4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Relaxing and very different experience than usual hotel/resort!"

Review by: Indira | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed here for three nights and had a brilliant experience. I was a bit concerned I would get bored with nothing much to do as I knew it wasn’t possible to go off trekking into the country. However, there were a number of trips at no extra charge. We went on the boat to visit a local village one day and saw how the school operated and the challenges facing the villagers. We were welcomed into the village by the people, cows who strolled down to see us, together with the dogs and chickens! On our way back we were able to kayak down the mangroves and see another aspect of the area and also challenge ourselves ... kayaking is OK if you know how to do it well although we managed not to kayak completely into the mangroves! It was good fun and the guides follow closely to help out. In the evening we took a short trip down to see the fireflies which were amazing but also it was beautiful to see all the stars in the sky which can be a rare sight when you live in a busy UK town. The other trip we took was to the waterfall which was great. It’s trickey to go across the rocks but the guide was really helpful showing us the way and supporting us. You could swim in the water there and it was really warm and a great experience. On each trip we had lunch prepared for us and we could eat it on the boat. Meals were exceptionally good and breakfast was great as you had a number of choices which were brought to you .. so much nicer than wandering around a buffet breakfast. Staff generally were brilliant and all were exceptionally supportive and if they didn’t know the answer to a query would find out the answer for us. Finally, the tent itself. It was so unusual but comfortable and had everything you needed. It didn’t have wi fi etc but that’s not exactly the ‘end of the world’ ... we were there for a different experience and that’s what we got. The bed was really comfortable and it was great when the tent gently rocked sometimes. We would definitely visit again and I could thoroughly recommend it."

Maduzi Hotel: "Splendid experience"

Review by: 89kimiek | Source: Trip Advisor
"I thought that it was really good with a choice of this hotel. This hotel is not big at all, but the room is large, and the size of Bet is too big to sleep alone. And it is the hospitality to be glad above all. A splendid smile of the hotel staff met the calm entrance when I entered. I will stay at this hotel again. Stayed March 2017, traveled solo"

Bali Jiwa Villa: "Bali’s best kept secret"

Review by: Nigel S | Source: tripadvisor.com
"Bali Jiwa Villa, located in the Ubud district is a hidden gem. Situated in the small village of Desa Kelusa on the outskirts of Ubud, it is set among beautiful rice fields in total privacy. It is a little hard to find, however this is what makes it an unique getaway for a couple looking for a romantic retreat or just a place far away from the usual crowds. There are two separate villas that are mirror images of each other, both with the same wonderful view, yet both completely separate and private. The room is colorful and tastefully decorated with one huge bed in the middle and comfy seats all around. The bathroom is large and modern and very well appointed. Each villa has it’s own pool that sits overlooking the rice paddies, but still offers privacy as it sits up above the rice fields. You can see people working in the fields sometimes, which gives you an unique feeling of being part of the village life that goes by each day. Bali Jiwa Villa has to be one of Ubud’s best kept secrets for those people who want to discover somewhere quite unique and special and I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to experience the true Balinese countryside. Nigel."

Rachamankha: "Best stay in Chiang Mai"

Review by: liezl799 | Source: Trip Advisor
"This was one of the most peaceful hotels that I have ever stayed in, it feels like a retreat where the soul is nourished away from the everyday hustle and bustle. The architecture, gardens and decor are amazing. In the morning someone comes to cut the grass with a pair of garden scissors instead of a lawnmower so the peace is just never disturbed. We had lovely meals in the restaurant and enjoyed every send of our visit and we will visit Thailand again for the third time just to stay in this hotel again."

Tugu Lombok: "Seriously Stunning"

Review by: DianeDowntown | Source: Trip Advisor
Truly. If you love architecture and antiques, this place is for you. Around every corner is something beautiful or interesting. We stayed in one of the pool villas and it was gorgeous. The only slight negative was the tiling in the pool could use refurbishment as we were getting a bit of rust coming off them while swimming. The beach is incredible. Clear blue and calm. Perfect for snorkeling.Take the resort's boat to the Gilli Islands. You will not be disappointed. Hearing the call to prayer coming from the many different mosques in the area was unreal. Hearing several muezzin's singing (if that's the right word?) you to early morning prayers is my idea of heaven. Food in the restaurant was great. The resort is so large that we didn't know about the second bar/restaurant until our second night there. There was only one tiny thing that went wrong but I think it needs to be addressed. I came down with some sort of a nasty upper respiratory infection. A doctor was called in and I was given antibiotics. Only problem was, they were the completely wrong drugs. Turns out I had a double ear infection. Had the doctor diagnosed me properly my trip home wouldn't have been so uncomfortable. That being said, I knew something was wrong and on our way to the airport our driver took me to a hospital where I was given heavy duty decongestants that probably saved my ear drums. Huge kudos to him and the lovely doctors and nurses for getting me in and out of there so quickly! Even with this problem it was pretty much a perfect resort experience. We will be back!

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Exceptional as ever"

Review by: patrickm123 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Our third visit and this time for a full week, which didn't seem a minute too long. The hotel certainly deserves all the many awards that it gathers. The formula is very well tuned to demanding Western tastes but there is always a willingness to tweak that formula to make everything totally perfect for individual quirks and preferences. Sasi the food and beverage manager is a modest, unassuming man but he runs one of the slickest operations of this kind in any part of the world.. He exudes genuine care about his guests and that attitude filters down through his team. (Particular thanks to Melbin, Sharoon, Libin and Kiran.) The food is outstanding from breakfast through lunch to dinner. The beach is almost deserted, the pool delightful (although a little more zeal in tidying up the vacated sunbeds would be welcome - that's about the only fault I can find!). Some good low-key outings are possible to fish markets, Theyyam festivals etc to enliven the general chill-out experience Stayed January 2017, traveled with friends"

Sanak Retreat Bali: "Paradise"

Review by: Vincent C | Source: Trip Advisor
We spent (only) one night in this paradise. Everything is just perfect, and worth the price they ask for it. Compared to other hotel we stayed in, we were particularly impressed by the attention they put un every single detail (closing your curtains in the room while you are having dinner for instance :-)). We would recommend it.

Tugu Bali: "Entrancing trip back in time seductive and excellent"

Review by: shasha b | Source: Trip Advisor
"A quick drive apres arriving at Denpasar we bear down on this enclave with its own laidback vibe. Its got all the blah-blah yoga resorty stuff that allow people to reconnect with parts of themselves they should keep private. Entry is via a huge open foyer, supported by towering teak beams, with history everywhere. Our room is unique furnished with ancient artworks and a giant four-poster even bigger than ours back home. Dowenstairs is a private pool. Everything reeks of history of art deco. Its an entrancing trip back in time allowing us no chance to resist the hotel's seductive charms."
