Muang La Resort: "A little paradise in Laos"

Review by: Eileen T | Source: tripadvisor.com
"Staying at the Muang La Resort is a pleasure, from the moment you arrive till the moment you leave. The bungalows are well kept, clean and beautifully decorated. Little details like welcoming letters, weather information and slippers make you feel a welcome guest. Dinner is a surprise and never disappointing! Lao haute cuisine!! But what really makes the difference is the staff of the resort and I mean the whole staff! From gardeners to managers, everybody is attentive, helpfull and kind. If you plan a trip to the north of Laos, this is definitely a hotel to include in your plans."

Locavore: "A must in Ubud"

Amazing detail to local dishes. We would recommend to anyone travelling to Ubud. Both meat and vege options were incredible. Also great value for money.

Chakrabongse Villas: "Unique in Bangkok, unique anywhere"

Review by: MichaelHFreeman | Source: Trip Advisor
I've been coming here since Narisa Chakrabongse opened her riverside palace to guests, and there is nothing at all comparable in Bangkok — an Italianate palace built as a retreat from court life by a Thai Prince. Opposite is Wat Arun, a short stroll is Wat Po. The staff, the service, the food wonderful.

Bassac Cruises: "Delightful, personal trip down Mekong"

Review by: Sallie M | Source: Trip Advisor
"The boat (Bassac II) was just fabulous. We travelled at Tet, so the activities were slightly different than usual, but Tuch (spelling?) did a fantastic job. The village walk was surprisingly fun - the kids (we travelled with an 8 and 6 year old) loved it - and even ate the fruit at the end - a miracle! The rooms are so sweet. The food was lovely, and plentiful! The staff were all nice -but special shout out to Tuch. Engaged and entertaining, and knowledgeable. The boat has beautiful detail. The pace on the boat is very relaxed. We absolutely loved it. I recommend for people who enjoy relaxed, informal, but engaged service; good honest food; small groups; and who are interested in seeing some of the Mekong."

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Dinner at the Blue Mansion- Wonderful"

Review by: Mansourhe | Source: Trip Advisor
"The menu and service was superb! The place is quiet and full of character. My father had difficult to manage the stairs to get up to the restaurant, so the managers arranged for us to have dinner downstairs. we were served hand and foot by our incredibily humber and eager to serve waiter Imran, who was both polite, discrete. I don't recall the last time we had such wonderful service, Imran was great! My father who is very high maintenance, even complimented Imran and said, its wonderful to be served by someone who understands the etiquette of the table. When we were leaving, we shocked by Imrans humility when after running up and down the stairs all evening and attending to our every need, said ""please forgive me if I made any mistake serving you tonight! Fine dining and fine service with an excellent menu and a place full of character! Stayed December 2016, traveled with family"

Blackitch Artisan Kitchen: "Thai Degustation"

Review by: NQPsych2U | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stumbled across this diamond in the rough after dodging a restaurant with a sick (coughing/sneezing) waitress and another with no fan or a/c working. After dodging these first world problems we wandered past the nightlife at the surrounding bars and noticed Blackitch. Artisan kitchens can be rather hit and miss but this location is quaint coupled with enticing reviews welcomed us in. Obviously we didn't reserve a spot prior to dining and after a brief discussion with the kitchen hands the sous chef encouraged us to dine. We were unsure what to expect with no menu or information about the experience other than a drinks list. The house made plum wine was superb over ice and my partner enjoyed the root beer (sarsparilla for those playing in Aus). We were delighted from the first dish of the degustation through to the dessert. The chef showed pride and pleasure with our dining experience adding to the evening. Yes the price is significantly more than what you may pay elsewhere however the quality and personalised service for both of us including drinks for circa 4,500BHT is reasonable in comparison to other degustation dinings. Our favourite dish was the duck blood sausage followed by the banana fritter dessert. Unfortunately the only pic I managed was that of an empty bowl as I devoured the bouquet of flavours shortly after each serving. Recommended for a couples night of fine dining."

Jing’s Residence: "Wonderful, feel like at home"

Review by: Elo-Tom59 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stay 3 nights in the hotel, in a courtyard room (the romantic one) and everything was wonderfull. Rooms are so beautiful, well-equiped, clean and very quiet ! All the staff speak english and can easily help you. The breakfast is so big, with chinese meal and also european meal (try their pancakes !!!). The restaurant is amazing like all the plates. The chief is very good and you can practice with him during a cooking class ! We really appreaciate our stay and will be happy to come back again in Jing's Residence !"

Sanak Retreat Bali: "One of the most beautiful places I have stayed in"

Review by: Rachel G | Source: Trip Advisor
"We chose to come to this area of Bali with our adult children hoping for some quiet and beautiful scenery- and that is exactly what we got. This beautiful resort offers exactly this in the way the resort has been designed among a backdrop of rice paddies and mountains. This place is absolutely stunning. I loved the way the doors opened out on all sides to let the breeze in. It is best to have a villa with a balcony to capture the views- both sunrise and sunset. The service was great from all staff. The meals were good. Pool wonderful. Highly recommend for adults...young children i feel could spoil the serenity for others."

Pindaya Farm House: "Beautiful, peaceful and serene"

Review by: juliapf2017 | Source: Trip Advisor
My husband and his parents stayed at Pindaya Farmhouse this week - while the price is higher than other places in the area, it’s well worth it if you are hoping for a peaceful and serene getaway with delicious and healthy food. It’s a family run business and by the end of our stay we felt like part of the family! Food is delicious and fresh and most of it comes directly from their garden. Meat dishes fresh from the market. The setting of the place is beautiful ; removed but not too far from Pindaya. The place looks like a boutique hotel BnB and nicely designed. We also did a really great trekking tour N and H and did a cooking class. Would highly recommend

Muang La Lodge: "Unbelievable Paradise"

Review by: haroldsnedcof | Source: Trip Advisor
"Kindness and grace characterize the resort located in what must be as close to paradise in a rural setting as one can get. Thanks to the excellence of the entire resort staff, the location and design of the bungalows, the food and service, you are transported to a new level of appreciation of life. Rui, Raphael, dun and the entire staff are there to insure that your visit is as near perfection as is possible. WE visited The Resort for three nights in February when it was quite cool. No problem as blanket and charcoal fire pots were there to warm us at meals. The trip to local tribal villages showed us a part of Laos that is fast changing. The scenery on the drive was amazing. One day we walked through rice paddies and to a local temple. This is an experience never to be forgotten. You will not find a better place to get a real sense of rural Laos at a resort that combines authenticity and service. It is not only worth the cost but provides an experince for the soul that no amount of money can buy. "
