The Samar: "Great location for Angkor Wat"

Review by: Chalet_Everest | Source: tripadvisor.com
We stayed here as a base to explore Angkor Wat and it is just 10 minutes by tuk-tuk from there, the hotel ordered our 04h45 TT to take us to Angkor for the sunrise experience. Well worth the early start, this is a truly spectacular experience and quite possibly the highlight of my Asia travels (still 17 days to go).... The hotel itself is a 10 minute ride from the centre of Siem Reap, but is located in a peaceful location away from the main road, so is very peaceful indeed. We had a suite on the ground floor (little tip, do an sweep of the room/bathroom in search of spiders), they tend to leave the room doors open whilst cleaning and if the rooms are not in use, we awoke at 04h15 to a rather large and unwanted guest in our bathroom. Even in UK I am not good with spiders, this fellow sitting on my toilet bag was huge...I was a tad alarmed. That said, it really is a lovely hotel, beautiful rooms, big comfy bed and a truly special breakfast, beautifully landscaped gardens and friendly informative and attentive staff....What more could you ask for, for $95 per night for a suite.... Great place, lovely staff, amazing country.

Locavore: "Impressive servings"

Review by: gosenturk | Source: Trip Advisor
Going to Locavore is like being at one of your favorite high-end restaurants. They offer food served in ways that you don't consider yourself. They played with ingredients and served it in their lovely place in Ubud. I was surprised by the match between the cocktails and food + the surprise snacks that were served. We recommend going all-in if you visit this place.

Bassac Cruises: "Delightful, personal trip down Mekong"

Review by: Sallie M | Source: Trip Advisor
"The boat (Bassac II) was just fabulous. We travelled at Tet, so the activities were slightly different than usual, but Tuch (spelling?) did a fantastic job. The village walk was surprisingly fun - the kids (we travelled with an 8 and 6 year old) loved it - and even ate the fruit at the end - a miracle! The rooms are so sweet. The food was lovely, and plentiful! The staff were all nice -but special shout out to Tuch. Engaged and entertaining, and knowledgeable. The boat has beautiful detail. The pace on the boat is very relaxed. We absolutely loved it. I recommend for people who enjoy relaxed, informal, but engaged service; good honest food; small groups; and who are interested in seeing some of the Mekong."

Inle Princess Resort: "Amazing Traditional Villas"

Review by: maung m | Source: Trip Advisor
We only stayed there for a night and also it was kinda low season period so yea not so many guests were around and more quiet and peaceful. For the breakfast its not that great tho. The Spa looks so nice with hybrid colonial and traditional style cottage. You can also learn more about clay pot making process, they have nice jetty for boat pick up if you up to go for ride around INLE lake. The dinning hall itself it s more looks like a traditional Myanmar theater which is also good looking. For the pool, even its small, its still looks so beautiful with the set up and surrounding lake and plants. For overall, its a nice views with inner lake surrounded by the villas, very large villas interior, outside shower with large area, very fast wifi internet, nice people around. For me i really dont find it very good food for breakfast, may be i was there on the low season and not many guests are around and also staffs. Anyway the resort itself is so beautiful and interior decorations with stunning views.

Tugu Lombok: "Over any expectations – just a dream place!"

Review by: Kathy-Red | Source: Trip Advisor
"We have spent the greatest six days at Tugu Lombok in the end of May/beginning of June 2016 to celebrate our wedding at Sire Beach. Already before being there, we could feel the warm and personalized service of the team of Tugu Lombok, which helped us to organize the complete wedding arrangements ahead, including legal steps. There was nothing we could not have asked for. Thanks Evi and Hanny for showing so much affort and passion in helping us celebrating the best day of our life! Once we finally arrived at our wedding location, we were stunned by the unique setting of this great hotel. No matter where you look, each corner has its own charme and atmosphere. All staff is very attentive and service oriented. From the first day on, they knew our names (all of them). Evi and Hanny (the resort manager) showed us again the planned rundown for our wedding day and we could finalize final details, such as exact location of the altar. The hotel itself let you calm down and relax right away. We have stayed two nights at the Aloon Aloon Villa and got then an upgrade to the villa with the pool towards the ocean, called Bhagavat Gita Oceanfront Suites. Both options are great. The bathroom can be compared with a spa as it is so spacious. The villas itself are very huge and provide a lot of privacy. In general you feel very private at TUGU and can spend the day without seeing lots of people. The wedding day itself was stunning and words cannot express what a great day it has been for us. Even in our dreams we could not have expected such a great setting, service and atmosphere. The day started with a relaxed, easy going photo shooting by a team of eight photo and video grapher from D Graphity. The team was doing a amazing job above what we ordered and paid them for. We have received great photos and an even better video. A huge thank you for that once again! After lunch, the make up and hair of the bride got done and also here the external hair and make up artist did an excellent job. After getting ready further photos got taken and then the ceremony took place at 5:00p.m, at the beach. The walkway for the bride was full of Frangipiani flowers. The dinner was chosen by as in form of a private lobster BBQ on the beach with hundreds of candles surrounding our table and a bonfire next to us. The food was great as well. All in all - Everything worked out perfectly and we could not have thought of a more relaxed and better way to start our future together! We spontanously decided to extend our stay for additional two nights and did a full day private snorkeling trip to the Gilis with the dragon boat instead of staying there. The snorkeling trip can be also definitely recommended! We are looking forward to come back in future!"

Glenburn Tea Estate: "bliss"

Review by: leedsey | Source: Trip Advisor
We arrived at this beautiful place after a bumpy but breathtaking 6 hour drive from sikkim. . Faye, Will and Alex were there on the door step to greet us and we instantly felt like one of the family. The other guests were great fun..... mostly..... and it was really lovely to sit around the group table for dinner and listen to everyones travel stories. The food was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful staff. I have a fabulous massage in the little spa and the therapist eased away my aches and pains. Gin and tonics on the terrace overlooking the mountains and it really felt like a scene from Indian Summers. The rooms are gorgeous and after a week of homestays etc the beds were Bliss! There is a lot to do there and the staff are great at organising anything tailormade to suit your requirements. We went on to stay at the Tollygunge in Kolkata that they recommend and that was great in a completely different way. I could not recommend this wonderful hotel highly enough. i felt totally spoilt and loathe to leave Thanks again to Faye and the team for all their help. Room Tip: the one with the spanish wood four poster bed!

misool: "An incredible marine experience!"

Review by: Kathy M | Source: tripadvison.com
"Andrew and Marit have accomplished the almost-impossible by building this remote, luxurious resort on an island in Raja Ampat, mostly from driftwood, and without a fresh-water source. It is a dive resort, but we are snorkelers, and were extremely well taken care of by Andrew, Marit, Mark, Sue, Calvin, two wonderful men both named Ali in the restaurant, and also young ""Soo press"", and the lovely masseuses Banne and Reeshna at the spa. We were assigned a private boat driven by the excellent Sam Saul and a private guide, ""Son"" (for Nelson), who took us on very many enlightening snorkelling excursions near the island. We even swam with 3 manta rays at ""Magic Mountain""! We were in paradise! The conservation philosophy of this resort is commendable and inspiring, and we were left with a feeling of hopefulness for the future of this marine habitat. Well done, Andrew and Marit, and staff! David’s Kitchen: "Superb! Chiang Mai’s Superior Restaurant"

Review by: Hawaii-Ina | Source: Trip Advisor
"Living in Chiang Mai for part of the year, I'd heard about David's. All positive remarks, but really did not understand how truly exceptional this restaurant is. A friend took me to David's for a belated birthday dinner. I was in heaven! The setting and ambience was elegant yet very comfortable. The service impeccable! I suggest their simple field greens salad and then go for the gusto...snails, duck, pork Asian style. And! My favorite desert is Creme Brule ....it was fantastic. Yes, it is more expensive than most restaurants in CM....but we are talking 5 stars here. In my estimation nothing compares to David's ...in Chiang Mai. The Very Best! Make sure you book a day or do in advance."
