Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Neeleshwar Hermitage peaceful and comfortable"

Review by: indefatigable | Source: Trip Advisor
"Do not be put off by the proud boast that Monty Don has been a visitor, this is a very nice hotel indeed. The bungalow style rooms are very nicely appointed, comfortable, and even the cheaper rooms are spacious. When booking, look at the hotel plan on the hotel website and they will try to book you into your selected choice. During our stay the hotel was occupied almost entirely by English couples of a certain age so do not expect a great deal of exited activity, but that is not the point of this hotel. It is quiet, peaceful, and a great place to recover from a journey to the subcontinent and recover from jetlag. The gardens in which the rooms are set are beautifully kept. The staff are a delight, have good english, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is very good; there are two restaurants which is a good effort from a relatively small property. This hotel is highly recommended. There is one quirk. Visitors to Kerala should know that very few hotels have full liquor licences. Neeleshwar Hermitage supply a very limited but entirely satisfactory choice of wines and very cold beer at a fair price for a top Indian hotel. I don't think spirits are available at all, soft drinks like Coca cola are strongly discouraged as their own enormous selection of fresh juices are provided. Try their freshly squeezed orange juice with your contraband duty free gin. There is no fridge in your room. Booking seven months ahead we were not able to incorporate a trip on their boat 'Lotus' so I can't report on this but it is clearly a popular choice. Room Tip: Look at the hotel plan on the hotel website and request it on making your reservation"

Maison Polanka: "Natural luxury"

Review by: Iain M | Source: Trip Advisor
I recently stayed at Maison Polanka, it was such a welcome change and surprise to what I am used to staying; This Resort really is your home away from home; the staff welcome you like family, the intimacy of this place really has such a warm charm that makes you feel immediately at home; The team headed by General Manager Cathy, were exceptional, they were so attentive, friendly and could do enough to make our stay most memorable; I stayed in the Green room, which had an amazing balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens and the perfect retreat to relax, read a book with a gin & Tonic. They made all the arrangements for a private guide to Angkor Wat, where we went for the Sunrise, what a Magical experience, followed by a picnic on the river bank; this truly was one of the most remarkable experiences I have ever had. If you are looking for a relaxing, cosy place to stay I highly recommend Maison Polanka.

Jing’s Residence: "Perfect in every way"

Review by: Tonya W | Source: Trip Advisor
Family of five, had 2 rooms. Was easily the best place we stayed in china. The staff treated us like family, teaching the boys calligraphy, taking the time to teach us about chinese culture. We were truly spoiled. The rooms were impeccable, traditional in style but comfortable and modern. Breakfast was included and delicious - we ate one dinner there and it was our best meal in china. The hotel is inside the pedestrian only area of the town, so we had the hotel pick us up from the train station. Can't sing praises enough of this establishment. A real gem in a gorgeous little town.

A large choice of activities and amenities are offered, you can enjoy the time passes on the beach with book and drink, or a trip in their private boat..... Slow Villas and Spa: "Exceeded all expectations!"

Review by: charsh-booms | Source: Trip Advisor
Every part of Slow Villas exceeded our expectations! The villa was stunning with so many beautiful details. The yard to our villa was HUGE and the pool was the perfect size - bigger than expected. The outdoor bathroom was absolutely blissful... we wouldn't have changed a thing! The breakfast was one of the most memorable parts of our stay at Slow! It was so delicious and having the friendly staff bring it to our private deck was such a treat. The staff were so friendly and always willing to help. We also enjoyed the spa a few times while staying at Slow... highly recommended! Overall, we enjoyed every aspect of our stay at Slow while on Gili Air and whole heartedly recommend it. It was a time we will never forget!

Dewakan: "Exquisite"

Review by: stubbyytoes | Source: Trip Advisor
"The 10 course dinner menu is well-crafted and each course successfully tickled different areas of our taste buds. The meal starts with 4 complimentary snacks, followed by 3 appetizers, 4 main courses, 3 desserts & ends with Malaysian-flavored ice pops. These are served over a 3-hour period, which is good timing for me personally - lots of time for good, long conversations! Love the fact that each course is infused with Malaysian flavors, bringing these local ingredients to another level. The restaurant atmosphere was quiet and service was impressive - they were quick to response to our needs. However, there are limited tables and they only entertain reservations made online (check out their website). This restaurant is located in KDU College, Glenmarie - may be quite a distance from KL but convenient for patrons from Shah Alam & Subang Jaya. Overall, we had an enjoyable evening. It was definitely a great fine dining experience."

MesaStila: "Great place to relax our body and mind"

Review by: Onlynasha | Source: Trip Advisor
"This place is really a great place if u want to try an unique experience. - Resort's layout is awesome and well maintained. - They really gives us a great service. We ask for a pick-up service from Jogja, our driver is very nice . He told us a history about Mesastila and gives us recommendation of a tasty local restaurant at Magelang. Even the manager greet us when we walk around the resort. - Their SPA is must try. Hammam steam is already include if you have a treatment here, make sure the staff inform you about it. I have a hammam steam and javanese massage and it's really relaxing my body and make my skin smoother. Totally love it. - The room is very spacious large. We stay at Ambar Villa and I really love the outdoor shower and the bath tub. We can watch scenery while relaxing at bath tub and hearing a nature voice. It's really a great experience. - They do have many daily activities such as coffee plantation tour, yoga, power walk, etc. , and if you want to spend more money there are horse riding, cycling, etc . All you have to do just tell the staff and they would arrange everything. You don't have to worry how to spent a day here. My 1 night stay here feels very short. - My favourite food here is gado-gado. It taste good and beautifully presented. Thank you so much for all the Mesastila team so we can have a great time and great experience here. Tip : - no convenient store near the resort so make sure you bring all the basic necessity ( medicine, cosmetic, etc)."

Manda De Laos: "The most beautiful place in all of Luang Prabang to dine!"

Review by: Carey M | Source: Trip Advisor
We were simply blown away by the setting of this restaurant. You walk in thinking it's just a nice place and then the amazement begins. The dining is alongside many ponds that create a setting of relaxation and wonder. The teens even enjoyed exploring on the paths over the water which were candle lit. The food and service were very good. I wouldn't say every dish was the best, but overall, our party was happy with their food and the waiters were so kind and willing to help, even our fussy eater. What a fun night out with family and friends.

Mie Cafe: "I would return to Siem Reap just to eat here again! Top, top food!!"

Review by: Troubleonline | Source: Trip Advisor
"In short I absolutely loved this restaurant and the food we ate here!! For me our meal here was one the highlights of Siem Reap - possibly better than battling the crowds at some of the temples! In fact it was 7 months ago but I cannot forget how good it was. Probably one of the best meals I ate anywhere this year or ever in SE Asia. Lovely building (traditional wooden house) set in a nice garden. We caught a taxi to get there as was a little out of town but really not far and definitely worth the 5 or so minute ride. We shared starters including yummy scallops but the highlight was the marinated frogs legs that were served perched around the most deliciously garlicky wild mushroom tart. Heaven on a plate! I had the most amazing grilled king or tiger prawns drizzled with curry sauce and rice crackers whilst hubby had their infamous pork ribs with french fries. I wasn't wild about the ribs but hubby loved them and preferred them to my prawns. So happily there was less sharing on that course. For dessert I had Mango Banana Sombai made with the local sombai liquer - looked like mush but tasted divine - no sharing! Hubby had chocolate cake with ice cream. We also had a lovely bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc (Anakena) and I think a cocktail and beer to start. A must go for foodies who appreciate well made food! Would recommend eating slightly earlier than we did as it closes at 9.15pm and was a little quiet by the time we arrived for our 8pm reservation and empty when we left. A 7pm may have been better. Book in advance so you do not miss! Only disconcerting part was eating the delicious frog legs against what I think was the sound of frogs croaking in the garden although we could swear their calls dropped whilst we ate them ;-)"
