VILLA SONG SAIGON: "Beautiful and relaxing introduction to Vietnam"
"Shuttle water taxis allowed easy entry into the city and a quick escape at the end of the day. Tours to chi chi tunnels and Mekong delta pick you up at their river jetty and make for a beautiful way to experience the beauty of Ho Chi Minh. The facilities at the hotel were top notch and unobtrusive. The hotel's exceptional service was appreciated and staff were friendly and efficient. it is definitely the hotel to go to if you are starting your trip or ending it. Spoil yourself and give yourself at least 3-5 nights here so you can soak up the pleasures of riverside living in Ho Chi Minh City. "THE SAMAR: "Boutique Hotel"
Only a 4 day stay,I wish it had been longer. So much to recommend about this hidden gem The rooms are luxurious fantastic bathroom.Only 9 suites and 20 odd staff to look after you swimming pool sunbeds everything cratered for plus the restaurant and food were out of this world. If you get the chance stay here you will not be disappointed . Plus of course it is central to to Ankor Wat and the other numerous temples.Reverie Siam: "Peace in Pai"
Reverie Siam Resort provided the peace we were seeking in Pai as it is located away from the tourist fray. All aspects of the property were outstanding, including the beautiful room and friendly staff. Our two meals in the restaurant were phenomenal. We hope to visit again!David’s Kitchen: "True definition of culinary experience in Chiang Mai"
"Spending the evening at David's Kitchen was a total experience. - Food was unbelievably heaven-ish: I had Wagyu Braised Beef Cheek, which as a special menu. - Ambience was impeccable. Nicely decorated. Classy taste of interior design. - Hospitality was top knotch. Conversation with David, Khun Prom and staffs were both entertaining and insightful. If I had more time, I would have loved to try out aperetivo in the Red Room, which will be soon be under renovation, I guess. Culinary experience in Chiang Mai can hardly get better, if at all!"Tugu Malang: "One of the World’s Great Hotels"
"It is rare to find a hotel where service is flawless in every detail: The Tugu Malang, one of the world's few truly great hotels, is such a place: The hotel is of such astonishing beauty and the staff are such nice hard-working people, anxious to please in every way, that the Tugu is in fact a destination in itself. If you have no other reason to stop in Malang, then do so to enjoy the extraordinary pleasures of the Tugu. The rooms are ravishing, each one with some element of art and designed thoughtfully for maximum comfort. Exotic fruits await you; the bed is turned down with a friendly note before you go to sleep. Want your shoes cleaned? They come back polished better than when they were new. Breakfast includes almost unlimited pleasures: the menu is vast and you can combine local and Western dishes. Everything is both artful and delicious and the restaurant setting is a work of art in itself. Afternoon tea is included, with an array of local delicacies, served with the ever-present Tugu charm. The hotel owner has built a world-class museum into the hotel. Seemingly endless antiques and art are fabulously displayed; and the best part is that the hotel supplies a brilliant and knowledgeable tour guide to take you round. My guide was Wahyu, who clearly loves the hotel and told me he takes considerable amounts of time to research the objects on display so as to give the best presentation. His tour was completely involving because of his intelligence and enthusiasm -- it felt like being a celebrity receiving a highly-privileged personal presentation from the head curator of a national museum! I do hope that management will recognize Wahyu's excellence and ensure his career development in both museum curating and management! Reception also has the best people: kind, knowledgeable, helpful. They can get you wherever you want in town and make any needed arrangements for you. If you'd like to visit Bromo I'd highly recommend taking the cross-desert route from Malang: it is highly scenic and also quite surreal in places. I did the trip the other way round by ojek (motorbike taxi), but you can also do it by jeep and the Tugu can make arrangements. The ability to take this mindbending route is reason enough to stay in Malang. But you don't even need that reason. The rare graciousness, fragrant beauty, opulence, detailed service and pure delight that exemplifies everything the Tugu stands for means that you should head for the Tugu if you are anywhere in the region for no other reason than to stay in one of the most fabulous five-star hotels in the world at a price for which you would get something only very ordinary in the USA or Europe. This is a best of the best, a treasure, a complete delight: don't miss the opportunity to stay there!"Maison Polanka: "A HAVEN OF PEACE AND COMFORT"
"I wish we could claim responsibility for finding this hotel on line and booking it ourselves. But it was all done for us, and from the moment we stepped inside the sanctuary of its garden we were pampered, spoilt and generally looked after in a way which we often dream of but rarely experience. This really is one of a kind, with setting, accommodation, staff, food and service to match. If you can get a room - and there are only five - then this is a must-stay hotel. My only regret is that we are unlikely to return to Cambodia, but have been left with lasting memories. Room Tip: Any room you can book will be fantastic"Manda De Laos: "Gorgeous settings!"
The waterlilies and the huge pond is reason enough to have a meal at this place. Food is good too. All in all a lovely addition to our Luang Prabang holiday itinerary.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Blissful luxury"
"Have just spent 3 nights in this breathtakingly beautiful part of Cambodia and can't recommend this place highly enough. The setting is serene and absolutely beautiful, surrounded by a forest rich with birdlife and native animals. The floating tents are very nicely appointed and comfortable. Thid is how camping should be! What made the stay for me was the excellent service provided by professional and attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble and the focus is very much on the visitor enjoying their stay. From the restaurant staff to the guides who took us on a day tour to the waterfall, the staff are friendly and more than happy to share information about this beautiful region and their culture. The food was amazing with a changing set menu and lots of a la carte options, utilising local fresh ingredients. A good range of wine, beer and spirits is also on offer. The concept of no tv, no telephones and no internet may be challenging for some however the opportunity to sit and watch river life and the natural environment is priceless. This was the highlight of my Cambodia trip and I can't recommend this experience highly enough"MesaStila: "Food for soul"
Mathis Retreat: "Beautiful tranquil oasis in the rice fields"
"The Kenanga in Ubud is a perfect place to stay. We had a room overlooking the beautiful rice fields of the hotel. The gardens are very lovely and the infinity pool is awesome. Breakfast is served a la carte and is delicious (the fruit jam is very tasty...). To get to Ubud Centre there is a free shuttle every hour until 5pm. Afterwards you have to take a taxi for around 40000 Rupiah. An alternative (by daylight) is to walk through the lush rice fields and arrive in the city centre after 1 hour. Carine, the owner is extremely helpful and organized a small private trekking tour with a local guide for us to a remote waterfall. All in all we had a wonderful time in Kenanga and will be back for sure next time we are in Ubud."
