Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Rural eco-lodge with stunning views"
We stayed here for a couple of nights in October 2015. It was the ideal relaxation before embarking on a trek in the Annapurna region. The lodge aims to be very eco-friendly and produces much of its own food in the grounds. Escorted walks are possible; we went on a short 2-hour one and gained an insight into Nepalese rural life. We stayed in our own bungalow, and took meals and drinks in the main building, which has a bar and restaurant. The food was excellent! Our lunches were Nepalese and dinner more European in style, and the breakfasts were huge! We enjoyed sun-downers and snacks in the evening in the bar, and during power cuts it was romantically candle-lit! We were woken early with coffee at our room to view the sunrise over the Fishtail mountain - a fabulous sight! Attentive and friendly staff made our visit perfect.David’s Kitchen: "Exceptional service and attention to detail"
"From the moment we (my husband, adult daughter, friend and myself) were collected from our accommodation, greeted warmly on arrival and chauffeured back to our hotel, our experience at David's Kitchen will be remembered as a highlight of our holiday. The staff were attentive but discreet. David's hospitality was much appreciated as was his advice on matching wines with menu choices. And the meal did not disappoint - exceeded all expectations. The food presentation was only excelled by the amazing flavours and textures of each course. I have no hesitation in recommending David's Kitchen for those visiting Chiang Mai who are looking for a very special dining experience."Villa Mathis: "Absolument sublime"
7EME FOIS QUE NOTRE PETIT SÉJOUR A LA VILLA MATHIS NOUS A ENCHANTÉ ( C'est un hôtel absolument sublime)Inle Princess Resort: "My kind of paradise"
This resort is everything and more of what you could possibly expect for a great holiday. Contrary to most other lake resort on Inle, it is very quiet and feels very private. Rooms were amazing and staff was very friendly and helpful. Great Spa in a nice setting is a plus as well.Muang La Resort: "Doesn’t get any better than this"
This is a beautiful small resort that has everything from hot springs, saunas, massage, trips, etc. It is located on the river with natural hot springs where the villagers come at 5:00 to bathe. Besides these public springs there are two large hot tubs on the property. There is great attention to detail here from the citronella candles, to infusion teas, to well appointed rooms. It is really a magical place to sit and relax. Try to spend 3 nights so you can enjoy the facility as well as go on some excursions to the temple and villages in the surrounding area. The food is a set menu ( 5 courses for dinner) and excellent. Home made yogurts and sorbet and local Lao dishes with locally sourced ingredients. If in Laos, come here!Chakrabongse Villas: "A palace"
It's not often you get to stay in a real palace. And the Traditional Thai teak sala hotel rooms on its palace grounds are unique and remarkable. Our room fronted the Chao Praya river, and candidly, our private lanai/patio was double the size of most hotel rooms these days. Not cheap, but an experience. And perfect for that very very special celebration Best of all, Tatien district, which is behind the royal palace and Wat Po, is experiencing a revival with new eateries, things to do and trendy hotels. We loved the Museum Siam directly across from Chakrabongse Villas, and the River Books bookstore o hotel premises. Don't miss nearby Err restaurant, traditional Thai from the folks that gave us bo.lan.The Cabochon Hotel: "Peace in the middle of the madness"
"Stayed for 3 days recently and was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was considering its location a stones throw from the Sukhumvit Rd. The most impressive thing was the size of the room. We were in a corner room which is in fact 2 rooms so plenty of space for 2 people. The rooms at the back of the hotel are even quieter but ours on the 1st floor was dark despite there being plenty of Windows as it looked straight out onto some high bamboo which meant there was little natural light during the day. However on the 2nd we were able to move to the same size room on the opposite side which was perfect. The furnishings are comfortable and tasteful, the bed linens good quality and the shower had great water pressure. All things I look for in a hotel. The rooftop pool was a good place to escape in the afternoon when it was too hot to walk around. It was cooler on the roof than in the streets. The pool is a perfect size for lap swimming although a bit narrow for more than a couple of people. I was initially concerned that the buffet breakfast is served in the library/sitting room area with only arm chairs to sit in which makes it awkward for eating but there are a couple of tables outside which we managed to get each morning. We ate dinner in the restaurant on our first evening. It has an extensive menu and the kitchen with it's too chefs was visible so you knew you were getting everything freshly prepared. The staff are all extremely courteous and helpful and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates something a little different from the generic impersonal corporate hotels usually associated with cities."Nimmu House: "Charming and excellent"
"We stayed fro one night in a tent which was extremely comfortable. The food was also good and the entire property has great ambiance and style. The room was a little noisy in the morning because its in a village and you can't really sleep in late which is also fine in ladakh. The garden and the courtyards are great to sit and relax in. Would recommend this property for sure for a few nights at least. Wonderful experience overall."Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Heaven on Earth"
"This is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed, peace and tranquillity by the Arabian Sea, heaven on earth. The service was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, we stayed in a lovely cottage called Shanti overlooking the sea, attention to detail was of the highest standard, everything was perfect. There are just 12 cottages which make it very special. The spa was the best we have ever been too, we had a Shirodhara massage, amazing... we were rejuvenated and calmed. Breakfast was at the beach restaurant, (food was of the highest standard) after early morning yoga, what a beautiful way to start the day. We had a wonderful stay at Neeleshwar, and hope to return again. "Tugu Malang: "Fantastisch"
Have fallen in love with the Tugu Malang. Received at check-in sincerely and could choose a room. The service was 1A. The facility is decorated with enormously wide variety of artifacts. The breakfast (included) was indescribably good. From more than 15 (!) Pages we could choose our wide variety of dishes. only the hotel would come back due to Malang.
