It is not at all surprising that former patrons of Villa Song are so enthusiastic about this boutique hotel. It is located in a quiet part of Saigon and has river frontage. The hotel is very well appointed, with friendly staff and very good food. A private (free) water taxi can quickly take you to the heart of Saigon thus avoiding the crazy city traffic. The rooms are large and our bed was very comfortable. My only concern was the steep spiral stair case to the top (3rd) floor bedrooms. This can be a bit of a challenge with those with knee/hip issues, as there is no lift. Do not miss the large swimming pool that is located at the rear of the hotel. If you are wanting a boutique quality hotel in Saigon, then this is it.Inle Princess Resort: "A beautiful, peaceful place to stay"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had a garden room rather than a lake room, but still beautiful. There's no tv in the rooms, but who needs that? It was just so peaceful. Great pool, bar and restaurant too and the staff were more than ready to help out with anything. I have coeliacs and the restaurant staff were happy to make something special for me, although that wasn't required as the food on their daily changing menu gave me lots of options. We were there late January and most of the other guests (and the staff) seemed to think the mornings and evenings were cold. Not for us. While the temperature was a little more temperate than other parts of Myanmar, we were perfectly comfortable without long sleeves and scarves, but I suppose that's a subjective experience. "We started our evening with the shuttle sent by The restaurant to pick us up at our hotel. The magic began. Words are not enough to describe our experience. The fabulous staff, the Decor, the high quality and food the attention to detail coupled with the warm personality of the family that owns this restaurant make this experience magical. My husband started his dinner with his favorite escargot and then a wonderful steak with a wine sauce. I enjoyed the spicy flavorful gazpacho and the chicken beast entree to keep with my diet. I joined friends to celebrate a birthday. We enjoyed impeccable service and delicious courses from start to finish. From the lovely dining room to the finishing touches on how each dish was presented made for a perfect evening. Favorites included the gazpacho, Tasmanian salmon, Wagu beef cheeks, and duck. "Most people will travel on the day to HQ prior to their climb but this year, I decided to stay at HQ so it will not feel so rushed the next day. This turned out to be the best idea. We came as a group of 4 and were given a private room to ourselves. Everything was very clean and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Towels were provided and so's bottles of water and added bonus, we have tea/coffee making facility in our room! What a treat. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone thinking of hiking up Mount Kinabalu .... stay a night at the park prior to your climb."Satri House: "Excellent, charming, classy"
Satri House is a tranquil, beautiful boutique hotel that oozes the charm of a property with a place in history - it has texture and character in a way that many other luxury hotel chain offerings at several times the price tag don't get close to. The staff are very friendly and the food had some real hits, as well. It is the rare breed that hits a sweet spot between price and feel, and so comes highly recommended from this humble traveler.
