Samanea Beach Resort: "a hidden jewel"
An excellent place for quiet relaxing, a small place with much personal charm. Very nice and helpful staff, excellent food, very nice premises and very good installations. The only drawback is the lack of a proper beach.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Great Service!"
"This is an awesome place to go. Can't fault it at all. Definitely do the waterfall excursion as well for some more natural beauty. But besides all of that, I just wanted to say what amazing service the staff delivered. The resort manager is a man called Adonis, and he really did go above and beyond. I ended up dropping some red wine on my beige trousers during dinner and I was leaving the next day. I didn't have the time or the right washing materials to get the stain out. Adonis said he was doing his personal washing that evening and very kindly offered to wash my trousers for me too. He used some stain remover, some other washing stuff, gave it a good hand scrub, and even managed to get them completely dry for me to take back the next morning (stain free). This was not part of any laundry service and he personally did this as a favour...thank you Adonis! Really great service all round. An awesome experience and would highly recommend staying here."Tugu Malang: "I’ve never seen a place like this before.."
"I have never seen a hotel like this before. This place is literally a museum, the owner collects antiques from around the world (but mostly Javanese and Cina peranakan), makes the hotel breathes art deco, bohemian, middle east, Javanese, oriental, and Dutch colonial style. It's amazing they have so many collections like chairs from Soekarno's house, 2000+ year old Chinese sculpture, and many ancient Chinaware. Also worth to mentioned: Mata Hari's dancing portrait and a mysterious picture from the black and white Lolita movie. The service is excellent, the staff call me by name and never cease to amaze me by their warm hospitality. The tea time from 4-6 pm is worth to try. They provide Indonesian snacks with selections of tea and coffee. The front office staff are really really nice, they are very helpful and seems like all the staff enjoy what they're doing so the hospitality comes from the heart. Tips: *During the tea time, sit on the balcony to have a better view of the hundred years old giant tree at the hotel facade. *If you stay in the hotel, ask for a hotel tour. Mbak Poppy gave me a tour and she explained thoroughly and patiently about historical background in every item I asked. She also showed me the stunning Apsara suite. Unfortunately the Raden Saleh one was occupied on that day. Thank you, Mbak Poppy! Fun fact: All Indonesia's past and current presidents have been to this hotel."Chakrabongse Villas: "Service and charm in a beautiful oasis!"
We are a family of 4 adults and we stayed at Chakrabongse Villas for 5 nights and fell in love with the beauty and charm of this wonderful residence. We usually stay at one of the top 5* hotels in Bangkok but are so thrilled to have found this gem. It was fully booked while we were there and, while there are only 6 or so rooms, we never saw another guest the whole time. From waking up in the early morning to walk around the palace walls or giving alms with the lovely Ms Atom to dipping in the pool to cool down after a long day of exploring, we felt so at home and taken care of at the beautiful villas. The breakfasts on the river were a wonderful start to the day and our dinner was an experience in Thai cuisine that we will never forget. I have seldom stayed at any hotel where I have felt that the staff genuinely care for their guests in the way that we experienced at Chakrabongse. Thank you Ms Atom for making our stay and experience to remember, we can't wait to see you again!Tugu Lombok: "Simply the best three nights of our life"
Without a doubt, the Hotel Tugu in Lombok was the best hotel experience we have ever had, second to none (and I've travelled a lot). The most exceptional grounds, most amazing rooms, outstanding service, beautiful beach, highly attentive staff, and second-to-none food. I would strongly, strongly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an out-of-this-world travel experience. Special thanks to Evi for her special help for this trip, and to Hotel Manager Henri for his care. Actually, every staff member was exceptional and worthy of special mention if only I could remember all of their names.Jing’s Residence: "Luxury hotel in the middle of an ancient walled city"
"Stayed here for two night during our tour of China. Unexpectedly luxurious hotel in the middle of Pingyao - also very expensive particularly when compared to any other hotel in Pingyao. Having said the above the service was faultless and the hotel was clean and comfortable - which considering the coal dust in the air must have taken some doing. Breakfasts were OK but the evening meals were very good indeed."Sandat Glamping Tents: "Excellent experience"
Excellent experience. Different from the typical hotel. Small and cozy. The hotel manager is on top of things. Total recommended place. Also take the morning to walk through the rice fields just outside the place. The Governor’s House: "memorable stay"
Soon as we arrived with our friends from a exhausted flight, the GM take care of us. She invited us on their mini sunset cruise to chilled with some drinks and tapas on the Mekong river. Wonderful. The next day a dinner with a traditional music and apsara dancer organized in the garden surprised our group. The rooms are wonderful decorated with all original antiques and luxery amenities. We decided to short our Siem Reap stay to stay one more night in this feeling home mansion before our flight back. We loved our stay and the very helpful staff. Try the food...tugu lombok: "Magical place"
"I remember we arrived at Tugu around 9pm. While checking in two families arrived. They were on the same flight we were from Singapore. Looking all around I exclaimed ""What a beautiful place!""... And the guy next to me replied ""It's a magical place!"" That's what Tugu is. A magical place. It's not a luxury place, it may not be the best hotel you've ever been! But it may very well be an experience you will never forget. We enjoyed the Villa, the different places where we had dinners, the beach, the excursion to the Gili islands and overall we enjoyed the people. Thank you for let us fell so well!
