Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Excellent service"
"After eating out all week at $10 for two joints along the Taphul Road we decided to splash out on our last night and booked a table at this restaurant. They specialise in tasting menus and offer 6 courses for $31 pp and 5 courses for $27. Wines start at $22 and rise to $100. Two different tasting menus are on offer each night so we opted for one of each so we could taste each others food. The service is immaculate and each course is described in detail before its presented. The portions are not huge but that is to be expected with a tasting menu such as this. The location is not walkable from the town centre so a tut tut is required but it is only $2 each way. As I said its an expensive place by Cambodian standards and not a restaurant you would come to on a daily basis, but its great for a treat. the service is fantastic, the food is out of this world and the premises are awesome.I recommend a visit here at least once , but do book a table as they get full very quickly."The Island Lodge: "A bijou at the Mekong Delta"
Our stay at The Island Lodge was simply awesome. The food is great and the service is extremely polite and attentive. Michel has taken his time to personally talk to us and make guests feel welcome which is much appreciated and adds to the warm experience we had. The whole experience is rounded up with the nice swimming pool at the Mekong river and the Spa which invite to some relaxing moments.Anopura: "Still wonderful"
"We returned to Anopura after three years, and enjoyed it just as much as before. The remote setting is wonderful, the accommodation is excellent, and Ishwar and his team provide a wonderful service. Breakfast by the pool, lunch in the shade and dinner under the stars are all delightful, with fresh local ingredients. On a walk with Ishwar we got to meet some of the producers of the food we'd eaten in the days before. After five hectic weeks in Rajasthan this was a marvellous way to finish our trip. Le personnel était aux petits soins durant tout notre séjour et, surprise, comme c'était le jour de mon anniversaire, nous avons eu le soir, au restaurant, un splendide gâteau d'anniversaire que nous avons partagé avec tous les convives. Les tentes, très confortables, sont dispersées dans le verger et tout ici respire la sérénité. We spent four nights at the lovely Villa Song in August after a trip down the Mekong and it was a lovely surprise. The hotel is a beautifully restored French villa sitting right on the river in District 2. We chose to stay there because it is away from the hustle and bustle of District 1 and were very pleased with our choice. The restaurant on the river serves great food in a picturesque setting. The pool at the back of the hotel provides a peaceful retreat. Each of the rooms are different and we had one at the back with a little courtyard next to the pool which we were very happy with. The staff are excellent and the art work and presentation of the hotel is 5 star. We would not hesitate to stay at Villa Song next time we are in Ho Chi Minh.Tugu Bali: "Wonderful property and top-notch service"
Stayed here for my birthday in May, and found the service to be amazing. The entire staff was friendly but not obtrusive, and the hotel grounds are just beautiful. They also helped my friends arrange a birthday surprise for me; highly recommend this place for a peaceful getaway! We were at this hotel as part of our honeymoon trip. Very well located, near the airport, and near the center of Siem Reap, our stay was very pleasant. The rooms are really nice and comfortable, and the staff people are very friendly, like all the people you know in Cambodia. I really like this restaurant. It doesn't have too many tables, so it's not crowded. The kitchen is open to the customers - always a good sign. The staff are all good. The food, cooking, and experience, all superb. Not too expensive, although it is not cheap. The pork fat candles were excellent. Everything was excellent. Had a glass of very good wine. Recommended by a Thai friend. The food was excellent. Great service as well. The restaurant was full on a Tuesday night, you have to book. At least a dozen people came while we were eating and had to leave, because it was fully booked. My husband prefers his food not too spicy and they accommodate him. All the dishes we tried were excellent! Very good value and nice atmosphere.
