Mie Cafe: "A hidden gem"

Gorgeous garden setting and fabulous food. Fresh, tasty ingredients with excellent presentation. Recommended by a local ex-monk and it didn’t disappoint.

"My wife and I stayed at this hotel when visiting Pai for 2 nights. The service was brilliant as were the rooms. The facilities were great. 2 nice pool areas and the resteraunt alone is well worth a visit. We ate dinner there one night which was reasonably priced. We went for the tapas which was delicious however on the second night we sampled street food on walking street where there are many food vendors and nice little hippie bars where we sampled drinks and cocktails which were good too. The Main Street in Pai is in walking distance from hotel around 10 mins however the hotel offer free transport in a tuk tuk too and from the hotel. We wouldn't hesitate to use the hotel again if we returned to Pai However there are many stray dogs around Pai but don't be alarmed. They barked a bit but seemed to stay away and let you be "

Tugu Bali: "Old world charm with the location to match"

"We asked for a beach view and we definitely received one. Great view of the beach/sunset with the sound of the waves constantly crashing in. The room had so much old world charm about it that it really makes you wonder what has happened to the current state of hotels. The entrance hall was breathtaking with the high ceilings and the massive timber beams scattered throughout. Staff were second to none and all the Indonesian/Balinese inspired meals were also a highlight. We left as relaxed and refreshed as we ever have after a few weeks in Bali. We will be back in again in a few months."

Hotel Tugu Bali: "Dinner and a show"

Thursday night cultural show was very lovely (you should make a reservation, but they nicely accommodated us). Very reasonably priced dinner, also very delicious. The music was lovely, and so were the dancers. Great way to spend a Thursday evening!

Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Must-visit restaurant in Siem Reap for affordable price"

First of all the location: this restaurant is in a dark and isolated village in Siem Reap, and it might be difficult even for taxis to reach it. Recommend keeping a map with you (or google maps) in order to find it more or less easily or help the taxi driver to do it. Went there right after Christmas and only had to wait a few minutes to get a seat (no booking, but it's better to have one). The restaurant has two floors, so you can dine downstairs indoor or at their al fresco terrace. They offer a tasting menu of 5 or 6 courses for 24 or 28 USD that changes every 10 days, the food is amazing! Their style is French-Cambodian, and the chef will come visit you at your table at the end of the meal to offer a plate of fresh fruit after the dessert. Must note that the restaurant is open only from Tuesday to Saturday, so it will be a pity to go there when it's closed (also because it's a reeeeeally dark street haha). Enjoy!

Blackitch Artisan Kitchen: "An unforgettable experience"

A truly unique and distinctive experience at Blackitch Artisan Kitchen. Chef Black's philosophy around food and ethics comes through in all his dishes - local, creative, artisan and balanced. His food is innovative, experimental and he has a real flair for flavours. Chef Black explained each of his dishes as they came to the table and the processes - the majority of the food is organic and handmade. I was fascinated to hear about the fermentation processes and work he'd gone through to create the dishes - an unforgettable evening !

Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Wonderful Experience – Hanok in Bukchon"

This beautiful property tucked away in the Bukchon neighborhood of Seoul is an absolute gem! We had the opportunity to spend 3 amazing nites in the Rak Ko Jae, and during our stay we met Winnie, our fabulous and very accommodating host. She prepared amazing breakfastes and was so delightful to chat with. Loved our quaint sleeping quarters and the heated floors. Plus the supercool old school korean tub. So enjoyed just snooping around the amazing complex. I'm running out of superlatives to use! Also, check out the hot sauna, sweating until you cant keep your eyes open (in a good way!). We'll never forget our visit.

Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Fantastic place & staff"

"French word : ""Le meilleur endroit pour dormir SUR le lac, et le meilleur restaurant de la région"" We were originally staying 2 nights, but ended but cancelling a night in Nyaung Shwe to spend an additional one at Inle Heritage. This is hands-down the best hotel (& restaurant) I've experienced in Myanmar. It is not the most luxurious, but it's not the point here. The rooms are beautiful, decorated with taste, eco-friendly. Only 6 bungalows, perfectly maintained, making the place a haven of peace in the evening. It might get busy at lunch and in the afternoon as tourists come to eat and visit the place. They probably have the best restaurant in lake area, and they also have burmese cats, endemic fish aquariums, cooking classes, homegrown vegetables etc. Basically the place is also a foundation : eco-friendly hotel, burmese cat sanctuary, and a school training students for hotels and restaurants. A portion of everything you pay here (hotel, restaurant, not sure for the souvenir shop) will go to the foundation. Breakfast is fantastic : real bread, real croissants, no wonder why all the customers were French :). Restaurant is great as well and serves fine cuisine (Myanmar/Thai style, homemade recipes, and a couple western dishes). Had one of their specialties, some simple fried rice and a so-classic Chicken Sandwich, all 3 were just perfect. Their ""pancakes"" are more like French crepes rather than US pancakes, taste great ! Girlfriend got sick on first day here, and stayed in bed the whole day while I left to visit Indein. The whole staff took care of her, from the cleaning ladies to the Chef preparing a special meal, and the manager checking on her every couple hours. Staff has been fabulous. The souvenir shop is nice as well, they seem to have superior quality stuff and pretty much everything you'd need. Consider checking it as you might find better stuff than on Inle markets / temple shops. You may find more luxurious places on Inle, but you will end up in resorts. It will cost more, and there will be 30 or more bungalows which won't always be in good shape. Honestly, if you want to be ON LAKE, go straight for Inle Heritage, forget about the lake ""resorts"". It is true there is some noise because of the boats going around (can start early in the morning), but keep in mind this will happen anywhere as long as you're staying on the lake. Okay, maybe a swimming-pool would be cool, but that sounds kind of stupid when you're actually on a lake (would not recommend swimming in the lake though). Maybe if they can make some eco-friendly pool, idea for the future :) We were kind of sad to leave Inle Heritage, I'd honestly would have stayed there for a whole week. Supanniga Eating Room: "Tasty"

The food that we ordered all good and tasty. The green curry is delicious and the pork meat also tender and excellent. The place is small and tend to be crowded but i think that common as many people also read good review of this place. The place is close to our stay in Somerset and easy to find.

Amata Lanna: "Perfect"

We stayed here 3 nights in January & it was lovely in every way. The staff were so helpful, the rooms lovely and the bed very comfy. It's close to the road and there is some noise from that in the morning, but it's otherwise very peaceful. Breakfast was good. No complaints, except the endless rain, but I can remember blame the hotel for the weather.
