Locavore: "Amazing"
"Quite a different experience of food made with local ingredients, but in a modern way. When you first enter, you can choose from the 5-course menu or 7-course menu, but don't be fooled - there are many more appetizers and desserts that they sneak into the menu. There was also a vegetarian menu, as well as some raw dishes. I don't eat raw stuff, so the waitress advised that I could substitute the items from the vegetarian menu, or other items from the 7 course menu. There is no a la carte menu. As each dish is presented, the waitress will explain briefly about the ingredients and how you are supposed to eat it. I think there are already many pictures of the dishes, so I don't have to go into them in detail. Sufficient to say, each dish is made of a complex and interesting symphony of flavours, so your tongue in for a major treat. The entire 5-course meal took 2 hours, so be sure to budget sufficient time for this experience. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. To book, you can go through the website, and be sure to book 2-3 months in advance to ensure that you can get a slot you want. The restaurant is usually fully booked. Also, if you do book - make sure that you do not get your booking wrong. They are serious about charging USD60 per person for no-shows."The Cabochon Hotel: "Hidden Treasure in the heart of Sukhumvit"
Cabochon is hidden inside Soi 45. Once you reach there, it has a real peaceful and charming feel. The decor is exquisite with very fine attention to detail. They have a lovely bar and also a very tasty Northern style Thai restaurant. It is a definite place to visit for food, drinks or a relaxing night. I will definitely be back here! Until next time...tugu lombok: "A slice of tropical paradise"
"In a 3-week adventure around Bali and Lombok, the Tugu Lombok was our absolute favourite place that we stayed, hands down. The resort is stunning, the grounds are impeccable, the rooms are extraordinarily beautiful. The beach is white sand and turquoise waters. Every meal we ate (in both restaurants) was absolutely delicious. The breakfast spread is fantastic (with a particularly amazing fruit plate) and the assortment of snorkelling equipment, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards is a great way to pass afternoons on the water. Things are laid out so that you never feel crowded. But by far the best thing about Tugu Lombok is the staff. Everyone, from Sharon, the GM, and Henry, her right hand man, to the spectacular restaurant staff, spa team, housekeeping staff, and security, were the epitome of hospitality. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and polite, and everything they do is heartfelt and done with a smile. They anticipated our every need before we even expressed them and made us feel enormously welcome during our entire stay. We can't recommend this spot enough to anyone travelling to Lombok (and even if you're not, you might want to change your plans to include the Tugu). One small note on rooms - we had read through previous TripAdvisor reviews and decided to take the overwhelmingly consistent advice to splurge on a Bhagavat Gita suite and we were completely blown away by the beauty and design of these extraordinary villas. "Maison Polanka: "Tropical paradise with outstanding service"
We stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary and had one of the most amazing few days of our lives. From the personalised greeting at the airport , our anniversary flowers, the welcome drink with lemongrass as a straw and the beautiful decoration throughout the property, it is such a special place. I haven't felt so spoilt since I was a child at my grandmother's house. We slept late one afternoon after an early start at the temples, so candles were light so I could take a late swim, fresh baked cakes are delivered to your sun bed as you swim and you are always greeted with a smile. Best hotel I have ever stayed in and I shall return.Maduzi Hotel: "A hidden gem – excellent in its way"
"This is a beautiful place, hidden next to the Exchange Tower. The location is quite convenient with walking distance to nearby shopping mall and the train station. We were greeted by friendly and staff members with an attitude of ever wanting to help, so the check in process was easy. The rooms were big and great. Extremely large bed and comfortable bed. It is truly a hidden gem. I would recommend this place and would certainly book again if I were to go to Bangkok. Stayed April 2017, traveled with friends"The Island Lodge: "Wonderful honeymoon stay at the Island Lodge"
We stayed at the island lodge for one night to give us an opportunity to explore the Mekong delta. Our stay was very relaxing, the room was beautiful and very clean, the pool and sauna facilities were also pleasant and relaxing. We opted to go on a tour to the unicorn and Phoenix islands nearby in My Tho, guided by a member of the hotel staff. The tour was great for finding out more about the Mekong delta culture, and we bought some of the local coconut sweets and honey to take home too!Les Maisons Wat Kor: "Very peaceful place"
"The moment you arrived stuffs welcoming you very friendly. Room it's self is fine but the bed is a little hard to sleep. Totally recommended you to eat dinner at hotel. They made a very good delicious Khmer food. But for breakfast is so so. The environment is very peaceful and so green. Very nice place to stay but recommended to go as couple or group or it will be little lonely for you."4 rivers: "Best floating paradise"
We have just left 4 rivers today and were very sad to leave. We had the most amazing time and everything about the experience was excellent. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough for you. The service is excellent. The setting is beautiful and peaceful and all facilities that you would expect on a floating camp are available. The meals offered are that of a 5 star experience, wonderful food, amazing presentation and served professionally. The day trips and guides were also fantastic. Make sure you go on the fire fly boat trip just 20mins and it's free plus you're back in time for dinner. You MUST visit this camp and experience it yourselves.Sukoon Houseboat: "Perfect luxurious houseboat, great service, food and location"
We booked the suite at the back of the boat which was very quiet. Babu the waiter was fantastic. The food was really great, had the best momos (even in Nepal/Tibet they are soggy and poor quality). The little motor boat to take us to and from the shore was perfect. Definitely take a little Shikara for an hour's boat ride. Take time to relax and enjoy the houseboat though. Good book and some Kashmiri tea, perfect.Maduzi Hotel: "Excellent"
Maduzi Hotel is a charming boutique hotel that has its customers in mind in every minute detail. Allow me to share what's excellent in this hotel: 1. Location - near the BTS Asok station and Terminal 21, just 5 minutes walking distance. 2. Flexible - hotel can adjust the time of your check out; this is especially good if you're catching an evening flight. 3. Big spacious and cozy room with a comfortable king size bed and fluffy pillows. Just note that the toilet / bathroom are open and do not have a door. 4. Complimentary mini bar that they replenish daily! This hotel is very generous. 5. Complimentary drinks can be claimed any time during your stay, and also unlimited hot / cold drinks at the bar which is perfect after a long day outside touring or shopping. This is always a welcome treat! 6. Jacuzzi a plus, though the hotel does not have a swimming pool facility but every little detail and care in this hotel compensates for the lack of it. 7. Staff is very helpful and commendable for giving excellent customer service. 8. Breakfast menu is varied and plated well, with unlimited salad and fruit bar. 9. You must try their vegetable shot offered during breakfast! They offer a concoction of fresh vegetable juices for US$1.5 per glass. This hotel is commendable, worth staying and recommending!Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
