Amata Lanna: "Boutique Oasis"
"A small boutique hotel to the north of Chiang Mai near to the river Ping, a local temple and a short walk from the night bizarre. Consisting of only 12 rooms it is a refreshing retreat from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. It also has its own small pool and wifi. The building is traditional in style with large rooms with four poster beds and big chunky wooden doors. This all just adds to the charm of the place. The rooms come with shower and jacuzzi bath which was a real bonus!! The staff are extremely helpful and make you feel very welcome. Breakfast is very good with a choice of freshly cooked hot food or cold fresh fruit. Overall Amata Lanna exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend staying here if you're in Chiang Mai!!"The Island Lodge: "A gem on the Mekong river"
"A peaceful place located on a small island on the Mekong river. Perfect gate away from Ho Chi Min. Nice view on the river. Great staff and team. "My 10the stay at this wonderful, simple and warm lodge. Staff are second to none, food is delicious, the views are simply stunning! Jhalak and Hari made us feel very welcome and spoilt us rotten! The rooms all have a view and are spread over the property in chalets. Morning tea is served there and used as a wake up call. No tv or telephones in room. "We had the absolute best time at Hotel Tugu in spite of travelling during the volcano chaos and one day of illness. Nothing could spoil our time at this luxurious resort. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay great and are truly exceptional. It's in a fabulous location right next to the beach. We took advantage of all the facilities - pool, spa, room service, restaurants, tours, and even a surfing lesson. Each experience was fantastic. I was celebrating my 30th and I cannot thank the each member of the staff at Hotel Tugu enough for their attentive and kind service. Their service is always impeccable. They revamped their breakfast menu and it's amazing. Apart from healthy options, they added fancy options like truffle quiche. You must try their freshly baked croissant too... you will not regret it. It is literally the best croissant I've ever had. Just returned from the 2 day, one night cruise on the Bassac - and I want to give my warmest recommendation. The cruise is excellent value for money, the staff extremely friendly and the food is one of the best we have eaten all over SE Asia. If you want to spend two relaxed days on a little ship - choose this company! The cozy cabins are spotless clean and you even got air conditioning. The company is managed by a French owner so everything is up to the highest European standard. Even if you think the price is steep - it is worth every penny! "We were so pleased with our several day stay at the Tugu Malang. It is located very close to the train station. The hotel is like being in a 'luxurious' museum. We were so enthralled with all of the antiquities and beautifully designed rooms. Even if you don't stay here....pay for the tour....it's completely worth it. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent! There is also a bakery/coffee shop associated with the hotel. Food was wonderful....spiced nicely....varied offerings and prices. The staff treated us like ""family"". Our favorite waitress would have a table saved for us by the pool with our names written on a leaf in silver pen. They think of every detail We recommend taking the time to have their free tea offering in the afternoon. The spa massage was also very relaxing. Have them call you a bicycle tuktuk and cycle around town some evening. Definitely stay here if you have the opportunity! "The Island Lodge: "Serenity"
"Recently went here a second time and it pure bliss. The resort is stunning, beautifully designed accompanied by good service and a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere. We live in Saigon and we usually travel outside the country when we have any spare time but we make time to come to Island Lodge because it's that's great. We're actually going for our third visit in less than a week. Can't wait. "
