4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Stunning and calm 3 days at 4 Rivers"

Review by: ofiucus | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We loved the lodge, from the moment we arrived the warm welcome and the stunning location were as much as we could have hoped for. From kayaking in the mangroves to swimming in the waterfalls and in the river just outside your tent - this place is anything but dull - check out their activity programme. We are vegan & vegetarian and the staff accommodated us completely - with a varied and changing menu with multiple options every day. Highly recommended - and having read the very few negative reviews I can only think of them as truly bizarre. This is heaven on Earth."

Glenburn Tea Estate: "A piece of paradise"

Review by: Rachaelfourteas | Source: Trip Advisor
"The Glenburn tea estate is in the most beautiful place on earth. On the first day we arrived to a warm welcome and I sat in our room looking over the tea gardens with the Himalayas rising majestically up in to the sky beyond I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Will and Faye were the perfect hosts and Parveez is the most enthusiastic person I have ever heard talk about tea. We learnt a great deal from him and can't wait to stock their delicious Darjeeling tea. We were looked after magnificently by all the staff, (especially Mandeep) and our guides were friendly and helpful and being local were a font of knowledge on all the wildlife and fauna and the ways of life for the people on the estate. We even joined in a game of 'Housey Housey'(Bingo) in the streets with the locals! Every evening we had supper around the large dinning table with the other guests and it was like a special dinner party. We met a wide variety of people from all corners of the globe and it was a lovely way to make new friends. It did not feel like a hotel but more like a home where you were always welcome and nothing was too much trouble. This is a hotel that everyone should have on their bucket list and I just hope we can return again one day."

Le Calao: "Great food, excellent service"

This centrally located restaurant is set in a traditional merchant’s house right on the river. Fine food and deft service.

The owner and host David Gordon was there to greet us and his other guests nothing is too much trouble and your every wish in designing your particular favourite dishes is followed to the letter. A culinary experience not to be missed."

The River Resort: "Many reasons to come, no reason to leave"

Review by: rdebode | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed in The River Resort mid July 2017, as the starting point of our Laos trip that took us up north from there. Great, nicely decorated bungalows with terrace or balcony and grand view over the mighty Mekong. Two swimming pools. A good restaurant serving a wide variety of local (and not-so-local) food. All set in a wonderful and well maintained tropical garden. Great staff that helps you with anything and more - like lending you bikes or fixing you a trip to a nearby or far-away site. Yes - the place lies somewhat remote from the obvious track; getting there needs some planning. The hotel can help you with that! Yes - nearby Champasak is a hamlet and everything is hamlet there; no fancy stores and no nightlife. You won't miss it, sitting on your balcony looking at the river and the sky over it! Yes - it's an expensive trip to those Mekong falls (some 100 kms south); once there they charge you for almost every step you take around the place. You'll forget this once you stand on a ridge watching a billion liters of Mekong water cascading down! The River Resort is not just a place to stay - it's an experience! A perfect start for a Laos trip, or as an ending as well."

Tugu Bali: "Beautiful Old Bali Style"

Review by: Lucia G | Source: Trip Advisor
"I had spend a couple of night's at the Tugu over Nyepi (Balinese day of silence) and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms are stunning, full of little details that make your stay pleasant and also very unique - you feel in Bali, not like this could be any resort around the world. The staff is very sweet and friendly and the location is unbeatable, walking distance from the beach. "

Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Light modern fusion"

Review by: Claude P | Source: Trip Advisor
We dined at Le Du in Feb 2017, a modern Thai gastro restaurant with a twist. We selected the four course menu with inventive, tasteful dishes where western textures are fusioned with Thai flavors. Examples are the river prawns with egg and chu-chee curry or the mango panna cotta with passion fruit and smoked coconut icecream. A decently prized wine list completes the gastro experience. The place is popular, thus crowded with poor acoustics i.e. too noisy for a normal conversation. I was told management is working on a solution.

Tugu Malang: "Tempo Doeloe in East Java"

Review by: WillSW6 | Source: Trip Advisor
"A great hotel to experience Java in its true character and beauty. The hotel is right in the centre of Malang and the staff will do anything to make your stay a great one. Their English is very good, the food is amazing (wide choice available incl traditional Indonesian and western) and the decor of the hotel is stunning, a must see and hard to describe, just check out the photos and you will see. We stayed for the weekend with two young children and just chilled out in the room, spa, pool and with an occasional stroll to the nearby bird market. Stayed January 2017, traveled with family"
