The Island Lodge: "A quaint oasis in the Mekong Delta"
We booked to stay at The Island Lodge for 4 nights in May 2016. After travelling through Vietnam from Hanoi and the North, and steadily heading south, we spent a couple of days in Saigon before going to the Mekong. Michel kindly arranged transfers for us from Saigon well before we left for our trip, and all went to plan. We drove down but you can get there by boat as well. It was just the perfect relax-a vous place after the hectic touring of cities. Our room overlooking the pool was excellent, and the staff were lovely, and tree so hard to please us, even though their English was not perfect- however much more perfect than our Vietnamese! It's a charming small resort, and we went on a personal tour with Michel on bikes along some amazing tracks we'd never find on our own, for around 3 hours, on the Ferry and through little villages with everyone saying hello along the way. It was a really unique and bespoke tour and Michel was the perfect host along the way. Food was great and we couldn't have been better looked after. If you are into small hotels which are well run, but offer something deferent to the big internationals, you'll love this place. It only has 12 rooms, so that'll give you an idea of how boutique it is.MATHIS RETREAT: "Best place in Ubud"
"My wife and I stayed at the Kenanga for our honeymoon in Ubud. The place has a unique charm, and is very relaxing. The rice fields in front of the infinity pool and the restaurant are breath taking. The staff is so friendly and always smiling. They made sure that we were satisfied From the moment we arrived until we left. We would highly recommend this place to anyone going to Ubud. "Bassac Cruises: "A great experience"
Very vell organised trip on a relatively modern, but traditional boat. Excellent small cabins and super food (if too much). Village and floating market excursions very good. Great staff and the ever efficient guide 'An' organises you with military precision.Tugu Lombok: "It’s like heaven on earth"
"The room is delightful, the service is excellent, the atmosphere is like heaven, and the view is stunning.. We really enjoyed the visit, we stayed in Bhagavad Gita Room with personal pool and spacious bed. All over the hotel has beautiful antique furniture, sculpture, paintings, etc. That makes the hotel very unique and exquisite. The food is quite expensive for local tourists but reasonable for those who come from stronger currencies. We plan to come back for longer stay :)"Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Le must sur le lac"
"I stayed with my wife and son for a couple of nights on one of the floating tents recently. Our hosts had arranged an extra bed for our son and a lovely bouquet of flowers for my wife's birthday. The 4 Rivers team really enjoy making your stay as comfortable and unique as they can. Swimming in the river straight from your lodge makes you feel like you're in the middle of a jungle. Do get up early and listen to the dawn chorus. The trip to the fishing village and collecting clams in a mangrove swamp is great. There are bugs around at night but they are dealt with. The management did everything they could to make arrangements when our plans changed at short notice. A big thank you to the whole team for making our stay so memorable. "Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Best place in Nepal to relax and enjoy the scenery and environment"
What kept me going on the tough 14-day trek up to Lo Mantang in Upper Mustang was the promise of relaxing and recovering in the peace and quiet of TM's Pokhara Lodge. My four days up at the hilltop lodge, with its chirruping birds and fluttering butterflies, fabulous views of icing sugar mountains in the mornings and twinkling lights at night, were wonderfully restoring. This was my third visit and, as ever, the staff were so caring and the comfort and cleanliness, delicious meals and drinks were just as I had remembered. And I really enjoyed the good company of Marcus and the other guests. Thank you to you all for looking after me and for making me feel very special on my birthday. Staying at your lodge sums up everything I love about Nepal.Tandjung Sari: "Wonderful old style Bali hotel"
We loved our week at the Tandjung Sari - barefoot luxury - that we didn't leave the hotel all week - except for a quick shop up the road at Biasa. And we're going back. Beautiful craftworks, hand made pavers and pool tiles, fresco style painted outdoor pavilion.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Cultural Hotel"
"Very much enjoyed this hotel/museum. The staff were attentive and informative . The free bikes a great idea . Well located. The female receptionist (song?) was extremely helpful with tips of where to go and advice . Review collected in partnership with this hotel "Mathis Retreat: "Best place in Ubud"
