MesaStila: "Jewel in the heart of Central Java"

Review by: jurgen53 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We traveled the world and stayed in some of the most beautiful hotels but we have to say that Mesa Stila is a class of its own. The fantastic combination of Dutch colonial buildings and the most beautiful Javanese historic villas in the middle of a functioning organic coffee plantation surrounded by impressive volcanoes is second to none. We loved the restaurant with its organic vegetables from the resort's own garden. Every meal we had during our 9 days at Mesa Stila was delicious, beautifully presented, well sized and well prized (we usually had two courses each, one or two vegetable side dishes, water, tea, or fresh fruit juice or beer and never paid more than app. 40 US$ which is OK for a 5 star resort even for Java). Breakfast was very good and never boring. A special treat at breakfast was a complimentary health tonic of herbal combinations presented by the Jamu lady. We also enjoyed the complimentary high tea in the afternoon as well as the free yoga classes and all the other activities offered by the resort. The villa we stayed in (Merapi 3) was spacious, beautifully decorated with Javanese antiques had a gorgeous bathroom with a sunken bathtub and a huge deck with stunning views. We loved the magic pool and of course the Hamman Spa for the most relaxing massages. Top of all is the wonderful staff. Always friendly, good English speaking and very helpful. We loved our stay at Mesa Stila and can absolutely recommend this jewel in the heart of Java to everyone."

Villa Mathis: "Magnifique et magique"

Review by: Jerome J | Source: Trip Advisor

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "An excellent safari camp near to Sri Lanka’s finest wildlife park"

Review by: David L | Source: Trip Advisor
Outstanding Safari Camp - but please remember this is a CAMP, a safari experience, not a luxury hotel and as such tents in the bush are the order of the day. Nevertheless the camp is well done and maintained. The food was excellent and plentiful, mostly Sri Lankan cuisine. Noel and his partner Cecile are excellent hosts and his team of camp managers, cooks and guides are very professional and accommodating. The safari guides are extremely good, highly knowledgable and ethical in their wildlife policies. The safari vehicles are well appointed, up-to-date 4x4's - all important to me as a professional wildlife photographer. Yala National Park itself is just a short drive away from the camp, (at the time of my visit, camps and lodges are not permitted in the park itself) great wildlife encounters are frequent and the varied landscapes are stunning. Noel Rodrigo's is perhaps a little more expensive than the other camps, hotels and wildlife tours I saw out there, but for the personal attention, quality of the camp, vehicles, guides, food and service.... it is certainly worth it.

SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "What a Valentine’s treat"

Review by: UeliMorgenthaler | Source: Trip Advisor
I was a guest at Lucia & Chef Felix's Valentine's dinner - the first ever dinner at this exciting new and peaceful place - and I got served more surprises than I can name here! The menu was skilfully "crafted" with one course just melting into the next - perfect and distinct aromas of ingredients creatively combined, it felt like being on a voyage of the senses - and I left elevated in spirits and happy that such is possible again in Yangon. Thank you very much - and may many more guests be as happy as I was!! Ueli - Yangon

Sanak Retreat Bali: "Gorgeous resort to relax"

Review by: BrakelSyl | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed end of April in a 2 bedroom villa with our two teenagers. Arrived by own rental car, and found it very easy to find the accommodation, we used the off line google maps on our mobile, and there were some good signs along the way too. Got a warm welcome in the restaurant, with good explanation and a tour around our villa, which was great. The two rooms bungalows all have incredible views to the pool, rice fields and valley. We had two balconies and a verandah, it was so peaceful to sit there and enjoy the jungle concert and view the gorgeous sunsets. The pool was clean, fresh (but not too cold) and spacious, with enough sunbeds and umbrellas. We also loved the funny Indonesian food car, from which you could take the pooltowels. Several times a week the local dance group came there to practice, we loved watching the beautiful girls. With our own car we visited the Buddhist monastery, which was only 25 minutes away. Great serene place! Also did the guided trekking with Berly, which was a very sweet and knowledgable young man. The trip included a swim in the natural spring, which was very refreshing. Our villa had so much nice decorations, and blinds to keep the sun out of the room. It has 2 fans inside, and also a fan on every balcony/verandah. There was no A/C/ but it was no problem at all, this was the coolest house of all our accommodations. This is a place for fully relaxation! Love the views so much, despite there can be some fog in Munduk area, the sight here was always clear. We had some rainshowers in the afternoon, but the mornings were very clear, blue sky and warm. Only two remarks: we found the food in the restaurant too expensive for what we got, compared to our other meals on Bali (but we had our own transport, so we went to Munduk many times) and maybe the ""say goodbye"" could have been as warm as the welcome (?), like in all other places we stay on Bali. But we recommend this place to everyone, it was really a pleasure to stay here, a wonderful memory."

Satri House: "Great hotel in peaceful surroundings"

Review by: xavt | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We stayed for a week here. The room was great with large balcony and the gardens contained some beautiful landscaping and sculptures. It is a short, level 10 minute walk to the centre of luanprabang. They have free bicycles for use and cycling is easy and safe. The staff were excellent and wonderfully helpful when one of us was unwell. Breakfast was a real feast with fresh croissant, home made jams, eggs and fresh lao coffee. The pool was long and great to swim in . a very tranquil place to stay."

Sandat Glamping Tents: "Rice paddy paradise"

Review by: anysroad | Source: Trip Advisor
"I had a wonderful 2 night stay a Sandat and it was a welcome change after the hustle of Ubud. I love what they have done and how the concept of the place works, especially the green philosophy. My tent was super secluded and really breeze, something I was scared of with no aircon. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful at all times and the shuttles to go to and from town easily organized. My one and only tiny remark is that the food good be better. They have a great selection of cocktails and local wines and the food is okay. I just think don't think it is up to par with the rest of the experience which is truly magical."

Rachamankha: "Lovely romantic getaway"

Review by: MCat194 | Source: Trip Advisor
We had a lovely stay at Rachamankha! The food at the restaurant is wonderful- the included breakfasts are really a treat to start your day. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and landscaped. Rooms are spacious and airy with high ceilings. It's easy to spend an afternoon relaxing by the pool or in the library just soaking it all in. The location is also quite good- easy to walk around and see the sights. Would definitely stay here again!
