Hotel Tugu Malang: "Fantastic museum that functions as a splendid hotel"
"The Hotel Tugu in Malang is truly a gem that is worth visiting when in the area. The high tea is amazing in a colonial setting with a huge array of teas and coffees and also the accompanying delicacies. I highly recommend going on the art tour with Manda, the Guest Recognition Officer. She eloquently explained the most important pieces of art and gave us a nice tour through the whole hotel. In the evening we went to the (cigar) bar, where there's an impressive selection of cocktails, wines and spirits. The bartender was a bit disconnected, but made good cocktails. The breakfast was the only part we were able to enjoy at the restaurant, since we went somewhere else for dinner. Again, a huge selection from which you can choose your preference (healthy options included). Certainly worth visiting, especially for the price they offer. I can even highly recommend the Presidential Suite for 15,000,000 that Manda was so kind to show us. What an impressively sized bed it has, wow! John from the reception was extremely kind too! I almost forgot the most amazing part: even though it's located right in the heart of the city and next to a busy road, the rooms are completely quiet and you enjoy a relaxing sleep."Inle Princess Resort: "Best on the lake"
From the minute the engine on the boat turns off and the driver starts to paddle into the inlet towards the hotel you know this is good. Magical setting - good bar and restaurant, wonderful staff, great spa treatments, lots of activities can be arranged. Nothing is too much trouble.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "New Year Eve treat"
We loved our meal on new years eve. Great value for 6 courses of quality food, particularly loved the Amuse Bouche. Staff were very nice and the chef visited each table. Made the evening special.Manda De Laos: "Best restaurant in town"
The food was amazing and service was great! The decor is beautiful, probably the nicest in Luang Prabang.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Good couple of nights"
We spent two lovely nights there. The location is stunning and the tents are very well set up with aircon, comfy beds and a great shower. The menu is short but well prpepared and we really enjoyed our kayaking expedition. It takes quite a while to get there but definitely worth a couple of nights for something memorable and different.Heritage Suites: "Fantastic hotel with wonder staff"
"We cannot praise this beautiful hotel enough. We were there celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and the hotel gave us a lovely bottle of prosecco and flowers. They also upgraded us to a lovely bungalow, which was amazing. The staff were so attentive always opening doors for us, bringing out an umbrella when we get out the taxi in the rain; it made us feel very spoilt. It was a little way from the main area for eating in the evenings, around Pub Street, but a tuk tuk was very cheap at only $3. If you want to stay in a boutique hotel with the very personal touch then this is a definite."The Village House: "wonderful people"
"Most reviews describe the lovely setting and the tranquility of Village House but for me the people there are amazing. Ever friendly and helpful, they helped to make my trip to Sarawak the wonderful experience that it turned into! The food was amazing as well.... try the chefs Sarawak Laksa... You'll not be disappointed!! If you're looking for a base to explore the Santubong/Kuuching area, that is quiet and slightly off the beaten track but accessible to the outside world? Try Village House"Mie Cafe: "Lovely!"
Elegant, delicious food and lovely ambiance for our dinner. But book early if you have a specific date/time you want to eat, as we had to eat later than we wanted just to get a reservation. So glad we were flexible! A perfect way to end our trip.misool: "An incredible marine experience!"
"Andrew and Marit have accomplished the almost-impossible by building this remote, luxurious resort on an island in Raja Ampat, mostly from driftwood, and without a fresh-water source. It is a dive resort, but we are snorkelers, and were extremely well taken care of by Andrew, Marit, Mark, Sue, Calvin, two wonderful men both named Ali in the restaurant, and also young ""Soo press"", and the lovely masseuses Banne and Reeshna at the spa. We were assigned a private boat driven by the excellent Sam Saul and a private guide, ""Son"" (for Nelson), who took us on very many enlightening snorkelling excursions near the island. We even swam with 3 manta rays at ""Magic Mountain""! We were in paradise! The conservation philosophy of this resort is commendable and inspiring, and we were left with a feeling of hopefulness for the future of this marine habitat. Well done, Andrew and Marit, and staff! "The Apsara Rive Droite: "Lovely quiet place in Luang Prabang"
We chose to stay at the Apsara Rive Droite because it is close to the old town of Luang Prabang (without being in it) and on the banks of the river. The hotel is small but has everything you need: charming + helpful staff, swimming pool, delicious breakfast, a boat to take you across the river to the old town, bicycles and lots of recommendations of things to do. We had a great stay and would recommend anyone going to Luang Prabang for a few days to stay here.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
