David’s Kitchen: "Fabulous restaurant experience!"
"On a cold day in England I heard on the radio in London last year that a restaurant in Chiang Mai had made it to the top 10 list of best restaurants in the whole world. As we'd already made plans to visit Chiang Mai on our forthcoming holiday to Thailand it seemed a very good idea to visit Davids Kitchen. What we didn't know then but know now, is that David's Kitchen isn't just about fine dining but was a fabulous experience. From the minute we walked in to the beautiful new building we were made to feel really welcome. David came to talk to us and was a really charming man who we could have gossiped with for hours! Once seated at a table which already had our names on, the staff were very attentive and helpful, the maitre'd making suggestions and even arranging for us to share some of the set menu so we could both try the delicious pumpkin soup. The beef bourginion was out of this world as was all the food, wine and cocktails. We felt very much at home there even though we'd never been there before. David and his lovely wife Prom along with their amazing chef Mr O have ensured that their restaurant isn't just a 5* experience but is real class. We will definately be back!!"Talabgaon Castle: "A night with the maharajah"
Prior to my departure to India I went on their website to see what to expect and what I saw was very appealing and filled me with great expectations. These were more than realised as the reality of the place is quite simply enchanting. First there is the imposing and stylish and elegant archway that you have to go through, then the splendour of the building reveals itself with in front of it a manicured garden. After that it is sheer enjoyment of the senses as you go through courtyards, reading rooms with imposing chandelier. I felt an incredible sense of peace there helped in that respect by the most exotic room that I have ever stayed something of the Arabian nights. The staff is locally employed and will do their best for you. The food is nice. Walking through the garden it was a pleasant surprise to encounter an emu. Whilst there I would recommend the camel ride going through the village and surroundings as it gives you the chance to be up close with the villagers who will extend to you the most enthusiastic of welcome. I left this place the following day with only one regret and that is that I would have wanted to stay there a bit longer.Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "A M A Z I N G"
"You are looking at a small resort with bungalows for rooms. Do not expect large hotel amenities but nothing will turn you off either. Its a hidden gem that offers exquisite luxury and privacy for those who seek just that. We visited the hotel for our honeymoon between 28 of December and 4 of January. We avoided the raining season but do expect some heavy rain that usually lasts between 10-30 minutes. Don't forget that these are the tropics. We choose a private pool villa and luckily we got one that had an ocean view. Since day one the staff was the best staff ever. Room was very clean and was maintained daily as well as towels.Tum (the staff manager I think) was always present for anything we requested, we owe him a praise. Staff added water and citronella in a candle evaporator so to drive away mosquitos that worked really well. The hotel is 10 minutes maximum by taxi from Chaweng beach which is a large tourist area where you can get any nightlife, any beach action or any restaurant you seek to spend the day. The hotel beach is not ideal for swimming because its a bit rocky but the infinity pool makes up for it. We booked half board and we never left the hotel. The restaurant food is very good and has a lot of options, breakfast as well. Prices are very decent and the barbecue days are the best. Our room did not get any Wifi signal at all which wasn't a problem for us since that kept us off our phones and might be a problem for some, but the reception at the restaurant was excellent and fast. There is a 7 Eleven within 5 minutes walk where someone can buy anything even cheaper. Buy a mosquito spray repellant from there, it is offered in the room but it is more expensive. Overall we had a dreamy honeymoon that we wouldn't change it for anything else. Thank you Sea Dance Resort. Room Tip: If you want WiFi then ask for room close to restaurant."Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Fine dining at very good value for money"
So pleased I reserved this restaurant 90 days before we got there! It is so much in demand and I am not surprised. We chose the 6-course dinner accompanied by their recommended wine and with each course you look forward to the next one. Art on a plate and simply delicious. Just $31 for the 6-courses! Unheard of!!! Chef came round each table for our comments which we really did appreciate especially when the restaurant is so busy. The hostess was also very helpful and pleasant.Poring Hot Spring Nature Reserve: "Well established hot spring and nature reserve"
"The hot spring and nature reserve is pretty established, but im afraid a lil too developed. It has lost its own nature identity. The butterfly park, the rafflesia farm etc. Its a good nature reserve for family and elderly. If you are a nature and adventure seeker, this might be abit too developed. Kinabalu/ bako national park in Sarawak will be a better option No animals free roaming in the nature reserve, the hot spring too is filled in personal tubs. Alot of attraction need to pay extra. On the good side, do hike up for the waterfall. It is a pristine condition waterfall that pretty easy to reach. Alot of basic necessities are provided. Toilets, changing room, water supply are all kept in good condition."Villa Song: "Beautiful location, lovely hotel and staff."
Stayed here for a wedding. Hotel is stunning and right on the river. Can get a river taxi into District 1 included in your hotel price which takes around 15minutes. Staff very helpful and always serve with a smile. Food was amazing. There's a great bar 5 minutes walk away called Saigon Outcast.Muang La Lodge: "Idyllic Setting"
"This property is magical. It is a small boutique property offering outstanding service. While the English of some of the staff is limited, Rafael or one of his assistants is always there to make sure you have what you need and to make sure you have an outstanding experience. The guide Rafael arranged for our trip to visit surrounding villages was the best of our Lao trip. The breakfast and dinner were both top notch. Innovative, high quality really good food. The hotel also offers a hot spring, spa and private island with swimming pool. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"The Cabochon Hotel: "Unique, cool hideaway"
Funky public areas, with quirky vintage decor everywhere. Location is superb. Staff are brilliant. Food - limited choice but very good indeed. The perfect omlette. Very much a hideaway. Actual rooms a little tired.Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Beautiful & Relaxing"
My new Wife and I visited Neeleshwar Hermitage on one of the last legs of our honeymoon (November 2014). After a hectic few weeks our stay here was much needed! On arrival we were greeted by such friendly staff who throughout our stay were always very helpful and saw to our every need. I honestly can't fault the service. The whole resort is very beautiful and tranquil and the accommodation was amazing. We absolutely loved the bathroom! :D The restaurant was wonderful and so was the food! We really loved our time there and would certainly stay there again. To top it off they send me a birthday card every year. I received the latest one in the post today! Thank you to all at Neeleshwar Hermitage for making our stay and our honeymoon perfect. Chris & Lori.MesaStila: "32nd wedding anniversary"
"We had a very happy 4 days stay at this very lush and well kept 22 acres resort / staying ins huge garden. The service was superb and all the staffs including the villagers where we walked were very friendly. We enjoyed the very interesting background of this coffee plantation. We had a huge villa facing Mount Andong which we also climbed to have a good view of the farms below. It is a 11/2 hrs steep climb but not difficult. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"
