Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Simply wonderful"

"Wonderful place highly recommend it . We spent New Year's Eve here and it was fantastic . Inle Heritage has only 6 rooms which makes it very cosy and exclusive . The whole structure is built on stilts on the southern side of the lake. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom is made in traditional style with good space for clothing . Every room stands alone with great privacy and a terrace with sunbeds overlooking the lake . So peaceful and truly special . Inle Heritage is not just a guest house is also the training grounds for 48 local students which attend hospitality classes on site everyday , however you wouldn't even realise that if not told as they are organically blending with the place daily activities. By staying here you contribute to their tuition fees as 60 % is reinvested in the community and different programs that run onsite . One other beautiful touch is the vegetable gardens that are grown onsite and everything you eat is freshly picked from there daily . Inle Heritage also runs a reintegration program of the Burmese cats, as they were apparently disappearing from their original land . There is a section , like a small island , that completely dedicated to the cats . I find it quite cute , but I am a cat lover , otherwise could come across a little random if you would ask my boyfriend instead:))) On site there is a shop which sells most products you will find around on your artisan village visits , I think quality here was better and even cheaper than in the small artisan shops . Few notes on the place : dress warm as in the morning and evenings gets very chilly ( December / January i was there ) Take into account around 20$ for each transfer from and to the hotel as is surrounded by water so you need to take a boat ( which is a nice experience on its own) to get anywhere Highly recommend the sunset on the lake The staff is magnificent and the level of service was comparable to European standards , food also fantastic they even catered for me being a vegetarian adapting all menus; the warmth and attentiveness of the people here do make it a truly unforgettable experience . Neeleshwar Hermitage: "“Relax and revive – the perfect place.”"

"We arrived in the dark after a tiring ten-hour car drive from Kochi and I thought I heard thunder. In fact it was the Arabian Sea pounding the extensive beach and in the morning we could see this magical place. A healthy breakfast on the beach and we were ready to relax. Many have given full positive descriptions so I don’t need to repeat those and the web site is accurate. Instead I will highlight just a few things that impressed me. I now have to watch my diet carefully and the wholemeal breads, fresh fruits, variety of fish are perfect. The menu includes various juices and I went for spinach but asked for some ginger too; I bet that will be on the list next time. All the food is superb, healthy and interesting. The aerial sketch on the website does not do it justice; there are many palm trees and the gardens are quite beautiful, spacious and well maintained. Contrary to some other comments I would recommend a sea view cottage without hesitation. There are only 18 cottages and they are carefully arranged; the peace is almost tangible. In fact the whole place has been designed by a skilful hand with great attention to detail and that includes the cottage interiors. Anyone who reads my reviews will know that I look at issues that might be relevant to those with mobility problems. There are a few steps to each cottage but the pathways should be OK. Internally the doors have very strong springs and help would be needed. For those with weak knees or limited use of limbs may find the bathroom a bit difficult. As a retired architect I know how it grates to put in grab handles. I hope the owners will consider seriously putting one close to the WC and another in the wonderful non-slip shower area. These things are important for those in need but I must emphasise that standard of design is very high. I wanted a full Ayurvedic body massage and had three; all were excellent. All that others have said about the atmosphere, management, welcoming and helpful staff etc. I endorse. No one could want for anything more. My wife and I seriously considered extending our week-long stay which is a testament in itself. Room Tip: Sea view cottage but all seemed very good."

Satri House: "Like home: in a prince’s former residence!"

"Staff is just wonderful, always going ""the extra mile"", if, for example, you appreciate an extension of your booked room to take a nap until it's time to leave for the airport. Food, both lunch and dinner, is most delicious. Rooms are spacious, quiet, all with wifi. Pools and lots of lovely areas to relax...Library and fireplace: perfect setting for a glass of wine,- or two... All in all: I wish them every success! They deserve it!"

TIGER MOUNTAIN POKHARA LODGE: "Amazing place"

"Tiger mountain lodge is amazingly relaxing, an oasis of beauty and organisation and fantastic food in the midst of a fabulously beautiful environment. The chef is splendid, the walks wonderful and the people and enthusiasm for the locale and the villages something to behold. There is a surprising amount to do and you are also on the verge of the Annapurna range and its extraordinary trail. "

Villa Song Saigon: "Luxurious Hotel and Great Chef"

"I've started to miss Villa Song very much. We normally have a weekend there to escape from busy noisy down town, and get relaxing after heavy working days. It was pity that our last asking to stay there on the weekend of 12-13 August was unsuccessful, because ""our"" room 203 was occupied. It made me miss the sunset over the balcony to the river, dinners prepared by Chef Kevin with lots of creative tastes and caring. I really enjoy the room with the big bath room served with nice bathtub, and separate shower, and really comfortable bed under nice temperature. Last of not least, I can tell the foods made by Chef Kevin are the best in town. We can feel his heart on the dishes, his caring for the wine pairing. Kevin and the staff always make us the most warm welcome ambiance. We really feel like home there."

Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Luxury Eco villa"

"We spent 4 nights here in February 2016 , staying in Bougainvillea Baan and absolutely loved it . The house was almost on the beach with well designed open decking areas , comfortable chairs for lounging in , outdoor shower , mosquito nets , dining area etc , plus a great collection of books and magazines to browse. It had a kitchen and dining table which went unused as we ate at the restaurant each evening . The food, service , and cocktails were excellent ; fresh and delicious every time . The club house and bar were great areas for sitting drinking and watching the sunsets and Happy Hour an absoloute must at 6 pm . The staff were always courteous , helpful and unfailingly polite. Loved the shop too , with a range of authentic and beautifully curated range of clothes , jewellery , glasses , textiles etc : we didn't bother going to the markets as everything we wanted to buy was here... And more ! A truly beautiful and magical place , made so by the people who work , run and manage it , and a special mention for Pena ! Very much intend to return"

Supanniga Eating Room: "Great food with a unique dish"

Ate with a group of work colleagues and was Super impressed. There is deep fried catfish which comes out like popcorn. To die for. Also all the usual great Thai dishes. Well worth it for great local food

The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Deserves it’s great reputation"

"Lovely decor, lovely building, excellent staff, convenient quiet location, great breakfasts. Don't use Mr Noi Monyoopanow as your limousine driver. He chain talked to a variety of women using several phones for the whole trip to Hua Hin, often driving fast one handed. Front office and all staff were extremely helpful, and fantastic. Great breakfast. In retrospect we should have had dinner here, rather than a very underwhelming expensive meal at Nahm (which I wouldn't recommend - see separate review). Would suggest that each room have it's own iron and ironing board, although this was quickly provided. We also asked that our room be sprayed against mosquitoes after we left in the evening, although we had no problem with mosquitoes, just noticed loosely fitting balcony doors. Pool area was nothing special, but adequate, and we certainly enjoyed a quick dip in the pool at the end a day out, before getting ready for dinner. Would highly recommend, and we hope to stay again when next in BKK."

Rachamankha: "Well design secret hotel"

Very good place to relaxing. Nice swimming pool, kindness staff, and well design environment. Full of ancient boutiques furniture in the hotel. A nice place to make you feel peaceful. Superior room is small/simple. Although the electronic device in the room is old, I will still recommend this hotel, because of it's really beautiful.

Chakrabongse Villas: "Just one word: unforgetable"

In your next trip to bangkok, don't look no further. It's a small paradise in the middle of this crazy tomorrow. An amazing view to the river with a friendly staff. Just a recommendation: if you would like to have a wonderful dinner by the river you need to book in advance.
