Rachamankha: "3 nights in paradise"

My husband's 85 year old aunt and her daughter stayed at Rachamankha for 3 nights this August while they were visiting our family and my husband's mom in Chiang Mai. They loved loved the hotel. They appreciated the serenity and the architecture of this hotel. They said the service was perfect. Every morning they would tell me what they had for breakfast which was scrumptious. They also ate all their dinners there and enjoyed sampling Rachamakha's Thai food. It was a dream come true for these visitors to stay at this hotel.

Summertime Villa: "A slice of heaven"

"Summertime is an oasis of calm in Goa. The staff is lovely and caring, and the home and grounds are impeccable. All rooms and en suite bathrooms are tastefully decorated and spacious. The infinity pool is amazing and well maintained as are the grounds (our children enjoyed feeding the Koi fish in the pond each morning). For us, the owners made our daughter's birthday so special with their unexpected generosity, including a beautiful birthday cake, decorations and even an age-appropriate present! You'd definitely need a car to get around, as the home isn't really walking distance from any major markets or restaurants, and the approach road is rough. We will book again!"

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "R and R after a hectic trip through Bhutan"

"A haven of peace after Bhutan and other parts of Nepal--a lazy 4 days where the waistline expanded again, inventive food and yummy....Lalu at his best !! As always, a superb stay, the team surpassed themselves under Marcus's steely eye. The weather was none too good but, hey ho, every visit has given us stunning views of the Anapurna range so we couldnt grumble( otherwise the Grand Fromage would probably banish us !! ) Looking forward to our next visit and some chilli dishes !! Room Tip: Any cottage will be a joy"

Les Maisons Wat Kor: "Great Customer Service"

I stayed with my wife and travelled with another couple who also stayed at Maison Wat Kor. We were very impressed with their attention to detail. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious, clean and tidy, and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and its surrounds. The lush garden created a sense of relaxation and was well maintained. Staff were very attentive and pleasant.

The Island Lodge: "Absolute gem only 2 hours from Saigon airport"

"We just spent 3 fantastic nights at this hotel, relaxing, exploring the island, and eating fresh, delicious food. Can't rate this highly enough, and it's easily accessible from Saigon and the airport. Having said that, we were a bit disappointed as we passed over the huge bridge to Thoi Son island. In my mind, we were heading to a rural idyll, and I didn't see how the island could be rural when it has a motorway passing through one end of it! But 10kms later, after driving through the fruit trees down the one road suitable for cars, we arrived at the Lodge. And the setting is beautiful and quiet, surrounded by lanes through the fruit plantations and houses, and with a view of the ever-changing Mekong. Everybody we interacted with at the Lodge was friendly and helpful, and service was always with a smile. Some of the staff didn't have great English, but there was always someone around who did. The staff make the place, and we were really charmed by them! A special thank you to Giao, one of the waitresses, who remembered our orders from previous days and was always kind and friendly. The Lodge itself is wonderfully designed, with a huge open communal area which is subtly divided into bar and dining areas. The whole place is beautifully furnished and oozes style - I would like to transplant everything from the bar area into my house! We loved that there were so many different seating areas around the grounds, including a couple of pagodas, sofas, riverfront tables and a table right out on the pier for watching the sunset. The pool is warm, long, and spotlessly clean, with plenty of loungers and huge fresh towels. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable, and as stylish as the downstairs area. There were so many other places to sit and enjoy the view that we didn't really use the balcony, but it is a relaxing place to be. The food was unexpectedly good. There is a French and a Vietnamese menu, and food is fresh and well presented. They bake their own bread and croissants on site, and the smell of it in the morning and before dinner was a treat. It's an odd thing to recommend when you're in Vietnam, but the quiche lorraine was one of the most delicious things we ate on the whole trip! It's on the starter menu, but is big enough and rich enough to enjoy for lunch with some of the fresh bread. We also enjoyed the duck, and the tuna. And breakfasts were sublime, with everything made to order. There is a comprehensive wine list, and we also appreciated the fact that the house wine was very reasonably priced and very drinkable - thanks Michel! The Lodge offers tours, which we didn't do, but instead we took bikes out on two afternoons and explored the lanes and bridges of the island on our own. It's hard to believe that the big city of My Tho is only a few kms away when you're cycling around under the shade of the trees, over bridges that are 2 feet wide. At the very far end of the island, as far as the road goes, we stopped and had a drink at Mr Thanh's little waterfront bar and chatted to him about tourism on the island. He was an interesting man with superb English, and his wife makes a delicious cold lemon juice on a hot day. The only negatives: At a Lodge with eco credentials, I would have liked to see drinking water available as refills, rather than endless 500ml plastic bottles. And just be aware that the Mekong view is of a busy waterway full of commercial and industrial traffic, with industrial buildings across the water. In actual fact we really enjoyed watching the traffic and the change of the tides so this wasn't a problem at all, but we hadn't realised it wasn't looking out on to countryside. Thanks to all the staff at the Island Lodge. This really is a gem, and we were so pleased that we stayed for 3 nights rather than rushing through."

Samanea Beach Resort: "expat hangout"

kep and nearby Kampot are wonderful places to visit. Samanea Resort is set up totally to be by yourself, lovely pool and great view. it does however lack a bar. I like to sit in a bar area, not just be served

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Amazing safari experience"

"Where can I start?! This place is amazing!!!! The safari itself: saw every animal we were told we would, very knowledgable guides who have such a passion for the animals and are just as excited and keen to see the wildlife as the tourists are. (Praneet and Di Lanka- we love you!) amazing close encounters, comfortable jeep rides with no nausea or any feeling of discomfort at all, we were asked which location of the park we would like to visit, our wishes were always taken into account and the guys just want to please you.... And they are so genuine. A cool box with beers and soft drinks accompany you on safari. The camp: amazing well equipped tents, that are absolutely everything you need, hot shower on request, proper toilet and flush, nice clean and fresh towels, bath mat and all the little luxuries- even shampoo and shower gel are provided. Pathways lit and easy to get about, amazing bar area with bean bags, a fabulous place to chill and have a glass of wine! The food: AMAZING!!! We were pleasantly surprised by the standard of food, we have eaten in 5* restaurants, and we can genuinely, genuinely say that the camp have provided the best food we have ever tasted. A big thank you to the chef. The guys explain what everything is, how to eat it etc. The staff can cater for any dietary requirements as long as they know beforehand. We never went hungry or thirsty!! The staff: the staff are out of this world. They are so smiley, genuinely happy and want to make your experience the best it can be. Thank you to Praneet, Di Lanka and Silva for making our stay with you incredible. The facilities here are incredible, if I had children I would not have any doubts about taking them: any age, their needs would be fully met. This trip was worth every penny..... Would We go back, YES!!!!"

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Quaint Sojourn"

"I visited this hidden gem along the strip of Arabian Sea with my husband, upon a friend’s recommendation. True to its word, Neeleshwar Hermitage is everything what it claims and beyond! We were marveled at how the property have merged itself into the locality but still takes your breath away. (...) We enjoyed each and every moment spent at Neeleshwar Hermitage. The selection of the songs played in the room is one of the best that I have heard. So are the books in the library. The authentic food served was deliciously prepared. The beach was so clean and pristine that the walk along the coastline was refreshing. If not the beach, one could also spend all their time by the infinity pool. We spent quite a lot of time lounging by the pool, enjoying the beautiful sea beyond. The rooms are spacious and the traditional architecture adds charm to it. The simple yet luxurious room was the icing on the cake for us! We would like to give our special thanks to the wonderful staff of Neeleshwar– each and every one who seamlessly provides the finest service."

Cuca: "Pengalaman Makan Siang yang sangat berkesan & menarik"

Waiters yang melayani kami memberikan penjelasan mengenai makanan yang akan dihidangkan sehingga kami mengerti dan paham mengenai menu-menu yang dihidangkan. Suasananya nyaman. Rasa makanannya cocok dengan lidah Indonesia. Menu makanannya merupakan makanan adalah light menu, dengan porsi yang tidak berlebihan, dihidangkan menu per menu. Dijelaskan per menu. Kami tutup dengan dessert snow white yang sangat pas.. sangat direkomendasikan.

The Island Lodge: "Real vacations, not the usual awful business machine. De réelles vacances, pas une machine a’ touristes"

"We got bored to go to the vietnamese seaside for 20 years. Jam, crowd, noise,.... I decided to shoot to another direction within close range from HCMC, possibly with another type of landscape. We pinged on My Tho and the Island Lodge Resort. Very narrow road leading to a car parking. Good or bad news, cars cannot reach the resort. An electric golf cart picked us up. They had a room for driver at the car parking for cheap including a meal. We arrived in this green resort and got welcomed by the owner. Lobby and restaurant were nice, spacey and very well ventilated. We never felt too hot. Wind helped too. Decoration was simple but very nice with a family historical touch amd view on the Mekong. We went to our bungalow. Again, simple but very nice. Very green environment. Quite. No noisy tourists. Definitely another class of tourists. Human size. Nice pool, again, simple. Nice staff too. Very caring. And best of the best? The food. For 8USD you get what would be a “bread and butter” Beef carrot dish turned into a delicacy. We will back. No doubt about it. Nous en avions assez d'aller a' la mer depuis 20 ans. Foules, bruit, embouteillages,... J'ai décidé de viser dans une autre direction mais a' portée de Saigon, et dans un autre carde. Nous avons atterris au Island Lodge Resort. Une route étroite amène au parking. Le resort n'est ensuite qu'accessible en auto électrique. Il y avait une chambre pour le chauffeur au niveau du parking avec un repas a' un prix très abordable; Nous sommes arrivés dans un resort très verdoyant et avons étés reçus par le proprio. Le lobby et restaurant sont spacieux, très charmants et bien ventilés. Nous n'avons jamais ressenti la chaleur. La décoration est simple avec une touche d'histoire familiale au Vietnam et le resto offre une large vue sur le Mékong. Le bungalow, aussi dans un cadre très verdoyant était simple mais très élégant.. Calme, pas de touristes bruyants. Une toute autre classe d’hôtel a' taille humaine. La piscine est simple et jolie. Les employés sont aussi très serviables. Le meilleur de tout reste la cuisine. Pour 8 usd, un plat aussi simple qu'un boeuf carotte est transforme en délicatesse. Aucun doute, nous reviendrons.
