Jing’s Residence: "Amazing stay"
Amazing stay in a beautiful hotel, furnished with a delicate taste, managed by a dedicated and welcoming staff. A place we do recommend to everyone willing to retire from buzzling china and yet still experience china…Supanniga Eating Room: "Tasty Thai Treat"
"Went to Supanniga as within walking distance of our hotel. Nice ambience and super friendly staff. Really nice that they asked us how spicy we wanted the food and they got it spot on for us - we like spice but not Thai hot! We shared pu jah crab - minced pork and crab meat and pla som Tod - fishcakes. Both were lovely, really liked the fact that the fishcakes had texture to them, not spongy. Both dishes were really flavoursome. For main courses, we shared two crab dishes, pricey compared with the rest of the menu - plenty of cheaper options available. Both dishes were lovely, great to share - one with a spicy coconut style curry sauce and the second dish with yellow peppers. We shared some noodles too. No room for dessert - plenty of food. If I had to grumble then the main courses arrived a bit too quick for us but no big deal. We both agreed it was one of the best Thai meals we'd had - not cheap but high quality food served by a really nice bunch of staff. Would return again."Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Memorable stay"
We stayed in room no. 1 just above the room that Angelina Jolie used to stay during her movie production this year. The room is spacious, comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed the salt water pool but has not enough time to try the massage by the scenic lotus pond. Very helpful and friendly staff. Overall service and experience is beyond expectation.Rahai’i Pangun: "Pure and Natural – Katingan River – Sebangau National Park"
This was an exciting destination - the Sebangau Nat Park, Kalimantan. I was part of a group exploring the Katingan River area for the first time ever, with WOW Borneo, who is the first commercial tourist boat operator allowed to venture commercially on this river. Hail to WOW Borneo for being such pioneers. What explorers we were! This was a unique trip into nature. The boat cruise will now be on the regular WOW schedule. It's a an adventurous cultural trip - you simply must go. Setting camera traps for the clouded leopards in the Sebangau National park with the park ranger was the highlight for me, treking at night in the forest was a first for me, sleeping in homestays in the traditional Dayak villages - wonderful, discovering the black water lakes- beautiful, having the hornbills swooping across the wide Katingan River was a delight indeed and sleeping in forest cabins by special permission - well, that was very special. I have so much to say about this trip. We traversed the smaller rivers by canoe which allowed us to get really close to wildlife and we saw orangutans and proboscis monkeys in their natural setting. Scrumptious lunches were served on board every day, and the cooks produced the most exquisite dishes. The food is a big plus on a WOW Borneo trip. I have been on 5 trips now. What I loved about this NEW Katingan River Sebangau National Park trip is the combination of meeting local families and sleeping in villages, which allows you the chance to talk with local Dayak people. Added to this you have the comfort and luxury of the boat every day. A magical trip into a magical part of Indonesia. Should you go? Yes, most definitely. What you come back with is memories of a truly peaceful place, with silence and beauty that is untouched and not commercialized. Our side trip to the Borneo Orangutan facility BOS, was a great bonus, as we got to hear about orangutans from the experts. In all my travels of Indonesia, for me, this was the most significant trip ever - from a standpoint of solitude, natural beauty and a new discovery into protected lands.muang la: "What a wonderful oasis"
"Visited very briefly during an extended planned trip and had to be dragged away otherwise we would have quite happily stayed for a lot longer!! Staff couldn't have been more attentive or friendly and every little detail had been thought through thoroughly to make you feel special. Thoroughly recommended"Chakrabongse Villas & Residences: "Hospitality and Location"
Exceptional location and warm hospitality. Our family of four booked one of the river suites and one of the garden rooms for 4 days over Christmas. First off, the property is a gem in the heart of the historic area. It makes it very easy to walk to many of the top sites, take the ferry, see the flower and medicine markets and more. Secondly, both Atom and Ohm and their warmth made the stay exceptional. They provided so much historical and local knowledge that was pure gold. Thirdly, the owner, the third generation from one of the last kings, was in town, and she kindly sent around champagne for Christmas. A nice touch. And finally, the river view for dinner and breakfast was lovely. This is a true oasis in the heart of Bangkok. Skip the soulless hotel and experience a Thai boutique villa. Thank you again, Atom and Ohm!Tugu Bali: "Beautiful hotel. Great service"
We spent 2 nights at the hotel for our honeymoon at the incredible Puri Le Mayeur suite...which was essentially a single-story house that has its foundation lying over a pretty lotus pond. The suite itself was huge (probably much more than the 2 of us needed)--but we made the most of it! The staff provided top-notch service from beginning to end, from welcome drinks to breakfast in our rooms. We also received a 15-20 minute "welcome massage" at the spa, and frequented the private plunge pool in our room! The hotel itself also has a very nice pool. The hotel provides ocean-views from many of its rooms (the view from the Puri suite was a partial, but still breathtaking), as well as from the common areas. There is a bar at the hotel itself, as well as many restaurants. Regarding the food, the breakfast we ordered to our rooms (Indonesian breakfast) was so delicious that we ordered it again! We also did the "dinner in bed" for our Christmas honeymoon night! The dinner took place on the hotel's lawn, which overlooks the ocean and provides an unparalleled view of the sunset all while being served drinks, food, and dessert. Overall it was a relaxing stay and the perfect place for a romantic getaway.Mie Cafe: "Wonderful discovery for Khmer fusion food"
We have been living in Cambodia for 20 months now and have tried a lot on the evolving Top Ten restaurant must-try. Now here is one quiet, unassuming restaurant off the tourist spots in Siem Reap that we found to be REALLY, REALLY GOOD. Chef Pola is Khmer and very creative with local cuisine plus his talent and training abroad makes it world class gourmet. What can I say.. I even tried the red ants and eggs on the menu and liked the entire dish. Just give the tuktuk driver the address and he can bring you there.Mie Cafe: "A lovely experience"
"We chose this restaurant for its proximity to the Beatocello concert at the children's hospital. (Saturday nights - an extraordinary event put on by Dr Beat Richner in support of the children's hospital which he founded.) The restaurant is stylishly cool and modern, with a little fish pond running alongside the outside patios (into which my fork unfortunately dived.) The food is delicious, and the chef came out to talk to the guests about his plans to develop the restaurant. a very enjoyable evening."Villa Mathis: "Nice boutique hotel"
"Nice boutique hotel close to the buzzling seminyak and not far from the peaceful Canggu. Spent 3 night here and we really enjoyed it. The hotel is made of 4 different villa with 4 to 5 rooms in each. Each villas has a different style so it is very interesting to walk around. The management: fred and vivi welcome you like a friend and you feel comfortable at once. Would definately recommend it and actually have already plan to visit it again ;)"
