Villa Song Saigon: "Amazing experience"

Review by: Peter F | Source: tripadvisor.com
We have just finished 3 nights here at Villa Song before departing on a river cruise and we wish that it could have been longer. This is an old French colonial house right on the Saigon river. The rooms are beautiful as is the grand winding staircase. We arrived on a flight at 11 pm and we're quickly shown to our room which was very spacious with a great bed and bathroom. The next morning was a wonderful experience as I walked down the stairs and onto the foyer to reveal an amazing view of the restaurant and outdoor dining on the Saigon river. Food was great, staff were superb and overall a great experience. This hotel is in a quiet area in district 2 so is a fair way out of Saigon Central, but hotel car runs frequently during the day to Central Saigon and finishes at the Opera House. But anyway even though it's a huge bustling city the taxi fare is around $A10. A wonderful stay.

The River Resort: "Wonderful, relaxing time in a truly peaceful environment"

Review by: Lisa N | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed in The River Resort for - unfortunately only - 1 night at the end of July. We were truly amazed by what this hotel has to offer. The welcome was gracious and we were upgraded from a ground floor room to an upper floor room without charge. The room itself was simply beautiful with a private balcony, massive comfortable bed and very stylish decor. We particularly liked the two showers available - one outside and one inside connected by a door. What an unexpected, amazing surprise! We used the hotels bikes for free to bike to Wat Phu. After an exhausting day outside the calm, relaxed atmosphere of the hotel was exactly what we needed. We had dinner at the restaurant overlooking the river and enjoyed the views of the sunset. The food served was excellent (try the Lao style pork neck!) and our waiter very attentive to our every need. Drinks were delicious as well. Prices are in USD for easier comparison. The breakfast the next morning was excellent also. The only minor complaint I have is that at nightfall there seems to be some sort of mechanism in place that emits really loud and high-pitched sounds (presumably to keep mosquitos away in an eco-friendly manner!). We would have chosen to have dinner an hour later if we had known about this feature. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our evening. We will definitely be returning to this amazing place and recommend a stay for anyone looking for some peace and quiet in this area."

The Apsara Rive Droite: "Wonderful hotel with first-class service from friendly staff"

Review by: GrahamLB2017 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Everything about the Aspara Rive Droitte is just right. Mr Ai and Mr Hann (the management team) and Mr Ivan (the owner) went out of their way to make our stay wonderful and all the other staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, with the hotel's dedicated Aspara Queen taking 60 seconds to cross the Nam Khan and deliver you to the heart of Luang Prabang - and, conversely, escape to the more serene side of the Nam Khan. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, and breakfast wonderful. The pool is a welcome relief from the heat of Laos, with the bar just a few steps away. After 5 days at this home-from-home, we were sad to leave. We hope to go back"

Satri House: "Practically perfect in every way"

Review by: GSL68 | Source: tripadvisor.com
This hotel embodies the Luang Prabang vibe of tranquillity and charm. A small collection of two storey buildings, almost invisible from the road, close enough to the centre that you can easily walk or take one of the hotel bikes (no charge) to get to the main sites, but feels like an oasis of calm, with a couple of nice little swimming pools to cool off in after a hot day visiting temples (or whatever). Spacious, attractive rooms, tastefully furnished. Exceptionally comfortable beds. The breakfast is something to look forward to in itself - great coffee, delicious pastries, perfectly cooked eggs - all appearing minutes after you've ordered. Friendly, helpful staff. I'm rarely this gushing about a hotel but there's nothing not to like about Satri House.

Jings-residence: "An absolute pleasure in every way."

Review by: mizmu | Source: tripadvisor.com
This boutique hotel has struck an exquisite balance between ancient and modern. The authentic courtyard building has retained its innate period charm, whilst they’ve managed to install some sort of genius plumbing/electrical system behind the scenes so that the facilities are absolutely up-to-date and reliable, with brilliant hot spa-like showers w/ plenty of pressure.  The rooms are all different (in shape, size, and decor), supremely comfortable, and beautifully designed. Simple, elegant, traditional courtyard style with a touch of Indonesian influence I’d say. The rooms are laid out around a series of courtyards and lantern-lined stone corridors that make you feel like you’ve time travelled. A lovely, special place. I only wish I could find more places like Jing Residence in China! xx

Manukan Island Resort: "Fantastic way to start the holiday!"

Review by: Beth8737 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Arrived at Manakan and the staff were fantastic greeted us straight from the boat, check in staff Welter was BRILLIANT and couldn't do enough for us helped us with transfers to our next destination and was just really helpful, warm and friendly. The room was great in hindsight it would have def paid more for one of the rooms within the trees as the view from there rooms just looked amazing! Great walks through the jungle but mosquito spray is ESSENTIAL!!!!! Dinner was lovely could do with more veggie options though but that seems to be a theme throughout Borneo. Lovely beach and just like everyone says once the tourists go you feel like the islands yours. Food was really good and a great price! Especially when compared to other hotels. Diving was nice although the corals are looking a bit sad and a lot have died but no fault of the resorts. Sunset point whilst it has a bin really needs someone to take the trash as over flowing bins kind of ruined it a little also once the tourists have gone a bit more effort into taking trash of the bin could be in place. A great start to the holiday and honestly a beautiful place which I'd def recommend"

Tugu Malang: "Un hôtel musée"

Review by: thvillotte | Source: Trip Advisor
"Le propriétaire présente sa collection d'objets d'art asiatique. Les objets sont disséminés dans l'hôtel. C'est magnifique. Le personnel est d'une très grande gentillesse. Au petits soins. Ne pas manquer le thé en fin d'après-midi accompagné d'une quantité de desserts merveilleux. Pour ceux qui arrivent en train, à 5 mn à pied de la gare."

Mie Cafe: "Great Authentic Cambodian Food"

Review by: kellyjay | Source: Trip Advisor
We recently ate here and had some very well prepared authentic khmer cusine for an extremely reasonable price. The fish amok and chicken amok were wonderfully prepared as was the pork mixed with eggplant and not overly spicy beef curry. Nice atmosphere and good service.
