Rachamankha: "Paradise in Old City, Chiangmai"
A surprise paradise tucked on side street close to Temples and entrance to Sunday Market. Peaceful, elegant atmosphere. Top notch service - especially in restaurant. Dinner was terrific. Breakfast: loved the almond French toast!David’s Kitchen: "Fantastic dining at David’s"
"I had the pleasure of visiting David's Kitchen on a solo trip this past week. The food was lovely, the service was very attentive and as many reviewers noted David himself is a real pleasure - much appreciated his warm and engaging welcome particularly as I had no one but my bag as a dinner companion! I cannot rave enough about the spicy fish salad with green apple. Spicy with the right amount of acidity, I seriously considered ordering another serving to go. Would love to return soon to try out more the items on the menu. "Satri House: "Perfect stylish getaway oasis"
"The whole setting of the hotel is very artsy, decorated beautifully with attention to detail and resembles the place it used to be perfectly. A quiet oasis in the middle of Luang Prabang with large, comfortable rooms, a nice pool, a very nice spa with knowledgeable staff, the whole staff team very attentive and lovely. It invites to meander around the premises, sit here and there, read, listen to the monks chanting in the nearby monastery sometimes, and just BE. Appreciated the NOT having a TV screen anywhere, no music, no noises at all, just nature. Breakfast was lovely and very good. One thing I would love to see improve - there is too much good coffee in Laos - but this was not incorporated in the menu - yet. Coffee was good but for coffee lovers could be improved."Anopura: "Havre de paix"
"Un hôtel de charme et de bon goût loin du bruit et du monde de Jaipur parfait pour un repos de deux trois jours proche du village d'anopura qui est un village typique avec des gens adorables Une Vrai vision de la vie en inde Un MUST Stayed March 2017, traveled with friends"Villa Song Saigon: "An excellent small hotel with everything you need"
We have just returned from Vietnam, having had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Villa Song was a delight. Overlooking the river, an oasis of calm in an otherwise frenetic city. The rooms had everything one might need, the hotel had a good sized swimming pool and an excellent restaurant. The staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. A shuttle boat into the city centre got around most of the traffic problems. All in all, full marks.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "An elegant return to old Penang; atmospheric and fantastically restored. A very private retreat."
One of the most dramatically-scened hotels we've ever visited, and we are seasoned travelers. Conjures Penang's history as a wealthy, multicultural trade hub, with relics from Cheong's family. Don't miss the tour.Tugu Malang: "Enchanting visit."
"Wow, what an amazing hotel! Booked the room for two nights based on reviews from Trip Advisor. The stay greatly exceeded expectations. It really is like staying in a museum. The dining was outstanding with over 200 items on the menu. We booked the Romantic Mt. Bromo tour package through the hotel and it was a trip of a lifetime. The staff was incredible. Nita great and Mr. Smile gave us a personal tour of the property. Wayou and our tour leaders to the volcano made it a most memorable experience. Room Tip: Second floor interior with pool view away from the street noise."Tugu Lombok: "Highlight of our honeymoon!"
"We arrived and were immediately treated like VIPs. The service was amazing. We were greeted by Henri one of the managers and escorted to our villa. From that first moment onward the hotel staff went above and beyond. We came to Tugu from a trekking trip and my husband was getting over stomach issues that started on the trek. During the first breakfast, he needed to go back to the villa to lay down. When I told the server that, they immediately offered and delivered his food to our villa for him. They also made him a special herbal tea, which really helped his stomach. In every instance, they went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. We sent a bunch of our dirty laundry from the trek to the laundry to be cleaned and it came back perfect, not one stain remained. I don't know how they got all the dirt off of our clothes and boots!! The food was definitely another highlight. We loved that there was no set time for breakfast. So when we decided to sleep in, we could still get breakfast at almost lunch time. They had a wide variety of balinese as well as continental breakfast options. They also had a variety of coffees from different Indonesian islands. I loved trying a different coffee each morning. They also offer to serve you dinner where ever on the grounds you would like. If you would like to have dinner on the beach, in a special bamboo hut on the beach, by the temple, anywhere-they would make it happen. We had a special BBQ dinner on the beach where we had our own chef and server who cooked up an amazing dinner of fish, octopus, lobster, chicken, and vegetables. There was no way we could finish all of the amazing food! We also took a snorkeling tour to Gili island from the hotel. We didn't realize we would have the boat and the driver and guide all to ourselves all day. They made recommendations and we decided where we wanted to go. We wandered around on the islands and went to different snorkeling spots. We could take as long as we wanted at each place. It was amazing! Our honeymoon package came with a free 30-minute massage, which we both upgraded to an hour massage. The quality of the massage was excellent and personalized with exactly the amount of pressure we had requested. Overall, this was definitely the highlight of our honeymoon. With 1 km of white sand beach and beautiful views of the sunset, this 5-star resort had 5-star service (or better). This is truly a special place. We look forward to coming back."Locavore: "Bravo les chefs"
Every year when I visit Bali I always wanted to dine in Locavore, but it was so difficult to book a table. This year we are lucky to get a table for lunch, and we are not disappointed despite of high expectations! The ingredients are very good quality, and we see their efforts to find out many local herbs and vegetables and cook in their way, with perfect occidental culinary skills and amazing combinations. Definitely come back next time when I visit Bali.Talabgaon Castle Heritage Resort: "TALABGAON CASTLE AMAZING"
WOW. What an amazing place. Whilst we did not stay overnight, we spent a day. Our guide, Annpurna , was the most wonderful host, friendly, informative, inventive, colourful - simply the best. We were fortunate to spend time with her in her home in Jaipur and her family home, Talabgaon Castle. We made a new friend! Annpurna made sure we made the most of our day when we had the opportunity to visit her family home and village and meet and spend time with her beautiful family. The staff at Talabgaon Castle will ensure your visit or stay is perfect. The hospitality and friendliness is a treat in itself. We were invited for a complete tour of the resort rooms, hotels and facilities and they are world class. Arriving on the very colourful Camel Cart as we pass through the local village, the people are so friendly and the children just love it when visitors arrive at the Castle. Red Carpet entrance with welcome drinks and flowers. After a tour of the Castle and the grounds we enjoyed a very welcome lunch at the resort ,- the food was amazing and the service was simply the best, and then we were whisked off to be dressed and travel to town. We are now in local colourful attire and are taken to another nearby village - this experience is amazing. As we walked and talked with the local women and children. Enjoying the most amazing colourful markets and the most amazing display of fresh food that you will ever see. A few hours goes very fast and every minute is fabulous. Everyone is so friendly, they are loving the Western Visitors whom they do no see very often. If the world could be this friendly , fresh and colourful we would all be happy every day. A day or a few days spent at the Resort and the local village is time you will never forget. Simply Majestic. Thank you for sharing your day and your family with us. Such wonderful Memories (Oct 2017) Sally and Maggie
