MesaStila: "Number 1, 2 and 3 on my list"
"Breathtaking. Wonderful room with wonderful views. Great staff. Wonderful dinner and breakfast. Not too many guests, which we did not mind. Mother and sister went for a couple of treatments at the spa and were impressed. Brother and I had a 06.30 trailrun with our guide Augus, probably the best morning of our holiday!"Muang La Lodge: "A piece of heaven in the middle of nowhere"
"After a rough first week of travelling and very cold weather, we were thrilled to spend a couple of nights here. Gorgeous room, with HEATERS and hot water bottles, tastefully decorated, lovely bathrooms, with home grown bathsalts. The setting is delightful, on the river, and the infinity pool on its own island was a good place to unwind with a book when the sun comes out. All the little hidey holes have access to drinks and snacks and service is never far away. The spa itself, with the two huge hot spring-fed pools are elevated so you have a view of the surrounding countryside and are a panacea for weary limbs, and the massage sets you up for the next part of the journey! The five course dinner is light and carefully crafted, full of flavour, and the cocktails inventive and yummy. Little braziers kept us warm while we ate, and a large boma-type fireplace was comforting for an aperitif. We had a long walk on our free day round the local Khamu village, and enjoyed seeing village life at a slow pace, the pace it is lived. Excursions can be arranged to nearby hill tribes, but we didn't know about that. Even though the local staff dont speak much English it is good to see the management trying to give back other local community by providing jobs and an enhanced local spa for the village. I can't rate this place highly enough "Satri House: "A gem of Laos"
My wife picked this hotel. I was very impressed with this choice. It was unbelievably comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Since we stayed more than a week here, we changed room twice to get different feel. Money was well spent.Discover Muang La | Visit Laos | Luxury & Boutique Hotel: "Good food, clean, comfortable and tranquil"
Spa water fills the hot water tubs, in which you can relax before supper. The setting is by a stunning river, with farmers working the fields. The food was of a high standard. The rooms large and comfortable. Ours had a veranda overlooking the spa pools by the river in which the local villagers come to bathe. Very polite and attentive staff. It is worth doing the day trip to see the local hill villages. They have few western visitors and are fascinating and friendly.Tugu Lombok: "Paradise"
"This was our second visit to Tugu and it will not be the last, a really quirky set of rooms and villas are really interesting and well laid out. Pools are fantastic and the beautiful white sand beach is just wonderful. Hotel restaurants are wonderful and food is both well presented and extremely tasty with a fantastic local focus on the menu. Spa is very good with the local massage being our personal favourite, very good value. Our only gripe about this hotel is that there is no ATM machine available so I was unable to tip the wonderful staff what they actually deserved instead of what I had in my wallet, as always the welcome you get in any hotel is reliant on the team that are there to look after you and as previously the team at Tugu shone. Thank you for another wonderful stay and we will see you again soon. Mark + Myra"Tugu Bali: "Amazing Hotel with the kindest Staff ever!"
"I have always been passionate about learning and embracing the local culture whenever I travel and Hotel Tugu brought me the perfect balance between Western commodity and Indonesian Traditions The staff was genuine and friendly and they made sure all our stay was special and unique. From the setup for the breakfast on the outside area to the afternoon tea on the raised bed in the garden area it was all perfectly planned and executed. On our second night we had the pleasure to enjoy dinner while watching a Traditional Balinese dance performance. It was interesting to see such performance while enjoying some delicious traditional food in the majestic entrance hall. They also have a delicious Japanese restaurant next door with an amazing decoration and an original Chinese temple surrounding the tables area that was impressive. The Hotel is walking distance to the beach where we walked to see the sunset and see the surfers catching some waves while enjoying our Balinese coffee. Our room was on the upper floor with a beautiful view over the ocean and the most comfortable king size bed I have ever slept in. The room was completely filled with vintage and local items and a traditional bath tube for a late evening bath after exploring Canggu area. The swimming pool made the perfect spot for my girlfriend to read a book and sunbath. On our last night it happened to be my birthday and the hotel staff surprised me over dinner with a delicious birthday cake. If that’s not the ultimate definition of a perfect hotel, I don’t know what could be. Will be returning again on my next trip to Bali and recommending to my friends back home."Maison Polanka: "Even better than advertised"
"To have seen the gorgeous pictures on their website and read the lovely descriptions, one might say “not possible”, but somehow, Maison Polanka manages to exceed one’s expectations --greatly! Our group stayed in the Khmer House and Green Room. Both are spacious and full of character, with an impeccable and sophisticated mix of contemporary and traditional decorations. But rest assured that here style does not come at the expense of guests’ comfort: Extremely comfortable beds; powerful and responsive AC; inviting bathrooms with walk-in showers; indulgent bed and bath linens and amenities; everything spotlessly clean; etc. (...) Service was extraordinarily attentive. At Maison Polanka, our needs and wants were not simply met, they were anticipated. A few examples of the innumerable gestures of hospitality and warmth extended to our group by Cathy and every one of the staff at Maison Polanka : Throughout our four-day stay (amidst the steamy and broiling heat of September ...), every single time we came back to the hotel, no sooner did we walk through the gate when we would be met with chilled towels and a smile; our group was eternally grateful for the abundant supply of chilled towels (with menthol) and bottled water that Maison Polanka so thoughtfully sent with our touring van; knowing our tight schedules, Cathy and Harold worked tirelessly and thoughtfully (and even with last-minute revisions) to be sure that our tours and shopping excursions met our interests; Cathy knew our flight details better than we, and she and Harold were the ones who kept checking with our airline for the most accurate updates while we shamefully lounged around; the yogurt at breakfast was so good, I offered a taste to a friend; within minutes, yogurt magically appeared on her tray. By the way, there is a great deal of talents in the kitchen at Maison Polanka where the preparations reflected a preference for refined nuances and where the presentation was visually stunning : We fell in love with Cambodian cuisine here (...) To the owners of Maison Polanka and to everyone of their amazing staff: thank you for creating for your guests this haven in Siem Reap!"Rachamankha: "Fantastic Stay"
This is a "late" review, as I lost the name until I found it in my old luggage. We stayed there three nights starting 01/20/2013-01/23/2013, and it was nearly the single most pleasant place we stayed in a three month trip around Thailand and Laos. All rooms face a beautiful central courtyard, and the staff and management are top-notch. The only downside is that the neighborhood outside the walls is a bit rugged, but we had no problems. Highly recommended...don't believe the Dec 2015 stay date...I had to put something....The Hue House: "Customer"
First time when i come to the hue House , at first i has left deep impression is the espace with Huế imperial palace 's style , either the space outside , the service is enthusiasm , agile. Specially is the foods, they are delicous . There r too many kinds of great food so i couldn't try it all in 1 time . Honestly thats great. And for sure i will come back again to try another Hue foods very soonSukoon Houseboat: "serene"
the staff is very courteous. the location of the houseboat is great as you get the best view with not many houseboats around. the food is excellent. the housekeeping is at its best. i could let me 10month old baby crawl around. the mattress in the suite was uncomfortable at the edges. one could easily fall down. the wood work and furniture is beautiful and well maintained. they dont serve bottles water and only serve RO water which to me was a problem.
