Tugu Lombok: "Holiday"
"Se stayed for four nights in this wonderful hotel. The food, the spa, the snorkeling was really nice.,We had a Baghavat Gita room and it was like being back in time. We took the hotel boat for a snorkeling day and saw a turtle. You can choose to have dinner where you like and we chose the beach. We also went to the waterfall and would highly recommend it. "Mathis Retreat: "Small and personal, out of the way of the hustle and bustle"
This small boutique hotel is just a short car ride away for the busy Ubud area. The service is impeccable from the minute you arrive. If you are interested in seeing the sites guided the hotel manager is happy to arrange a private guide. The rooms while nothing over the top fancy are quite large and have a wonderful view of the rice paddies that surround it and are very clean and well maintained. The infinity pool while we were there was quite cool but that is to be expected for November. The restaurant on site is an open air area with a roof, with a nice of the area. The menu while not large has excellent food choices which are all quite good. We did not have a bad meal here. Prices were reasonable for the restaurant, rooms and the spa facilities. There has been a change in ownership which was happening about the time we were staying there, my hope is that it has been a seamless change as it truly is a little piece of paradise.Mathis Retreat: "Quelle Merveille"
We spent 3 nights in this hotel. What about as the superlatives are many. We stayed in the bungalow and what comfort .... it is a quiet intimate place a splendid view of rice fields. Possibility to join the center of Ubud on foot in 20mn through rice fields and villages. I highly recommend The breakfast is fabulous and the meal restaurant Terracotta Go there with confidenceLocavore: "A Treat for all the Senses"
One of the 10 best meals I've ever had in my life. My husband and I each had the five course tasting menu, sharing the meat and vegetarian options. We simply lost count of the "extras" we were given. The food was fresh, imaginative, gorgeous, and so delicious! A meal like this in Manhattan would cost four times as much - and would not be presented by such delightful servers. I'd go every week if I lived near Ubud.Rachamankha: "Better than expected"
"Enchanting, exquisite , excellent, charming, amazing ..... What more can I say? My husband and I stayed at this very beautiful rare gem of a boutique hotel last week and everything couldn't be more perfect, Special thanks and much appreciation to service staff during breakfast and front desk they were all super professional including the security guard who had a torch light ready when he saw me ""digging"" into my handbag in the dark to pay the tuk tuk driver. Will definitely be planning another trip there!"David’s Kitchen: "Wine tasting and apps to match each"
Absolutely fabulous!!!!! All the wines were great and the finger food, yum yum. Lamb lollipops, scallops, shrimp and pork. All terrific. The tasting cost 900 tb per person and well worth it. We're going back and have checked out the menu and have picked a 7 course tasting. We figure without wine it will cost 4,000-4,500 tb. Very expensive but we hope worth it. Well deserved reputation, we'll let you know if it's worth the cash. Bon Appetite!Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "That deserted beach we all hunger for"
"This amazing place is definitely an effort to reach. We organised a car from Surat Thani train station, which was pricey (3000 Baht - ""Cheaper Than Hotel taxi Khao Lak"" -but still undercuts other taxis) but ensured we made it to Khuraburi Pier correctly as options appeared limited. Golden Buddha organised long tail boat to and from resort but at 2000 Baht each way, it's not cheap either. The boat trip is a tour in itself, crossing mangrove swamps and weaving between islands. Due to high tides we had to get a 4x4 across Ko Phra Thong to resort but that just added to experience. Resort consists of many privately owned cabins along a 1Km stretch just back from beach (which is 12Km long and almost completely deserted!). Massi, the Italian manager was simply amazing. Extremely welcoming, engaging, considerate, just brilliant and added to trip. Our cabin, Baan Coco was nice although limited view. Unlimited water, lovely room, invigorating semi-outdoor shower and wildlife galore. Incredibly quiet so don't come if you want bustling night life! Only single option for dinner (aside nice beach pizza bar) so went half board. Food was very nice and predominantly Thai style. Changed menu each night. Thoroughly recommend trekking tour of Ko Ra, the jungle island next door, which was fantastic (prepare to have to swim!). Ultimately wonderful stay at a place that really does feel at the far edge of Thailand!"Glenburn Tea Estate: "Perfect"
A great place to stay. Views were stunning, hosts were really helpful. Tea tour, walks and toy train ride all great, and the Glenburn guides took all of the hassle out of it. Food was great too, and lots of it! Ride was long and bumpy, but drivers were safe and friendly. Picnic at a viewpoint was also a highlight. The Apsara Rive Droite: "Beautiful decorations"
We really enjoy our stay here. The decoration is so lovely and beautiful from the lobby to the garden and inside the room. Colorful, peaceful and very relaxing atmosphere. Staff is friendly and helpful with smiling everytimeThe Village House: "Nirvana in the forest"
What a gem....an hour from Kuching in Santobong village...taxi and shuttle available....close to Damai beach and cultural village....this oasis is so lovely it is hard to leave and go sightseeing....great food, good wine and bar selection...lovely pool and staff that go the extra mile with genuine cheerfulness....will be going back for sure
