Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Holiday perfection"
"This is our second time visiting here and better than ever. The staff and rooms are amazing. The food is the best I have ever tasted and I love Indian food the stability of the Hotel from the manager to the gardeners is wonderful and doesn't change. Anyone who needs to unwind this is the place to do it if you love the beach and the sea you have it in abundance. Room Tip: Pay a little extra and have a sea view room so tranquil"Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Un grand merci"
"Séjour incroyable ! Tous était parfait. Chambre magnifique, excellent restaurant et super environnement. J'y serai bien resté encore quelques jours. Encore merci aux personnels fantastiques. Merci, merci !! Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Flower Island Resort: "A gem in paradise"
"We spent four nights here and loved it.The island is small with only one resort with a capacity to accommodate about 40 people. However, by the looks of it, the usual occupancy is about 10 guests at the time. The rooms are at the lower-end standard. Most have just a fan, but some have A/C. The double bed is small and with the bednet effectively stopping any circulation of air. I ended up sleeping on the extra bed, which was fine. The bathroom is big, but if you are one to enjoy hot showers - this is not the place. BUT; having said all this, Flower Island resort really was the place that made our holiday an unforgettable memory. The location on the island is just fabulous. The staff is outstanding, helpful and doing anything to ensure you have a great time. They offer super nice excursions at a fair price including lunch and drinks. Don’t miss the pearl farm which is really interesting and worth seeing. Also, the walk up to the tower is well worth the effort. The view is spectacular and you can even sleep up there and wake to sunrise... Snorkling; can probably not get much better these days when corrals are mostly dead or dying. But there is a lot of fish and we were lucky to see sea-turtles. Food has received various comments on this site. We found it quite good, although, since it is all-inclusive you don’t get to choose in case you don’t like what’s on today’s buffet. If you are looking for peace and a quite combined with excursions and the odd massage, this is as good as it gets."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A unique experiece"
The Blue Mansion was a wonderful, unexpected experience, a beautifully restored house with a calm and quiet environment. Large comfortable room, good choice of breakfasts and delicious food and good service in the Indigo restaurant. It is well worthwhile doing one of the tours to learn about the fascinating history given by a very entertaining Chinese lady. We found all the staff without exception to be very friendly and helpful, but in particular Shirley (I think that was her name) who gave us lots of advice of where to go and what to do which we did - the street art in Georgetown, markets, restaurants, Penang Hill and Battu Ferringai, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a very different few days, we haven’t stopped talking about theBlue Mansion.Babe: "Amazing view, amazing food"
The restaurant is on the 11th floor of an office block, and has uninterrupted views of the twin towers and KL skyline. Everyone in our party took pictures, including the locals. The food is modern Japanese. We had the tasting menu which had some great items. However we ordered a couple from the menu and they were fantastic too. If you are there for a birthday then let them know - the card you get is uniqueThe Cabochon Hotel: "Colonial style hotel in great neighborhood"
"Beautiful colonial style building chock full of quirky antics and books on interior design. We loved the living room and porch. The rooms are simple, but clean and you will find all you need. Just not very handy that some of the rooms have a bath tube only. Palm, the receptionist was very helpful in booking a tour for us ahead of our stay. And the cocktails served in the bar are awesome. Just a bit strange that the nuts we bought ourselves and that we asked the bar tender to serve us in a bowl were also given to other guests the same evening while we were still there. The neighborhood is great. The subway station is very close and next to the Emquartier mall. Plenty of nice restaurants and independent coffee places in the area. Definitely the better part of Sukhimvit road. If you like boutique hotels, this is a great one. Room Tip: Rooms have either showers are a bath tube. Having just a bath might not be very handy if you want to..."Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Tranquility and service at its finest"
"I stayed at the lodge with my son and husband for three nights, and it was a highlight in our trip to Nepal. The location of the lodge is high in the mountains and away from the city. It is cooler than Pokhara City, peaceful, and the air is fresh. You will get to see magnificent views and its tranquility is simply inspiring. We stayed at cabin 7 and it was perfect for us in terms of privacy, space, and amenities. It has a balcony from where we could see the Annapurna Himalayas, beautiful sunrises, and get glimpses of birds, butterflies, and all kinds of insects (I got lulled to sleep by insect sounds in the evening). Our stay there was a relaxing pattern of glorious sunrises and sunsets (we were very lucky in this regard), nice but challenging hikes, and afternoons of reading, writing, chess and the Nepali game of “tiger and goats” (which the staff taught my son to play). We also enjoyed the pool (it is unheated but is a cool respite in the afternoon after our hikes), which has its own surreal view of Machapuchare and the Annapurna ranges. The staff members are wonderful. They are very attentive and accommodating and I really like how engaging they were with my son (who is 8 years old and very inquisitive). When my son found the library and the display it had, one of the staff kindly explained the specimens (e.g. snakes and insects) and tools (e.g. fish traps); and, I appreciate very much that the staff was quite knowledgeable (as affirmed during the hikes we had with him as our guide where he was able to tell us more about the people, places, flora and fauna, etc. in Nepal). You will definitely feel that Marcus and the staff members are doing their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. My family is vegetarian and one of the compromises we’ve long accepted when traveling pertains to food. However, the food we were served at Tiger Mountain Lodge was simply delectable! I cannot state this enough. Each dish was delicious and I went so far as to ask for a recipe from their kitchen. The juices were always fresh, the ingredients top-grade, and you know you’re not served anything from a can. Aside from the location, service and food, I also want to highlight their advocacy for responsible tourism and accountability to the community where they are (especially within the context of developing countries like Nepal). I am supportive of the various ways in which they lessen the impact they have on the environment (e.g. minimizing the use of water bottles, not using liquid shampoos, etc) and also how they are building relationships with locals and are taking part in improving people’s lives there. I would definitely recommend the Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge to family and friends."Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A resort well deserving a mention on trip advisor"
"Excellent staff lead by a very competent manager who made an effort to speak to guests at breakfast. It gave an opportunity to voice any outstanding issues in person( not that there was any ) Fine breakfast esp Indian food. Appam (indian pancake ) was made on request. Rooms were very clean well looked after . Every evening the room was turned over , mosquito coils set up and water and a bottle of local drink provided. The ambience was of a rural setting with soft lighting to guide us at night to our cottages. Tastefully decorated to a high standard. The landscaping was very appealing. Fine clean clear blue open air swimming pool that was just right for cooling off and swimming. The waiter service was infallible . Very polite English speaking staff made it all the more delightful. Very good avurvedic treatment with in house doctor for advise. In house tailor who can complete a shirt in lass than 24 hrs. Security was good day and night as I found out when walking alone by the beach. Crows are regular visitors at breakfast time and by the swimming pool. But well kept out the guests tables by a very astute guard who used a special technique to scare them away without any harm . The sandy beach is very hot to sun bathe . The sea water is a little unclear but warm and safe to swim. Sometimes the waves can be bigger than usual and hotel uses coloured flags to inform the safety condition of sea to guests. A few go to swim as most stay by the pool. This is a hotel worth a visit . Recommend at least a week for peace and sanity ! Room Tip: Facing the sea single cottage"Heritage Suites: "Really lovely"
"A fabulous boutique hotel with one of the nicest rooms/suites I have ever stayed in. The service was so friendly and yet not ingratiating. The pool setting was shaded by beautiful foliage. Food was really nice. Our whole stay was delightful."Maison Polanka: "We felt very privileged"
"We felt very privileged to stay at la Maison Polanka. It is not a hotel; no room number, you take off your shoes before entering your room, someone comes to you with a cold scented towel when entering the property after a walk, a waiter brings you a glass of water when sitting in the garden... Everything is organized to make you feel like you are a special guest! Cathy the manager understands your expectations and is totally dedicated to her job and to make you feel special. (...) The house is authentic, full of charm and character. The garden is amazing and the large pool is warm and always clean. Staying at Maison Polenka made us feel very privileged and we would definitely recommend it for anyone who wishes to find a peaceful, tailored-to-your-needs, beautiful and comfortable place! Merci beaucoup!"
