Tugu Lombok: "Beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach"

Review by: aurascudders | Source: tripadvisor.com
We stayed four nights in a Bhaghavat Gita suite which we would certainly recommend. The suite has its own garden with a large plunge pool and then you're straight onto the wonderful white sand Sire beach. The suite also has a private front garden which includes the semi-outdoor bathroom. Our daughters stayed in a kampong bungalow directly beind our villa which was perfectly adequate and a lot cheaper! You can eat on the beach or in various other places around the site - we chose the roof of the Temple-like spa. Best to book these in advance - there is no where else to eat unless you drive for about 30 mins into Sengigi - we didn't bother as the food was good and varied, with both local and international dishes (mainly Italian). The restaurant is open-sided and overlooks the pool, which was never crowded (don't think all the rooms were full when we were there). We took the dragon boat trip to snorkel at the Gili Isles which was good fun, and we saw a turtle.

Chakrabongse Villas: "Wonderful stay!"

Review by: jo c | Source: Trip Advisor
We loved this place! It was gorgeous and calm, and the managers are extremely friendly and professional. We enjoyed falling asleep to the soothing sounds of the river right outside our door, and loved the excellent location right next to the grand palace and wat Arun. I'd love to come back at some point in the future. Highly recommend!

Mie Cafe: "Perfect Dinner"

Review by: Dawneen | Source: Trip Advisor
"You know how sometimes an evening just clicks and it is perfect, that was our dinner here. Hard to believe as there was a big puddle out front that required some interesting maneuvers to get across and shortly after being sat down the power went out. They do have a generator that they started up so power was back on in no time. We did try many of their dishes and all were wonderful. It was romantic, great service, but slow enough to enjoy a full evening with out the feel that they wanted to fill your table again. Make reservations as we saw at least 4 couples turned away as the tables were filled."

Satri House: "A treasure"

Review by: JACL770 | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed at the Satri House for 4 nights. It is a former royal residence and one can experience the elegance of the former time. The hotel was recently renovated while in keeping with this charm. Our room was large and well-appointed - the rooms spread out among the beautiful grounds. The overall atmosphere is calming with a lovely dining area and reception rooms . The staff are very helpful and courteous. They genuinely want to be sure that you enjoy your stay.

The Apsara Rive Droite: "Highly recommend"

Review by: ozkrisc | Source: Trip Advisor
Our family of 4 stayed here for 5 nights in total, 2 and 3 nights on either side of a tour. We loved this hotel. Mr Hann was exceedingly helpful and all the staff were really friendly. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel during our tour. We had very efficient airport transfers. We felt like we were staying in our own private house, it was very peaceful. The pool is a great size. We liked the location on the other side of the river. The little boat is always at the ready to transfer across, which adds to the charm of the hotel. Our room was a great size, with a large balcony overlooking the river. It has all amenities including bath robes and mosquito repellant. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order. We used the hotel bikes a couple of times which was a great way to see the town. I got up early to see the monks seeking alms and was the only tourist watching (from a respectful distance!) as they passed by the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Neuer Stern am Himmel von Yangon"

Review by: Juergen L | Source: Trip Advisor

Review by: domi77bu | Source: Trip Advisor
"Arrived for 4 days in Luang Prabang we stayed 3 nights at Satri House. This hotel in the colonial charm only deserves compliments. A very original architecture with large rooms decorated former local objects. You feel more in a big mansion than in a traditional hotel. Our room was spacious, very clean, wooden floors and a large balcony. Very quiet, a nice staff and very caring. The breakfast (Western or Lao) was plentiful and very fresh. 2 swimming pools (a bit small) but with a large green space surrounded by large tropical trees to relax. You can borrow bikes for walking and / or go into town. Would recommend without reservation! "

Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Lovely"

Review by: stephan j | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is our second visit to Golden Buddha, the first was 4 years. I would say that many things have improved since then, First and foremost, the new manager, Massi, is truly wonderful - what a change! The restaurant have been rebuilt and now looks more smart, a new shop has been added and a pizza bar near the beach has been built. The staff is extremely friendly and smiley - many thanks to Nin, who works at the restaurant - she is a gem. The massages, we had one every day for 11 days are great too. We loved the food, but I think guests would welcome a slightly wider selection of dishes. The villas are truly well kept and very comfortable - I would recommend staying in a beachfront one and away from the restaurant. You also may want to check how close your particular cottage is to the neighbouring one. the island, with its long, deserted beaches is unique. the fact that there are truly just 3 resorts, of which Golden Buddha is the smartest, remains a big plus to us. There are a couple of things we were not too keen on. I should say that we decided to return to Golden Buddha to relax, enjoy the peace and quietness and pick up yoga again. Since our last visit the resort seems to have become popular with families with young children. Whilst some kids were well behaved, others where not and it made dinner and breakfast at the clubhouse less enjoyable that it might have been. The biggest disappointment were the yoga classes. Alex, the so called teaches ranted at each lesson about, what he called, new age yoga. Basically everything but the pure original yoga. He therefore stated that he was tracking Indian gymnastic instead. What was most annoying was his lack of interest and the fact that he did not want to correct people, hence, in my view, did not teach at all. Lastly, prices for food and massages were a tini bit high I thought and I would recommend that the resort buys lounge chairs for all its guests. In any case, I would still highly recommend Golden Buddha,. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

Jing’s Residence: "Home away form Home but nicer"

Review by: Lucy A | Source: Trip Advisor
"I spent a weekend here in this historical town. This accommodation is great value for the comfort and luxury it offers. It has a homely Chinese feel that is comfortable but not austere or hostile as the life around it appears. The bullet train from Beijing was interesting. Everything is in close walking proximity in this town. I recommend arranging a pickup from the train station arranged through the hotel. It began the weekend calmly and smoothly (not always the way in China) Iman is a delightful staff member who leads a friendly team of hotel staff and the owner was a genuine delight and low key. They tend and anticipate to all your needs. It was truly impressive and not something you always receive in China. The simple afternoon teas served upstairs in the cozy area with art, books and calligraphy on a freezing cold day was welcome. The room and bed was warm and comfortable (not always the case in China) and a delightful gift added was a treat. Honestly you could stay here and not leave to see anything else. There was a great sense of history in the architecture as well as the food. We were taken to see some really interesting historical buildings, an opportunity you would not get in the mainstream. There are activities offered and they were lovely. We did noodle and dumpling making. The shopping and souvenirs were much cheaper here than in other places so worth purchasing. They love to barter so do your best to get a great deal! In this part of China this accommodation offers a genuine great time away without the corporate schmoozing. Families are catered quite well here without disturbing others."
