Satri House: "Stunning"

Review by: Andrew S | Source: Trip Advisor
What more can I say other than the Satri House other than it is a beautiful property located about 15 minutes walk from the main tourist strip in Luang Prabang, and fairly east to get to from the airport. Our room was simply stunning, and super modern looking and attractive woodwork, with a high ceiling, four poster super comfy bed, decent sized bathroom (with a large shower area) and amenities - the bed also had a mosquito net which was put down to protect you at night. In addition to that, the breakfast, which was complimentary, was absolutely outstanding and cooked to order and a delight. The staff also helped organise tours for us with private operators which were all excellent and reasonably priced, and were otherwise at hand to deal with any concerns. My only criticism (including of Laos generally) is that the WiFi did not work at all throughout my visit - its a huge problem in Laos generally, and Satri House should really look into what they can do here..Other than this slight technical issue, I cannot speak any more highly of Satri House, the staff or the experience..definitely one for the memories...

Muang La Lodge: "Très beau petit hôtel en bordure d’un affluent du Mékong et de sources chaudes"

Review by: François H | Source: Trip Advisor
"Very nice small hotel (10 rooms) next to a tributary of the Mekong and hot springs pool and water (enough) hot for locals and hotel guests, 2 small private pools of hot water, 1 beautiful pool with private access to a river island with bars, etc. etc.! Do not miss the excursions in 4x4 in the beautiful mountain wilderness hosting different ethnic groups organized by the hotel with local English speaking guide! The entire staff except 2 Laotian manager. "

Reverie Siam: "Away from the city for a break"

Review by: RIBLBO | Source: Trip Advisor
"I love Reverie de Siam! The style, the service, the food, the comfort! Even the water pressure is worth mentioning,.. I've been twice and am going again in the near future. Nothing but good things to say about Seb (owner / manager) Ben Asst. General Manager and Khun Dee - the Matre de Hotel."

Anopura: "Still wonderful"

Review by: RoRoBrisbane | Source: Trip Advisor
"We returned to Anopura after three years, and enjoyed it just as much as before. The remote setting is wonderful, the accommodation is excellent, and Ishwar and his team provide a wonderful service. Breakfast by the pool, lunch in the shade and dinner under the stars are all delightful, with fresh local ingredients. On a walk with Ishwar we got to meet some of the producers of the food we'd eaten in the days before. After five hectic weeks in Rajasthan this was a marvellous way to finish our trip. We would love to return again. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

Bassac Mekong Delta Cruises by Secret Retreats: "Brilliant way to see Mekong River"

Review by: j0hnchandler124 | Source: Trip Advisor
We only had a limited time in Vietnam so decided that a trip on the Basic 111 would be a good idea, and we were not disappointed. The cabin was small but had a very comfortable bed. There was airl con, small bathroom with shower and toilet. There are lots of photos taken by other tourists. Our english speaking guide was Annie. Wonderful lady who was on hand to offer advice and explain about all we saw. Only three cabins were occupied, us, one Belgian couple and an Irish couple, which made for very pleasant company. we had a superb lunch followed by dinner in the evening. We couldn't finish the supper as we are used to only having one large meal a day. Up at dawn the next day, just in time to catch the sunrise over the river. Worth getting up that early. Breakfast had warm freshly baked bread along with eggs marmalade etc.We also had a visit to Annie's home village where she explained about life there. Later on we visited a floating market, again worth seeing as our guide explained that with improved roads and bridges it most probably won't exist in 4 or 5 years. The trip on the Bassac came to an end with a visit to a market on land. I wish I had taken pictures in the first bit, a covered fish market but I was too busy trying not to step on people or fish! Recommended.

Villa Song Saigon: "Beautiful hotel"

Review by: JannineYost | Source: Trip Advisor
It's a bit of an odd drive to get here, out of main areas and thru village streets but well worth the drive. It's a very boutique hotel. No lifts and 3 floors. Beautiful wooden floorboards everywhere. Our reception greeting was friendly and very easy check in. We had to book 2 rooms (travelling with teens) and do wish we had upgraded at least our room to have a balcony. The windows on the 3rd floor are small but do open fully which is nice. The rooms are small but beautifully appointed. Everything has been finished to a very high standard. Lovely bathrooms and very comfortable bed. The outside restaurant/bar is a gorgeous area. Exactly what we expected and part of reason for our booking here. It's a beautiful spot on the banks of the river watching the sunset (or rise). The food and drinks are really good. The dinner menu isn't Vietnamese but after almost 3 weeks we didn't mind having some fusion food. Seafood was all beautiful. The staff are lovely. The pool area is nice, a large pool, very warm with seating around it. The pool is at the back of the hotel and has no bar or cafe attached to it. The gym is small with only 1 treadmill but it's a good quality one. The free mini bar is 2 beers 3 waters 1 juice and a soft drink. The coffee in the room is terrible, luckily we bought everything we need to make our own cafe sua da with us. The free boat into the city is great. We are doing the Cu Chi tunnels tour arriving by boat and the boat driver is able to pick us up from the hotel jetty (and drop us back here) saving us 45 min trip each way to and from the meeting point. Very happy with this hotel, definitely recommend it

Satri House: "Beautiful and Serene"

Review by: JoriJack | Source: Trip Advisor
The Satri House is the perfect hotel to spend a couple of nights in Luang Prabang. Great location to main village and serene environment the pools make it very inviting. Rooms were beautiful Lao decor and the attention to detail was on point. The restaurant menu was good but not much of a selection. We wanted to try the spa but because of a staff shortage they could not accommodate us.

Samanea Beach Resort: "peaceful and clean"

Review by: suziecooch | Source: Trip Advisor
"overall this was a great place for us to stay, after travelling throughout Cambodia we found this to be perfect to relax and enjoy our down time. only a short ride into town and resort manager was so good she rang us tut tuts with no extra charge and they were there quickly breakfast is just yummy and fresh"

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Wonderfully relaxing"

Review by: Bibsley | Source: Trip Advisor
"For years my wife and I's favorite place to stay was a boutique hotel in Thailand that we discovered while working there: a (for us) perfect combination of luxury, service and simplicity. Since that closed we've vainly been searching for a replacement. I suspect nothing will ever completely replace Laem Set in my heart, but Neeleshwar Hermitage is the closest we've come. After a week travelling in Rajasthan we were ready for a recharge. Neeleshwar allowed us to completely rejuvenate in a tranquil, beautiful environment with a wonderful ayurvedic spa and yoga and meditation options. The accommodation and food are of a high quality and the staff very solicitous (barring an unfortunate and atypical experience with an incompetent and impolite tailor at the resort shop). A shame that due to the Kerala liquor laws there are no spirits sold, so no pre-dinner cocktails, we'd maybe look to bring our own fixings next time. Local wine and beer is available on request, billed as ""cold supplies"" or some-such. Overall, much to recommend, and hopefully we'll be back soon. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"
