"Villa Song has everything you need as a base for your visit to Saigon. Stunning setting on the river,a fast shuttle by boat into the centre, lovely pool to relax by after a day's sisgtseeing. The food was delicious and the staff very helpful. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Incredible Experience, not to be missed"
I loved my time visiting the Inle Heritage House during my stay in Inle Lake. Passionate and talented people doing fantastic work. I enjoyed the cat sanctuary, the architecture and design of the space, the garden and sustainability efforts, and the opportunities for cooking classes... all of this while supporting the local community and hospitality education program. I would recommend a visit to anyone who will be traveling to Myanmar. Please support and enjoy this fantastic organization.Mrauk U Princess Resort: "Huge comfortable rooms and beautiful grouunds"
"The Mrauk U Princess Resort is the best hotel in Mrauk U and a lovely place to return home to after a day of climbing temples and pagodas. The road from the gate to the reception is probably the best road in all of Mrauk U at the present time. Returning from my day out I was always great with a welcoming cold wash cloth to help cool me off and remove the dust of the day. Check in as simple, the usual passport registration dance and your leaf shaped key is in you hand in mere minutes. My room (house) was 205. A walk past the resort’s lake, surrounded with greenery and flowers. My bungalow was an easy stroll from reception and the restaurant and bar. The room was absolutely beautiful and huge. So huge in fact that it sported two (2) A/C units which kept the room very comfortable. This room has two net covered twin beds, I don’t know if double or king sized were available. The bed was comfortable with two pillows and sparkling white sheets. A small writing desk off to the side of the bed and an accessible electrical outlet, for recharging a computer or cell phone. The other side of the room had a nice soft chair and a day bed. Coffee/Tea area. Snap cap bottles of water (they must be filtered water, since I drank from them several times and no ill effects with my sensitive Western tummy). In room safe of course. A plate of welcome fresh fruit was on the table. The bathroom was clean with a large tub, sunk, shower and toilet. Soaps, shampoos and towels in abundance. The water was always hot and plentiful. The toilet was in it’s own little room that I found a little claustrophobic. The restaurant and bar were all up to Western standards, and prices. The menu has any type of food you could desire from local dishes, to Asian dishes and a Western selection that I’d recognize anyplace. The staff could not be more helpful. Look up and someone was there in a flash. Ask for something and it appears. Request something special and it might take a minute or two, but it will happen if possible. All in all, I loved my stay at the Mrauk U Princess Resort, and if get a chance to visit Mrauk U again, I’ll be staying here again."The Village House: "Relaxing and Beautiful, Great Food and Friendly Staff"
Our experience at Village House was excellent. The guesthouse has been carefully planned and attention paid to every detail. It is very beautiful and comfortable. The food here was way above expectations - delicious and fresh and a great mix of local as well as western food. Surprisingly they had a very good selection of wines. We did try the Pina Colodas by Miss Flora (we had read about them on Trip Advisor) and yes, she does a great job! But the highlight of the trip was the sweet and accomodating staff. They did everything possible to make our stay as relaxing and stress free as possible. My family and I would like to thank them all. You should not miss the chance to stay at Village House!Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A space for nature"
"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge manages to knit together the very best in comfort, service and food, whilst making space for nature. A difficult feat to achieve, but one that I and my mother very much appreciated. There is no forced planting of exotic, introduced flowers and tightly strimmed grass, which seems to have become the standard everywhere around the world in boutique hotels and lodges. Instead, the focus is on allowing the smaller but essential things in life to flourish, such as butterflies and solitary bees, without the average guest even knowing these wonderful insects are there. Marcus and his team recognise the importance and value of these pollinators (we would have no coffee or chocolate if it was not for insects pollinating the flowers of these plant species!) and have cleverly crafted and created an environment that allows space for all. This is an ideal place for birding, but even better if you are interested in Lepidoptera. The team's knowledge and enthusiasm is nothing short of incredible, and I am truly in awe that so much time and effort is invested in compiling inventories of what they have found there. It is clear that this is not just a passing interest, or an attempt at green-wash to enhance visitor numbers, but a genuine desire to accurately record the diversity of the lodge. Many congratulations to you all. You have achieved the trickiest of things by providing first class accommodation, food and service without compromising the location. I'm very much looking forward to my next visit. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"MesaStila: "Relaxing getaway"
Beautiful place just like the photos. The rooms are nice, clean, in the middle of nature. There are a lot of activities to do in house from coffee plantation tour to yoga in the morning. The staffs are nice and made the experience exceptional, especially our coffee tour guide. What can be improved is perhaps food; it is not that it sucks but rather for such a nice resort we expected more. Wine by the glass at the restaurant wasn't great either and overall wine prices / corkage price are high. However I think the overall experience is great. Very relaxing. Would come back.Reverie Siam: "Wonderful Boutique Hotel"
"Stayed here for 4 nights, second floor mountain view. two swimming pools beautiful gardens wonderful FnB... the 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai was magical... like arriving in Shangri La They had two wonderful musicians playing in the lounge when we had our evening cocktails. Such attention to detail in the design. Somebody has paid an awful lot of attention to this resort, I only wish I could have met the manager to thank him in person. No exaggeration to say one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast was fantastic, the cappuccino cinnamon toast was the best in the world. Cannot recommend highly enough Top Tip... grab a beer and head down to the gazebo by the river with your book and just chill out! Don't rely on Google Maps to get you here... it directs to through town to the other side of the river... the hotel is 1km down the street next to the police station"Inle Princess Resort: "My kind of paradise"
This resort is everything and more of what you could possibly expect for a great holiday. Contrary to most other lake resort on Inle, it is very quiet and feels very private. Rooms were amazing and staff was very friendly and helpful. Great Spa in a nice setting is a plus as well.CABOCHON: "Cute and quiet hideaway in Bangkok"
"Super friendly and helpful staff, a gorgeous old style building creaking with history in a peaceful soi just off sukhumvit, the Cabochon gives you all you need for a stay in this hectic city. From its handy location near to the BTS to its deserted rooftop pool this hotel delivers. Breakfast is good (although personally I always like to see some Bircher muesli on offer!). We slept wonderfully here, it's quiet and the beds are comfortable. "Dewakan: "Exquisite"
"The 10 course dinner menu is well-crafted and each course successfully tickled different areas of our taste buds. The meal starts with 4 complimentary snacks, followed by 3 appetizers, 4 main courses, 3 desserts & ends with Malaysian-flavored ice pops. These are served over a 3-hour period, which is good timing for me personally - lots of time for good, long conversations! Love the fact that each course is infused with Malaysian flavors, bringing these local ingredients to another level. The restaurant atmosphere was quiet and service was impressive - they were quick to response to our needs. However, there are limited tables and they only entertain reservations made online (check out their website). This restaurant is located in KDU College, Glenmarie - may be quite a distance from KL but convenient for patrons from Shah Alam & Subang Jaya. Overall, we had an enjoyable evening. It was definitely a great fine dining experience."
