The Cabochon Hotel: "To date, my favourite hotel in the world"
"Simply put, you won't want to leave. Cabochon feels every inch a five star boutique hotel - the staff know your name, the barmen know your orders and the exquisite rooftop pool calls daily. Well situated close to transport and nightlife, but situated back away from the madness - this really is the best way to experience the city."JING’S RESIDENCE: "Live like a weathly merchant in Ancient China! The Real Experience!"
"I was a wealthy merchant 500 years ago...my home was full of carved wood and art and lavish fabrics..I had a staff eager to please my every need..I sat in my warm lush living room looking at the last bits of the sun as it set over my ornate terra cotta roof... This is a review of Mr Jings Residence..where you get to pretend to live in another time and place... Pingyao is an ancient walled city cut off from car traffic that looks and operates as it has for a thousand years. If you want to experience historical China this is the place to visit! It's crowded with Chinese tourists in spring and summer but still a must see. In a day you can do a quick tour and see the many restored museums, temples and explore the nooks and and secret walkways that make up this city. (...)The courtyards and sitting spaces laced into the ancient buildings..all your own private sanctuary in warmer weather... The restaurant chef and Jing's Restaurant staff were excellent. Unlike a lot of problems with service in China, the folks at Jing's were helpful, friendly and eager to please. A diverse menu of Thai, Chinese and western food was great. Their spring rolls were light, crispy and perfect!!! My Thai peanut chicken was sooo good! I wondered how the chef could source food in the dead of winter..but amazingly he did!My husband had pork that was fresh and savory. The folks at Jing's were always there to help..they even packed us a picnic of banana chocolate bread for our train ride to Beijing. This place is ancient, quiet and yet modern and luxurious. A must do for any visit to China! Bluntly, I would put Pingyao on any travel plan just to stay at Jing's Residence...It was that good!"Satri House: "Great hotel in peaceful surroundings"
"We stayed for a week here. The room was great with large balcony and the gardens contained some beautiful landscaping and sculptures. It is a short, level 10 minute walk to the centre of luanprabang. They have free bicycles for use and cycling is easy and safe. The staff were excellent and wonderfully helpful when one of us was unwell. Breakfast was a real feast with fresh croissant, home made jams, eggs and fresh lao coffee. The pool was long and great to swim in . a very tranquil place to stay."MATHIS RETREAT: "Best place in Ubud"
"My wife and I stayed at the Kenanga for our honeymoon in Ubud. The place has a unique charm, and is very relaxing. The rice fields in front of the infinity pool and the restaurant are breath taking. The staff is so friendly and always smiling. They made sure that we were satisfied From the moment we arrived until we left. We would highly recommend this place to anyone going to Ubud. "4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "A piece of paradise"
"I discovered a wild place, where nature and silence seem like paradise. Large and confortable rooms so well integrated in the nature, without hurting it. My stay was so enjoyable : place is very clean, confortable, and staff so attentive and friendly. I enjoyed relaxation, water, fine food and wines, all these brought together by the kind and competent managers Anna and Valentin, dedicated to their customers. I will return for sure, temptation is not a sin !"Villa Song Saigon: "Great escape"
"A lovely get away, small boutique hotel by the river. Sanctuary room with pool view was outstanding. Quiet, nice size, loved the balcony. Breakfast is fantastic, a la carte menu, wish we had more time to enjoy it. Spa is great, professional staff, loved the massage. Overall staff is doing their best to make you feel peaceful and they will help you, if needed. Will love to come back. - things for the hotel to improve; there's nowhere to hang the towels in the toilet, beds was good but needs some attention since it made noises each time one was moving and the last thing, more service by the pool. We could use a drink in the afternoon (even though room mini bar is complementary) Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"The Cabochon Hotel: "Classic eclectic"
"The furnishing and finish is exquisite. The surgical head lamps near the kitchen and classic England sink and toilet bowl are just some examples how the hotel endeavours to capture the past. The service from the hotel staff is the best out there. Limited number of rooms so you feel like you are the only guest here. Interesting breakfast layout where you can dine amongst the hotel lobby areas. Will definitely have fond memory of 45 sukhumvit road. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Fantastic.."
"..international restaurant in a beautiful setting. Superb in every way, the class reflects the commitment of the chef, his wife and staff. We chose tasting menus, fabulous! Food is global but the setting overlooking a lake is pure Myanmar. Wonderful wine list at sensible prices for what you get. Special mention to thank the staff for assisting us at our second visit when one of us was taken ill. Helped us wonderfully and we were very grateful."Sukoon Houseboat: "Sukoon means peace on heaven of"
Kashmir’s beauty can leave you gasping for air, yet amidst such splendor, exists one tiny, wondrous place to stay. Of all things, a houseboat on the Dal Lake would be the most idle place to take in Kashmir’s beauty, with the looming snowcapped peaks -far away yet so near and the lotuses floating at arm’s length on the Dal.Satri House: "Perfect. bliss"
"Nothing to add really to the other reviewers. This place is splendid with style and characters, quiet because a bit away from the main road. Will absolutely return. Would only say that breakfast service is a bit difficult - you have to order piecemeal (or anyway, that's what our waitress did). Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"
