Flower Island: "Our favourite place in the Philippines"

Review by: Travelforages | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is the perfect place for people like us - wanting to get slightly off the beaten path but with creature comforts such as good water pressure, comfy bed, good food...and most importantly, a beautiful beach with some of the best snorkelling right off the beach we have seen. (...) The snorkelling was incredible - such a beautiful, healthy reef with tons of fish. We were honestly snorkelling 3-4 times a day and it was always different. I am torn as I sort of don't want to tell too many people about this gem of a place but also want to share the experience as this is what we were looking for in the Philippines. Without a doubt the highlight of our trip in terms of places we stayed and we will absolutely go back. Thanks to all the lovely staff as well who made our stay so enjoyable."

Misool: "Paradise found!"

Review by: warmsandlover | Source: Trip Advisor
"There really aren’t adequate words to describe our experience at MER. I have been fortunate to visit many gorgeous beach destinations worldwide but nothing can come close to Misool Eco Resort. Not only is it visually stunning but the entire experience is unsurpassed. The staff is warm, kind and attentive...nothing is too much trouble. The diving is the best in the world of course and what the founders and staff have created is an inspiration. Special thanks to Sue and Mark for creating such a wonderful experience for us and to Sabine my ‘scuba therapist’ and new friend. Being a nervous diver despite experience she went above and beyond to teach me, support me and help me grow tremendously in my diving skills. Our ‘once in a lifetime’ will definitely be repeated....we just left and miss it already. Lisa and John Mitchell"

Inle Princess Resort: "Gem of the lake"

Review by: Michael C | Source: Trip Advisor
"We just returned from a four night stay at the Inle Princess Resort. What a treat! This resort, which sits on the northeast corner of Inle Lake, is locally designed, owned and run. And it shows, from the local crafts that are made on site to the quiet efficiency and welcome of the staff. We arrived via Heho airport by road (about 60-90 minutes and ~$50 US). The road entrance is modest, giving no clue of what lies behind the low key security gate. The grounds are spectacularly but sympathetically landscaped, with stands of bamboo framing lotus filled lagoons. The rooms are absolutely unique in design. You might want to avoid the Mountain rooms only because they are a bit smaller with less spectacular views. Any of the other rooms will exceed your expectations. The dining is lakeside, serving a mix of excellent local and Thai style fare and goreng. The views from the restaurant patio are tranquil, with boats approaching the jetty required to row (almost always Inle leg oar style) with engines off. The pool is otherworldly. We spent a good deal of our time exploring the lake. One of the lessons we learned was that the locally sourced goods in the crafts shop at the Inle Princess are not only superior quality but are priced very fairly. I am lucky to travel widely. The spa is the finest with the kindest and most skillful (Shan) therapists I have encountered. The setting alone will draw you out of your highly strung world. A couple of words of caution to high maintenance travelers. The hot water can run out quickly, so shower efficiently (many rooms have private outdoor showers). And service (e.g. by the pool) can be slower than you will find at Four Seasons. They just don't rush. The food and drinks are wonderful. So relax and enjoy. There is simply nowhere remotely like the Inle Princess. If you are looking for a slice of Myanmarese heaven on earth, this is it. If you are looking for chain resort style service, stay somewhere else."

Rachamankha: "Wonderful location, beautiful architecture"

Review by: Banditsmom707 | Source: Trip Advisor
"The beautiful antiques and elegant architecture makes this hotel a stand out. Located centrally within the walled city, it is easy walking distance to many Wats. The dining room is lovely. The food was excellent (be sure to have the Burmese Tea Salad). The pool was lovely and the landscaping equally lovely. We had great, friendly service. I would go back. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

"Tugu was such a unique experience! I loved eating breakfast overlooking the ocean each morning as well as being steps from the beach! The room was nice and the service was excellent! I really love the coconut milk lattes in the morning! So good!! Tugu's service is 5 star! Even the driver has fresh fruit for you and water as you commute to the hotel. Way to go Tugu!"

Manukan Island Resort: "Dive & Stay Package"

Review by: West Virgineth B | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed at this resort as part of our Scuba Diving + Stay package. We really love the island and also our Villa! Our villa is on the second floor with a nice beach view. Room is spacious with complete amenities. We don't mind the weak internet connection as we connected with nature more! We also love the local foods offered in their restaurants. As for their staff, they are accommodating and prompt on addressing our requests.

Manukan Island Resort: "Heaven in earth in Manukan Island"

Review by: Julio L | Source: Trip Advisor
A short boat ride from KK is Manukan Island. This small island with turquoise waters and white sandy beaches has this gem Sutera Sanctuary Lodges. We stayed in an awesome Hillside Villa just above their private beach. The villa was stunningly beautiful and comfy, you will feel like home. The décor itself makes you not want to leave the island ever! Pure luxury! Right below the villa is the beautiful beach where you can spend hours snorkeling and discovering the reef. The island is small and it has a sunset point where you can go and admire a beautiful sunset over the ocean. At night you can enjoy amazing food at their awesome restaurant with live music! Sutera Sanctuary lodges is Heaven on earth.

Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Must visit"

Review by: Travelmun | Source: Trip Advisor
"The moment you step into the place, you know you are in for a treat and then the food starts coming and it taste like heaven. All the dishes were explained nicely by the waiters and the quantity for the six course was just right. They even did a vegetarian menu for my wife and as per her, it was the best vegetarian meal she ever had. Ps: do try their cocktails."

MesaStila: "Best Start to 2017"

Review by: heatherwyn | Source: Trip Advisor
"MesaStila really IS a wonderful place to stay in. My husband and I came for a short 2 nights 3 days break on the Escapism package and it was just heavenly. We live in Jakarta and coming here for a break from the city was just magical. A quick flight to Semarang from the new terminal 3 and we were met by the MesaStila car and driver at the airport. We were soon at the Resort and what a change from what we had left in in Jakarta. The air is clean, the scenery beautiful (constantly changing landscape on the days we were there with blue sky and white clouds, sometimes early mist, a brief lightning storm) and the grounds of the resort are so peaceful. We felt close to nature and yet pampered by the staff and the facilities. The Spa treatments were the best we have ever had and the attention to detail to the decor and the therapy rooms ensures a thoroughly relaxing experience. We stayed in room 204 which was a quaint villa. Styled perfectly, with a fourposter bed, plenty of seating options, a verandah to relax outside with a book, stained glass windows, old fashioned bathroom yet all the modern needs you would expect in a hotel room. We ate all our meals at MesaStila and the selection is amazing. The food was fresh, presented beautifully and so tasty. The quality was 5 star! We even managed to squeeze in a sunrise tour to Borobudur arranged by the staff. There is a long list of options of tours you can take which the reception staff will arrange for you. Thank you to the staff and management for ensuring we had a great mini vacation. We will be planning a return trip before the end of the year. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"

Supanniga Eating Room: "Supanniga Evening Champagne Cruise"

Review by: Katri80 | Source: Trip Advisor
We had a chance to try out the new Supanniga sunset cruise with my sister and her fiancee who were visiting us. Compared to many of the other river cruises, the experience was much more intimate with a small boat that was not in the least crowded for the 1-hour sunset cruise on a Sunday. Very comfortable and nice scenery, and the glass of champagne offered was very good! The sunset cruise includes no food beyond a few nibbles (think peanuts and dried shrimp), but the service was great and the menu for the later dinner cruise looked very appetising as well. Recommended for a special event or a less touristy cruise option for visitors!
