. I think I would have exploded after a week at the lodge as I had to finish everything. Quality of the food is fantastic, all organic, grown in the area, fresh and everything home made. Even the herbal tea came from their own garden. In the morning there was home made yoghurt with homemade muesli, homemade jams & preserves, honey from Pokhara, homemade bread. Yummy. The lodge offers guides to take you for walks according to your liking. We did a village walk around the hotel and the next day a ridge walk where we had beautiful views over the rice terraces, villages and Himalayas. The guide took us through villages and explained about village life. Staff at the lodge is fantastic: friendly, helpful and offering great service. There is a swimming pool with again magical views, certainly in the early morning you can see the Himalayas reflected in the water. It is a shame it is so far away from Hong Kong otherwise I would be back for a relaxing long weekend. And there is only wifi in the lobby (if it is working, this is Nepal) so relaxing is really good as you can't connect to the outside world! Yes it's not on the beaten track but well worth finding. This chef is a genius at combining flavours in creative ways. Presentation & service were also 1st rate. If you're in KL & looking for amazing cuisine seek this place out.Jing’s Residence: "Fantastic Hotel! Fantastic Service!"
"We decided to visit Pingyao based on Lonely Planet recommendations (Pingyao is famous as a walled city and well-known for its local goods). So glad we did! This hotel was the best during our China/HK holiday. It is an oasis in an otherwise dusty and remote location. The room and facilities is top notch although don't expect to watch TV as there is none except in the guest lounge. You won't miss it though as the hotel offers spa treatments; noodle making and paper cutting classes. We were able to relax in the guest lounge with complimentary afternoon tea. All tea and delicacies (we had eight bean treasure one day and a type of porridge the next) are locally produced and were delicious. The restaurant is great for both breakfast and dinner with a wide selection available. Loved the scrambled eggs Chinese style on a bed of steamed rice for breakfast. Personal service and attention from all the staff is second to none but especially from the resident manager, Imam, who is outstanding. He was always available to assist or ensure our needs were being met and popped up magically as we would pass through the lobby area. On our final morning of our stay he took us on a personal tour of a ruined courtyard giving us a tremendous insight into how the locals lived many years ago as well as escorting us to a local shoe manufacturer. We would definitely stay here again and the hotel and friendliness make this place worth the detour to Pingyao itself! "Satri House: "Might be my favorite hotel of all time!!!"
Spent 5 nights on our honeymoon here and it was magical. I am obsessed with the Satri house, it has tremendous character, impeccable customer service and truly is a dream come true. I cannot wait to return to Luang Prabang just to visit this hotel! Keep it up!Jing’s Residence: "You must stay here!"
"It's beautiful. really. The rooms and courtyards and hotel lobby. All done excellently. The restaurant is beyond fantastic. We had two dinners there (they were included in the package we selected). It's a fixed menu and each dish was superb. My girlfriend, who is Chinese, said each dish really captures the essence of Chinese cooking with a subtle balance of tastes. It's quiet. We were in the back of the hotel (and there were few other guests). We were able to sleep with our window next to the bed open for natural cooling. The hotels offers a free transfer from the railway station and its centrally located in the ancient city, but far enough away from the tourist area not to be noisy or crowded. It is only a 3 minute walk along East street to get to the main intersection with South street. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful. English mastery varies person to person, but it is easy to communicate."Rachamankha: "Perfect"
This is one of the prettiest places we have ever stayed. Every thing about it was beautiful. Incredible attention to detail. We wanted to move in!!!! The restraunt had a great chef and live oriental music during diner that was very special. The hotel is a pretty close tuk tuk ride to to most anywhere. Best vacation ever!Discover Muang La | Visit Laos | Luxury & Boutique Hotel: "Unforgettable stay!"
"My two days in Muang La were over my high expectations. Everything was fabulous from the location to all the attentions and details of service. The staff is so generous and warm with a special mention to the Lao staff who try and manage to speak English and to provide standard keys of hospitality services to the guest. I loved the deck, the meals all different every night, the pool overlooking the river, the hot springs and the hike to the falls we did with our guide. I loved this escape ... thank you to Raphael and his assistant to make this lodge and experience fabulous"Inle Princess Resort: "Top of the Line"
"The best place to stay on Inle Lake. Gorgeous private lakeside location with beautifully landscaped ground. Well located for touring. Totally service oriented in the most friendly of ways. Very comfortable large individual chalets with large balconies, fireplace, seating area, fridge, safe, large bathroom to include outdoor shower. Nice pool area to relax at day's end. Beautiful lakeside deck for meals. We have high expectations and they were met. On arrival we asked for extra lamps (we don't like dark rooms), space heaters for the bathroom and main room and extra blankets and towels ... all were promptly and cheerfully provided. The dinning room staff was exceptional helpful in arranging meals to our individual taste. Plan on eating here ... no where else to eat."Sea Dance Resort: "Unforgetable Holiday"
"I have to say that Sea Dance is one of the best hotel resorts I have been to! I enjoyed every moment I was there with their warm hospitality from Poy, Faith, Helen and the rest of the team! For those who love to have your privacy in terms of the beach itself, I would recommend the Sea Dance Resort! Trust me, you would never forget about it. Moreover, I was impressed by the Thai staff, Khun Pa, from the Sea Bass restaurant as l left my reading glasses behind and went to search for them but couldn't find them. She then followed up my request promptly and brought them back for me at the villa. Another lady was Khun Toy, the head chef, who always attended my spacial meal's requests and made sure that I would satisfy with those meals throughout my stay. How lucky The Sea Dance to have the thoughtful & caring staff like them. Last but not least, my favourite part was the live music which was performed by Gustavo and his friend, Niko! What a memorable experience ever! Keep up your wonderful work, Poy and your team! I'll be back again soon. Thank you very much for your uniqueness and professional service!"tugu lombok: "Too good… Tugu!"
We are travellers who enjoy the splurge when it's worth it but never like to return to locations we have previously visited (the world is just too big). Tugu is one of those places we would love to visit again though, if only for its uniqueness. One of the first things you'll hear on your intro is that Tugu is not for everyone and this is the kind of thing that makes me happy on holidays. Who wants to spend money to get holidays that are "for everyone"? In Tugu you will be taken care of individually. We stayed 4 nights at Dadap Merah on the Retreat package and definitely recommend the package to all. The room is unique and -frankly- perfect. We loved the rustic quirkiness of the resort and the kindness of all staff. Terima kasih and you again!
