Satri House: "Une merveille"
"This hotel is a pure gem! The hotel building and rooms are extremely beautiful and very well decorated. The staff is charming and extremely professional. We've also had the opportunity to try the restaurant which serves delicious Lao dishes. In brief, everything was just perfect! We would definitely recommend Satri House."Yandabo Home: "A special place"
"Having enjoyed our river cruise from Bagan, we were whisked by a small boat to arrive at Yandabo Home and a warm greeting from the staff group. A real achievement to create this boutique hotel here, off the beaten track. Simple bedroom with a high quality bathroom and products and food well presented. Friendly staff took us to visit the local villages with tea and biscuits on the way on the boat back a nice touch. Thanks to all the team. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Pindaya Farm House: "Relaxation!"
Withing easy reach of the Pindaya shrine, this modern farmhouse in a traditional style is a place of calm relaxation, surrounded by pretty countryside, and lovely views from the house. Really nice welcome, excellent food, great room. Loved watching the sunset, and the morning (we tried doing watercolours). Bicycle rides provided.Les Maisons d’Itac: "Surprising quality"
We took our staff for a company outing to this property over 3 nights. We are surprised with the quality of the villas, cabanas and pools and the amazing service that was provided. They are really lovely people and Bryan manages the place very well. We had no complaints and nothing went wrong,We purchased our foods and they cooked for us. Its a very quiet and peaceful location which is hard to find in Philippines. The only downsides are the long trip to get there which is about 3 hours and the lack of a beach to swim. On the plus side there are interesting activities around the place like kawasan falls and oslob whale watch, Ideal for people needing such a holiday or company affairs.Labyrinth: "Inventive Menu by Chef / Owner L G Han"
"If you are looking for a dining experience to really remember then the one Michelin Star, Labyrinth Restaurant is for you. We enjoyed the ten (10) course, very inventive, degustation menu with matching wines. This was not a 'cheap meal out' alternative but what an experience. The sensational flavours Chef Han has 'developed / created' and presents beautifully onto your plate are to die for and create much discussion if you are lucky enough to be sharing this experience (and I mean a 'real experience') with someone. Each course is described by the excellent staff, who are attentive, but not overly so, which is good for a dining experience. We were lucky enough to get to talk to Chef / Owner Han (apparently an Investment Banker ?? in a previous life), who is a very dedicated and focused Chef and ever so willing to talk about his passion for food, presentation, attention to detail and how and why he set out to create the 'truly innovative' fair he offers at Labyrinth. If you're in Singapore, love food and wine and like to challenge your taste buds with something very different, then Labyrinth will certainly meet your every expectation."Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Exceptional!"
The team at Inle Heritage made my arrival in Myanmar so smooth and welcoming. The team patiently and wonderfully indulged me with all my cultural questions that I bombarded them with. Transfers were super easy and the tour of the lake was nicely curated. I am notoriously picky and there are two hotels that I have been mentioning in the same breath since my return; The Puli in Shanghai and Inle Heritage. Service was exceptional, very detailed and thoughtful. The icing on the cake is that the 6 bungalows and traditional Inthar restaurant are funding the cat + fish breeding, eco farming practices, and scholarships for 40 driven hospitality students each year. Like others have said this is not luxury and there are a little few missteps now and then from the students but it doesn't matter as it is all so personal, detailed and welcoming. From the moment of my booking Ms. Thant Zin Aye, the GM, was helpful and generous over email and in person when I arrived. Ms. Nang Khin May and Ms. Chaw Su Thet Htar were so sweet welcoming. Mr. Htun A Tint is a natural in this hospitality game and will go far! I have recommended this hotel to everyone and I would be there in a heartbeat on my next trip to Myanmar.Manda De Laos: "Must eat"
Must eat fine dining restaurant! Great service and setting ambiance. Make a reservation. Cocktails were great!Mrauk U Princess Resort: "one of the best hotels in Myanmar"
It is a bit tricky to get to the hotel but I really advise you to go by boat instead of the land route from Sittwe . You will disembark just in front of the hotel. The hotel has only bungalows . Nice garden with green lawns and ponds with flowers. The bunglow has huge bedroom and nice bathroom. The kitchen has excellent food. The service is fantastic and very helpful. I can really recommend this place in order to investigate all the pagodas around it.Bali Jiwa Villa: "Irresistible view over an oasis of nature…"
"For those who know what it means, there are some places in this world which cannot be described with words or pictures. Bali Jiwa Villa is one of them. When we first arrive the driver had to go through some retreat villages shortly after Ubud to finally rush into a luxurious jungle over an horizon of rice fields. At the end of a small path cutting directly through the piece of jungle, Bali Jiwa Villa entrance appeared like an oasis in the desert. The door opened and a charming Balinese woman welcome us with a heartful smile. She escort us to the Villa which was perfectly arranged and neat, she left and came back with a welcome drink and a refreshing towel. (...) Going around is quite easy. We personally recommend to rent a motorbike (just ask the staff) as driving is quite relax in this area. (...)Several local dining options are available around this area as well. Renting a car with a private driver is another option. To pampered yourself, Balinese Massage and Yoga Class are two delightful options, and for those feeling a little more sportive, cycling and rafting are two other possibilities. This place is a MUST in a lifetime, and a WOW!"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "The Last of a Dying Breed"
"They don't make hotels like this anymore. Which is a pity, because a stay at Tiger Mountain is about so much more than just 'physical' luxury. It's enriching - visually, intellectually and emotionally. First things first - it's a fantastic property, perched high up on a mountain overlooking the Pokhara Valley with fantastic views of the Annapurna range. This is eco-luxury at its finest : great views, great service, great food but with minimal environmental impact. The rooms are nice, in a spartan sort of way (no TV, no WiFi, no aircon - not that you need it) with four poster beds, charmingly rustic furniture and a private, sit out balcony. The food is fantastic - among the best you will ever have, whether it's traditional Nepali fare or the more Western dishes that are traditionally served at dinner. But many hotels have great views, great rooms and great food. Tiger Mountain's secret weapon are it's guests and the fact that dinner is a communal meal where all the guests get together over 4 courses and copious amongst of alcohol. Over the course of 3 nights we met a couple who had driven a Land Rover from London to South Africa and who were currently doing relief work in Nepal, a Scotsman who spent a year living in a campervan with him family and his dog, and an ex military attache who also oversaw the recruitment of Gurkhas for the British Army. Simply put, these are things money can't buy. And that's to say nothing of Marcus, the Managing Director of the place who makes it a point to have a drink with every one of his guests and who has a number of remarkable insights and anecdotes about Nepal, India, England and everything in between to share. If you're looking for a traditional luxury hotel with every modern comfort, this property probably isn't for you. But if you're looking for old world charm, delightful dinnertime conversations and a view that just doesn't quit, Tiger Lodge has your number. It may be a bit pricey, but it's Worth Every Penny."
