MesaStila: "Java at its best"

"MesaStila is one of those places that blows you away. So many things about our trip far exceeded our expectations. The food was awesome. The rooms are beautiful. A highlight was the Easter Egg painting hunt that the staff ran for our two little boys. Yokyo (maybe not correct spelling) was sweet and made sure our little ones felt special. Thank you. We hope to be back. "

Slow Villas and Spa: "Super Romantic Private Oasis"

"I am an architect and have very unique houses of our own that we rent, so I am extremely particular when it comes to staying elsewhere. We decided to escape Ubud for Gili Air for Jaime's birthday. Wow! We had a perfect romantic birthday getaway and honestly had a super hard time leaving our beautiful villa at Slow. Slow is carefully designed, with attention paid to all the small details that matter to a designer like me. It is comfy and extremely romantic and private. We felt like we were in our own private oasis. The staff was wonderful and prepared a birthday song for Jaime in 3 different Indonesian Languages. So sweet! We had a lovely massage at their stunning spa. The breakfast was yummy and a feast for the eyes and I love their handmade dishes. I have a sense of what other accommodations are available on Gili and I would never consider staying anywhere else. Huge praise for SLOW! Room Tip: I think all the rooms are equally beautiful! Rooms are prettier than in the photo>"

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A First for me"

"This is the first time I have reviewed any accommodation on any website, but I am moved to do it following a lovely stay at Tiger Mountain. I went there in a poor frame of mind as all my trips to Nepal in the past have been trekking holidays, but this time I was prevented from treking long distances due to injury. My wife and daughter had gone off on the trek leaving me feeling a little grumpy. But it didn't last. Tiger mountain lifted me from the moment I arrived. There is an air of tranquility about the place which is hard to describe, but it is soothing, warming and embracing. All the staff are fantastic. They are attentive but not overbearing. They are helpful and take the time to understand you, and then offer ideas which enhance your stay. I did some lovely walks guided by in-house staff who knew the area and people so well. It just makes the walk so much more enjoyable. I was also carefully steered away from an idea for a walk which I had, which with hind site would have largely been a waste of time, ending up doing a superb replacement instead. This approach to guests runs through the organisation from top to bottom, and also rubs off on the guests. Although traveling alone I couldn't have wished for better company, I had my meals with other guests who were great company and became friends. On top of that Marcus, (the owner), found time to join us and added to some very enjoyable evenings. And what of the accommodation, well the setting is great, my verandah affording terrific views of the Annapurna range, what better way to enjoy that early morning coffee delivered to your door. And inside there are all the ameneties you would wish for, provided in an environmentally thoughtful way. The food is delicious, fresh ingredients and an imaginative chef combine to produce fantastic meals. And I think it is the staff which is Tiger Mountains greatest asset. On talking to them, most have been here for years, some since it opened, and that means visitors benefit from staff who are knowledgeable and work as a team to provide an unparrelled experience. Yes, I did enjoy my stay immensely. A big thank you to Marcus and ALL his staff."

David’s Kitchen: "So good in many ways!"

"Was so happy that I booked David's Kitchen for my mom's birthday. Everything was so great from the amazing menu, the delicious food, the ambiance, and the service. The menu was extensive but everything looked so good on it. I was sad that I was actually suffering from a stomach bug at the time because I wanted to eat everything. The lobster bisque is definitely ON POINT. I was weary to try because they're usually heavy and creamy and it was actually so light and even foamy at the top. A must try. The french onion soup doesn't have much cheese which I welcomed due to my circumstance, but would've preferred more if I was feeling better. The beef cheek is also a must try! Melt in your mouth. David himself also came to great us twice, our names were put on the table, and they also made arrangements for my mom's birthday. He even sent us a followup email afterwards. The attention to detail and personal touch was an appreciated surprise. The decor is also light and comfortable for a 'fancy' restaurant. It never felt stuffy in there and it had a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend. A must go in Chiang Mai!"

Tugu Lombok: "Beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach"

We stayed four nights in a Bhaghavat Gita suite which we would certainly recommend. The suite has its own garden with a large plunge pool and then you're straight onto the wonderful white sand Sire beach. The suite also has a private front garden which includes the semi-outdoor bathroom. Our daughters stayed in a kampong bungalow directly beind our villa which was perfectly adequate and a lot cheaper! You can eat on the beach or in various other places around the site - we chose the roof of the Temple-like spa. Best to book these in advance - there is no where else to eat unless you drive for about 30 mins into Sengigi - we didn't bother as the food was good and varied, with both local and international dishes (mainly Italian). The restaurant is open-sided and overlooks the pool, which was never crowded (don't think all the rooms were full when we were there). We took the dragon boat trip to snorkel at the Gili Isles which was good fun, and we saw a turtle.

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "This is the hotel I am always looking for"

I had a very warm welcome in the resort my room is beautiful I would better say this is a villa in a lovely magnificent garden near the huge wonderful pool overlooking the ocean dot The room is very spacious with a huge bed sitting area working table and lovely attached bathroom outside with a great bathtub and shower with all the great amenities you can imagine. The room Setup is magnificent with the beautiful flower decoration. I really love this please just highly can recommend it.

Supanniga Eating Room: "1 of the best Thai food"

"I have been living in Thailand for the past 12 years. And this place is really 1 of the best place to have traditional Thai food. The food portions are just nice. EVERYTHING is delicious! Do not hesitate to go try this place. No regrets! 1 thing though: it is not cheap. But in my opinion it is really worth a try! Thank me later."

Nimmu House: "A memorable visit, I won’t forget"

"I came to Nimmu House in July 2015. I landed in Ladakh and went straight to the hotel. HOTEL MANAGEMENT: The caretakers/managers were two of the most wonderful people: a young Caucasian woman and her Indian husband. I came on the day of the festival so no one else was around. They welcomed me, got me food, drink and told me their story and about the hotel. They also took wonderful care of me, letting me how much I should eat, drink and sleep before my journey to Nubra Valley the next day. They also came by to check in on me, filling up my water so I could get the full 4ltrs. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: I stayed in a tent, and I wholly recommend it. While some people in previous reviews complaint of hot water issues, I would say to them: calm down. This is in Northern Northern India, in a small village. Yes they will try and accommodate you with warm water, but you knew what you signed up for when you decided to gallivant to this side of the world. I got warm water for the most part, but took quick showers so not to use up too much water. I also showered at odd hours which is why I benefited. The actual tent is spacious. It has a huge bed that is utterly comfortable, a nice space for shower and little study area at the front. Couldn't have asked for anything more. In addition the courtyard is wonderful. I was journal-ling at the time and wrote a lot about sitting in the courtyard and hearing the thumping of apricots on the ground, the little brook that lined the courtyard, the hammocks, it really was magical during the day and evening. LOCATION: If you are looking to assimilate at a reasonable height, this is the place. It has clean air, fresh water, open spaces etc. Its a bit out from Leh but its probably best to leave the dusty loud city/town at arrival and head somewhere quieter. FOOD: I love their use of apricots in everything. While quite a bit of food -- felt like American portions -- it was very welcoming to get such a lovely meal when I arrived (even though they did not have me down for lunch) and prepared so fast. Dinner was wonderful, they sat me next to two people they thought I'd get along with and we did! We talked all night about our lives while sipping on local Chang beer and eating delicious food. I would say it was a bit standard in terms of type of food -- didn't really get local Ladakhi food -- but I was only there one day. OVERALL: Don't miss it. Samanea Beach Resort: "Good ratio Quality/Price"

I have liked the Quietness, the outside landscape of the hotel, the kindness of the Khmer staff. Cleanliness of room should be improved. Beach is not really bathing beach as sea water at the beach seems not to be appropriate for bathing

Reverie Siam: "Beautiful hotel"

The hotel was stuning and the room with the stand alone bath tab (river view) was amazing! The gardens, the lobby and of course the rooms were just gorgeous and very relaxing! The only minus was the restaurant- although it had a great tasety food it was all tiny so if you are hungry it's problematic to eat there. However breakfast was nice and the staff brought us more bread, and juice when needed. The staff were also very kind, and overall I would recommand this beautiful place to friends! P.s- it is 5 min from the walking streets of Pai but the hotel runs a shuttle that will take you whenever you want until 11pm, which was great for us!
