The Cabochon Hotel: "Stunning interior & great service"
As soon as we arrived here it took my breath away. So unexpected in the hustle of Bangkok. The interior and attention to detail was superb. The staff are friendly and attentive. We only stayed here for one night but we visit Bangkok regularly and will definitely stay here when we return.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Home away from home"
"My 10the stay at this wonderful, simple and warm lodge. Staff are second to none, food is delicious, the views are simply stunning! Jhalak and Hari made us feel very welcome and spoilt us rotten! The rooms all have a view and are spread over the property in chalets. Morning tea is served there and used as a wake up call. No tv or telephones in room. This preserves the tranquil atmosphere."Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Safari"
We were at the camp sit for a night in a tent and we had a safari. It was a greath journey. The hole set up was amazing and the guides really know a lot about wildlife. The food is delicious and the nature is wonderful.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Charming Mansion"
"My experience at the Blue Mansion was pleasant from start to end. The staff was very welcoming, courteous, and polite. Our room was very spacious, clean, and included little snacks and juices. Walking through the mansion's dimly lit walkways, having the fresh air outside your door, and admiring the architecture and detail of the decor add to a majestic feel I appreciated while staying in Penang. The included breakfast was very well prepared and the staff always accommodating. I would no doubt stay at the Blue Mansion the next time I'm in Penang. Stayed November 2016, traveled with family"Mie Cafe: "most creative young Khmer chef!"
Always pleased to get back to a place I liked... and see quality is consistent, service is even better and the chef still humble and creative. Congrats to Chef Pola and his team!Supanniga Cruise: "Fantastic boutique dinner cruise experience"
"We booked the SC as a birthday celebration whilst family were visiting Bangkok (4 adults in total). We booked the Dinner Champagne Tattinger Cruise package which offers a fantastic selection of various dishes following a flute of Tattinger upon boarding. As five-year residents of Bangkok, we had always wanted to experience a Chao Phraya dinner cruise, but had no intention of joining the buffet-style, neon-light-laden barges with over 500 other ""diners"" queing and elbowing our way around a floating eye-sore. In contrast, the SC setup is a very small, boutique, and well-managed operation, with a limited number of diners in a quiet and intimate setting. The top deck offers great uninterrupted views of the passing river and buildings on the banks. The route takes in many of the river's highlights including The Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, as well as some of the quieter stretches south of Taksin Bridge. The table service was very attentive, professional (but relaxed) and prompt - there is quite a substantial list of servings to get through in the two hour experience, but the portions are tasty and appropriate. Being fans of the Bangkok outlets of Supanigga, we are aware of the seafood-orientation of the menu, and there was a bit of spice involved in a few dishes, but it is all very nice and very well prepared given the limitations on kitchen (being on a small boat!). The departure from River City is very convenient and well-managed (with booking confirmation phone call earlier in the day). Being able to park in the River City complex is very helpful. We were very excited to see the launch of this endeavour by Supanigga and were very happy and satisfied (and full!) that we chose it for a special occasion. We all thoroughly recommend the experience, and hope to return to take it all in again in the near future."Tugu Lombok: "Certainly unique!"
I was a little apprehensive as we drove down a dirt road and stopped at an old building which was really dark inside. Everything was not old, but antique, and of the best taste. A real treasure trove! Our room was splendid, and we much enjoyed the huge copper bath with its rain shower. The common buildings are spectacular, too, and the decor in the bar is brilliant. The staff, though not ultra-efficient, could not have been more attentive, and the food was very good. Having said that, one has to accept that Lombok has limited resources and that supplies sometimes run out. Massages were excellent, and we took advantage of the outings on offer, which were very well organised. This is a wonderful place to relax.Maisons Wat Kor: "Beautiful hidden gem – perfect for a relaxing getaway"
Sadly we only stayed for one night, it is the perfect place to relax especially since it is a little out of town. The Cambodian style villas are cozy with a good range of amenities (just wish they provided some shampoo and shower gel in the bathrooms), the pool and pond areas are lovely with all the tropical plants and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the morning sitting on the deck overlooking the lotus flower pond and the afternoon swimming in the pool (surprisingly the water was cool despite the heat). The food in the restaurant was fresh and delicious. The server went out of his way to cut us fresh coconuts from the tree. Definitely a place to return to for another weekend getaway.Satri House: "Tasteful and relaxing"
Stayed here in low season. Around a quarter full. Best time to go to Luang Prabang but, with the heat, it is still great to have Satri House to retreat to. Basically faultless: tastefully designed, lovely staff, two nice pools, great rooms, good breakfast. The setting is intimate, various buildings woven into the gardens. A few minutes by bike (free from the hotel) into the centre.Jing’s Residence: "Terrific stay, best in Pingyao"
My family of four stayed 2 terrific nights at Jing's Residence in November 2016. The staff was incredibly attentive, and very engaging and friendly to our two young children. The hotel is beautiful, clean and well appointed. Wonderful atmosphere. Fantastic food, also. Location is perfect for exploring Pingyao, and the hotel can arrange a reasonably priced car and driver to nearby attractions. Highly recommend this hotel to stay, and the restaurant also. Pingyao - due in part to how much we liked Jing's Residence - was one of my favorite experiences in China over four years living here.
