The Island Lodge: "Nice oasis to relax on the Mekong"
"Great choice for a quiet week-end in the Mekong delta, a mere 2-hour drive from HCMC. Transfer organised by hotel with excellent driver and comfortable car. Well-trained staff, good service and nice restaurant. Thank ctlinh"Amata Lanna: "Amazing"
It's like stepping into a hidden oasis. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is withing a few minute walk of the night market amd many restaurants. Every recommendation they provided was perfect. They will be on my list of places to visit again. Thank you for making our honeymoon stay such a memorable experience.Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Beautiful experience, relaxing stay"
"I think Neeleshwar Hermitage is a wonderful place. The atmosphere is magic, is quiet and relaxing. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom has an open courtyard inside, it's really an authentic idea! There is an infinity pool and the beach. The food was great and we find an excellent staff, also in the restaurant the waiters were really lively, friendly and really good-mannered! So we really enjoy the Tim there, unfortunately we stayed there only one night. But I hope to come back soon. Highly recommended."Slow Villas and Spa: "Super Romantic Private Oasis"
"I am an architect and have very unique houses of our own that we rent, so I am extremely particular when it comes to staying elsewhere. We decided to escape Ubud for Gili Air for Jaime's birthday. Wow! We had a perfect romantic birthday getaway and honestly had a super hard time leaving our beautiful villa at Slow. Slow is carefully designed, with attention paid to all the small details that matter to a designer like me. It is comfy and extremely romantic and private. We felt like we were in our own private oasis. The staff was wonderful and prepared a birthday song for Jaime in 3 different Indonesian Languages. So sweet! We had a lovely massage at their stunning spa. The breakfast was yummy and a feast for the eyes and I love their handmade dishes. I have a sense of what other accommodations are available on Gili and I would never consider staying anywhere else. Huge praise for SLOW! Room Tip: I think all the rooms are equally beautiful! Rooms are prettier than in the photo>"CABOCHON: "Lovely small hotel"
"Old colonial style boutique hotel with friendly staff. Quiet location on side street. Lovely rooms with interesting furniture and artefacts. Small pool on roof. Lovely smell of burning candles throughout. Cute little restaurant if you don't feel like walking out. Good Thai food plus western options available. Breakfast was good too. Good wifi connection. "Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Keeping it a Secret"
"Rak Ko Jae is absolutely beautiful, it breathes serenity, it's something that comes with time. It is also well situated in Bukchon Village, literally walking distance or a short subway ride to many attractions. We were there for 4 nights and were able to stay in all 3 suites. Each one of them is special in its own way. My favourite was definitely the Patio Room even though it's the smallest out of the three. Some might find the rooms a little more worn out than the photos shown but this is precisely why we found them charming. We didn't have a chance to have dinner there but the traditional breakfasts were so delicious we were set up for the day. The dry sauna was relaxing after a full day of tour. What we also enjoyed the most was the nice balance of hospitality and privacy. We are definitely coming back next year! Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys traditional Korean architecture and history, Rak Ko Jae is a small oasis in the middle of bustling Seoul. Stayed January 2017, traveled with family"Glenburn Tea Estate: "Incredible"
"This place is in a time warp and is wonderful. As the other reviews say the drive from Bagdora is long and the last half hour is down a very bumpy unmade road, but for us this made it more exciting. When you reach the house you received the best welcome and are made to feel at home immediately. Our room was extremely comfortable and had everything you could want, including loads of hot water and thankfully no television. You all eat together in the evening which is akin to a lively dinner party, especially as we met some interesting people and had a great laugh. Breakfasts were equally as good with an Indian breakfasts of the day. We visited the tea factory and learnt how it is processed before sampling a variety of delicious infusions. We also went and watched the ladies picking tea and had a go ourselves. One of the best bits was waking on our first morning to see the mighty Himalayas as clear as a bell only 50 miles away, as the crow flies. I would highly recommend Glenburn for a completely fantastic experience"Glenburn Tea Estate: "Superb location, lovely property but terrible access"
"This is not your usual hotel experience. This is different - not in Darjeeling but about 45min drive from Darjeeling, boutique hotel in a tea garden estate, handful of rooms with mostly foreigners as guests, different cuisine and a unique experience. It is not cheap though but if you want different experience then you need to come here. The only problem is access road that leads you to here. Final stretch of 30min is simply horrible as road is unpaved and full of uneven ride. Your vehicle will not be able to go beyond 10-15kmph. No wonder, all Glenburn package include two way transportation in their own vehicle. You have an option to spend a night in log cabin down the hill next to river Rangit. Fully equipped log cabin offers all basic comforts with hospitality from Glenburn that includes welcome drink, tea/coffee snacks, campfire & barbeque dinner all done by their team for you to relax and enjoy. Next day morning you can hike and go to village Majhitar and come back. River Rangit divides West Bengal and Sikkim. The hike from Glenburn to loghouse and to Majhitar (which is Sikkim) can be about 12kms but it's a fun walk fully escorted by their team. The only negative point is wifi internet access is weak and unsteady. This needs to be addressed by Genburn team though. We welcomed that rooms do not have even TV but communication via social media is a necessity today."MesaStila: "A great retreat"
It was our second stay at Mesa Stila and we were totally happy and look forward to going there again. The beautiful wood carvings and traditional furniture in the villa, the great service combined with lovely dishes and extremely well trained staff made our stay very unique. The Apsara Rive Droite: "Excellent boutique hotel"
"Excellent choice for a quiet, rural experience. Nice garden with a good swimming pool. Large well designed rooms in rustic Lao-colonial way and with a large balcony/terrace. Service is great and personal. Breakfast is with fresh fruits, coffee, fresh juice, wonderful warm breads and croissants, and a choice of different eggs. Transport to the other side is quite easy. Free boat service for drop-off and pick-up thar worked flawlessly during our week. There is a bamboo-bridge a few hundred meters away (5000 Kip / 0.65 USD). You have to scale/climb a few flight of stairs that are a bit rickety. Free bicycles to cross on a small bridge a bit further away. Tuktuk to town is 50 KKip / 6 USD. Watch the monks alms ceremony by the temple a few hundred meters to the right from the reception ar 6:15 am. Almost no tourists, so respect this holy cermony with minimal intrusion. Take the road to the left where you reach a temple with a wonderful view over the river. Only problem we had was the WiFi, but we got a separate modem that worked really well."Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
